Bois Ambrés

This one really surprised me! Has a beautiful citrusy floral scent with powdery vanilla and ambery sweetness. I really like it a lot. As for me to wear personally, I might not wear it as much as I do feel it leans more feminine than I would want to have on me, but would be exquisite for a woman to wear! Great longevity and average projection, it exudes class and dignity from an era that seems long forgotten. Let’s bring class and beauty back with this scent. Definitely recommend.

I hope you're all well 🙂 Today, I am delighted to introduce you to a brand new and exciting fragrance house that has captured my attention: 'Atelier Gros-Désirs'. Officially established in 2023 by the talented Benoit Gros-Désirs, this brand has dedicated approximately three years to meticulous research and experimentation before presenting us with their exquisite final products. Currently, Atelier Gros-Désirs offers two exceptional fragrances, and I am particularly eager to share my thoughts on one of them: Bois Ambres. I must admit, when I first experienced the fragrance, I did not find it particularly captivating. It was the beginning of August, during the peak of the summer season, and I found the fragrance rather uninspiring. However, hear me out. I had to redo this review all over again and even take new pictures because my experience with it since the beginning of September has been completely different. Bois Ambres is a fragrance that truly comes alive in cooler temperatures, unlike the scorching summer heat. The fragrance is a beautiful ambery woody scent, supported by various notes throughout its duration. The opening has a lovely citrus undertone, providing a refreshing touch and a pleasant green edge. The heart introduces a delightful floral bouquet, featuring rose, pink jasmine, and carnation, joining the harmonious composition. The drydown further enhances the woodsy notes and makes it seem like freshly cut wood, complemented by musk, moss, and a gorgeous veil of vanilla. It's absolutely stunning and comforting. The fragrance really feel like warm scarf on a chilly autumn day. If you're not familiar with the brand, this one is definitely for this time of the year. Don't hesitate to give it a chance ! This fragrance was loved at first sniff. An amazing captivating fragrance. The opening is all about the rose. Upon spraying you are greeted with the sweetest-smelling rose ever. If you are a rose lover you gotta get your hands on this fragrance. It is so captivating. The choice of pairing it with bergamot and green apple was brilliant. It is sweet, fresh and jammy. Plus it is loud! You will be noticed without trying. I experienced this several times last week. I am a laid-back person, but I was loving it. Can you relate? As the fragrance mellows its true nature starts to form. In the middle, it becomes very floral. You also get some sweetness from the vanilla. It feels almost milky. I also experienced some faint powderiness. It is at this stage that the floral notes also make their presence. Generally, I tend to shy away from florals. I am not a huge fan, but this fragrance is an exception. It is that good. The base of the fragrance is heavenly. Here you are treated to resins, woods, and the most sensual-smelling musk ever. If your partner wears it, I promise you that you won’t stop sniffing them at all. It is that good. The perfect fragrance to cuddle with. An absolute winner in my book.
