Al Awsaaf

Initially, I attempted to purchase "Lattafa - Wafa", however, the purchase went waaaaaaaay left and the bottle got sent across the country 2x and took 4 months to arrive in my neighborhood only to go to the wrong house and then it was stolen. I received a refund and pretty much was told "Good luck, goodbye". Unfortunately that was the last available bottle (At a normal sane price) in the USA online. So I'd resolved to build a clone of the fragrance myself when I happened to see "Lattafa - Al Awsaaf" on this site and read the reviews, watched review videos and researched the fragrance. I believe that this will be an improvement to what I expected to received from "Wafa", so in the end...it all worked out. If this winds up being a "Chocolate version of Tobacco Vanille" on my skin, I will be so happy. So VERY happy! According to all of the reviewers below...this will be right up my alley! Thank you all for leaving your impression of the fragrance so that the rest of us can have an idea of how it smells. <3 Review incoming... 27JUL24 REVIEW: Wow...this is soooo much like the "Tobacco Vanille" clone I picked up a few years back from a clone house in Chicago (that I no longer do business with). So this was a welcome find/experience, considering it has a strong note of the same type of cacao that's in my vintage bottle of DHI. The brighter, more vibrant version of "TV" that this fragrance brings is sooo much more enjoyable than the clone of "TV" that I made myself. I greatly enjoyed this fragrance...until the far far dry down...lol. The fragrance arrived yesterday afternoon, and I wore it last night to an evening event that I attended. I could smell it the entire time I was out and I had an awesome cloud of scent around me the entire time. I got a familiar "tobacco-vanille" experience but MUCH brighter! It does indeed have an "Effervescence" to it in the first 30-45 minutes and I don't know what causes that...BUT I LIKE IT! I almost oversprayed it because I wanted to keep experiencing that freshy-fizzy burst in the opening. But common-sense got the best of me and I kept it at 6 sprays. The fragrance felt very linear up until the very drydown..where it switched from a chocolaty "Tobacco-vanille" to a spicy "Grand Soir" skin-scent. What you smell in the opening...is what you keep on smelling through the entire ACTIVE wear...and that's great!! No comments or compliments, but I expected as much. I never really ever get compliments on any middle-eastern fragrances for some reason. The only negative in this that I am experiencing is that there is "Benzoin" in this fragrance. I know that Benzoin isn't listed in the notes but some combination of the notes is causing that effect. But other than that, this fragrance IS my "TV" replacement for this upcoming winter season!! I'm going to put this away until it gets colder and then see how it does. For now...if I want a spicy frag for the summer and fall, I'm falling back on my all-time fave...Red Tobacco. When the snow falls, I'll take this one back out and see if its changed at all. I'll update this review when the colder weather hits. 23OCT24 UPDATE: This has blossomed into the most AMAZING fragrance!! "Spicy-chocolatey-floral-musky-woody-vanilla" is the closest description of what this has become! My goodness...this is amazing! I spent the entire lunchbreak running errands and just marvelling in the scent cloud I had surrounding me. This may be my fall/winter "Dumb Reach" fragrance! (This actually may get a backup bottle purchased!)

When I researched extensively on this fragrance, I came across, and still come across these keywords: Ambre Tabac by Daniel Josier, Lattafa Khamrah, PDM Oajan, Spicebomb extreme, Tomford tobacco vanille, Tomford Noir extreme, Ck shock & Zara warm black. Now, when I sprayed Al awsaaf for the first time, I started to get the vibes of Carolina Herrera Nightfall Patchouli mixed with tobacco vanille (this was what prompted my research). Having seen those keywords, I can easily connect something- this is a DNA that has facets of different fragrances, but most especially is that of Hermes Ambre narguile DNA, with cinnamon and vanilla linking the majority of those keywords, too. This might be Lattafa's attempt at that Ambre narguile DNA, but with a twist of maybe Spicebomb extreme and tobacco vanille. I love this fragrance. My first impression on this is high. This is really a hidden gem. I'm still new to it, I'll study it and then when I finally understand it, I'll drop a detailed review. Also, I don't trust these fragrantica notes. NOTES I GET: Rum, Cinnamon, Patchouli, Tonka bean, Sandalwood, Tobacco, Cedar, Licorice, Ginger, Vanilla, Cola, Honey and Some spices and raisins. Edit- I saw two people who bodily claimed this was inspired by Penhaligon Roaring Radcliff(which have tobacco vanille vibes, too). Roaring Radcliff is discontinued, and not many people are vast with Penhaligon's fragrances, so, there's a possibility that it's why not many have drawn the connection yet. But clone or not, I don't care. Lattafa Al Awsaaf is a very lovely smelling fragrance.

You will constantly hear reviewers say "this will make you smell like an Arabian Prince" and they are usually talking about Carlisle or some disgustingly fecal oud Amouage fragrance. I think Carlisle makes you smell like batman and fecal oud makes you smell like, well, fecal oud 😭. This fragrance though taps into the real essence of an "Arabian Prince" it smells of exotic spices, incense and resins like elemi and myrrh, dark and powerful woods like cedar and wearable oud, an earthy patchouli, oud, and oakmoss, and finally a sweet but realistic tonka bean to balance it all together. It really feels like something a 10th century Arabian King would wear to consult his subjects. Am I drunk while writing this? Yes. Am I somewhat overhyping it? Absolutely. But does it smells good? Hell yeah. 8.7/10 🥂

Got this today, I genuinely don’t get the Oajan and Spicebomb comparisons. Imma let it macerate but so far all I get is this Balsamic and Ambery Sweetness with a tiny bit of spice. Reminds me of Barrakat Ambre Eve and Ferragamo Uomo. And not Oajan or Spicebomb Extreme. Still smells good though but I was expecting a more sweet version of SB extreme and this isn’t it. Ive had fragrances change on me like Turathi Blue, Barrakat Ambre Eve and Asad just to name a few. So I wouldn’t be surprised if this changes within the next month or two I lied, sprayed on skin and I 100% get way more spice. Definitely not Oajan or SBE. But its a nice Resinous/Balsamic with a almost Gourmand spice. So far Smell 9/10 Projection 5/10 Longevity 5/10 Price 10/10

A solid unisex fragrance. Im super feminine and my husband is ultra masculine and we both wear this and garish many compliments. I find fragrances with an elemi note as well as pink pepper can work well with most peoples body chemistry. This is a beautiful, rich, spicey, intriguing scent that will definitely have strangers ask what you are wearing. I get 10 to 12 hours longevity on clothes and about 8 hrs on skin. This is not a dupe for anything although I see realtons with the fragrances listed. Affordable. Is it a safe blind buy? Well that's what I did and I am very happy. Licorice isbt listed as a note but on my skin I do get licorice or anise.

This one makes me want to hear The Vivaldi Trio song "Christmas Time is Here" aka The Charlie Brown Christmas song. It has all the scents of the holiday, citrus, chocolate, a whiff of pine, spices...takes me back to my fond memories of my childhood in Compton and Carson, California. reminds me of a Christmas mash up, spices, orange, Christmas trees...all good! I have to add, I reviewed this and let me tell you: This is a slept on fragrance. This was a blind buy for me and it was a little bit more than my 20-25.00 limit, but it is worth every penny. Great for any weather but really shines during fall/winter. I am going to wear this today!

I would like to order a chai, but make it with chocolate milk please ! Why hasn't this been hyped up to the Heavens is beyond me. I can't confirm how close it is to Spicebomb extreme because it's been a while since I last smelled it. And no , it's not a dupe for Noir Extreme or TV though there are similarities. It is in that same family and if you like those, you will definitely like this one too. Perfectly unisex, and performance all around is pretty good. Suitable for Fall/winter and would be a great choice for date night. It's mind-blowing that you can get something this good for under $20usd.

This one sits somewhere closer to in-between Tom Ford Noir Extreme and Mancera Tonka Cola than it does Spicebomb Extreme, and I have had them all. Definitely a deeper patchouli in this than Tonka Cola, but it does smell more synthetic. It also has some striking similarity to TF Noir Extreme to my nose. It's a very nice offering, but I would not buy it again because I have a few similar frags I much prefer and I doubt I will ever put much of a dent in my bottle. I have only worn this a few times and I never really reach for it.

A cup of milky, spicy chai in a bottle. Wow, I'm so happy I came across this one on YouTube. I mainly get wood and plenty of spice notes in the dry down, such as cinnamon, cardamom and tonka. It's on the sweeter side, but not overly so. There's definitely some similarity to Spicebomb Extreme, but Al Awsaaf is more unisex in my opinion. It lasts about 10 hours on my skin and til the next day on fabric. Projection is moderate, but I enjoy its spicy scent bubble for hours. Backup bottle is on the way.

It's smells like a mature combination of gingerbread and Dr. Pepper, but I can smell a little chocolate every now and then. The sillage isn't extremely strong, but the longevity is outstanding. It easily lasts several days on clothing, and lasts about a full day on my skin (although it becomes a skin scent 8-9 hours in). This is what I would describe as pleasant, but not exciting. It doesn't give you an extreme boost in dopamine when you smell it but it does give off a general sense of ease.

Okay here with an updated review! After 3 months of owning this now smells like a Hybrid Between Spicebomb Extreme/Grand Soir. It has the spice from Spicebomb and the Ambery Vanilic Smell from Grand Soir. I still get Zero Oajan. And Oajan has been my signature scent all winter! Since SB is my 2nd favorite fragrance I wish the spice was heavier and the sweetness was toned down. Because if so this could’ve easily surpassed Spicebomb as my second favorite.

Al Awsaaf by Lattafa smells like the holidays done right. Ambar, tobacco, spices and even a bit piney... cozy, warm and addictive. To me, it gives more Hermes Amber Narguilé vibes than SpiceBomb, but with a sweeter cola twist in the opening. Sexy, unisex and bold without being too much. Longevity is no joke: 10–12h on clothes, around 8h on skin. Perfect for fall and winter. Low-key slept on. High-key deserves more hype in my opinion.

Wow...what a difference! I don't think I've worn this one since the first two times I wore it when new last fall. I took it out today and sprayed some on...maaaaaan...this has changed for the better SO MUCH!! And it wasn't bad way back when I first got it! Smooth warm gingery vanilla with some spices and chocolate mixed in... This fragrance is the physical embodiment of a "Sade" song...complete SMOOTH OPERATOR!

This smells identical to Qaa'ed to my nose. Very nice. This is a like, not a love. I don't get the comparison to Spicebomb Extreme at all. It is reminiscent of Noir Extreme to some degree. I will update my review as I have more time with it. Performance is great, long lasting and good silage. Definitely better for winter and autumn wear, especially nights.

Totally agree with mrbanana, awsaaf opens up sparkly like dark fizzy drinks (cola/cherry to my nose) if u smell it up close. After letting this dries down, somehow reminded me of spicebomb extreme & bulgari man in black with hints of cinnamon. Moderate sillage with great longevity (around 8 hours). Lovely stuff, a bargain for the price

Really very intense scent reminiscent of something in between spicebomb extreme and tobacco vanille. Its price is too low compared to its quality. Pure winter scent that is hard to wear in the warmer months. One of Lattafa's most beautiful perfumes. Recommended for those who like spicy fragrances

Cinnamon rolls on hot woods with a glass of cherry coke nearby. A delicious, higher end designer-smelling treat for autumn, both I and my husband can't wait to bathe in it as soon as we put on a sweater again.

Spicebomb Extreme Alternative with a Cola twist and sometimes some TF Noir Extreme comes through. Best low budget winter scent in years! Lasts forever, is cheap (at least in Europe) and brings compliments!

to me it smells like coca-cola mixed with some cinammon and christmas cookies, very nice and warm. performance is great for the price lasting about 6-7 hours and projecting decently for the first 2.

The opening smells like TF Tobacco Vanille(for me),but after a couple of minutes its became a delicious cinnamon roll on my skin. It's long lasting with solid sillage and low price tag.

@Sweekend is spot on. This is a delicious rum and coke with spices and vanilla. I am blown away at how nice this smells. And I got a brand new bottle for 14 dollars. Whah a steal!

Small update: I finally found the perfect layering item with this frag. "PHILLIP PLEIN - NO LIMIT$" This...plus the fresh bright leather of that one....HEAVENLY!!

A bit of this and a bit of that but still manages to do it's own thing. Lovely fragrance for the price. Smells high quality and no issues with longevity.

It is a more creamier and airy version of Nasheet by Lattafa. I prefer this as a woman. This is a love for me for year round.

To me this is as if Grand Soir and Babycat had a baby wrapped in licorice.

Update: After a couple months of maturation, it smells like 60% Grand Soir mixed with 30% of something honey-adjacent (all the scent qualities of delicious honey without actually smelling exactly like honey). And maybe 10% of something adjacent to butterscotch hard candies. It would totally be an elegant gourmand but it doesn't realistically resemble an actual food, hence it's semi-gourmand - very similar in theme to Grand Soir. It's really delicious and smells edible though, all the while being elegant; again, like how Grand Soir is - although not as incredibly elegant as Grand Soir. Genuinely almost as good as Grand Soir and Naxos, which is not to say it smells like them; it's just to illustrate how good this smells. I'm really surprised that such good juice is in this random old Lattafa bottle. I assume this is discontinued (thank f*ck I bought 4 bottles; and I should've gotten more) but they should make more and send it to influencers - ugly bottle and all. The hilariously goofy bottle and cheap price juxtaposed with the incredible juice is exemplary of the earlier days of falling in love with affordable Middle-Eastern fragrances. Presentations with Middle-Eastern fragrances now rival designer and niche presentations; but this goofy bottle is such a throw-back to earlier times, and yet the juice is absolutely good enough to still be relevant in today's marketplace. Look, you don't need this fragrance - there are enough amazing Middle-Eastern clones that smell amazing and a couple-dozen that smell even better than this if you are able to smell enough to discover them (for context, I've smelt maybe ~900 affordable Middle-Eastern fragrances; and ~1300 fragrances total so far). This is just an iconic Lattafa in my opinion; and all the more because I assume it's an original creation. --- First smell off test strip, so take this lightly, but it smells like a rounded out and smoother Paris Corner Mysterious Tobacco (clone of Carolina Herrera Mystery Tobacco). I’m getting 70% of that tobacco-amber or 'red tobacco' accord (no wet tobacco though) mixed with 30% ordinary sweet amber like in MFK Grand Soir. Typically that tobacco-amber accord can be screechy, but here it’s very smooth. This comes off as a moderately-sweet, sticky-smelling, and slightly resinous tobacco-amber-amber. It smells yummy. Somehow after an hour I think I’m getting a dark plum at 30% prominence in here too, resembling Maison Alhambra Hercules (clone of PDM Herod). I understand the Spicebomb Extreme + Grand Soir comparisons. But I more so get what I described above. It also smells like Fragrance World Tabac N Coke + MFK Grand Soir. (Tabac N Coke is heavy on that tobacco-amber accord.)

Nose Note #330 Yes, it must be very similar to Spicebomb Extreme. I have the OG just "Spicebomb" and it similar to that too. Also has this note that transfers from cherry to iris to something chocolatey to something spicy. I really wanted to like Spicebomb, but alas, when I got my hands on it - it was a major dissapointment. I just didn't connect with it. Same here. I just don't like it that much. It's definately a very interesting and alluring perfume, but I bought it at a time when I was on a hit streak for fragrances that have an eastern touch - oud, spices, smoke, myrrh and the rest. And Al Awsaaf, just like Spicebomb, simply fades into this massive line of fragrances. So my impression was smeared. What's there to know: - it's sweet - it's somewhat spicy - it's not literally a "spicebomb" compared to like Amouage Interlude Man or MANY others - it has this unusual and not 100% pleasant note or accord that changes shapes - it's strong - not for everyday - beautiful presentation - super low price You can blind-buy it, because it's universally considered to be a pleasant DNA, but you will have to get used to it. I think Spicebomb is more of an acquired taste P.S. #Plusdeplacenyc - I don't get Grand Soir, Babycat and licorice mix comparison. Licorice - yes. Grand Soir - 10%. Babycat - no #Can'tstopsniffingmywrist - I have the opposite opinion. Depending on where you work... And to me - this 100% has an identity on its own

This one was one of the first fragrances I bought. It smells very familiar, also to people who don't wear fragrances. Making this mass appealing. It's very sweet and a blend of vanilla and slight tobacco. I don't get much else. Looking at the note breakdown, maybe some myrrh in the background. Then, and now this one is still one of the cheapest and strongest frageances I have ever smelled. Therefore I would say hardcore bang for the buck. Is it similar to something? Not really. It leans a bit towards TF's Noir Extreme but very strongly simplified. There is no nutmeg, no distinct quality tobacco, no sweet kulfi or dry cardamom. It's a sweeten up version of it. Very easily to like and very long lasting, I think you can even get it for as low as 10€ which really is cheap. Cannot go wrong with it and even if you don't like it, there will always be someone in you family who will appreciate sweet scents. Edit: There are some people who voted this being similar to Spicebomb Extreme, I have both, and no. There are no similarities to that one, except that both are sweet scents. To my knowledge there are dupes of SBE, but they are not very good ones. Anyway, if you are looking for a dupe of SBE, this one is definitely not it.

before I address anything else let me get this out the way..IT'S CHEAPPPP!! Cheap to the extent actually making the purchase was challenging my sense of good judgment..but eventually my curiosity got the better of me after perusing through reviews & i pulled the trigger. The Spicebomb resemblance i can sort of see from what I can remember & if you remove the blatant kulfi note from TF Noir Extreme the remaining scent if you look for it kind of has similarities. All in all this fragrance is smooth..not for the price..just smooth period! A very nose friendly combination of musk, cola, light pencil shavings & a honeyed sandalwood vanilla. The cola is reminiscent of Roja Enigma & although people say that note dissipates rather quickly my bottle performance says, hold my beer. I'm eager to see what this transitions to, being that this is my 1st wear knowing full well that maturation works wonders with Lattafa brand products. Make no mistake though its delightful straight out of the packaging & if i'd sampled it blind the scent profile is giving Xerjoff archetype.

Awsaaf is interesting. I let my bottle sit for several months. This seems to be an original creation, not a straight dupe of anything particular. It reminds me heavily of Bvlgari Man in Black or SpiceBomb extreme except it has a sweeter cola twist in the opening. That sweet twist fades rather quickly as it dries leaving Awsaaf with a similar vibe, especially to Man in Black. Awsaaf is less complex, projects less, and is missing tobacco notes, like you would expect for a cheaper scent vs MIB. Aswaaf also dries down with a bit more powdery than MIB. That’s why I think this is a unique creation. It has decent performance 4-5 hours. A great gem for $25 or less. Not signature scent worthy, but a good fall selection if you like cheapies.

Talk about gourmand in a budget! this is under $20 and if you smell it without knowing it’s Lattafa I can play a trick or two and make you believe this is some discontinued gem and sell it to you (hypothetically speaking) 4 times its price and you will happily buy it, matter fact you might ask for a second back up bottle lol. It’s like a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of hot chocolate cake. There is a desert called molten lava cake, I think this is a great way to epitomize it. This is not a sugar bomb like you may think, it’s actually well balanced and beautifully blend it. Sits close to the skin after 1 hour but it’ll last 12 hours on skin and maybe a month on fabric. 8.5/10

Got this babe a week ago, sprayed and waited (as we should for Lattafas to mature). Back then it did smell like Spicebomb extreme, bit cold, spice forward blast. This morning the balsamic notes came forward providing a golden rich base, reminiscent of sweet tobacco and amber. The spices are still there, however, it is much better blended. This one is a warm and cozy winter frag for sure, will be in rotation. Cannot believe the price/value here. Got it for like 15 euros, but if this was marketed under a hyped high-end brand, would sell it for many times that much. Insane!

@DallasM this is most definitely NOT Man in Black..maybe Man in off-black or man who pretends he's black but otherwise just no..they both contain a spicy component yes..but the Lattafa also has a cola accord & sweetness that MIB just doesnt..thats kind of like saying because 2 men are tall they are very similiar instead of judging them in totality..furthermore, i really enjoy & can appreciate Awsaaf whereas MIB gives me meh, i'll pass vibes..check your nose🙏🏿

A spicy, semi-sweet, somewhat exotic blend... as someone below said, smells like Cola.. I get cinnamon, maybe some cloves, incense and some woody spices. Great for a fall day or evening. Strong, but not overpowering. Pleasant like the smell of fall potpourri. Wear this with a sweater, flannel shirt or blazer for a trek looking at the changing leaf colors in New England in the fall...

Very nice cool weather fragrance that would be a nice date night juice. Has some hints of TF Noir Extreme and Lattafa Qaa'ed. Dry woods and cinnamon in the dry down with some sweet spicy notes off the top. Good quality and not off putting in any way... Safe blind buy if you are into this type of fragrance. Enjoy!

Spicy fragrance which resembles Lattafa Qaa'ed, V&R Spicebomb and a like TF Noir Extreme. Very nice for the price. Great for fall and winter nights. I have a few now that are in this vein. This is just a like for me due to resembling others from the same house...

Al Awsaaf is a very unique scent that smells like some sort of mildly sweet gelatin dessert, somehow also chocolatey. It has a strong balmy, gel-like texture; the texture is so thick that it almost feels as solid as gummy bear.

As a woman, i layer this scent with lattafa's pure musk. it is a beautiful combo. I would not wear it on it's on as it pulls rather masculine for me.

Starts of With spicy Rum and Coke, then goes spicebomb into spicebomb vanilla. Honestly for the price which was really cheap this is a banger.

just need to wait like 30 minutes, and it smells marvelous.

Maybe my expectations were too high after hearing this is a clone of Spicebomb Extreme. It does have the SBE DNA, quite a beautiful scent but the addition of oud kind of throws me off a litte Another critique is, the performance is weird. On one hand, it lasts very long on my clothes. On my skin however, it fades quite fast, at around 2.5 hours, despite having oud notes. Also never wear this in hot/humid areas, it'll fade faster. Still a beautiful scent, just hoped Lattafa didn't forget this one as much as it has

I respect enthusiasts of some cheap fragrances (and I've found some incredible ones for £10), but this is not the case. The problem is that they promote it as a masterpiece like SBE, and the only thing they have in common is the spiciness. In this one, the synthetic scent doesn't fade as it dries, and that's what puts it on the ‘bedding freshener’ shelf. There are very few occasions when a perfume that comes on the market at £30 and ends up at £7 is really worth it.

It's a knockoff of Spicebomb Extreme but if you owned S.E. you will notice the difference. It's a lot more synthetic and doesn't have the warm deep spices of SE. Has more of a Christmassy smell to it. Maybe Spicebomb Extreme and By the Fireplace mix. I've had it for a long time and it's just one I don't find myself reaching for it. Spicebomb and SBE on the other hand I loved and went through rather quickly.

It's a bombardment of tonka and amber in the base, like so many "elixirs". Smells rough.

Wow, the quality to price ratio on this one is incredible. It's no hype: this does smell like Spicebomb Extreme with a cola opening and chai finish. And yet somehow it's unisex, or maybe I just like it so much that I ignore that it is sold as being for men. One of the best recent releases from Lattafa, yet strangely overlooked. Decent longevity and moderate sillage for this genre; Spicebomb Extreme can be smelled from the next block, at least on my husband, but Al-Awsaaf projects moderately, which makes it more wearable really. I love the dark cola note at the bottom of this stuff, seriously good even in slightly warm weather (have not tried it in the heat, but it's more of all fall/winter smell). If you layer it with a tuberose bomb (Narcotic Venus) you get this bizarre niche smell that actually works - smells like it was designed that way. Spicebloom Extreme.

I tried this first spray on arrival 6 weeks ago, then it was a lovely cinnamon amber woody spice that promised much. 6 weeks after being in the cupboard has done little to improve it and its a pleasant but rather bland and ineffective pink peppery vanilla. not much amber or wood or smoke to give it character and low to average projection and longevity. This is the kind of fragrance you would wear to work and probably nowhere else. Nice enough sure, but just bland and lacking an identity. I'm going to hold onto it and use it sometimes though, there's nothing to dislike about it and its pretty subtle which suits the mood sometimes. 7/10 for me

I'm de-cluttering and started to give this gem away. I purchased this right when fall hit. I was initially disappointed because I had high expectations reading the reviews. BUT, I'm starting to understand that with MOST Lattafa perfumes, you HAVE to let them sit. I sprayed out of curiosity, and I'll just say I'M KEEPING THIS ONE! Sexy and unisex leaning masculine, this is a smoking, spicy, dark and lovely scent. I'm SO happy I spayed it! If you like the profile DNA this is a safe blind buy.
