Comprehensive REVIEW: Ameer Al Oudh Intense Oud is a rich creamy sugar and vanilla blend, well supported by a lightly roasted chestnut-iness and a noticeably exceptional use of smoky wood(s), perfectly complimented by sweet clean oud, herbal/medicinal spirits and hints of dark cacao, all brought together for a VERY captivating experience! Incredibly, there are actually (3) different woods "working" here separately, and at the same time---dry smoky woods, smooth soft-sweet smoky sandalwood, and sweet agarwood (oud); with the smokiness ideally and pleasantly balanced. Full disclosure: Some here are not fond of the fairly pronounced herbal/medicinal essence overlaying the 20-minute open, or even its subsequently more reserved presence within the fragrance---while most will appreciate what it brings to the composition in aura, creativity, and dimension. This ambery-colored fragrance is dusty, rich and warm, cozy-sweet, enjoyably calming, enrapturing, and inviting. A predominantly unisex fragrance, though leaning masculine for some women (primarily due to the smoky woods). It's also a solid entry-level consideration if you'd like to take a real first step into "oud". (ie. having more than just a slight hint or touch of it). The clean sweet oud here is noticeably present but not overwhelmingly so, being superbly executed, much a result of the composition's truly exceptional blending. .....The late stages of this fragrance transition into a smooth, soft sweet, very slightly smoky, nutty-woody experience, keeping your attention to the very end as a skin scent. AAOIO is a similar "style" of fragrance to By The Fireplace, but definitely not a clone of BTF. Think of it along the lines of a very exceptional "inspired by BTF" fragrance, having its own character. Rather shocking for its price, it's virtually a niche-level experience in both quality and composition! And because it's not the bold smoky fireplace "statement" fragrance that BTF is, along with having a sweeter disposition, AAOIO's greater wearability is a comparative strength relative to BTF. I have dry under-performing skin, but "average" performance--based on the ratings above--looks to be about 9 hours longevity and 2-3 hours solid projection. Best of all, I can smell AAOIO pleasantly wafting around me much of the time worn. And it's a verified compliment-getter! Fitting for ALL ages 21+ in the cold fall and winter. So if you just happen to be in search of a delightfully warm, inviting and creative cold-weather "hidden" GEM for cheap..... I bought this as a blind buy, and have never smelled By the Fireplace so I am rating it on its own merit rather than as a dupe. My first impressions of this were that the bottle is HUGE, and heavy. Underwhelming design but for the 20 bucks I paid I don't really care. It's going to take me forever to get through this bottle, especially considering that I only really need one or two sprays of this on my skin to be smelling it all day. Projection and longevity are great. It was projecting strongly for the first hour or two. After that it got closer but still noticeable, and for the remaining 9 or so hours it was a persistent skin scent. I used one spray on skin at around 10pm and woke up at 11 the next day still smelling it. The scent itself is great. It opens with a huge wave of sugary vanilla, with the oud and woody notes becoming more prominent after that initial blast. It gets smokier in the dry down; not really a woodsmoke odor but more of a woody burnt sugar. The oud is very present, not fecal at all to my nose, and adds a welcome layer to the scent (as an oud lover). The whole journey feels warm and snug, although I think it could get a little overwhelming in hot weather or with too many sprays. I didn't get any herbal notes at all, but hopefully they will emerge as it ages. The initial bomb of scent made me dizzy, but I was extremely hungry and probably just oversensitive due to that. My partner likes it but wouldn't wear it, as he is a fan of more heavily masculine frags. This is definitely unisex. We both think it would be interesting to layer it with something musk-forward. My only real problem with this frag is the atomizer; mine has a tendency to squirt before it sprays which is annoying. I might just be limp wristing the pump because I'm afraid of applying too much, but it's a good thing to be aware of.

So many reviews say that this fragrance is comparable to niche brands and its price point is no reflection of the juice in the not so great bottle. They are right. AalO is a dark, warm, vanilla, sugar, oud bomb. Does it start with a sharp alcohol smell? Yes, but it dissipates in less than 60 seconds. Once it dries down, I get a sugary and warm oud that seems to get stronger once all the molecules settle and as it moves into the heart notes. And though I'm not a gourmand girlie, I really love the sugar in this. It's like a piece of oud that has been sprinkled with a coarse sugar and then wrapped in a vanilla syrup. If you don't like oud then skip this but if you are exploring oudy compositions, AalO is a fairly safe blind buy. Very much a fall/winter scent but also great before bed in cooler spring weather. Great projection but not necessarily in a good way for an office environment. Clubbing in cold weather, walks in the woods, snuggled up under a blanket with a hot drink and a book while the wind howls and the snow falls: all yeses. Longevity is great if that's important to you. Unisex but might lean slightly masculine. The sugar keeps it in the middle, in my opinion. Ameer is not a safe blind buy if you prefer baked goods and photo realistic foody fragrances, fruity florals and "pink" perfumes. I'm old and don't care what others think so I'll be wearing Ameer al Oude whenever I feel like it. It's in my top 5, all time faves.

I completely agree with @serjiqi a few reviews down from me. Even after having this scent for about a year, the performance is still NOT as great as many claim it is, but it does have "above average" performance, say 5 to 6 hours on skin depending on how much you spray. Thing is ya can't spray too much bc the projection is quite strong initially for a good 2 hours, so getting great longevity by over-spraying Ameer Al Oud Intense Oud can be tricky bc ya dont wanna be "That guy/gal" whoes gassing the place up when you arrive. I tried layering with iso e super and it blends really well and does help with longevity. Ameer Al Oud Intense Oud smells fan-freakin-tastic imo. Many complain about the "Synthetic Oud" but I find that it smells great along with the smoky woods and the airy sweetness of the burnt sugar accord/note, and the crazy $18 pricepoint, its a damn STEAL for sure and it STILL smells amazing when compared to Lattafa's newer releases. Plus its the perfect time of year for rocking this scent.. Fall/Winter😉

The people who are hating on this are snobs who spend $1000s on perfumes only to be mad a cheap frag outclasses their entire collection of pungent rubbish. It's 90% BTF, with a middle eastern twist. Starts of smokey, then this creamy vanilla note and sugar note shines through, with a woody/smokey smell remaining in the background. I get a hint of chocolate or dark cacao in this too. Performance and longevity is BEAST, sprayed 2 on me, took a shower and could still smell it the next day. Spray it in the air it will stay in your room for a good 2 days. It's creamy, woody, nutty, sweet and just sublime all around. Its rich and inviting, the smell itself is relaxing and itll get you through those colder days It is a STEAL for its price. Do not let the snobs convince you that you need to spend a fortune to smell good and get a bottle with a fancy brand.

I love it, I love it — utterly addicted to oud and sweet and smoke smoke smokey right now and this hits on all accords. I don’t care if it’s summer, I happily shower myself in this scent; especially before bed. I don’t wanna smell like a fruit salad or coconut or suntan lotion, I just want oud and smoke 💨 this summer. Because it’s Lattafa I wonder if it needs more mascerating time but I am already sooooo in love. I can only dream it’s going to get more intense if so. 🤎 I love it so much I decided to hunt down a bottle of BTFP to compare it to — I’ll update. Update: my BTFP was so interesting , also smokey but not so sweet. But this is so much cheaper, it’s a win on all fronts. I’ll have this on repeat buy for a long time in my collection. I can’t believe the dent I’ve put in the juice in just a few weeks of use.

I just don't understand why people buy Middle Eastern scents and complain they can't pull them off in their environment. Ameer al Oud is a fragrance of its own, I wouldn't say it is a dupe, might remind you of another perfume but that's just it. It is a gorgeous, unisex scent, easy to wear and for any occasion and weather. Just don't bathe in it. Sweet, a tad bit smokey with just about the right amount of herbal notes to balance the sweetness. It's rather simple yet rich fragrance. Very sexy. If you had different expectations because you thought it's a dupe, that's nothing to do with the reality. I live in Europe and I can pull it off anywhere. I mean anywhere. Today I had two of my clients asking what perfume it is and didn't waste time ordering it online while still in my office. It is a 10 out of 10 for me.

I compared By the Fireplace and this one in Sephora. It is not 1:1. They are similar, but it is not the same. I'd treat this more like it's own fragrance. I do think this one goes heavier on both the oud and the vanilla. It's a very strong scent. I have a pretty sensitive nose, and I had to spray this around my lower chest or belly area. I'm very confident many people who say a scent is weak is because they average over 5 sprays and already went nose-blind to lighter/average projection. The people around me could smell it even when I sprayed it once on my lower chest. Amazing woody/vanilla scent. Just don't go crazy with the sprays. Don't forget the average person isn't a heavy fragrance-sprayer like most fragrantica users.

Very good versatile cold weather fragrance I think I bought it couple years ago when it was hyped up for about $19 you can't beat it. Still got a pretty full bottle probably because regardless of price it's pretty beast mode only need about 2-3 sprays and it will project pretty heavy, last you the full day, it's a very sweet kind of syrupy and smoky scent easy to pull off. Longevity is good scent is good it's like a smoky vanilla cinnamon Bourbon and versatile for pretty much all cold weather events bar, Christmas dinner, Thanksgiving dinner whatever. I can't find any faults especially at that price only that it's a bit synthetic but for $19 and the projection easy 9/10

don't get me wrong, i love this scent! however, the opening is very unpleasant and takes quite a while to dry down into something wearable, that's why i usually spray it on 20 minutes or so before i leave the house. after the initial spray, it's really warm and uplifting (on my skin at least) and i've gotten a lot of compliments on it. the projection is pretty damn good and it lasts my entire shift (10 hours!). it's not exactly like By The Fireplace, a little less smoky and a bit more sweet, but it's a good affordable option if you want something with a similar feel/similar notes. overall its a great scent and i wear it almost everyday. i like!

I wore this the other day and all I can say is " wow ". This stuff is an incredible value, my bottle was about $18 off of one of the discounters online. The only thing, I would say is, I don't wear this a lot because it has a very Middle Eastern vibe going on. I told the wife, when I wear this I smell like a Saudi Arabian sheik or something....lol. But value for money is incredible. Cost is a huge bargain and you get a scent that lasts a long time and projects very well. For $18, it's a total blind buy safe fragrance. Even if, like me, it's not going to be a daily wear. The value and the quality of the fragrance is huge!

Lattafa Intense Oud is a really damn good cologne. I mostly smell the woody notes, sugar, and Vanilla with my bottle. This cologne is also surprisingly strong and lasts quite long. I love how the woody notes blend with the sugar and vanilla, and even though it's unisex, for me it at least still smells manly even with the sugar and vanilla notes. Definitely going to wear this one a lot during the fall and winter seasons, as it as best for fall/winter wear. Also it smells amazing for such a cheap price!! My bottle is just shy of a year old and it's changed a bit, so I'm updating my review. This is ridiculously good. I mean, it was before too, but now it's developed this gorgeously sweet herbal facet that reminds me of that bright green candied angelica that used to be in fruitcakes, and it's soft, just enough to enhance and bring interest to all the sweet, dry, oudy vanilla. 12h longevity with a low intensity moderate sillage from a few wide sprays over light moisturiser and a few quarter pumps to pulse points. Beautiful in all weathers too, go lighter in the heat tho obv.

It’s not an accurate comparison to ‘By the fireplace’, like at all. There’s some great smoky notes for sure, but it’s very much its own thing entirely. In all honesty, it’s infinitely better than by the fireplace because the longevity is INSANE. I’ve taken a shower and still could smell it on my skin, it can last on my clothes for days afterwards, etc. By the fireplace’s biggest flaw is it doesn’t last whatsoever, so this one is great in comparison, especially for the great price. Overall, it’s definitely a little bit more masculine leaning, but it’s still fairly unisex.

This is by far nothing close to being a BTF dupe, not even a single percent. Talking about how the showcased "notes" on this god forsaken website are once again... WRONG, this is a very smokey, slightly oud-y, resinous, heavily saffron forward fragrance in the likes of Crystal Saffron from Matiere Premiere - the scent profiles aren't that different. I don't get any "sugar" or "vanilla", it has a small tap of sweetness and that's about it. It's absolutely great value for the money - you do get a nice heavy glass bottle with a beautiful juice inside.

The open is a noticeably different from BTFP although on drydown it's like 90% similar and I doubt most people smelling it on you could tell the difference. With price and performance considered this is easily one of my best blind buys and I don't feel the need to own BTFP anymore. I would agree this leans a little more masculine than the original which is fine for me as I'm very masculine. And as you've assume this is going to be a very cold/night kind of scent not something you'd ever wear in summer.

Mainly just fancy spiced coca-cola, not intensely oud-y. It's warm, sweet-ish, spicy-fizzy, and very enjoyable across the board. Performance, though? Dear god, it lasts forever. You'd better like it (to be fair, it's quite likeable) bc you'll never get away from it once you spray it. Like if you get some on your pillowcase, that's your new default bedtime scent for the week. Get some on the lining of an overcoat? You will catch wafts of it LITERALLY FOREVER, or until you have occasion to dry-clean

Oooo My first Lattafa & I am impressed! This is a great frag for the price. This is VERY similar to Phlur Vanilla Smoke, which I also own & love. I can also see the similarity to By The Fireplace (also own & love), that's noted in a lot of comments below. It's like BTFP minus the chestnut note. If you like BTFP or Vanilla Smoke, this is probably a safe blind buy. For the price, you can't go wrong with this. Decent strength & longevity. Very much enjoying this. Good job Lataffa.

Ameer Al Oud is a rich and powerful fragrance that leans heavily on deep oud and warm spicy notes. It has a bold and luxurious feel with a slightly sweet undertone that balances the intensity. I have to take back what I said in my review a few days ago about this fragrance not smelling like BTFP. I'll say in the beginning it smells nothing like it. It just smells like a nice woody fragrance with some added sugar and vanilla. But as it gets to rhe dry down some how some way this faint smokiness creeps its way to the top to round off the vanillic dry down and the wood base. This all happens around 20 to 30 minutes. And then its hard to tell the two apart.

I’ve intentionally waited for my bottle to mature for a few months before giving my thoughts on this, and I’m glad I have because like most ME fragrances, it has changed for the better. I find this to be sweeter and a bit more wearable than by the fireplace. This is definitely a smoky, woody vanilla, but also has a soft creaminess to my nose. I wear it on occasion already (in fall) but know I will absolutely love it in the cold winter months. This is very nice!

Complete blind buy, got it for $17 off amazon, amazing. Very strong just off 3 sprays, my friends said they could smell me coming all the way up the stairs to the next floor of a building. I don’t know what some people are saying about synthetic or cheap, if you like smoke or sweet I would say it’s blind buy safe for as cheap as I got it. I can imagine this will be a great cuddle scent but we’ll see, longevity wasn’t eternal but it was above average

Initial impression: WOW (and this is right from the first spray). Will definitely compete with my other winter frags. I can see me reaching for this frequently in colder days. I do not detect any smoke or smoky notes just yet. Reminds me of Teriaq Intense, not by the scent or notes, but by how surprised I was when Teriaq matured into a great fragrance. One similarity is that this one also has a boozy and cozy kind of feeling to it, like Teriaq's.

This perfume is too good. Just got a decant First impression Sugary Vanilla + Wood This seems very basic and straight forward with the notes but it smells damn nice and mass appealing. I will definitely buy and use the shit out of it in the winters I have khamrah qahwa but i dont ever use it as it is way too strong and long lasting and cause instant headache whereas the sweetness in intense oud is much different and doesnt cause any headache.

Gave it my first wear of this years autumn/winter. Still getting whiffs a good 11 hours in. I like this, it’s just sweet enough, but super woody and I think of everything I have, this probably gives the most bang for the buck. I think I picked it up for about £18. I have by the fireplace too and to be honest this is more gutsy, if not quite as refined. The similarities are there but it’s certainly no one for one.

my favourite fragrance of all time for cold weather. extremely long-lasting and amazing projection, and i can't stop sniffing myself throughout the day. price is great and it smells more expensive than it actually is. not a safe blind buy as it's pretty strong and some people might not like the smokiness in it so definitely try to smell it on yourself first but i think it's the perfect smoky, sweet, oud blend

just got this in, bought it for the discounted price of $19. 19 BUCKS! cheap as hell, but anyways, initial sniff was straight from skin, not very by the fireplace-y to me, btf is much more smokey and harsh, this is held-back, a sensual woody and very sweet vanilla with a deep, rich smokey background, amazing fragrance, like the warmth of a cozy hug, amazing smell and i will test it tomorrow for performance!!

At first i felt like this was a bad blind buy, but in the right occasion this one is perfect. Smells monotone Arabic DNA, like a shrine. I don't get much sweetness, but I appreciate how balsamic, woody and cozy it is. Very suitable for holy/religious occasions. Clean, aromatic, traditional and not offensive. Surprisingly good layering piece under sweeter fragrances. Moderate projection but survives showers.

wow, i just got this yesterday and... it's one of my best arab dupes i've ever got. it clears khamrah all day, it's more unique, beautiful scent. for this price it's great, not as nauseating as khamrah and way more premium blended. it's like a cozy scent for a cold night in town, the sillage is damn crazy and it lasts a lot (9+h). it's the best fragrance to buy under 20 for a lot of compliments

Sweet oud vanilla, Just gone winter where I am. This is a GREAT fragrance, opens with sweet sugary oud and its amazing. Lasts and projects. ( I have had it sitting for at least a year without touching it 😀) Nothing to do with fire and smoke LOL It starts to dry down to an almost powdery vanilla. Staple in a collection. It's a really fantastic Unisex fragrance especially if you enjoy an Oud

an absolute winter beast and an amazing compliment getter, easily my favorite Lattafa fragrance. Yes, it does smell like By The Fireplace and mainly because of that fiery wood scent but I think I prefer the sweeter, marshmellowy, alcohol, mass appealing aroma that Ameer Al Oud has. Has been my signature for a while and I use it when I need to smell edible yet masculine. 11/10

Are we sure this is a clone? This does not smell like BtFP to me. This is two big round hits of oud with sugar crystals in between. To the people complaining about performance, you may want to have your nose examined. I smell this guy forever, and that’s not a complaint. He does play best with others. Cuoium is his leather daddy soulmate.

The sugary vanilla middle notes are the most prominent, they are the center of this fragrance. Woods encompass these notes, sort of like a woods cabin that houses sugar and vanilla. It will last for several days on clothes, careful not to stain whites. On skin it`s moderate to long lasting and sillage is quite decent for the first 2 hours

A great winter/fall scent. Super cheap, as well. It's a good dupe of Masion Margiela BTF. It's sweet, smoky scent. I've always been a lover of sexy, smoky scents, so this one is a W for me. I'd say that it leans way more masculine than feminine. It lasts a great time, and projects well. I blind bought this and have no regrets.

This fragrance is incredibly strong and synthetic, which is a great thing. It smells very unique (may remind you of burnt rubber) and a single sniff is to be remembered for a lifetime. This is a definition of individuality and creativity. Playfully different. Also it is so cheap they are giving it away in practical terms.

To my nose, the initial spray reminds me of being inside a sauna. The strong aroma of wood. Addicting yet comforting. After a few moments, the sugary sweet aroma of vanilla starts to emerge. This perfume is a stronger version of By the Fireplace and Bois Talisman. For the price and performance, it's definitely a steal.

First of all, don't let the oudh put you off. I can't even smell it. Usually I can but in this one I can't. It's not a dupe for By the Fireplace. It's very similar but not a dupe. You will love this perfume if you enjoy btfp though. Sweet, syrupy, yummy. My body craves it in fall and winter. I just love it.

This fragrance is a layering master. I layer this with a lot of my sweet and unisex feminine leaning frags to make them more masculine. It's also fantastic on its own. Ameer Al Oudh Intense hits way above it's low price tag. Could be a contender for best "bang-for-your buck" fragrance of all time.

Bought it cheap and didn't expect much. I let it mature for about two weeks just like all my colognes and man was i surprised. Long lasting around 8hrs plus. I started layering it with Oud for glory and man it popped both scents. Don't know how By the Fireplace smells but this is a great value.

Very pleasant sweet and smoky winter scent, very similar to by the fireplace, gives the vibe of eating marshmallows by the campfire. Smells like burning wood and vanilla candy, the oud in this is very mild and westernized, not challenging/animalic at all. Overall a great winter scent 7.5/10

I bought this from TikTok recommendations. And what a great perfume, I don’t care if it’s a clone of whatever, the smell is really a by the fire smell. And it puffs out that great smell now and then, when getting warm it smells extra. Should I have to choose one perfume, this is the one.

let me get one thing straight, this smells nothing like btfp while it isnt a great clone, its still a pretty decent fragrance, the drydown is still quite good, but its not very mass appealing which can be an issue but for perfume enthusiasts this smell greats and somewhat unique 7.5/10

Shockingly nice for the price! I'm not a fan of most of the big sweet gourmand dupe-ish scents I've tried (like Kamrah & flankers or Choco Musk) but this is a really nice take on By The Fireplace. It's significantly less smoky, to my nose, which is a shame, but otherwise very similar.

Crazy good fragrance, haven’t expected much from 15€ but these shocked me. They have sharp opening but as they settle down it really becomes amazing scent which carries nostalgic vibes. I did expect for it to be more woody but even without it still is amazing fragrance, love it!

Muuuuuucho mejor que "Fireplace". Su dry down es mas dulce que el original que es ciertamente muy linear. Esta duración es moderada, pero ciertamente 95% similar al OG, pero mucho mas sexy en su secado y evolución. 100% recomendada como alternativa de invierno.

I love this scent, high quality bottle, smell and smells like a woody, sugar dream. It does kinda have a medicinal even dry-down on my skin, BUT it makes it have almost like a lavender note. It really is addicting and a COMPLIMENT MAGNET in cold weather

This is one of my favorite fragrances. I dont think it is a dupe of By the Fireplace. I have them both and find no need to compare. Ameer al Oudh Intense Oud is sweet and woody and perfect on its own or layered. I wear it a lot in the winter.

I genuinely did not expect it to be that good. Very sweet oudy Middle Eastern scent. It needs to macerate a month or two. The opening is very synthetic and you can smell the alcohol, but the dry down is so good, and for that price, great.
