Amwaaj Al Oud

Amwaaj Al Oud (Waves of Oud) is, first and foremost, an interesting quality fragrance from Lattafa. The oud in this fragrance smells somewhat unique and is difficult to describe at first sniff. However, spending some time with this scent I can sense the oriental elements, accompanied by creamy sandalwood, and wrapped in a blanket of smooth semi-sweet oud. It really is quite nice. I have been wearing Lattafa Amwaaj Al Oud for the past 3-4 days. My initial impression is that I like this fragrance but, much like peach, that apricot note makes this fragrances better suited for the ladies in my opinion. The notes of apricot and peach generally gives me this impression if they are prominent and not extremely subtle. And this apricot is prominent for the first 60-90 minutes until it fades into a smooth, semi-sweet oud fragrance. Although a gentleman can certainly wear this fragrances, to me it is better suited for the ladies. In fact, I am going to give this one to my girlfriend and, when I smell it on her, I just know I'm going to love it on her. We shall see. Lattafa Amwaaj Al Oud reminds me of a more elegant, refined, seductive and feminine version of Lattafa Khalis Oudi (Pure Oudi) which I love and have in my scent armory. Although they have some similarities (I did not say identical) Amwaaj Al Oud is sweeter, fruitier and more subtle, which is why I find it a better women's perfume. Moreover, that sweet-oud is delicious and gives off a gourmand vibe - no doubt! In the beginning I sense buttery accord, very light florals, and a creamy richness that is combined with that fruity apricot. Surprisingly, I don't sense any rose which, I believe, strike my senses as a lovely light floral accord in this blend. Performance is decent but it certainly doesn't get out of control; I get 8-9 hours of longevity and it projects moderately on my skin. Overall, I like it as a men's fragrance and perhaps love it for the ladies.

The best Lattafa perfume in their inventory. Just pull the trigger and buy. You only need two sprays. One bottle will last a lifetime.

Awesome perfume. The fragrance is out of this world. Looks simple but it's a bomb.

Brilliant fragrant. Soft Oriental oud wrapped in a sweet sandalwood blanket. The rose offsets it beautifully and gives it a slightly floral touch that sits so well. I can't comment on longevity as I only just purchased it. When my bottle arrived, the atomiser was inserted in wrong. So it doesn't spray. I can't move it as its glued in. It is weirdly a custom size, so caps from my other old perfumes don't fit on. Not sure what happened there. However it smells fantastic. And looks great, I will just be pouring it onto my skin unless the seller has spare atomisers. Hopefully I Don't gas everyone out, this fragrance is very strong.

This is something that I’ve had for well over a year, and when I came to look at this page, am shocked to find that I hadn’t reviewed it! I am also shocked to find only one review on here. I agree with Godking in terms of the scent profile, but this is, to me, in no way feminine. Unisex, yes, but this is a bold and gorgeous scent. I work in operating theatres, with highly sophisticated air conditioning with 30second air changes. One of my colleagues said that he could smell it several theatres up the corridor, so go easy on the trigger. I also take issue with the “similarity” to Khalis Oudi. Khalis/Pure Oudi (both names for the same scent) is fantastic,-see Greggieboy’s review on YouTube- But it has very different qualities to Amwaaj Al Oud, and a different scent profile, including cinnamon. I recommend both, but for me, Amwaaj is a must for my collection. I have just taken delivery of Oud Mood by Lattafa. This is very similar to Amwaaj, with similar beast like projection and longevity, hence my reason for re-visiting this page. The three scents here are all great Oud scents in their own right (all blind buys for me), as opposed to the many blind buy fails that I’ve experienced over the years! I have purchased extra Oud Mood and Amwaaj al Oud, just in case, but with my collection, I have a supply that will last multiple lifetimes, and need to get some of my scents onto eBay!
