Ana Abiyedh Leather

So with our amazing classic "Power House" fragrances of yester-year such as Ralph Lauren's Polo, Aramis, Tuscany per Oumo etc. having been reformulated thus having had their performance OBLITERATED supposidly because of the Oak Moss regulations... I just dont see how these houses can use that excuse with fragrances like this lil' ol $16 Lattafa Ana Abiyedh Leather fragrance (which does NOT use Oak Moss to begin with).. So what gives?! I used to used the OG Polo by Ralph Lauren which was an edt and a BEAST! I hadnt had Polo in many years, went and purchased a new bottle a couple of months ago and the performance was ATROCIOUS, and again, we're supposed to believe that its only bc of the Oak Moss regulations?! I also purchased Tuscany per Uomo and the performance was EVEN WORSE! These fragrances are still somewhat expensive too at $60 to $90 each! Anyways, Lattafa's Ana Abiyedh is simply a shining start for us Frag-Heads who still LOVE rhe classics and who are sick and tired of these designer houses destroying our wonderful classics and then blaming it on "Regulations" This fragrance is super animalic, smokey and the performance is reminiscent of the old 80's and 90's masculine powerhouse fragrances. Again, the performance is truly excellent and I honestly believe that this fragrance can rival many "Niche" Leather-Forward fragrances on the market today. This is an excellent buy and after being so very dissapointed in "The Classics" after their current formulations, this fragrance ROCKS! Also, although this is only a 60 ml bottle, 3 to 4 sprays if O-PLENTY for a full work day! 9 OUTTA 10 FRAGRANCE and this price point is just ridiculous for only $16 a pop!. On my clothes, it dries down to a leather-heavy aroma, while on my skin, it lingers with a sweetness. I both agree and disagree with some comments I've read. Yes, it is leather-forward, but it's not as terrible as some make it seem. Also, who sprays a new (Arabic) fragrance like 'usual' and doesn’t expect an intense burst that overwhelms the senses? Hello? Without checking the notes list, I could smell something sweet and peppery. After checking, I found it to be quite accurate. But leather is the dominant note, very intimate and friendly, and it carries on with everyone. It introduces each note subtly; some shy away and disappear after a few minutes or seconds, but leather, our beloved host, remains and eventually meets its partner, musk. Together, they create a good harmony, which is why they’re reliable to lead through the crowd. That’s how I experience it. For the price, it’s insanely strong. The blend is subtle when you consider how leather-forward it is without being overly bitter. I believe scents like this are meant to be layered with weaker, fresh scents to support each other in harmony. For example, to test this idea, I layered it with Cardamom Mimosa by Jo Malone 1:1, and it intensified the cardamom and sweetness subtly, which is great. I used to complain about the weak performance of Jo Malone scents, so this was a great test. Imagine wanting to go out but still use a fresh scent? Add a spray of this, and it becomes pleasantly stronger. Perfect. In conclusion, worth it!

HOLY. CRAP. my first word when smelling this? "DAMN!!!" this scent is insane!!!! i was born and grew up in las vegas. when i think of old money, i think of THIS. this scent is so much more than just leather. it's red carpet, expensive jewelry, red bottom heels and long gowns. i almost have a distinct memory, being young at a dinner, surrounded by well-off old men who smelled just like this. something about this, is terrifyingly nostalgic. i feel so extremely about this scent. there's a pleasant hint of pepper, while obviously being leather-dominant, it's accompanied by so many different levels of spice. i'm no fragrance connoisseur, so i can't place my finger on every exact distinctive one... but they all come together so nicely. really good performance from this as well. it seems that no matter how long you have it on, it's iconic and noticeable. would probably work best for a late night out.

This is my first LEATHER scented perfume AND it was a blind buy! 😮🚩 I know right? But OMG wow. Zero regrets, none whatsoever. I love this! 🥰👍 Lataffa did gooooooood. Opens with a strong Juniper berry note but without the astringency of the raw berries like in gin. The leather is strongest at this point as is the alcohol scent. After 5 to 10 minutes, the alcohol has evaporated and the Juniper/leather notes are less pronounced, incorporating into an almost sweet, powdery-ish mix. After several hours, I still smell a well balanced blend but softer, more like real leather. Wow. ❤️ I know there's more to it but as you can see with at all the other comments, books have been written about this perfume and how it feels to wear it. 8.5/10 Powerful, Deceptively Simple, Magnificent. 🫡🔥

Since Irish leather is my favorite fragrance right now, I was very happy with discovering this. It Hits all the spots I like so much about it. I'm not a very experienced note detective or anything, but it sure works for me. 3 weeks update: I put it next to MEMO irish leather, and I'd say without exageration: Absolutely the same with the exception of some note I don't know or care about. It actually projects and sticks around for at least 6 hours or more Edit 2: Been wearing this for many days now, and it's absolutely great. The price is insanely low for it's performance. Mastercraft if you ask me.

Pretty cool but it’s the same juice as Sha’ari, just slightly less sweet. Dont buy both. Nontheless: amazing scent profile, nothing like bug spray, not that harsh of a leather, i love cardamom but i cant quite get it here. Very dry, vegetable but not in a deep green fougere way. Moreso nutty and paper-like. Has some kind of buttery sweetness. Cant quite comment on performance yet, but if its half of Sha’ari’s, its already pretty good. Very niche, no doubt about it.

Ana Abiyedh Leather Lattafa I particularly liked the immediate opening sprays, I get nice dry leather, not suede like but dry vegetal aromatic kinda leather. Seems Pretty good for a start. However as the scent develops, 15 mins or so later I get some gasoline synthetic scent which I'm undecided it's not a love nor a hate, just not that nice on the skin. I'll probably give this another wear or two and decide the fate of it

I had this sitting around for a couple of years and never wore it. It was a bit too pungent, though I really liked the juniper. Then someone here recommended layering it with a green fragrance so I tried it with Rayhaan Jungle Vibe and it’s incredible. They both compliment each other really well. So yeah, if you’ve got it sitting around and don’t know what to do with it, give this a try.

I have mixed feelings about this. One thing is for sure, it smells niche. Do not blund buy if new to the fragrances, hell even if you are used to different profiles this might not please you. It does smell better after sitting on a shelf for a few months. If you hate sweet or other mass pleasing scents this might be for you thogh.

Super strong machine oily factory scent when I first opened it, but now I like it!! The peppery notes are quite strong on me, and the leather-pepper combination is surprisingly "refreshing"! something completely different to what's usual on the market, but very unique and likeable!

My 2nd comment. A year ago when i got this it was a very mediocre perfume, but now it has transformed into something that smells a lot more expensive and luxurious. This stuff needs a lot of time to macerate.

It smells straight up like a vetiver fragrance and a damn good one at that, of the vetivers I smelled this is the nicest, encre noir a la extreme comes second. Very good juice, exceptional longevity too.

I tried this next to Irish Leather and they are basically identical. This one has better projection and longevity, but is just as refined. I really like Irish Leather, it's just very expensive.

This is sharp, masculine, and bold. A tart and somewhat green leather scent. Great longevity and decent quality for a low price. You have to like leather to enjoy this.

The hate on this is stupid. Smells like leather and juniper berries with a little pepper to me. Sillage and longevity are both above average. I give it an 8/10.

Smells like cocaine when you put your nose close to where applied. I like it, very close to Irish leather.

Clone of memo .. but very cleaner version

I cannot get any leather, tbh. Don't get mislead, if you expect the leather of such classics like Aramis or even TF's Ombre Leather, you will be disappointed. Odd to say the least, this ought to be worn, smelt from the bottle or on a blotter is a mistake, you will get the wrong impression. As such, it is unwearable, a chemical mess offending the nose and beyond. Worn as it should changes everything in the right way: a floral, musky development that feels quite classy and delicate (maybe too much, leans femenine) at the end of the day. Do not buy blind. And if you try it, do it on skin, preferibly, under the shirt. Edit: heavy sweating changes everything for the better. This is by far the most complicated scent I ever smell.

Power Leather. This is strong in the leather department. The only other note that I'm picking up is the juniper berry which gives it that green kick and makes it a very rugged perfume. It smells like a brother to Tuscan Leather by Tom Ford, with that strong animalic leather, but it has a slight variation to it. Where Tuscan Leather goes into a more dusty realm this one sticks to a woody nature. I almost sense something sweet inside that's trying to poke through from time to time but the cowhide leather just swamps it back down and my brain forgets about the sweetness that might have been.

Very intriguing scent, really fresh spice aromatic. I blind bought it as it was very cheap and to be completely honest it might take me some time to appreciate this fragrance for what it is. It reminds me of a stallion, very powerful. Dry down is much better than opening. Do not assume that the leather note is similar to leather in fragrances such as Ombre Leather, Dior Homme Parfum and Bentley Intense. I tried layering it with sweeter perfumes and I liked it much better. Overall 8/10

Great fragrance. This is why clones are made. I really enjoy the scent profile of Irish leather, but not enough to pony up that amount of money. This is definitely close. If you own it, you'd most likely be able to tell it's not the real deal, but if your history with this fragrance is smelling it in department stores, you'd be more than pleased with this. As most clones the magic appears after a couple of minutes of settling in, but I'll be expecting it to smooth out as time passes.

I’ve had this for a couple of years now and would say that the tomato leaf note that was prominent has waned leaving a sweet, pepper, juniper leather that still has some (although reduced), vegetal qualities. For what it costs this is a cracker and were it in a more ‘recognisable’ bottle people would be kinder. If you want green leather with a sweet dry down then why spend a fortune on designers when you can have those notes at a fraction of the price.

Great amber based leather freshie and a lovely alternative to all those citrus based summer fragrance. It performs amazingly well for something so spacious and light in profile. Reads like a leathery musk with sparks of pepper and bitter greens from the juniper berries and ginger. Super well blended fragrance and a hard one to dislike. My partner is very excited about this going into his summer rotation.

It definitely has that same ashtray smell like tobacco blaze, so maybe it's similar to ambergris showers, which i haven't tested yet. I don't get any oilyness from this but there is definitely something green going on behind all the ashyness. Very potent right from the get go. Quality is unreal for the price. Edit: After testing irish leather, this is almost perfect copy of it.

More tobacco blaze than tobacco blaze. After letting it macerate for a month or 2 it has become even more ashy and has calmed down a little. Most realistic smell of an ashtray or smoker's clothes i've come across so far. Very niche and not for everyone.

If any of you have smelled italian leather by memo paris, and didn't like the vegetal tomato leaf note, this is exactly italian leather without the tomato leaf note. Unbelievable how close... I own both, and I like the tiny difference between them.

On me it's somehow nutty leather... Yeah, I can get those salty notes too But what I get mostly is just leather, spices I like it so far, longevity is good! Give it a try!

Blind bought it. Clean fresh musk mid notes have a spice. Leather slowly comes in. Cost me $15 well spent.

I layer this with Kiehl's Musk. Fantastic!

Well then. I purchased this blind so maybe not the BEST use of $15 BUT it's a mostly pleasant surprise. I cannot compare this to the original because I have never smelled that--so my review is simply this fragrance on its own. Off the bat: BAM! Smokey, animalic, spice. Not in a horribly offensive way either. As a female I immediately thought "Oh, I have to find something to layer this with to take off the edge!" But if you're patient--this blooms and softens a bit! The only thing I can think of is an old man: a hardworking, rough, works outdoors, dependable, jack-of-all-trades man--it reminds me of my Papa, and sorta comforts me? Will I ever wear this again? Maybe? But it truly is beautiful. If you are expecting new, thick leather--keep looking. But if you're looking for a leather that gets used, is worn in, is reliable mixed with the smell of a woods in the distance and maybe there's a rainstorm in the air?--get this. On one arm I layered this with Khair Felicity by Paris Corner and it is super beautiful: spicy, woodsy, but also a little bright. Kinda smells like being around a campfire. It might not be for the crowd, but hopefully you have a few scents in your collection you wear just for you.

I like the opening of this perfume - fresh and green and interesting (somebody was mentioning tomato leaves and this could be it). However, I don't smell any leather at all and the scent disappears from my skin after 2 hours. If I could smell the leather then I would buy more than just a 5ml as the full bottle is very inexpensive. During the 2nd hour I can also smell something soapy (and it's rather a cheap soap) - it's just a hint of a scent but I don't like it.

This is very strong and will easily push past 8 hours. I would not recommend blind buying this. The scent is dirty and clean in a weird way. I can't tell whether I hate or like the scent--I would not wear to this impress, but it is unique and mysterious. Smells peppery, woody (like pine branches) and leathery (very light).

This smells exactly like a liquor made from juniper berries and i love that. I would say it's very masculine, but I'm a woman and I wear it in combination with a green note fragrance usually, but sweeter fragrances also work perfectly

Leathery, aromatic, light, niche smelling, a bit synthetic, a strange combination in this scent. And a low price. It is OK if you like leather scents. Performance is within average, do not expect a lot from this one.

It's a different take on leather than you might expect, it's a very green, vegetal, and raw smelling leather. To me it smelled like dirty vegetables, so I did not like it. But I don't think I could call it a "bad" scent by any means, and it's so cheap I couldn't call it a dangerous blind buy either. Just don't get your hopes up unless this is a style you know you're into.

wouldnt blind buy this.Im new to the fragrance world and i dont appreciate this scent at all.smells really bitter like a low quality middle eastern leather factory.dry down is a better.presentation is really good and its really cheap.very good performance for a fragrance this cheap.I will keep it cuz of the presentation and will layer it heavly with sweeter fragrances

Didnt like the smell of this.Smells really bitter,like a factory. Bottle design and packaging were really pretty so i just kept it on my shelf. Wouldnt rock this except if i was really old on a library reading session.Its really strong tho. For anyone under 35 i wouldnt reccomend

You would like it for the first second you smell it then it will come to the hefty leathery smell and make you hate it it is a very aggressive perfume with a heavy scent of leather that makes it unlikeable and it kind of smells like rose home incense sticks

#371 in my "Tour de Fragrance" First thing, the atomizer cap fell off. It was an omen. Made my bathroom smell like a combination of Jovan White Musk and Weiman Leather Conditioner. This is a light, leathery, musky, super powdery scent that's really, really girly, like something a 10-year-old would get for her birthday from a friend whose cheap mom picked it up for her while she was at CVS getting a prescription filled. Not something I'd ever want to smell on a grown woman, certainly not something I'd ever wear or ever expect any man to wear. As the musk and powder fade and it becomes more leathery, it and smelled less awful, but still smells Dollar Store cheap. So many better leathery options. Avoid this. Update: 7/16/24 I took this off the shelf considering to give it to a young woman I know who just started collecting fragrances. As happens with Arab scents the character had completely changed. The word that came out of my mouth was, "DAMN!" It had completely changed into something delicious to where if I smelled that on my date I'd want to rip her clothes off with my teeth. I gave it to my beautiful young friend and said, "What do you think?" The word that came out of her mouth was, "DAMN!" I kid you not. 8 months on the shelf and this scent was wildly improved. I let her keep that bottle, ordered another one and will let it sit on a shelf for six months before using. I ordered the two other Ana Abiyedhs as well and will let them "ripen" till Christmas.

So, this is just an initial review. I'll definitely will have to come back to this. Right now, this is a strong dislike. When I smell this, I can understand what the fragrance is trying to do, but failed miserably. The leather is dark, bitter, and butch. Extremely strong. I actually don't mind that. The thing that bothers my nose when I smell this, is that it moonlights like a can of Raid spray. And once I have that olfactive image in my mind, it's tough to remove it. So, I'm not sure which notes are creating that atmosphere (juniper berries, raspberries, or the iris)...but it kills the whole experience for me. So, this is now in the "let it sit" pile to see if the notes come together better later. Scent: If you enjoy the smell of your house after flooding roaches and ants with Raid, then this is your jam. 3/10 Projection: 10/10. Sillage: 9/10 Price: 9/10 Overall: 5.5/10. The ONLY thing wrong with this is the scent. So, sample if you can. It's not expensive for a full unit, but definitely an acquired taste. Likely for those with an advanced noses that can pick out notes other than the Raid soaked leather my nose picks up.

This is way too niche for my nose. Smelling it was a traumatic olfactory experience, upon first sinff I got burning asphalt smell...this is the worst leather scent I've ever tried in my life. I had to remove it from my wrist, but it wasn't easy, this has amazing staying power, which was unfortunate.in this case. Sad to report I hate it absolutely.

I feel sorry for people who cannot see why this is an awful fragrance. They must have no idea how terrible they smell to other people. It's like gasoline and the worst possible artificial leather combined, and that's coming from someone who likes leather fragrances.

Not sure if I got a really really bad batch but this stuff is so strong and I’m not joking when I say it smells like a dead animal. It’s so bad I sprayed it once and put back in the box and never touched it again.

You guys... when i tell you this STUNK. like it smells if you took a piece of raw leather and left it in your car for a week. it's oddly plasticy too. it really doesn't smell enjoyeable att all. save your dough.

As someone that LOVES leather scents, I just can't get the bug spray comparison out of my head. I smelt like I had a fight with a prehistoric cockroach lol. This is a strong pass for me.

I gave this like a good 10 chances during few months, but still I must say, this is THE WORST perfume I have. But thanks to it, I now know, that I hate juniper-forward perfumes.
