Lattafa Art of Universe My introduction to this scent profile came through an Afnan discovery set that included Turathi Electric. I immediately fell in love with the DNA, and after learning that Lattafa Art of Universe was a fruitier and sweeter interpretation of the same general Blue Talisman style, I picked it up on discount. The easiest way I can describe this scent is sweet, uplifting, almost heavenly soap. The pear and citrus create a bright fruity opening, while the musk gives everything a clean, airy and soapy quality. It is incredibly pleasant and addictive—the kind of fragrance that makes me smell my arm repeatedly simply because I enjoy it so much. The opening is mainly sweet pear, citrus, other fruits and musk. As it develops, the balance changes rather than the fragrance completely transforming. The musk gradually becomes more prominent while the pear, sweet fruits and citrus remain underneath. It goes from pear, sweet fruits, citrus and musk to more of a musky base with sweet pear, fruits and citrus. I would say around 80% of the scent remains consistent throughout the wearing, but that is not a criticism because it smells excellent from beginning to end. Despite being fruity and sweet, it works exceptionally well in warm weather. I wore it throughout an entire week of high intensive one-on-one stage dancing during very hot summer days, and it never became cloying or overwhelming. My dancing partner especially loved it, and its genuinely unisex character worked perfectly in that physically close and intimate setting. This is one of those fragrances that manages to be safe and pleasant for everyone around you without becoming boring. It is non-offensive, but still interesting enough to stand out from the typical safe fresh fragrance. I honestly find it difficult to imagine anyone strongly disliking it. At worst, someone may find it merely pleasant or unimpressive, but I cannot imagine it being genuinely unpleasant. Performance: The performance is exceptional for this type of fresh, fruity and musky warm-weather fragrance. I consistently get more than eight hours of noticeable longevity, with strong projection that remains at least moderate for the entire wearing. It only becomes a skin scent after that 8/9 hour mark. Purely in terms of performance, it can compete with fragrances designed for clubbing or colder weather, which is extremely impressive considering the scent profile and price. It performs strongly without becoming suffocating or cloying, even in high heat. That combination is one of the main reasons I rate it so highly. When and where to wear it: Art of Universe is extremely versatile as long as the weather is not genuinely cold. It works perfectly during warm spring and summer weather, but the unusually strong performance also makes it suitable for milder autumn days. I would not personally choose it for winter wear, although it could still work indoors. It fits almost every type of occasion: Everyday casual wear Work or school Sports Vacation Summer dates Formal warm-weather events Outdoor activities Close social settings The only occasion where I might choose something else is clubbing, where I would usually prefer a darker or more aggressive scent profile. Even then, Art of Universe has enough projection and longevity to handle it purely from a performance perspective. Gender: This is genuinely unisex to me. It does not lean clearly masculine or feminine. The fresh citrus and ginger prevent the sweetness from becoming overly feminine, while the pear, musk and soft fruity character keep it from feeling traditionally masculine. It sits directly in the middle. Comparison with Afnan Turathi Electric: Both Art of Universe and Turathi Electric are takes on the Blue Talisman scent profile. I have not smelled the original, so I am comparing these two fragrances only against each other rather than judging their accuracy to Ex Nihilo. On a tester strip, the differences are immediately noticeable (75% similar). On skin, they move closer together, although the distinction is still present. I would estimate them to be around 90% similar on skin. Art of Universe is sweeter, fruitier and less sour. The citrus feels sweeter and more rounded, while Turathi Electric has a slightly sharper, fresher and more tart citrus character. Turathi Electric is muskier due to the sweetness being tuned down compared to Art of Universe. As they develop, Art of Universe pushes the musk more strongly while maintaining its pear, fruit and citrus foundation. Both remain highly pleasant throughout their wearings, but I personally prefer Lattafa’s sweeter and fruitier twist. The biggest difference is performance. Turathi Electric gives me around five hours with moderate projection on skin, which is still acceptable for this type of DNA and pricing. Art of Universe, however, lasts more than eight hours and projects very strongly for most of that time. In my experience, Art of Universe wins in every measurable category apart from price. Turathi Electric is cheaper, but Lattafa smells better to me, performs twice as long and offers the version of the DNA that I personally prefer. Because of that, the higher price is justified and worth it. Value for money: The normal price in my market is around $45, although I paid approximately two-thirds of that during a discount. Even at the regular price, I consider it excellent value. It costs a bit more than Turathi Electric, but the improvement in performance and my preference for Lattafa’s sweeter, fruitier interpretation make it worth the difference. It also remains far cheaper than most other alternatives in this dupe/scent category. Final scores: Scent: 10/10 Performance: 10/10 Value for money: 9.0/10 Overall: 10/10 Final verdict: Art of Universe is currently my favourite fragrance in my entire collection. I love the scent profile itself, but Lattafa’s sweeter, fruitier interpretation feels perfect to me. It is uplifting, addictive, genuinely unisex, extremely versatile in warm weather and performs at a level that fresh hot weather fragrances rarely reach. For my taste, it has no meaningful faults.

If you like sweet fragrances, this is the single best freshie ever made and I dont care what price you're talking about. I like sweet, this is better than blue talisman to me by a really wide margin because of that added sweetness. If you tell someone that this is a new Louis Vuitton fragrance that just got dropped, they would believe you and not only would they believe you, they would also say "this is the only LV fragrance worth the price" because it really does smell like an incredibly high end well done properly blended niche fragrance. I have a hard time saying any niche freshies really justify their price points, but if this fluid was removed from the bottle and put in a blue talisman bottle, that is the only way blue talisman would be worth the money. Smells like a non synthetic sweet pear jam that has a nice bit of crisp ginger and you took your sweet juicy fresh mandarin and dipped it in the jam. There are some woods in there as well and the musk does help brighten it up which is nice because if a fragrance wants to be a freshie and is this sweet you need to help clean it up and a nice light white musk always helps stuff sparkle. i dont get mint in there and I assume thats because the musk and the ginger already give it a nice little sparkly zingy vibe and the mint just blends in with that. I do get floral in there but I have no idea where. im smelling it on my hand now and I say "oh yeah there's some sort of floral in this" but I cant isolate it, probably same as the mint. Since it's a freshie it can be worn in the heat and in the gym. Since it's sweet it can be worn in the cold weather and it makes a great summer night out fragrance. Since it's sweet and a freshie it makes this a killer date night fragrance. Since it smells so high quality that makes this a formal fragrance. This is as versatile as a fragrance can possibly get. BDC was the first true blue as far as i'm concerned and it sets the standard/rules for what a blue fragrance is. BDC is not aquatic. A blue fragrance only has to be a 24/7/365 any day any time any occasion mass appealing kind of fragrance. Lattafa Art Of Universe is exactly that, and now, to me, it is the new and all time greatest blue fragrance ever made with no close second place. I LOVE this thing. Blue talisman is great too and I appreciate them for coming up with this template, but lattafa outdid them and everyone else. Amazing. It made me very happy. Performs incredibly, lasts long, projects far, smells amazing, is pretty linear (which I prefer), doesn't need any maceration, smells ultra expensive, definitely niche quality, killer bang for you buck, bottle looks weird and I dont like it (like 99% of other clones), no brainer blind buy if you want a sweet freshie.

Este juguito me costó un poco de tiempo y he de decir que valió la pena. En éste punto muchos de nosotros hemos leído y escuchado sobre "maduración", "maceración", "oxigenación" y hasta hace unos meses debatía en mi monólogo interno sobre si ésta quasi brujería era sólo un mito de la perfumería árabe o si era el caso de como dicen en mi tierra: "Nomás les pasa a los pendejos". Pues he de decir que cuando calé este caldito en la tienda de perfumes, me encantó. Más dulcesito y menos aireado que los otros dupes con el mismo ADN, con la ventaja que proyecta y dura mucho más. Un twist en el que el intercambio se me hizo justo. Mis ya frágiles ilusiones se desmoronaron cuando abrí mi flamante Art of Universe y al probarlo me topé con un perfil diferente al que recordaba. El gengibre era tan dominante que opacaba las demás notas, y en el secado profundo el almizcle estaba contaminado con un cedro seco y picoso que no desaparecía de las prendas aún después de lavarlas. Pues nada; mi AoU quedó relegado a solo olerlo desde el atomizador de cuando en cuando. Unos dos meses y medio después de comprarlo, estaba pensando en comprar otro dupe del Blue Talisman, cuando pensé en darle una última oportunidad al AoU antes de venderlo. Entonces la luz cayó sobre mis hombros y el coro de ángeles cantó jubiloso. En la salida una mandarina envuelta en gengibre se presenta efervescente, vigorizante y traviesona. Fresco y dulce pero con ese toquesito ligeramente amargo en el regusto que encuentro elegante. En el secado encontramos la pera como protagonista, perfectamente en sintonía con el gengibre y el almizcle; la magia de este ADN. Ya no tan efervescente como en la salida, pero aterciopelado y elegante, fresco, limpio y dulce. En el secado profundo el almizcle destaca un poco más y se asoma tímido el cedro sin dominar, acompañando el resto de la orquesta. Pienso que este es un perfumazo, su twist hace que sea más versátil, se puede llevar de día y de noche, calor y climas de transición. Tal vez para el frío no se antoja tanto, pero me puedo imaginar llevándolo si un día me place. Me está dando unas 11 horas de duración, con una proyección fuerte las primeras tres horas y una moderada las siguientes seis. Lo puedes llevar al mismo tiempo con bermudas y crocs que con un traje de lino blanco, jóvenes y no tan jóvenes. Sólo usaría algo más serio para un evento formal, aunque si dicho evento es al aire libre o en la playa, lo veo viable. Este perfil es especial, una infusión de pera y gengibre fresca, dulzona y almizclada que se sale del ya choteado perfil olfativo del "cítrico-amaderado" y del "limpio- jabonoso". Un perfil adictivo, fácil de llevar y de gustar. Por cierto, su tapa es muy mala. No lo levanten de la tapa.

I'll give my honest opinion: I'm extremely critical when it comes to perfumes. Art of Universe by Lattafa was my very first Arabic fragrance, and, honestly, it's the one responsible for making me fall in love with Arabic perfumery. I've been wearing fragrances since I was a child, and I've always wanted to find a masculine/unisex scent with a genuinely sweet character—something that, in the past, was much more commonly associated with women's fragrances. This perfume managed to surprise me from beginning to end. The opening is incredibly fresh and vibrant. The citrus notes, combined with ginger and mint, create a beautifully constructed, seamless, and energizing introduction. However, to my nose, the pear is the true protagonist of the composition: it appears from the very beginning and remains noticeable all the way through to the base. The fragrance is sweet in just the right measure, never becoming cloying. The orange blossom adds a white floral nuance with a subtle powdery touch that makes everything feel more elegant. In the drydown, after several hours on the skin, the fragrance develops a warm ambery, musky, and powdery character, while the pear remains remarkably persistent and incredibly juicy. The projection isn't the kind that fills an entire room, but anyone who passes nearby will certainly notice its presence. In my experience, the performance is outstanding: the scent lingers on clothing even after washing. On my skin, it easily lasts for over 12 hours, with around 2 hours of consistent projection. Today, it has become my signature fragrance. At work alone, it has earned me countless compliments—especially from women—thanks to the exceptionally clean, sweet, sophisticated, and captivating profile it delivers. On top of that, it's one of those fragrances that has secured a permanent place in my collection. Honestly, the moment this bottle starts running low, I'll be ordering another without hesitation. It's the kind of fragrance I simply can't imagine not having in my collection. To me, it's an incredibly addictive, modern fragrance with a masterfully balanced contrast between freshness and sweetness. It deserves a solid 10/10.

I own around 10 colognes, I definitely would have more if I had the money but this is my first review in this page because I think this perfume really deserves it. I’m not kidding that when I went to the store and smelled this fragrance 2 things happened, the first thing that crossed my mind was that “I need to make this my daily signature”, and the second thing was that I started to cry, literally my eyes got watery and 1-2 tears started falling down my eyes, then the seller asked me if I was okay and I told him “yes, it’s just that I fall in love with this perfume” he laughed and told me to not exaggerate. Ended up buying a 5ml decant because I was short on money but I’m planning into buying the whole gift set. My honest review using the 5ml decant: Projection: last 3hours+ with great projection then turns into a more moderate perfume. 7/10 Sillage: leaves a good sillage trail within the 3hours that’s projecting. 7/10 Longevity: This is absolutely crazy and I’m not lying that I put this perfume on when I was going out to a friends house, I saw the girl best friend of my friends and I ended up making out with her and stuff, she didn’t want to move, she felt glued to me, she absolutely loved my perfume. But the best thing is that she text me the next day after that and she said “I can smell your perfume very intensely in the whole room, it’s filled with you”. I’m absolutely stunned with this. 10/10 Compliment factor: 9/10. Received a lot of compliments in a short period of time.
