Bade'e Al Oud Oud for Glory

Hi NewbieNerd, No, Oud For Glory is not similar to Beau de Jour or Davidoff's Zino. It isn't a fougere scent. I received Oud For Glory this week, and busy giving it a good test. The lavender is practically non-existent, mate, probably revealing itself only ever so slightly upon first spray. But you will get the rest of the notes listed above more prominently. You know, I think this is going to be my review of this wonderful Lattafa offering😊 It is incredibly, amazingly so close to Oud For Greatness. The mind boggles how the folks at Lattafa achieve such proficient clones of more pricey fragrances. I have worn Oud For Greatness once, and I think you good people will be delighted to learn that Oud For Glory actually does three things better - the opening, the additional 10ml. juice, and the price. The opening of Glory is not as heavy; it is more pleasant than Greatness. Half an hour in, and there is no difference I can tell between the two fragrances. Please read cowboylacroix's review below - he's done a fine job of breaking it down better than I could. As for the price, here in South Africa Initio's Oud For Greatness is R5960, which is about $400; Lattafa's Oud For Glory is R329, around $22. One is 18 times more expensive, and virtually no discernible difference in the scent or performance. I got over 15 hours with Oud For Glory yesterday, and even after showering I was getting subtle whiffs of it as I drifted off to sleep. This is a wonderful purchase. A fantastic clone. Oud For Greatness was never great enough to justify the exorbitant spend. I really like the scent a lot, but there was never any goosebumps or walking on clouds for me. I'm just grateful we have Lattafa around. They have knocked this one out the park, and produced what I consider to be a better fragrance than the original. I would happily pay another $22 for Oud For Glory. The presentation is top drawer, too. How they manage this level of class at such a low price is beyond me. Happy New Year to everyone on the thread. I decided to start the New Year off with trying (and eventually buying) another Lataffa perfume called Oud For Glory. I bought a body deo spray from Amazon to give me an idea of what it smells like. Welp when I received the spray, I decided to open it with a couple of sprays in the air and right away I got the saffron, wood and oud notes that's in BR540 except there's a bit more spice. As I have three clones of BR540 in my possession, Oakcha Sweven, Seeing Rouge by Bath and Body Works, and Untold by Club de Nuit, this fits right in with the rest of them. After I took a bath I sprayed myself liberally and waited until it died down. It lasted all of 5 seconds on my skin, but it lasted longer on my robe. That's fine. I still like the scent, so I decided to gift myself (my birthday was last month December 30) the full bottle from Amazon. Upon receiving the perfume, and removing it from its beautiful packaging, I noted the bottle was quite hefty and for $22 at 3.4 ounces it was a steal 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 The deo spray I use as an air freshener and it leaves a lovely scent through my house. For those of you who say that you detect a "rubbery" or "medicinal" note in this perfume, it's the saffron. All the dupes of BR540 that I have all have that same "band-aid" "Mercurochrome" medicinal note. Saffron is a very expensive spice and it is used in gourmet cooking and can also be made into a tea. Being a nurse, there are certain products that have that same smell; one is Hibiclens, an antibacterial body wash that is usually given to patients to thoroughly cleanse their bodies before they have surgery. The second is Betadine, a product used on surgical patients to prep the area to be operated on by clearing away any microbes found on the surgical field. Anywho, in closing (I'm sorry for the long post!!) I really like Oud For Glory but as with all my dupes, I will let it macerate for a couple months and then come back to it. In the meantime, I will still use the deo spray of OFG to scent my home. Once again HNY🎊🎊🎊🎊🎉🎉🎊

Oud for Glory is very pleasant immediately on its opening; the first thing I noticed is that the oud is very smoothing, a bit subdued and surprisingly subtle. The musk is strong on the opening but in a very pleasant way as well, it pairs very nicely with the oud. As Oud for Glory dries down the oud & musk notes both take a step back, allowing for hints of metallic notes, patchouli, and florals to appear. There is also just the thinnest amount of spice present in both the opening & the dry down. Oud for Glory has extreme longevity but somewhat low projection. Oud for Glory lasted just under 12 hours on my skin and 24+ on my clothing. A 8/10 for longevity. The projection is more suprising, for the first 3 hours it is extremely strong; projecting 2 or 3 feet around me. After these first 3 hours it crashes to a skin scent and after 2 or 3 more hours I can only smell it if I put my nose to my skin or clothing. A 6/10 for projection. Oud for Glory is very enjoyable as a fragrance, the oud in particular I think is done very well. It’s not an extremely oud oud and if your looking for a very strong oud this isn’t the fragrance for you. It has a very mellow, approachable, easy wearing oud. The rest of the notes in here are well balanced and complementary nicely. Oud for Glory is an 8/10 overall for me, it has oud and nicely complimenting notes but it’s also an extremely easy reach. This is definitely more of an introduction to oud but I think it’s an extremely good one.

Projection: 10/10. Not for a compact car. My dogs are still sneezing in the other room. 4. Longevity: 10/10. Smacks you across 4 time zones. 5. Time niche: Eve/night. Fall/winter. 6. Nutmeg/musk forward on test strip after 48 hours. Taste: A glass of Retsina (with 7-Up/Sprite) by the fireplace. A sugar cube after a shot of Nyquil. Sound: The Phantom of the Opera (overture) Sight: The opening scene of the movie Desperado. Both Buscemi at the bar and Banderas on the bar. Any full length Cirque du Soleil performance. Al Pacino sitting in front of his stash in Scarface. Touch: A large piece of oak tree bark, one hand touching the smooth inner peel and the other touching the outer side. Smell: A wood cabin in a spruce Forest after a Cavadi tablet and a patchouli incense have burned out. A bowl full of Rahat Lokum (Turkish Delight), both mastic gum and rosewater flavor. Love love it. Initial spray is VERY harsh and will scare you but give it some time. Dries down beatufully. Smells exactly like *genuine* incense which I love and gets a bit sweet -- especially on fabric. Somehow smells a bit like sweet vaniIla on my skin, mixed with the incense. Used to buy perfume oils from this Egyptian guy and this was the smell lingering in his store, so it is also a bit nostalgic to me. I had to buy it because I tested it and it wouldn't leave my mind, it's like I had a crush on a mysterious young man haha. I'm yet to bring it on a night out so I've been wearing 'round the house -- can't stop sniffing myself! Small update: I've been wearing it out and about for some time now. I don't usually layer but I have this musky milky vanilla perfume (Vanilla Wonders by Spirit, another cheapie) that combines very nicely with this one (since it already smells a bit sweet and vanilla-like on my skin). Lingers for a long time on my skin and I don't break out from it (looking at you Versace!). I still really like this perfume on its own, but the extra sweetness and vanilla elevates it a lot.

You don't need to masturbate this at all! Straight out of the box the scent was gorgeous. I had the pleasure of testing Oud for Greatness a few weeks ago and this is shockingly similar. I can't completely tell the difference, as it has been a bit, but I do remember oud for greatness being a little smoother. When I first smelt oud for greatness I felt like I was in the most majestic forest surrounded by fallen trees covered in moss; but when I smell oud for glory it is a similar feeling, however, it is like the VR version of the forest, It's not quite there but it's pretty damn close for the price. I was lucky to get this for 25$ at Burlington. I also understand what people are talking about with the burnt rubber scent, but I think it is just the unique blend of ingredients that people are confusing this for, not the quality of the product making it seem like it needs masturbation. If people did not like this, the real deal will also smell bad to those select few.

My Lattifa's 'Oud for Glory' arrived today and it was definitely worth the wait.... The first perfume from his house and it surely isn't going to be the last! Beautiful perfume, leather, oud, patchouli in a fabulous smooth and soft mix... My partner was really sceptical, about me buying Arabian fragrances, but he absolutely 'could eat this stuff' (his exact words...)... Don't forget to wear this in summer, there's not so much winter in the country where this perfume is coming from... 😉 So please don't pay attention to fragheads overhere, saying 'nice fragrance on a cold winter's night next to the fireplace...'. I'm living in the south of Spain with some 39° degrees Celsius at this moment and 'Oud for Glory' smells just...... Glorious!! 🥰💕 I'd say blind buy, you won't regret it

Long story short, Oud for Glory is a shameless rip off of Oud for Greatness. For 1/10th of the price, you will basically get the exact same perfume minus the smoother, less synthetic opening that the original has. This I can say without a doubt, having tried both perfumes one after the other both on paper and on skin. The dry down was identical. The characteristic spicy, saffron, oud combo is instantly recognizable. It's almost mind-boggling actually. Sure, there are subtle deeper tones in the OG, but Glory nails the scent profile almost one to one. In the same way that Liquid Brun kind of executed Althair, Oud for Glory does the same with Oud for Greatness. I, shamelessly, love wearing it, and my wallet thanks me.

Now this was a weird trip! Blind bought it, sprayed it and thought it was horrible. Pow in your face saffron and oud with a strangely rose note to it. Reeeeally didn't like it but thought, alright I'll sell it but I'll try wearing it for the evening just to be sure. After about 20 minutes I start thinking...this isn't horrible. Do I dislike it? *Takes another spray*. Fast forward 2hrs, find myself sniffing my shirt all the time. Feeling cozy now. Then my husband and daughter comes home, both compliments me on smelling good on two separate occasions. Now I like it, so strange. It's nice and smells classy but the initial blast is a power to be reckoned with! You have to like saffron and oud to like this, be aware.

I found this at Burlington before I even heard of Oud for Greatness. The first time I sprayed, it was horrible, medicinal. The thing is, I kept going back to it. First I used it to scent my journal, and then I would wear it to bed. I think I was trying to comprehend what I was smelling. My curiosity got the better of me and I bought a decant of Oud for Greatness so I could compare, and to my nose it is similar. The Lattafa is certainly more “synthetic.” It smells cheaper, but I don’t think anyone is going to notice. I like to layer on Qaed Al Fursan; just half a spray gives it a little fruitiness. Be careful with this fragrance because it has the potential to be cloying if overused.

Idk why folks say this is so "Beastly". It has "Good Performance", NOT great performance imo. Now Lattafa's Badee Al Oud Amethyst is closer to "BeastMode" imo. Boith smell fantastic tho, and for the price both perform above average. If I want OFG to really last, I do need to over-spray just a tad. It is strong initially, but after about an hour it does settle down quite a bit and no longer projects all that well. And its not a "Maturationg thing" as Ive had my bottle for nearly a year now. Being able to control how potent I want it is a plus tho. Again, if I want really strong performance I can just over-spray. If I just want a softer scent, may 2 to 3 spritzes.

People rating this frag out of the box may be new in the frags or just too hasty, either way should know that with all these dupe houses, these bottles need maturation/maceration. Depnedig on ingredients and scent profile it may need time anywhere between 2 weeks to few months to mature. This scent profile is thick heavy & deep typically for winter or colder evenings. I have my bottle for over 3 years now and this is my most complemented fargrace irrespective of genders. Everyone seems to love this. However some frags just dont pull compliments alone, its a full combo of weather, time, occasion, and your personality, especially this kind of scent profile.

It’s not sweet, and it’s not unisex. It’s a masculine fragrance, thanks to its distinctive lavender note, which—though very subtle—undeniably lends it a barbershop vibe. This DNA makes it one of the best modern men’s fragrances—thanks to Initio Privée. An elegant, minimalist DNA built on a combination of lavender, nutmeg, saffron, and patchouli. I don’t detect any oud; there’s a slight smokiness, but this isn’t an oud fragrance. I just started my new bottle; I don’t find it very potent, but those around me do. Compared to the original, I can’t really tell the difference, the similarity is over 90%. New favorite. I love it!

It's a wonderful perfume, but I don't smell many of the listed notes. It opens as a gourmand, slightly floral, with just a hint of lavender and saffron. The heart is a warm spice, tonka, and cream, and the base is amber, light musk, maybe a warm oud. It's very pleasant, great projection, perfect outdoor fragrance in an informal social setting with friends. I'm sure the pros will dislike it, as it's not in-depth or revealing any deeper layers, but hey, perfume is a gift for those around you as much as you. Unless they are fragrance nerds - you either smell nice or they don't notice. And this one 'smells nice'

I was SO afraid of blind buying this fragrance because I thought the Oud would be very animalistic and "barnyard-like". After receiving it and wearing it today I am so happy and relieved that it is NOT like that. This fragrance is so beautiful and masculine. You still get the other beautiful notes that are coming through suddenly and is blended so perfectly. I am expecting this to become even better after letting it macerate for one to two months. I asked my mom to smell it and she liked it a lot which says a lot because she has no problem telling me if she doesn't like something or if it's "weird".

This is awesome especially after letting it sit for awhile (maceration). The opening is lovely, it gives off the same vibe as MFK BR 540. I agree with those who say it's like a manlier version of BR540. It smells so much better in cold weather. It gives off this lingering whiffs of sweet oud in the air even after 12+ hours. In hotter weather days the longevity is not as long though and it smells much more earthy. Longevity is underrated but the projection is just moderate to slightly strong for me. Performance improves after letting it sit for a while (after a month in my experience).

First Lattafa fragrance and I bought it blind buy. I got lucky as all get out because I LOVE this one so much that I went back to Burlington and bought another. I went to Dillards to smell Oud for Greatness, and this one is like 95% on point with it. So, my thought is go to a high-end store that carries greatness and smell it. If you like it than head to Burlington and snag it to save like 300 hundred bucks. If you want to be different in a good way buy this banger of a fragrance, spray away. Especially for a more elegant accession but strongly suggest not for spring and winter.

First spray feels like someone lit a match in a barbershop and let the smoke settle into the mirrors and chairs. If you've never encountered oud before, this will smack you sideways; it's hot, burnt wood with saffron trying to keep things civilized. It's rough, dirty, and still somehow classy, like a suit that smells like last night's fire pit. This is oud with an attitude problem, and it knows it smells better than you. Yeah, it slaps for the habibis, but the goths could hop in on this too. 10/10 Why do people compare this to BR540 tho? This is not that like at all......

I couldn't care less if this lovely perfume is a clone, or the % of likeness. I love it for what it is. I don't get any weird notes. And I can pay for it. Of course I have tried Initio's. No way I'm going to pay that big bag of money for 100ml of Oud for Greatness......Lataffa's Oud for Glory is a great perfume and satisfy my need of this kind of DNA. I have plenty of Oud perfumes and this is the humblest (in terms of €) member of that family. Nevertheless one of the most appreciated. Many times clones are crap. This not the case at all.

Idk man, Ive had my bottle for well over a year now allowing for full "Maturation" and I am STILL NOT impressed with the performance! Yeah, it does project well for over an hour, but after that it RRREALLY dies down a lot and the projection is almost non-existant. Idk why people say this is such a strong performer. It sucks bc I think is smells AMAZING, but if I over-spray so that it lasts longer, its too much for the first couple hours. Even on clothes this just doesn't project well after the first two hours... GRRRR. Such a tease!

This fragrance reminds me of grabbing breakfast with my family at the local pancake house in the early October morning while catching a quick whiff of the freshly-printed newpaper pages my dad was reading. It starts out with a short-lived and faint metallic, inky, and earthy spicy smell before quickly settling into a cozy, sweet, leathery, honeyed oud. Sillage and projection are not too strong on 2-3 sprays, longevity is moderate. My favorite dumb reach when I need a quick spray for a cold rainy autumn day at home :) 9/10

I haven't smelled the original cologne, but this dupe is absolutely divine. I don't get any sort of rubber scent; I just get a very nice woody, musky scent. It's almost as if I'm standing in a warehouse full of exotic woods. I've smelled colognes that are far woodier. Maybe it's the saffron that makes the wood note smell different, but it's very nice. I can't say much for longevity as I've only had it on for a few hours. The opening is pretty sharp, but when it dries down, its really is something else.

At first spray I thought "Hell no!". But then it lingered...and lingered...and then I felt confused. Do I like this?!? My daughter and husband came home and both complimented me on smelling good. My daughter told me I was distracting her from her trying to do her homework by just smelling good nearby. Fast forward to now. This is now my most used perfume this winter and also the one I've gotten most compliments. I surrender, it's a love now. Do really recommend this, but beware, it's a beast!

Oud for Glory is a fantastic fragrance—completely stands on its own. I get totally carried away when I wear it, and so do the people around me. You do, however, have to be a bit careful with the sprayer. Regarding the comparison with Oud for Greatness (which I love), they are very close. Oud for Glory is by far the best 'budget' perfume I own (22 €) and can easily compete with many of my much more expensive fragrances. I also have Supremacy in Oud by Afnan, but it’s just not very good

Last week I wore the original on my left arm and this one on my right. Honestly, apart from a slight difference in the opening, after 30–60 minutes they're incredibly close. The original has a slightly brighter, fresher, almost tangy edge, but after the dry down they're about 90% similar. I'm genuinely impressed with this dupe. Huge credit to Lattafa. also I get PDM Haltane vibes from it. That's why I'm obsessed with it. anyway, want the best hybrid combo with it? DM me

Just let me bathe in this. Just a God-send from the house of Lattafa. Beautiful strong aromatic woodsy metallic musky performer! With a nice hint of lavender in the mix. Just well made and this thing feels like it could be more expensive. Amazing quality and even greater price-range. Note: When I first got this it smelled one-dimensional. Maybe my nose just gets better and better or this thing has matured into a more well-blended concoction of delight.

Seen here lot of people saying issues with longevity. Well it may be either chinese copy which is widely circulating for couple of years now or new batches may need macertation / maturation. Mine is about 3 n half yrs old and its pretty potent, was asked by my doc the other day, what i was wearing and thats after 2 days of spraying it. Usually 8 sprays, four on skin and four on clothes that lasts an entire day easy with Colthes obviously longer.

Interesting scent, but I'm new to oud and this one isn't winning me over yet. It's the slight sweetness mixed with the oud that I don't love... something about that combo just doesn't sit right with me. I know it's supposed to be a great dupe of Oud for Greatness and a lot of people are crazy about it, so I'll give it more wears before I really judge it. As of now, it's not something I reach for. Personal subjective score: 6/10

I honestly don't get all the negative comments and what's with this whole rubber tire thing? To me this is beautifully masculine. It has such a wonderful woody smell, it reminds me in a way of the lumber yard my grandpa used to work at without the sour wood smell, just a hint of nice smellng lumber. A little pepper spice with a hint of something in there that rounds out the sharpness. This smells like man to me

This is probably the first oud note fragrance I have tried, and if I'm honest, it made me realize I love the oud note! I must warn though, with just a small spray, it's quite strong and lasted around 4 hours on my end (though projection time may be shorter, not sure). I won't recommend it for a blind buy but it's made its way into my favorites list even though my relatives read it as a more "masculine" scent.

Got a sample of this, and wow its amazing. It's my first oud fragrance, and if this is similar to what other oud fragrances are then I don't really see how people would dislike them. It's really luxurious/elegant and absolutely is an occasion or date night scent. Will probably buy a full bottle depending on the reception I get wearing it but I personally love it so far!

Most people have no idea how well Bade’e Al Oud works on a summer’s evening. They wouldn’t believe it, because most wearers in the West will tell them it’s an autumn/winter fragrance. But let’s just think about this for a moment.. Oud has long been an integral part of Arab culture and history, and the Arab world is essentially the world’s desert. There you have it.

I really like the blend between saffron, lavender, and oud on this fragrance. However if you do not like oud, you will probably hate this. Also ME clone houses don't macerate their perfumes so if it smells like burnt tires, macerate it yourself and then see if you like it. This scent doesn't work well in the hot, but performs perfectly in cold. 7.8/10

No lo veo unisex como varios dicen. Hablando de la fragancia, es un hermoso perfume, con una salida bien distinta, al principio olia a rueda de auto xD pero con el tiempo y la costumbre, es una salida de nuez moscada fuerte y después agarra bien un oud pesado y dulce. Perfume de calidad a un gran precio. 100% recomendado, pero para otoño/invierno

wonderful fragrance. this is personally my everyday, to the gym, right out of the shower type fragrance. it truly lets me smell like a wonderful clean and fresh skunk and barn for only 20 bucks. oud truly is greatness, and this is great oud. may this fragrance marry me in the afterlife, its far kinder than women and far prettier.

I love it, it's just sooo good, but not too strong, it's woody, it embraces you with its Aura, and it makes you feel like the coolest man when you walk into a room. I use it to dominate at events,3 puffs are enough to make you mysterious, sexy, and unforgettable. I layer it with his confessions, it's a brilliant combination.

What a beautiful fragrance 🖤 the dry-down is so soft, sweet and velvet. Very powdery ... Douce me in this! To me, absolutely unisex and wearable in all seasons, for its sweet yet cool. ------- 6 months update: The powdery note is gone, it's slightly less metallic and even more beautiful!

Very middle eastern, very masculine, head turner, perfect Jummah Day scent. I cannot emphasize just how boss man this is. Very strong. Exercise caution during hot days and indoors. If you're not from a Middle Eastern/South Asian background you should not blind buy.

I love the saffron in this smells amazing and high quality compared to the price. Some people says it smells like a candle but I dont smell it. Pair this with Lattafa amethyst and u get a very similar layering combo to Oud for Greatness and Atomic Rose.

complete blind buy but it reminds me of incense my mom would light around the house, it's woody dark and sweet and smells like Arabian lavender incense I think that's the best way to describe it. no maceration so might change as time goes on. 10/10

It absolutely needs maceration. I didnt lime it at first but now i cant get enough of it i love it so much that dark deep earthy oud which is sort of like rubber too. Spray this on clothes i think its much better like qaeed when sprayed on clothes

Maturation really let this fragrance shine. The dry down is nice smooth inviting saffron and oud scent. when i first got this i did not like it but after a month its a very elegant unique scent perfect for a night out in fall or winter.

I think this is amazing. It's an addictive smell that keeps you coming back for more. This is a way to make a statement without words. I blind-bought and couldn't be happier- amazing performance and people around me enjoy it.

I just bought the initio OG and man, they’re so damn close. This is a little less sweet on the nose, and for me on skin has a little less longevity. But damn, I’d say save your money and by this. Side by side it’s hard to say

Would not suggest this as a blind buy. I do really enjoy it, especially layered with either a sweeter scent. I suggest spraying it on a strip and walk around with it before opting out. It has a way of growing on you.

10/10 fragrance, reminds me of dior sauvage elixir, in ghe beginning its harsh rubbery smells but later cools down to a amazing scent, i advice you to apply 30 - 45 minutes before going somwhere

After it was matured the scent gave me rose vibes and I hate roses in perfumes but before it was so great and my mom loved it. Also it was so long lasting, but it’s definitely not a safe buy

Mass appealing middle eastern typa scent surprisingly not heavy on oud BTW you will get the saffron , nutmeg and some oud with a little bit of clean patchouli and turned down with the musk
