Her Confession

Assuming a lot are interested, I will be doing a comparison to Blanche Bete since I have both of these. BB is quite different in the opening (30-45 mins in) but it becomes almost indistinguishable to Her Confession in the dry down. BB starts off as a gourmand with sweet vanilla whipped cream, almost marshmallow leaning. The opening of HC is basically the same as the dry down, just slightly sweeter. The dry down of both of these is absolutely stunning, in my opinion. It’s ultra feminine in a grown but not “granny” way. Smooth, creamy, milky and musky with delicate white florals in the background. There’s also this ethereal and magical quality that’s difficult to describe, but likely coming from the “mystikal” and incense notes found in both fragrances. (The incense note is very subtle and well rounded for those concerned.) I personally enjoy wearing this almost year round and day/night. The only exception would be extreme hot days it isn’t what I’d gravitate for. I think your average person may see this as more of a fall/winter scent but I love it too much to limit it to that. I think it would make a gorgeous signature scent for some. If I didn’t have so many fragrances, this or BB would absolutely be one of my top picks for a signature scent. To me personally, this fragrance exudes a woman with high confidence but in a soft, warm, and somewhat maternal way. She is a woman with wisdom and self knowledge. She is there to guide and uplift her loved ones, but also not afraid to tell them like it is. She could be a mother, an older sister or simply just a good friend. Obviously just my take and I’m sure it could be interpreted many ways. As far as projection and longevity goes, both a very strong but I wouldn’t say beast mode. HC has slightly better projection, initially, but it starts to taper off after a couple hours. That being said, the longevity I would say get’s close to eternal for both. I can smell them on myself and my bedding the following morning. The main difference is BB stays more consistent with a moderate projection rather than tapering off from an initial higher projection. In conclusion, I love both BB and HC. It would honestly be very difficult for me to choose one over the other. However, if money was no object, hands down, it would be BB simply because I despise the bottle of HC. I will also say that smelling these side by side, BB does have an ever so slight higher quality feel to it. It’s not obvious at all though and it takes a lot of analyzing to detect this subtle difference for me. I’ll also add that I’m conflicted about the opening difference between the two. Sometimes I’m really not in the mood for the sweet opening of BB but other days I like it. At the end of the day, if you’re trying to save your money, HC is the obvious choice. Some Lattafa/Arab “dupes” are not so great but this one is very well done, in my opinion. However, if you have never smelled BB, this is not a safe blind buy. It’s quite a unique scent that not everyone will enjoy.

Just a lil update: every single time I wear this anywhere, I get compliments. My hubby loves this for date night. I was chased down for a compliment & a wayw? at an indoor/outdoor(2 fire pits) house party. This is definitely a forever favorite for me, so damn good I have had a lil over a week, it’s recently batched. On my initial test I didn’t smell a lot & didn’t think it was matured. Well, I didn’t realize my congestion was the beginning of being sick. Last night I had to run food to a grieving family. It was very cold & I grabbed a sweatshirt laying over the top of my hamper to layer up. Instantly I smelled whatever fragrance I had worn on the sweatshirt. I was like what is that, what day did I wear this(6 days before), couldn’t stop sniffing. So I checked my perfume timeline on here, it was Her Confession. I had purchased over the weekend & was wear testing. I honestly did not smell this when I wore it, but it was still loud on that sweatshirt. So naturally she is my scent of the day today. This is beautiful! I had put off purchase bc I was afraid of lactonic scents. I recently purchased Noble Blush, which I really liked. So when I found this & Eclaire, I said ok. I love tuberose, so I should have already just bit. This is a creamy tuberose paired with the vanilla & tonka. This is a sweet, lil spicy, creamy musk. The vanilla is so creamy rich. I am in love, it just shot to my top 5 now that I can truly smell it. The blend is so good, mmm mmm mmm. Beautiful, beautiful fragrance, which will only get better & richer as it matures. I am thinking I will try to wear year around bc it seems very versatile. Maybe not out in the day of our humid Summer heat, but yes on steamy Summer nights. We shall see. Just so pleased I finally got Her, should have gotten months ago. 100/10

Reading through the other reviews, I am genuinely baffled! Let me start off by saying I have not tried Blanche Bette or similar profiles. It was my first time reaching for this fragrance profile. I genuinely don't care about the original. I absolutely love it. It was love at first sniff. I own a few ME fragrances now and this one is amongst the ones with the most complexity. It is also incredibly well blended. Yes, the initial spray (like 10 seconds) you get a good waft of perfumer's alcohol. But after that, it feels and smells like a soft, powdery, slightly sweet but not too sweet cloud. It's definitely what got me into this lactonic type of scents now. Longevity is wild. On clothes it easily lasts 2 days, I can smell it in my apartment easily when it's sprayed on a coat. Silage is also quite good! I spray it on my wrist and whenever I move, I catch a whiff and it just makes me smile. It's seriously blissful. I genuinely don't understand some of the reviews, citing bad longevity or smells like tonsils(?). Sure skin chemistry plays some role, but if Her Confession doesn't last on your clothes either, I'm afraid you got scammed. You wouldn't believe how many shops sell fake Lattafa fragrances so just be careful!!! Mine was absolutely gorgeous literally out of the box in the dead of winter, I can't wait to see how it will develop. Again, be EXTRA CAUTIOUS of where you're buying this from! Same applies to decants!

This was a great find! To be honest I only bought it because of the bottle as I really like the design and since it is not see-through I think it could be kept out of the closet. But it turned out to be the best of the bought bunch. I did not expect anything from the smell as it has coconut and from past experiences, perfumes with this note are too sweet for me, but, WOW, such a well executed coconut! Damn... The florals keep it in place but don't overwhelm. It actually smells more like like the combination of coconut juice and the pulp as it has this fresh and natural sweetness, also there is this lovely spicy base which gets more pronounced with time but never overtakes the coconut. It also stays for a very long time 3+ hours I could feel the coconut. I usually reapply only after 5-6h just to have the first whiff again which is more fresh and floral. Also this does not need to macerate, it is great fresh out of the bottle right after the 1st spray. Yes - if you want a coconut fragrance that is not too sweet, opens fresh and floral then settles warm and slightly spicy. Most importantly looks great on the shelf! No - if you are looking for a super sweet "Bounty" type coconut fragrance.

Something in Blanche bete made me diabolically nauseous, but this here had all the beautiful parts of Blanche bete (for me) without the nauseating note. This stuff lasted 12+ hours. I sprayed it at 4pm and I could smell it at 12pm the next day. This is what it smells like to me; you’re holding a warm cup of a slightly sweet cinnamon beverage (like Sahlab if you’re an Arab) in a field of white flowers and watching soft white clouds, at sunrise slowly drift threw the sky. It’s very slightly laconic giving this a slightly creamy yet white clean feeling. The tonka and vanilla makes this feel warm and fuzzy), but white floral forward and fresh? It dries down to a warm tonka musk. In the air it all comes together to smell like the most innocent soft angelic scent bubble. This is the ONLY gourmand lactonic scent I like. I can’t tolerate any other gourmands (éclaire) or lactonic scents but this one smells dare I say magical, ethereal and angelic. I’m a woody oud incense amber girlie - can’t stand floral, sweet, lactonic or gourmand dna so this is perfect for those of us who wear more “masculine” scents and want a slightly more feminine delicate scent
