Khalis Oudi (Pure Oudi)

I've had my bottle of Khalis Oudi (Pure Oudi) for well over a year, so I've had time to test it thoroughly. My initial impression was very favorable; I believed this fragrance to be a byproduct of blending together two other Lattafa fragrances: Raghba and Ameer Al Oudh. I love Raghba (similar to ScentStory 24 Gold) but it is perhaps just a touch too sweet for me. For a example, if one were to enjoy two spoonfuls of sugar in their coffee (which in my Empire is a Capital Offense - LOL!) then Raghba is like a cup of coffee with a third spoonful of sugar added. Moreover, I really like Ameer Al Oudh but there is just something a little odd about this one (e.g., cinnamon sprinkled hootchie that needs needs to be washed a little better). To me, Pure Oudi smells like a less sweetened version of Raghba blended with the best parts of Ameer Al Oudh...just substitute the sugar note for a soapy accord and viola! I think it is fair to say that Pure Oudi is my most interesting of the eight (8) Lattafa fragrances I currently have in my scent vault. It's worth checking-out if you like the aforementioned fragrances IMO. I've worn all three fragrances recently and Raghba and Ameer Al Oudh project quite strongly whereas Khalis Oudi is much quieter, but certainly not soft. Additionally, I found it to be a bit more elegant/versatile and has somewhat of a fresh vibe along with that slight soapiness. It's a safer bet for the office sine it's far less sweet than Raghba, somewhat different than Ameer Al Oudh, stays more in control and is woodier than both. To correct my initial impression...while Pure Oudi has similarities to the two Raghba and Ameer Al Oudh, it is certainly different; it is lighter, fresher and woodier (think sandalwood, cedar, guiac wood and not so much oud). Performance is solid; lasts 8-9 hours on my skin and projects moderately, which is fine for this kind of scent. Finally, I blended a 1ml decant of Ameer Al Oudh and Raghba together and compared it directly to Pure Oudi. They were somewhat similar, but also very different. Surprisingly, the blend turned-out to be a very nice 'sweetened' Ameer Al Oudh, which I really enjoyed.

I've long been a lover of all things Oud, but admittedly only just started to explore the world of Arabian-made fragrances, particularly those of the Lattafa and Arabian Oud houses. I give my thanks to the beautiful and masterfully composed Arabian Nights by Jesus del Pozo for getting me into these lovely fragrances. In the last few weeks I've gone on a perfume binge, picking up Raghba, Raghba Wood Intense, Pure Oudi, Kalemat Black, and Woody Intense (by Arabian Oud). I've only received a few at this point, Pure Oudi being one of them. My biggest fear in ordering all these was the possibility that they might end up smelling too similar, due to the many shared ingredients. I've been delightfully surprised at how much variation there is between all these Oud-infused juices. So far, I've loved everything I've tried, including the sensual Kalemat Black, the floral and piercing Woody Intense, and now the balmy Pure Oudi. I would absolutely describe this as a amber-centric fragrance, perfectly sweetened, but still rich in exotic woods and spices. The Oud is very tempered and masterfully woven between the vanilla, sandalwood, and amber notes. I would actually describe this as a spring/summer Oud, which is very distinct from all the spicy Oud fragrances better suited for winter and autumn. However, being that it's very balanced, I could see this working in just about any season. The longevity will probably depend on the weather and skin, but this juice definitely lingers upwards of 6-8 hours on my skin. The projection/sillage is a little closer to the skin than most other Oud fragrances, but being that it's so sensual a fragrance that may be for the best as it's a great lover scent. All in all, I'd give this fragrance a well-deserved 8/10. It's not going to be my go-to Oud fragrance, but it's adaptable and dependable for many situations and works well as a casual fragrance. For $40, it's hard to go wrong. Hope you enjoy!

This fragrance is quite the enigma. It has a strange but familiar blend of characteristics one being a creamy sandalwood, guaic and oud splendor, a sweet vanilla and cinnamon, which becomes more evident as it dries down and similar to 24 Gold or Raghba, and a soapy floral element too. The powdered woods in the opening to me point towards a hint of rose but apparently it's not listed in the notes here? Something is giving quite a strong floral effect and I accept it could be jasmine, whatever it is it's very nice. This fragrance grabbed me as utilizing lots of middle eastern techniques and just had an overriding opulence which I love and would attribute to many more elusive and expensive fragrances. This fragrance is so far up my street it's ridiculous! I was so impressed in fact that I bought Khalis Oudi on the spot. Great performance a wonderful enveloping smell but without cloying or being too strong, I give this fragrance top marks and a welcome addition to the collection. Oh and on a side note, a really well package fragrance I throw nearly all my boxes away unless they are niche and very special, I still wouldn't keep this one but its nicely decorated. The bottle has actual cinnamon inside which I think is a nice touch and although I detect it in the scent it's not that prominent. This is the Lataffa for you if you like what Raghba has to offer without being too sweet, just get Khalis Oudi it's magnificent.

I am so glad i found this. Its a hidden gem most people have never heard of. Its an instant love. Straight out the box its ready to go and i found no need to wait to wear it. A gorgeous buffet feast of apple brandy butter crackling woodfire cinnamon spice richness that lasts and projects well and punches way above its weight for the budget price. This is a true bargain. So rare. Its blended subtly, its strong but not overpowering, it doesn't reek of synthetics and its a captivating addictive caress that would work well on either man or woman. Its sweet but has good depth too, and its not another cliche of vanilla and amber. Its got its own style. Its winter here now and its cold yet i can get an impressive 5 hours use, can't wait until summer when it should shine more. If you covered a woman in this i would lick and relish her body from the soles of her feet to the top of her head over a timespan of several hours. But it surely works masculine too. Super versatile. The box and presentation is nothing special and that usually means the juice is the selling point and it's good perfume. For once, believe the reviews and the hype, this is GORGEOUS stuff and so affordable. its amazing for the current price of 15 bucks. Ridiculous. For this?!! wow. What a beauty for the price of 2 cups of Starbucks coffee. I'm hard to please but for me this was an instant love and a top 3 blind buy find of the year so far!

I received the bottle today and my first impression was how can this be oud beginner - friendly, well actually it is after the first 20-30 min as it becomes less harsh on oud and musk and leans more towards florals, soapy and amber scent, although oud can still be smelt and combines beautifully with the above notes. I smell the cinnamon, sandalwood and noticeable animalistic black musk which are very prominent in the top notes. Dry down is more sweet soapy, and I can smell jasmine there. It is a bit sweet but not sickly and it is just enough sweet. It reminds me of a high end oud perfume but I cant point my finger at it (yet). I'm wearing this for an hour now and I like the scent it's giving so far, not sure of the sillage as I'm getting accustomed to it but will need to run a comparison with other heavy oud perfums I have and will write an update. For the price it's excellent and I prefer to have many of these than to buy one very expensive bottle from a designers range. Very nice presentation, simple, sturdy and the cinnamon pieces add a nice touch. It's not a western type of oud, it retains the middle eastern vibe and this cannot be missed either. Update: As others have suggested, the sillage is not strong although it stays on the skin for at a minimum of 12 hours (mine at least). The skin scent I smell is mostly of black musk.

Lattafa are more hit than miss with me. This is one that misses. It just doesn't work well with me. I have been wearing it for two days and I'm only really getting a hell of a lot of bad breath ambergris and a very tiny amount of cinnamon. No more or less. I let my dad use it and it smells the same on him too. Such a shame but I'm glad others are having better luck with it because I'm usually very happy with this house. On the plus side it was very cheap (£10 on 14/7/18 from Ebay. British seller who I've bought other Lataffas from) and it came with a small deodorant aerosol which is much better. The presentation is superb. Edit 26/9/18 I always assumed that allowing air into the bottle by spraying juice out of it also introduced oxygen molecules which starts to degrade the remaining fluid. However, I have read accounts here from other people who say that allowing the juice to "air" allows the scent to mature and get better. Is there any milage in this theory? I ask because using this fragrance last July, letting it sit for two months and then uses it again has resulted in a more pleasant experience which I think is not solely down to my expectations or perception.

This is gorgeous and soft and it's not skanky - perhaps let this sit and macerate. (FYI from the intenet: How do you macerate a fragrance? The concept is fairly simple. After purchasing a new fragrance you can introduce oxygen to the bottle simply by misting it on. Go ahead, wear it, enjoy it. But after that one wear you’ll want to take the fragrance and tuck it away in a dark cabinet for a few weeks and allow the fragrance and alcohol to mix into a beautiful harmony.) On me, Pure Oudi is sweet and woody and I wish it lasted longer, and wish it was a bit stronger, so more silage. Despite this, I love this scent and think it's gorgeous for anyone who loves rich warm oudi type of fragrances. love the bottle and cap too. It's delicious.

I bought a 50ml bottle of this fragrance a while ago, 8 or 9 months ago, and I immediately despised the scent. I just kept it as I didn't even know who to give it to. However, fast forward to a few weeks go, I tried it again and realized I was missing out. I guess my nose wasn't developed enough to appreciate it back then. It's a spicy sweet scent with cinnamon, oud, rose, and incense. It's not very appealing when you sniff it up close but it's AMAZING in the air. It leaves an intriguing scent trail behind you and it performs very well. It's not for everyone and isn't very unique, especially if you smelled a variety of middle eastern oud rose combos, but it's a good value for money fragrance if you're adventurous with your scents.

I have to give this one credit as it's very unique as far as what I've got in my modest collection plus from what I have smelled in general. It's so close to being unliked by me that I've found that I love it, it's so overpowering at times though I can't seem to get enough of it, it's not something that I'd wear outside of my house but I do anyway, it's something that I should perhaps only wear occasionally but I seem to find plenty of occasions to wear it, I should really pass it on to somebody else but I'm not going to. It's has such a paradoxical, contradicting, influence on me that no other fragrance has had and that really makes me enjoy this one, the love hate that I can't help but love ha. This is very potent stuff!

Who needs a nice wintery and strong scent - look no further! If you are a fan of cinnamon - buy! The beginning is too strong for most - never stick your nose to the injection site after application - too much intensity can put you off for nothing! Within 15 minutes, it develops into a strong beautiful winter fairy tale of cinnamon, oud and jasmine! Made for being outside in the cold - it leaves a very nice aura behind you! The bottle also looks much more expensive and sits nicely in the hand - it also contains a medium-sized piece of wood that you can see sitting and resting in the perfume! In the box, you also get a deodorant 50ml with a similar smell - where did we come with such a low price for such beautiful steroids!

On me, the OOB is beastly and barnyardy - but the drydown is reminiscent of Bob Mackie's flagship scent (which I used to wear all the time, back in the mid 1990s). There is a beautiful shamamatul amber note in this frag (I LOVE "saliva" ambers), which harmonises with a very dry jasmine, cashmere woods, ambrette, and just enough skanky, synthetic, hot rosin smelling agarwood to give it an interesting contrast. I received this attar as a mistake (was supposed to be "Oudi"), but I am not displeased. I am curious as to what the EDP smells like.

I totally agree with Cherry-Darling. A delicious high end smelling spicy, sweet oud fragrance. A cheapie that smells high end! Yes, it is quite oudy but the sweetness and spices are just as strong. With time the spices seem to get stronger and the oud a touch softer. Its not that sweet which makes it quite unisex. Yep, don't wear this in warm conditions or it will overwhelm you and anyone standing nearby. Fabulous in cold weather. Moderate sillage and longevity.

I ordered this hoping for a lot of cinnamon or oud but alas that is not the case. It is, however, a nice sweet vanilla with maybe a touch of sweet oud and maybe even some fruit notes (heliotrope-ish) as well. It’s also bubble-gum-ish (like Joop). There is a touch of cinnamon in the sweetness. There’s something off putting and cheap smelling in it, like an aftersmell or something, so I use it as a room spray occasionally.

Lovely sweet incense. Unisex but leans toward the masculine side more. Mixture of sweet & spicy cinnamon/amber/oud. The result is a warm, spicy, woody, mildly-sweet scent. It's gorgeous! The oud is totally synthetic here, hence the price, but it does its job really good. Unfortunately, my nose doesn't tolerate any of Lattafa's offerings. Must be some the chemicals they use. Shame :(

On me, the sandalwood is dominant. After slightly skank oud is tamed, sandal and jasmine shine.They take over mid notes for quiet some time before amber and calming woody notes came through. This kind of sandal reminds me of Sandalwood soap from Zen (iya, yang kotaknya pink itu). The drydown itself stays for 6+ hrs on skin. Overall it's beautiful spice-wood soapy fragrance.

It’s a rich and complex fragrance for the price point. If you want a refreshing break from Invictus clones, go for this one. I get boozy, woody notes in the opening with a hint of oud. The dry down is a beautiful cinnamon. Ideal for cold days but I’d still pull this off on a warm day. I just don’t care, this smells good.

I love this stuff! I've seen people say the opening sucks but I love it personally. Very unique scent and it lasts a long time. Sillage is fantastic as well. Honestly for the price it is blind buy worthy. If you let this sit for a month or two after you first get it then it gets even better. 10/10 on this from me.

Bought for £12 at the Birmingham Rag Market, this is another cheap winner. Lots of cinnamon with the classic vanilla/oud/amber mix. I'm finding quite a lot of cedar in the dry down. Very good projection and longevity. Overall, it's very sweet, refined and ideal for evening wear - both alluring and enchanting.

ADORE! Blind buy that I had zero expectations from. Very sweet, thick, spiced oud, no dirty notes. I'd say more feminine than masculine, but then again, everyone should wear what they like. There's a random deo spray in the packaging, cool way to discover another Lattafa scent.

I like this right out the gate. Veerrrrrrry sweet ,cinnamon , soapy sandalwood, some kind of floral in there, soft woods,and a little of that roasted honey type scent I smell when someone is smoking. Bright sweetness,...ahhhh,yes...this is nice.

Very intresting arabian oud blend with Jasmine note and light powderness. Easy wearable.Do not buy as 24 Gold Oud Edition alternative,they are not similar parfums.In dry down it remind me less sweet "idea" of Noir Extreme Tom Ford.

Wow, this oud is something else! Khalis Oudi is pure luxury in a bottle. It's rich, warm, and spicy with a beautiful sweetness from the vanilla and amber. I get compliments every time I wear it!

Sweet, cheap, fake floral, sexy, can't wait to dry yourself before bed, quick hairspray spritz, intoxicating. Gorgeous. Yes please.

25ml EDP, from UK, made in U.A.E Floral (I get rose and citrus), powdery, soapy, light, pleasant. Some light wood and floral oud notes. As with all Arabic fragrances, be ready to let the perfume settle down the first 30 minutes, and try several times, as the new palette may be surprising. I find I like Arabic and Indian perfumes more after several applications with some time in-between. Khalis Oudi opens up a little sharp with guaiac wood, oud, cinnamon and cedar. After about thirty minutes the scent settles down and the above notes come into balance with amber, creamy sandalwood, and musk for the remainder of the scent. A little floral. A little sweet. A little soapy. All of the notes in Khalis Oudi are well balanced. Nothing dominates here. I would call this a woody amber fragance. To me this one is unisex though I do think it suits an older, mature person. Best during the fall, winter and spring. Longevity is good. Two sprays to the chest give me about twelve hours. Sillage and projection are average. While I'm wearing the fragrance it feels like it's pushing out hard but I haven't had many people notice it. No compliments yet and honestly I don't really expect many. The bottle glass is nice and thick. I find the cinnamon sticks floating in the juice very elegant. The gold lettering is a little tacky but maybe I'm just being picky. Sprayer works pretty well. My bottle came with a spray deodorant that I'll never use. In the west you'll stand a little out wearing this. While guaiac wood and oud might be off putting to some this scent uses them a bit more subtly than others. The price, performance and scent are all very good. It smells expensive and refined. This was a blind buy for me as I've never seen it anywhere. Solid eau de parfum!

Lattafa’s Khalis Oudi/Pure Oudi has the opulent mystique of an oriental niche due to a nice hefty bottle design that is marked in a golden calligraphic print and contains cinnamon bark edges swimming inside the flacon. The presentation is beguiling given the lower price tag. For the most part, this fragrance is mellifluous with its cinnamon, vanilla, ambery musk flow of woody richness. Yes, the oud is there but more in a star cameo among the creamy resinous dancers, particularly guaic wood, sandalwood and cedar. Despite the limited role, the oud leaves a kinky presence on the rest of the stage players whereby the scent flourishes into a honeyed wood floral musk. The opening is an Eastern allspice with a tempered oud that is intriguingly familiar yet distinct, with an intervening soapy note of jasmine florals wrapped in creamy sandalwood, that gives way to a soft vanilla musk filled with amberous wood resins that would rub nicely in a cold setting. What potentially seems like a loud saccharine performance is a bit muted in actuality and balanced enough to be not cloying. Khalis Oudi/Pure Oudi is an inexpensive gateway for those who like their Eastern syrup slightly gourmandy, sweetly soft as cuddles, and for those who are overwhelmed by the niche strength of the agarwood barnyard.

Interesting scent, much lighter (yet rich nonetheless) than I thought it would be based on notes and reviews. The woodiness and oud/ cinnamon blends to give off an enjoyable spicy frag. I enjoy the scent it leaves in the air more than the one I get when I put my nose up to my arm. In the air it’s a masculine cinnamon woods but with my nose up to it I smell the jasmine floraly musk much more strongly. Honestly if your curious to try it based on what everyone says I think it’s a no brainer you won’t break your bank account and it’s got a scent that punches way above its weight for the price. The longer it sits on my arm the more it grows on me. I will add it’s surprisingly a real scent and doesn’t feel screechy like cheaper synthetic scents do, I attribute this to the sticks of cinnamon inside which is a common culprit for syntheticness ( I personally love how unique and luxurious this small touch adds).

It has a smooth, creamy thing to it that waters your mouth with floral sweetness that makes something tough like Oud/Cinnamon to melts their hearts and become one. Which gives us astounding great smelling fragrance, which lasts for days on clothes, my room had this amazing smell from my shirt and I kept that poor guy act as an air freshner for 48 hours, the whole weekend. Received 4 compliments soon after 10 mins of application and some after 6 hours. Drydown gets pretty linear, similar to Ferrari Essence oud but with the sweety, ambery note to it. Worth the bucks, pretty cheap, good for oud starters who likes sweet kicks to it.

6/10 (my overall score: 6.5/10) Scent = 2/3 Performance = 2/3 Wearability = 1/3 Value = 1/1 I like the dry-down, but the opening and mid are not that good - opens up with a sharp edges. As it dries down, the edges round up into nice, sweet, warm gourmand (cinnamon, vanilla, and amber dominant). Longevity is decent. The price/performance is good. It does not smell high-end, but then again, considering the price, the fragrance smells better than most of fragrances in this price range. It is a very pleasant fragrance, better suited for women.

Out of all the Lattafa (and Maison Alhambra) fragrances I've tried, this and Raghba are the best. They don't have that screeching sharpness that assaults your sinuses. Khalis Oudi isn't even that strong of an oud, so I don't understand all the hate it gets. I'm even a nutmeg hater and I have this fragrance. I wear it for cooler weather, in spring it is super lovely with the floral aspect. It's a good woody fragrance without smelling like you were at a bonfire.

This fragrance can be directly compared to Polo Oud. I'd say clone close. The Polo has a richer Oud note while the Lataffa has slightly more cinnamon. VERY CLOSE. The Polo is better but considering price the Lataffa wins easily. Not what I would call a mass appealing scent. Think cinnamon restroom scent. Only way I know how to describe it. Not terrible but not confidence inspiring

This fragrance really is oud + cinnamon but it has this soapy/flowery smell/feel to it in the beginning. At times it comes across as a perfume with oud added in, so in my opinion this is better for women. Also if you want to try oud for the first time, I'd recommend going with Opulent Oud by Lattafa instead of this (even though this is called Pure Oud).

I have a 2016 made bottle genuine seal packed. Its beautiful cinnamon based fragrance... Mild scent very mild infact.. Perfect all weather. Longevity is fr 2-3 hrs.. Projection - 1hour mild to moderate Very personal scent.. Sophisticated.. Beautiful fragrance no doubt. But I wish projection was good fr atleast 2-4 hours :(

I love this. I'm always surprised when I find something that is both amazing and very affordable. (10£/100ml!) Very rich oudy woody spicy and sweet. I love it. This is definitely something I would buy. It's a scent you might find in a fancy bottle at harrods for 15x this amount.

Very synthetic but nice dry down. will not recommend it though.

It turns into a skin scent 4 to hours after application. Duration is well above average on my skin, staying up to 7-8 hours. On fabric it'll live 12 hours at least. Great cheapie

right off the bat, meaning that very first spray out the atomizer this doesn't deliver that "wow" factor..not to insinuate that it smells bad..it's just perplexing af..like what's the motivation here? I've had success with Lattafa cheapies so I wasn't deterred immediately due to its inexpensive price tag so I dared to endeavor again..its day 3 now & i must admit since day 1..its either improved or I'm understanding the notes better..even so, @cantstopsniffingmywrist this is no straight out the box gem @justthefactsman idk how your nose interprets this as a "fresh tray of rolls coming out the oven at Cinnabon" HUHHHH..!? Maybe if you suffer from pica I suppose because there's a obvious soapiness element on the back end & quite a good lathering of soap at that being applied a day after a forest rainfall by a person chewing Big Red with their mouth open. This one takes time to process though & probably will benefit from maturation so I'LL BE BACK with an update..

I just got this, like NOW, right now. Sprayed it on, have the usual "smells like yet another U.A.E. scent profile." Smells similar in round about ways to the many other offerings, little sweet little smokey...Yada Yada...good price though. I will say that while going through the smells like, I noticed Tom Ford Noire Extreme, scoffed of course, but took some time and yeah, as stated below, it could very well be a less sweet TF Noire Extreme. Now don't get me wrong, they are not close, TF is a masterpiece, but I could see the unsweetened similarities for sure. It's good but again now joins my 20 plus of this style that just lacks the individual wow factor to make this or any of the others a hidden gem. Cheers

I bought this about a year ago wore it once and thought 'nah' and then put it in the back of a cupboard. I took it our today to throw it away...I took a 'farewell' sniff and I was reminded of how good it was. I honestly cannot understand how something this cheap can be soo good. I mean the gold from the cap and bottle is coming off on my hands, the body spray is not really that good, I'd be happy to fling that in the bin. How would I rate this: 6.8/10

the opening is a strong chaos of notes drowned in cheap alcohol but then there is an harmonisation and the cinnamon with the jasmin and the very sweet aoud accord starts to work very well even if the perfume stays very light. Overall it doesn't smell too cheap like a Mancera or lot of Montale a good one to start to explore the arabian style

This is a masculine fragrance through and through. Nothing unisex about it. It's sharp, dark, bitter but the amber gives it hints of warmth. If it had some sweetness, the scent would be much improved.

Cinnamon and damp wood. Very meh in my opinion, I would not recommend but there are definitely worse scents.

Bought it blind attracted by the price (20 Euros) and the fact I love oud. Underwhelmed. This is a sweet almondy- spicy concoction where the oud is very, very bland and never shows up in its usual magnificence. Really, all i can smell is almond - a note that I don't particularly favour- and a syrupy cinnamon. The longevity is poor. The sillage is modest. Very strange, as these middle East houses generally make bombastic and often excellent scents. Not sure where or when I'll be able to wear that. This is my second time buying Lattafa and my last one, as these are not quality frags. Line drawn. There are far better houses like Swiss Arabian, El Haramain, to name just two.
