Khurafi

But it's the scent that really makes this product the treat that it is.

I was curious about this scent, and for once it was an inexpensive curiosity to investigate. Khurafi is just wonderful, and even though I usually don't like sweet fragrances this one at least smells of vanilla and nutmeg, in nearly equal measure. It's not fruity or sugary or even gooey. It's really belting out vanilla and nutmeg though, and I only squirted it a little, and close to the skin. I wouldn't want to walk into a cloud of it. Like reviewer Leah Lilly, Fragrantica has the notes wrong. I'll agree with her notes, although it isn't clear what her source was: Notes-Top: Cocoa, Vanilla, Lemon Middle: Cardamom, Cinnamon, Nutmeg Base: Amber. Lemon is a bit of a hard sell, and the vanilla is certainly a middle note, but all the rest are more or less in the right places. I wouldn't wear this every day, but it certainly is cheerful today. And like other reviewers noted, you could easily blend it with other fragrances. I have a couple of disasters I spent big bucks on which might be enhanced with a little of this.

I tested this earlier today at my local Arab perfume shop in Minneapolis. I've gotta thank a fellow Fragrantica member for putting me onto both this shop and this scent! It's a humid, rainy day in May so I shrugged this one off when I sprayed it on because it will be better for winter. As I was driving, I kept getting whiffs of this wonderful chocolate, powdery smell. I can see why people compare this to Valentino Uomo. It has that same chocolate note, but no iris. The notes listed for this fragrance are deceiving. I pick up a hint of incense and oud, but I mostly smell chocolate and a powdery note. The comparison to marshmellows from other reviewers is accurate. I consider this fragrance unisex. A man or woman could easily pull this off. I would recommend anyone that likes gourmands to check this out. I really like this stuff and I am going to return to purchase it this weekend! Great fragrance!

Khurafi is a cozy, sweet and medicinal woody incense, that to me is almost perfect but suffers from the same fate as Al-Rehab Golden Sand where it's reminiscent of a flavored hookah or vape shop. It's got that same synthetic plasticky bubblegum flavored tobacco scent. It has more depth to it than Golden Sand, with some resinous licorice and burnt marshmallow notes along with some dry and earthy woods. I disagree with the comparisons to Al-Rehab Soft and Pink Sugar as Soft is prominently a citrus scent (and there is close to no citrus here), and Soft also smells much less sophisticated, being more reminiscent of a Victoria's Secret body spray or a '00s celebrity fragrance. The cacao here is dry and spicy, and not so much a creamy milk chocolate, but it works well and becomes more prominent with time. Lasts an eternity and has a ton of presence. I'm a fan!

Recently obtained a 100ml bottle as part of a much larger order... WOW...... This is an incredible gourmand incense based fragrance! I have nothing like it in my collection, and find it rather addictive. Aside for the gourmand sweet Vanille, Cacao, and honey.....there is a definite Smokey accord that serves up a toasty, delicious and smooth aspect to this simple yet so very rich and complex fragrance. Wholly unisex, trace amounts of precious Oud and perhaps cedar, Guaic and/or Sandalwood. Lattafa is not too keen on their reveals , note wise...so you have to figure it out yourself.. Oriental, exotic, Rich, decadent, extremely satisfied with this .... Have been wearing this with their Raghba Wood Intense...and the two together are absolutely fantastic. I may have to break out my Hookah to celebrate Bravo , Lattafa The Verdict: EXCELLENT

I was just about to buy "Armaf - Signature True" because I was longing for a Strawberry-Vanilla fragrance. Then, I remembered I had this frag in my storage bin. I took it out...sprayed on my forearm...and found the exact sweet creamy fruity-vanilla I'd been craving! This frag is so light, but strong and lasting!! I'll be wearing this as my base layer for EVERYTHING the rest of this week. I think I'll get another bottle of this instead of saving up for "Burberry - Goddess". This projects WAY more... Will have to remember to order a backup bottle before Saturday... EDIT: Gah...my bottle started leaking when I spray it. =[ After about 5-6 sprays it leaks a drop or two...bleh. I really dont want to decant this and rehost. I'll have to figure out why it leaks....

NOTE: As stated by other reviewers...the notes listed are for "KHURAFI OUD" not "KHURAFI". Okay...now that I have this in-hand instead of on order...I know EXACTLY what this smells like. "Lattafa - Nebras" (Eilish clone) BUT...with no creamy VANILLA!! This is that same super-sugary fruity sweetness...minus the heavier creamy vanilla found in Nebras. This one might be better in the summer! But...as I said, I just received delivery of the frag, perhaps it will blossom in time. I hoped to get more than the sugary fruity side of it at the start...but I guess not. Time will tell. UPDATE: Okay, strangely...I get a MUCH longer wear out of Khurafi than I do with Nebras!! Khurafi is also "Strawberry-Vanilla", a scent combo that I NEEDED in my collection!!!!

Big love for me. Yes, I know notes are definitely wrong! and I believe this is actually a perfume by Al Reehab. Not Lataffa.. at least that's what it says on my bottle anyways and it is exactly like this one pictured. unless it's a division of Lataffa. It's smells , sweet, vanilla,chocolate and delicious. I smell Amber here as well, the oud.. is smooth and sweet. I think the notes are totally wrong. I think there's several other notes that are in here .. it also reminds me of Kayali vanilla oud. Only way stronger. i've had it for about three years and it is so strong now. I wore it tonight and my girlfriend said what the heck do you have on? that smells so good! Projecting like crazy..

10/10 Honey, vanilla, chocolate, coffee and yes marshomellows. This reminds me of Angel AMen so much it would be a perfect mate for the new pure wood by that designer. It also reminds me of a stronger more focused Uomo by Valentino. Love this so much. Hard to find but worth the search. Smells very expensive and the bottle is awesome. The label is made of leather and the top has real wood. I have bought a few of these middle eastern fragrances now and I must say the quality is just as good or better than Creed or Tom Ford. These people are masters. Truly amazing gourmand fragrance.

Oh Khurafi, lovely scented comfort in a bottle! Without doubt one of my most favourite fragrances; the best one I own from this house. Sweet, rich, long lasting - a most glorious vanilla incense oud. Huggable like a cashmere wrap; delicious and rich like the best desserts. Who wouldn't want to smell like a scrumptious pudding, full of oozy lush perfection? Yet, it's not too sweet but so supremely wearable, especially during the colder months. Such a gem and naturally, I have a back-up bottle, too. Wonderful and, yes, of course it is highly recommended.

As mentioned previously the notes they have listed are incorrect. And there definitely are resemblances between Aqualina's Black Sugar and Pink Sugar. So if Pink Sugar had too much of that burnt sugar/licorice vibe I'd try this one. It has the sensuality of the Black Sugar. If I had to make any criticism it would be the bottle. It isn't horrible and fir the price I am still happy with it. I'll have to play with it more to test longevity. But so far it has a pretty decent scent bubble/trail. I definitely suggest giving it a try!

This is a sweet burnt sugar vanilla that's pretty much like soft except the citrus notes is not as pronounced. In comparison to pink sugar, pink sugar is more potent and has that burnt sugar/ licorice note that can be off-putting to some. I do prefer soft but this is still a great alternative to pink sugar. This is a love for me but would be redundant since I already have both Pink Sugar and Soft.

I just bought the Khurafi bottle and i can say it's the sister of pink sugar! Really lovely. I think the notes and accords on fragrantica are not accurate. As it resembles pink sugar so much. But the performance isn't as strong tho, it stays for a good 4-5 hrs on clothes. So if you have pink sugar this might be a bit redundant but for the price, you can never go wrong :)

Pulled out my bottle tonight after not wearing this for a long time. Wow, this gets even better over the years. It now reminds me more of Aquolina Black Sugar than before when I voted for "Pink Sugar" as a similar scent. Perfect for layering with gourmands or leather or berry scents.

I LOVE this fragrance. It’s a sophisticated and complex fragrance for people who love vanilla and gourmand but don’t want to smell like a 21 year old. Layer with Lattafa Eclaire for a slightly sweeter finish. Lasts for ages and ALWAYS gets compliments.

The notes on this are absolutely wrong. I believe this has a chocolate note and some other sweet notes. Vanilla along with a bit of incense. Definitely oud. trying to find where the notes actually are. This just cannot be straight oud.

Beautiful sweet gourmand. Lovely and very delicious. I love it. It's one of my favourite perfumes ever. I wear it very often and am always receiving wonderful compliments. It's gorgeous. And so long lasting! It's a dream.

Wow! Khurafi is seriously intoxicating. It's warm, woody, and smoky all at the same time - perfect for fall and winter. I get a lot of compliments when I wear it!

Gorgeous. Reminds me of the citrus in Unknown Pleasures but with lots of incense and chocolate and oud. Dark and sweet and delicious.

When this arrived today i could smell the cacao vanilla flavor through the paper, nice unisex perfume with great longevity and price.

This just got moved to the "Donation Bin" as I never wear it, reach for it, or think about it.

Mix with Raghba or Raghba Wood Intense. Superjuice.

Smell: On my skin, it comes out with a sharp raspberry opening that penetrates the air for 2-3 hours. On the 3rd - 4th hour, it then dries down to a chocolatey scent with, what I detect, is some dark note that reminds me of soft incense/leather; during this phase, the raspberry is still there but much milder than the initial phase. 4+ hours later, it becomes a skin scent that smells of smooth chocolate/vanilla with that little extra smooth/'tangy' scent from the raspberry. Longevity: It lasts around 7 hours on my skin using a single spray on my brachial pulse point. Sillage: With a single spray, the first 2-3 hours radiates around 6ft, and from that point onwards it slowly mellows. Occasion: I think that this is a unisex scent that leans toward the feminine side. I imagine either gender wearing this on a date or for business (but only if you're in the position of power). The sharpness of the raspberry exudes power and the dry down to a mellow chocolate shows the sexy/romantic side. For men, however, I can only imagine this scent being worn with a suit or some kind of leather jacket to portray toughness; because the sharp sweet raspberry that dries down to a mellow chocolate brings out the soft, kind, caring character of the person. This is only safe during temperatures below 25 degrees Celsius, otherwise it will become cloying. Age rating: I'd like to say late 20s onward for men and early 20s onward for women. Design: 10/10 for me. I have a bias for middle eastern fragrance bottles because, unlike the western fragrance bottles, they stand out more and their lack of brand name makes the fragrance more unique to the average person. I like the simple design and that it almost depicts the scent perfectly; that the bottle is dark and mysterious but surprising when you smell the sharp and sweet raspberry. I've had my bottle for over 3 years, rarely used it, and the sprayer is still working perfectly. The spray that comes out is just above average, I would say on par with Bleu de Chanel. Would I buy this again: Yes. My final verdict: 10/10.

Purchased this blindly after seeing many considered it close to the discontinued Black Sugar by Aqaulina. Not a fan of the bottle. My bottle arrived with a cap that was sticky for some reason. Appears to be a common issue. I used rubbing alcohol and a paper towel to wipe it down til it wasn't sticky anymore. This does indeed smell like Pink Sugar/Black Sugar...less fruity, less bright than pink sugar... but the same DNA....subtract the strawberry and citrus from Pink Sugar and add smoky marshmallow in its place. I like it but I don't love it. I will be reselling this one. The atomizer works great and the fragrance is quite strong, projects for about 3 hrs then settles nicely to become more intimate. If you are a fan of Pink Sugar or Black Sugar...you may like this.

Just tested this today, and it's definitely a super sweet oriental gourmand. I have not tested black sugar so I can't make that connection. This opens up with a vanilla/amber blast. It's strong, and feels unisex. As it dries within that first hour, I can smell the oud lingering in the background. The composition is still sweet, but the oud tempers all this sugar. Continuing on, there is a faint smokey vibe that joins the oud. The statements liking this to the smell of marshmallows is about accurate. If you can imagine that with amber and faint oud then this is what this is. It's not like Valentino Uomo or A*men. This is more akin to pure Tonka, not as sweet as blue sugar, but more oriental than say Rochas Man. Vanilla lovers should check this out!

To me this is smokey liquid roasted marshmallows in a bottle. To me this is very gourmand. I think there is no doubt vanilla in this, it's rather dominant in it. Or there would at least be a heavy dose of Tonka beans in it. Together with some Patchouli and Sandalwood. I somehow get this imagery of a going out in the woods, cutting woods and hunting for food all day. And at the end of the day at night you sit next to a campfire and roasting A LOT of marshmallows, and that scent sticks into your clothes. And the next day when you smell your clothes you get this bit of smokey marshmallow scent from your clothes.

I got this cause i love black sugar and everyone said they smelled alike but i was a little disappointed😕 It does smell good and it does smell like black sugar but only for a couple of seconds and then it just smells like the normal pink sugar but a bit more citrusy and it also smells like soft by alrehab but tbh soft by alrehab is stronger and lasts more. I like this it does smell really good and yummy and it lasts for a good time it’s been 3 days and I still smell it on my sweater but I really wanted it to smell like black sugar

Unfortunately the note list from Fragrantica is absolutely inaccurate for this scent. Top: Sugar, Vanilla, Marshmallow, Mandarin Middle: Marshmallow, Oud, Licqourice Base: Chocolate, Vanilla, powdery notes This note list was provided from the retailer i bought it from. And it is very accurate! It indeed smells like Vanilla, Caramel and powder and was moved straight away onto my wife's perfume desk.... Lovely scent......anything but unisex IMHO.

Outstanding dupe of Black Sugar. Worn at a slight distance, I have no ability to tell them apart! Yes, there's a little similarity to Soft and Pink Sugar, but this is 98% like Black Sugar, right down to the warmer, balsamic notes of burnt marshmallows. So I guess it just boils down to buying the one most affordable/available in your part of the world. Unless of course you love the packaging of one in particular... ;)

I've had this perfume for a while now, and tbh to me it just smells like al-rehabs soft. like 95% the same thing. longevity is a bit better than that one though. I wonder if it'll change over time. for some reason though, I'm not getting cotton candy or cookies or whatever. I'm just getting citrus and sugar/vanilla, and maybe some florals (vanilla orchid maybe?) in the background.

Top Notes: Sugar, Vanilla, Marshmallow, Mandarin Middle Notes: Marshmallow, Oud & Liquorice Base Notes: Chocolate, Vanilla, Powdery Notes. It's a yummy gourmand fragrance. Popular with my kids because it's so yummy :) It's not cloying though. I'm not normally into gourmand fragrances but i was intrigued. Glad it's part of my collection. It's nice to put on before bed.

Layer with Al Rehab"s "SOFT" perfume oil! Beautful! But be careful not to over do it (learned that the hard way) because they are both strong and last for ages so it has the potential to get cloying. Better in cooler weather.

Tooth decaying sweet. Go for it blindfolded if that is your jam... That said, it is VERY well constructed for the price with at par ingredients. Therefore, objectively its a like for me. IG: @Eclectic.Scents

Strangely sweet, woods. Why are no sweet notes listed? I don't get any incense or spice or smoke at all, just white sugar and wood. This is unique in my collection which gives it value. Smooth and stable from spray to dry down. Perfectly unisex. Not in love with the scent but it's okay when I am wanting something different and still need to be inoffensive in close quarters. Wouldn't purchase again though.

I made an account here just to review this perfume. I blind bought it as potential replacement for Black Sugar, which I absolutely adore and was devastated to see discontinued. Having seen several people compare the two, I decided to bite the bullet and give this perfume a go. I could not be happier with my decision! The relation to Black Sugar is strong and from a distance I can't tell the difference between the two. Digging a little deeper, I believe the leather in Black Sugar is stronger (it is still present in Khurafi, but much lighter) and Khurafi has a little more incense to it. However, the vibe of the perfumes is almost identical. Khurafi opens with a pretty intense incense blast - I usually put it on about an hour before I'll be anywhere to allow this to settle. Once that settles, I get a beautiful sweet (cacao, vanilla), spicy scent with a hint of leather for hours, and after that a slightly smoky chocolate for the rest of the day. Absolutely beautiful. This perfume falls right between a gourmand and oriental to me. Smells edible, but has a lovely edge lent to it by the oud, smoke, and leather that you don't get with the more straightforward gourmands. Definite hints of both throughout the wear time, and I suspect how much of each you get depends heavily on your skin chemistry. Gorgeous packaging - the Khurafi box is lovely, and the bottle even more so. A lovely, simple apothecary vibe with a gorgeous leather label. Absolutely loving having this in my vanity collection. For me, this perfume is an everyday (with a light touch!) go-to during the cooler months. To my nose, it leans slightly more feminine, but men could absolutely pull this off and would smell delicious! The vibe I get from it is slightly mysterious and androgynous, yet warm. All in all, this is a deep, complex scent. I am so glad that so many people compared this to Black Sugar, or I never would have discovered this absolute gem!

This does smell like Black sugar in the top notes, instead of leather there is woods. The top notes (the first 1-2 hours) have intense marshmallows with some woods and smoke, after which the chocolate and coffee start to come out with the oud, still very sweet but not as the opening. Once the marshmallow starts to die, so does the projection, but the dry down does last very long. I am a gourmand lover and i get my fav notes here with some oud, so I love this fragrance, but I would love it more if it was a little less sweet and the projection after the dry down was better. When you first spray it, because of the projection and sweetness, you'll think its strictly for winter, but you can wear this in summer, if you go out after 2 hours of application. I wear this an hour before I leave for work, so by the time i'm in the office, it has mellowed down just right for that setting, and its stays with me till I get home, or beyond that.

This is a good gourmand smelling, sweet, choco type of masculine scent that leans towards unisex. this projects well for about 3 or 4 hours then starts to moderately come closer to the skin which is about the 6 to 8 hr mark but it left a nice powdery choco scent cloud around me. The Oud is present and works well with the choco, sugar notes. The incense is present but not in your face more of a supporting character, which I prefer. I did get compliments. This smells nothing like Angel or Valentino Uomo. I see the similarities between this and Black Sugar which is nice as well but I think lasts longer than this one. I rate this slightly above average, as far as smell and performance. I give it 7 out of 10 . Not breaking barriers or setting trends but pleasant to wear and have in a collection. Sweet fragrance enthusiast will like this one, I do more each time I wear it. Happy Sniffing

khurafi...what a yummy scent, now to me this is nothing like muglers amen to my nose. This scent opens with a blast of citrus with mandarin being a dominant note but citrus in this is of a candied type and very full bodied and edible. once this dries down which is only around 10 minutes the scent changes to something more akin to what you would expect from mugler but it's not amen it's angel for women, with that excellent chocolate note with patchouli and creamy woods. Khurafi is edibly beautiful from start to finish. There are a lot more notes in this fragrance than are listed here and I get somewhere lurking in the background and aquatic note. longevity and sillage are both excellent. overall I rate this one 8/10

The fragrantica notes are wrong. This is a Pink Sugar dupe all the way. The opening gives me leather, which is why it's compared to Black Sugar. But the leathery feeling fades fast into sugary sweet, which is really lovely. I like the late drydown of this better than PS, it's more marshmallow, praline, vanilla. PS would fade away on my skin but this has a stronger longevity. I think I like this a lot more, there's something deeper and more approachable about it.

As someone who favours gourmand fragrances, this was such a great blind buy. What I get is a really nice edible sugary mandarin with some chocolate and vanilla in the dry down; an emphasis on the mandarin - just incredible. Easy to wear and easy to use as a layering fragrance in the, in my opinion, throughout the entire year. Its quite strong, pungent even with the ability to be felt everywhere around you; a beast in longevity. Rating: 8/10;

This is likely one of the few Lattafas that they put a different juice in the same bottle and sell it under the same name in different regions. The one that I tried in the US is very incensey smokey and oudy, fairly sweet but nothing like Pink Sugar or Soft or some of the others mentioned above. I could see a comparison to the Muglers with a light Oud. Test it in the store, otherwise you’re just rolling the dice.

Khurafi is absolutely lovely. It is a sweet caramel drizzled with honey and chocolate. I'd definitely describe this as a cozy gourmand. I wear it with sweaters in cooler weather as I am absolutely delighted by the scent. It does remind me of Pink Sugar but with a little more chocolate and slightly more complexity. Truly sexy stuff if you’re into sweet fragrances.

I sold my Angel Men and dropped my plans to buy Valentino Uomo and Uomo intense. This smells better, performs better, has quality ingredients and the best part I got it for ₹17. All my cravings for a perfect gourmand fragrances have been satisfied with this....and oh yes I'm selling my Givenchy play intense now....

Very very sweet, all vanilla and sugar. It's ok-ish after all, but from a perfume that is supposed to have wood notes I'd expect it to have more... wood notes. And smoke too. Where did the smoke go? For me it is a sweet, rather simple fragrance, the type I usually do not like.

this smells good and surprisingly fresh. it smells like a smoothed out version of Awraq Al Oud by Lattafa-. this is less spicy. I thought it would be smokier, but it's not. its a very nice blend. I could not find shamouki, so I guess this is the next best thing?

Like Ragdba, I get very low sillage/projection on this ! It has "vibe" similarity to Black Sugar, but IMO,and to my nose/chemistry...it is different...and weaker. I do really like this scent alot,but was expecting a tad more "oomph" !!!
