Maahir Legacy

Lattafa Maahir Legacy is honestly a pretty decent fragrance. My only issue is the Longevity and sillage. I love the 'Sprite' like opening, and I also love the musky powdery drydown/base notes. With my bottle, I mostly smell notes of lime, mint, grapefruit, ambroxan, vetiver, and oakmoss. I sometimes can smell notes of lavender, tonka bean, and pepper. Overall, it opens up with a fresh lime soda 'Sprite' opening and drys down into a musky powdery like base. I also get like a fresh, gunpowder like smell in the drydown which I honestly love. That gunpower smell or 'note' that I'm smelling might be the ambroxan note but it kinda reminds me of the same smelling gunpowder note in 'MOON DUST' by Min New York. This scent grew on me and I've let my bottle sit and matured for a little over a month and I'm already seeing improvements in overall scent profile. But my main issue is still present. The performance is still quite moderate. I get maybe roughly 4 hours on clothes and sillage is pretty moderate. I don't get many whiffs of this projecting off my clothes like I do with my bottles of Asad Zanzibar and Nitro Red. My bottle of Asad Zanzibar projects very nicely alongside my bottle of Nitro Red.. so it's a bummer for me when I wear Maahir Legacy and I don't get the same results. I'm a sillage guy and I like wearing strong sillage fragrances. Maahir Legacy (at least at the moment) isn't one of those strong sillage fragrances. I'll let my bottle mature some more and if the performance changes then I'll edit this review. But for now this is my final thoughts. Not bad at all, pretty decent spring/summer wear fragrance, and is worth the $20. But for a Eau de Parfum, it sure does perform more like a Eau de Toilette. I find reviews comparing $25 fragrances to $300 fragrances to be less than helpful. Especially because they usually throw in subjective comparisons to cleaning products. What, there are quality differences?! Here is what you need to know: If you like clean lime, fresh spearmint, bubbly juniper, well-applied jasmine and a lightly sweet and smooth tonka, you will like this. Along the way there are flits of oakmoss, rosemary and artemesia which provide a counterpuntal light bitterness with rich soil undertones; as well as bits of fougere and what I would call a "good doctor office" accord. It evolves several times. The sillage is subject to anosmia and is stronger than it seems. And while the sillage settles into an aromatic tonka with light florals, the nose-to-skin scent emphasizes the earthy, bitter, spicy notes. Really quite interesting, very pleasant, and a bit mature without being austere - on its own, without reference to anything else. I have tried Sedley several times, and it is very nice, obviously nicer than this. But it is not "$345 good," at least to me. This is definitely "$28 good", maybe even twice that. Look, I understand that when you have spent $350, you are going to get defensive when someone says a cheapie is "just as good." But those who compare this to Sedley unfavorably have to remember that for most of us, there is a price/quality ratio, and for 1/12th the price, this one is a winner.

This is probably the most surprising clone I've purchased by far. Right off the immediate opening, it isn't harsh or off, compared to most other cheapies. Probably since mine is a 2024 batch, it has had time to maturate in storage. The opening is a very cool and refreshing lime soda vibe — I'm getting mainly lime, with a cool, refreshing aromatic accord, vetiver, and ambroxan. It really does smell like Sprite or something similar. The mint here isn't too distinct nor toothpastey, unlike in many other mint fragrances. Not like the mint in Versace Eros, for example. It's just a mildly sweet and cool note. In the air I get more of the lavender, but not so much up close. On the drydown, it's a sweet, dry vetiver, with a powdery musk. Very pleasant and refreshing in this 40+ Celcius heat I'm currently in. Performance is alright, I get about 5 hours of longevity on my skin with 2 hours of moderate to close projection. I wore it to a 1-hour high intensity gym session and it was still detectable afterwards, albeit barely. On clothes however, it lasts a while. I'm still getting whiffs of it from my shirt, well over 12 hours post application, and I'm not even sniffing my shirt closely. The only con is that the bottle design is unnecessarily zany. The bottle is easy to grip but the cap pokes the skin. Overall, I am very impressed, and this is going to be a high-heat summer staple for me. ✅Excellent

Since last year I'm wearing Maahir Legacy till now almost 1 year, without realizing it, I used Maahir as much as I'm wearing my daily signature scent Issey LDPH, (can say 300ml per year) because today I just found out my second bottle almost finished and need to purchase the 3rd bottle. I'm sure it's because I'm really comfortable wearing it. So it deserves a review here. I tried sedley already and know the scent is not exactly the same, Maahir Legacy got more fizzy and very minty, but for someone who lived in a consistently humid hot country, this one suit me better, I liked the sensation of cooling effect when wearing it on sunny day, and also the dry down is very clean smell and work very well with my sweat. I was worked out 3 hours playing tennis, and after going back home took off my t-shirt, my wife saw me, smelled me and she thought I just took a shower already. 20$ for hot daily activity is very wonderful, I just hope it can perform more or at least stick around as skin scent for along time.

Smells like an aromatic, minty Sprite. This is very delicious and honestly one of my favorite freshie DNA's of all time. Most citrus dominant freshies you encounter tend to lean heavy on the lemon to give them their zip but the lime in this is beautiful and really sets it apart for me. I have smelled Sedley multiple times at the local Nordstrom and have even smelled it side by side with this and they're nigh indistinguishable for me, 90-95% similar. Really dumb reach even more so than most of my other freshies because of how good this is. This pulls compliments. Also performs better than some comments would lead you to believe, I can still smell this projecting off of skin like 4-5 hours in, even more if I spray on clothes too. I do believe mine's performance improved a bit after some maceration though. For sure one of my best buys and one of Lattafa's best efforts.

This is a beautiful and highly successful clone of PDM. On the initial spray, it delivers a vibrant fresh pop reminiscent of crisp Sprite, with bright citrus that feels instantly refreshing. As it settles, the scent evolves gracefully into a smooth, elegant heart before revealing a truly beautiful dry down of warm woody and subtly sweet base notes. I find this to be an excellent all day, every day fragrance with impressive longevity that performs especially well in summertime heat. Its moderate projection and versatile character make it suitable for office wear, casual outings, or light evening occasions. It is a little more on the mature side. Overall, Maahir Legacy is a must try for anyone seeking high quality, crowd pleasing scent on a budget.

One of the rare instances where i actually prefer the clone over the og. I had a sample of sedley before and also smelled it in a fragrance store. I thought it smelled okay but nothing I'd get. But damn, my friend let me get a few sprays of his mahir legacy and something in the drydown of this is more addictive. The opening is alright, nothing crazy..but once it settles..oh man. I couldn't stop sniffing. It deviated slightly from sedley's sprite dna, and went for something more piercing and spicy. Maybe they amped up some notes. This is a fresh spicy masterpiece. I'd layer this with something of the tygar dna. Maybe maison asrar majesty. They're both heavy on the citrus so they should compliment each other.

"Maahir legacy is that example, why dupes were starting to live up to their hype" (Hear me out) Being the dupe of my second favorite PDM, Sedley, I found myself very interested in Maahir legacy. Knowing what Sedley smelled like, Maahir legacy picked me up on that smell. The fizzy sprite, that people describe it with, lime and citrus. I fell in love with it, its very versatile for warmer weather being a all rounder for any sitatuion. And here comes the only problem with dupes, they might not last as long, as the original. From Maahir legacy, I get about 3-4h on skin while on clothes it lasts longer. Most Dupes already looked into that problem, lasting almost as good or even better than the original.

This one took a while to grow on me. When I originally wore it the first few times I thought it was very synthetic and kind of sharp or "pissy" smelling. I of put it down and didn't come back to it for a while, but one day my daughter asked to try one of my fragrances and I gave her a few sprays of Maahir Legacy. Later that evening we went to a family party and I could smell her from a good distance and it smelled amazing in the air. Since then I wear it quite often and it does smell very close to Sedly and it smells much better on the air than up close on the skin. It lasts a very long time for a freshy citrus fragrance. Underrated and highly worth the purchase.

Fragrance Journal Entry #6 This is the second best cheap fresh fragrance in my opinion falling behind only by khadlaj island , this fragrance is very citrus , and fresh but it dries down to something more sweet and def woody , i love to use this fragrance after taking a shower and i use it a lot to work out in the gym is def my use and abuse alongside nautica voyage , and for the price its def worth it , however if you can find yourself a bottle of khadlaj island go for it , because it's better , however this one if you combine it with a another fragrance with a sweet scent damn it makes a incredible combination , def worth it , and i def recommend it!

So good. Fougère-like, masculine, and nicely layered. The musky and cashmere notes give the base a slightly rough quality, though. That part is probably my least favorite. The grapefruit and mint make the opening feel fresh and energetic. Then you get those Aventus-style woods, tonka, and pepper, which give it more depth and round everything out. It also has that classic ambroxan, pepper, and geranium combination that shows up in a lot of modern masculine fragrances. At times, you might get a little Aventus. Then in the middle, there’s a clean, soapy freshness that reminds me of Sedley. Very nice. Very, very nice. 8.75/10

Never had/smelled Sedley before, but I picked this up because I needed something for warmer months and liked the idea of a lemon lime soda scented opening. Other reviewers weren’t kidding; the Sprite-like opening is super fresh, but never gets overpowering even with multiple sprays. I do wish it would last longer though, as it becomes a skin scent after about 3-4 hours. Wife also loves the smell, and clarified it doesn’t smell anything like Pinesol, which is what her family used to clean the house when she was a kid. Amazing fragrance for the price!

Fragrance Journal Entry #71 The bottle presentation is a bit wacky but i have to say it's pretty high quality, thick glass and the cap is a weapon. With that said the scent is great, it's a sporty citrusy fizzy kind of smell, some people say it smells like sprite but i dissagree although i understand where their coming from...to me this smells like lemon-lime tonic water put into shower gel. Very pleasant fragrance with supprisingly good performance, a no brainer at $20. Rating: 7.9/10 Blind Buy Safe? YES

This is the one I reach for most in my whole collection. It covers gym, office and warm weather easily, it is my top grab. But when I first got it, it barely lasted at all. It really needs time to mature. I have finished five bottles and I have learnt to buy it late summer or in winter so it has enough time to settle before I wear it properly. *Do not buy this if you want strong performance immediately, you will be disappointed* Worth noting, the "Fragrance World Sedley" has much better performance.

First impression is like a fizzy soda, think Sprite or other fresh limey/citrusy lemonade. Beautiful fresh and inviting aura. As it starts to dry-down it invites warmth from woods and a bit of incense. Truly just a bit to warm it up. Its more of an ambery base with tonka sweetness complemented by the lavender-geranium-soapie freshness. But it holds its fizzy quality quite nicely. I've had the bottle for quite some time...like 6 months or so. Really loving its freshness and that bit of woody warmth.

Lattafa Maahir Legacy Longevity: 8.7/10 Silage: 8/10 Scent Profile: 8.8/10 This is one of those fragrances that you need to smell on your skin to get the full effect. And let me tell you, when you do decide to do that, it is very much worth it. It starts off with a minty lime blast, almost better than Pacific Aura, before shifting to a slightly woody tropical profile, before finishing sweet. This is one of the most versatile fragrances out there, and it is worth it's premium dupe price tag. 8.8/10

Listen, this isn’t a very complex fragrance it’s pretty linear but it is one of my best cheapies. Such a compliment getter one of my most complimented fragrances believe it or not. It’s a very clean cut masculine fragrance and I’ve been told I smell like “sexy sprite” more than once. I wouldn’t say it’s quite blind buy safe as some people may not like the lime. The performance isn’t amazing but it’s so cheap I just reapply a few time throughout the day I’m on my 4th bottle

Nose Note #606 It is a lot like Al Rehab For Men, but if For Men is super soapy and more old school, this feels fresher, lighter, the citrus note dominates the composition and in the opening the lime is kind of sweet. A wonderful mens fougere. It is still somewhat old school (i.e. just manly, 0% unisex). You have to try it to understand, the notes don't show the whole picture at all. This is a unique DNA. It's miles better than For Men. 8.5/10, just a superb mens fougere

This smells so very close to Sedley by PDM. It just has a lil more lime zest with that aromatic lavender with a spearmint in the opening. That fresh spicy mix is close to Sedley in the mid as it settles. As it drys down I still get the lime lil mint with the lavender n then the ambroxan joins the party. All in all a very good Sedley like clone. Smells damn good and my girl loves it on me. Sold for that price. Thank you Lattafa. Not Sedley but daammmnnnn close.

95% accurate to PDM Sedley IMO, amazing for the price. One of the best dupes on the market, if not the best! Great blend by Lattafa. Minty and Citrusy, great for the gym but honestly is a great dumb reach option in general. I've worn this to work, school, casually, etc. If you're new to shopping for cologne this is a great blind but for any guy. Solid 10/10 from me, if I didnt own PDM Sedley I would buy again.

When i first put it on my skin it smelled really chemical for about 5 minutes but it developed and it was not chemical anymore at all you could really smell the citrus in this but after an hour the citrus faded and it became more woody and the pineapple and lavender also fade I would recommend this for anyone as a everyday parfum as it was my first blindbuy and i love it

I picked this up a few months ago. I live in SE Asia and it works well in the heat. I love the opening, citrus and a bit of mint. I can’t speak to the Sedleyism of it, because I’ve never tried Sedley other than a tester strip, a long time ago, but in its own right this is a good scent. It’s definitely not my favourite that I own, but it’s in the rotation for daytime use.

Having recently experienced Sedley at a department store, I fully agree with the listed con that it's "denser and less airy than the original". However, I find that to be a pro as it enhances the best notes. This has become my favorite go-to gym and summer scent. I hereby declare that Lattafa is forbidden from ever discontinuing this fragrance!

Monster scent, one of the best arab frags for summer, cheap asf since the hype train hasnt rode its balls yet. Gatekeep so it stays sub 30 usd, dont need this to be 50+ like hawas. Smells like a very fresh, simple yet prominent scent. Very pleasant and noticeable + mass appealing. Can't go wrong with this absolute unit of a frag.

Out of all the dupes and even some of the flankers this is one of my most complimented fragrance during the spring and summer time... I went to the dentist a few weeks back and the customer care, assistant dentist, primary dentist (all women) want to know what the hell im wearing 🤣🤣🤣 8/10 for me... Awesome in warm weather.

I sprayed this and Sedley one on each arm and asked my family to give opinions immediately, after 30 minutes and after 1 hour. They rated Sedley very slightly better at the opening, then couldn’t tell a difference after 30 minutes. For the price, this is AMAZING. I just bought a 2nd bottle for $18 at Walmart.com.

Brilliant, it's one of my favorites from lattafa, it smells fresh, mint, lime, it's a bit metallic, but brilliant, I fell in love with it, it sends me back to 2010 to listen to Inna While driving towards the sea, it's so brilliant that once you get there you don't want to abandon it ❤️

It's really close. The bottle is unique and a bit weird tbh.... don't forget to push de bottle cap on harder so it clicks otherwise u will hurt ur feet when it falls. Its about for me tbh 90-95% close its one of my favorite!

Great sent profile you really get the lime you really get that pineapple you get that aromatic in your in your scent bubble the projection is really good I think it goes further on close especially with the scent trail.

Man people aren't talking as good about this as it needs to be. It smells exactly like sedley to me. My bottle has been sitting for a few months and now the performance is very good. It costs $20. This is fantastic.

This is amazing. One of the best offers from lattafa. It like combining an old barber shop fragrance with sprite, mint and lavender. Masculine fresh, clean could be easily a daily driver

Super fresh and I love the Sprite like profile. I’m constantly reaching for this bottle. Performance wasn’t great for me initially but it improved drastically after about a month.

Identical twin to sedley, especially that citric acid like scent that i get from sedley is here which makes it solid, loved it. Immediate full bottle.

i like the scent, nice fizzy lime, but it lasts basically nothing, like it dissapears in 1 hour. waiting for it to macerate 9/10 smell 2/10 projection

IMO the goat dupe fragrance period.

Look I am not pro-clone, or anti-clone. I think some clones are good, many are bad, more still are overhyped in the community, with others falling somewhere in between. But comparing Maahir Legacy alongside Sedley... this is one of the closest clones I've ever smelled. I am sorry to the Sedley owners out there who don't want to hear this, (and would rather claim that their extremely advanced nostrils can justify the $250+ price difference...) but this stuff is fantastic. The scent itself is *extremely* similar to Sedley, even in side by side testing. In finding differences, I can only say that this one is a bit denser, and slightly less effervescent; and it might even have a little more mass appeal. Sure the PDM is a bit airier. But DANG... Lattafa hit the nail on the head with this one. I had Sedley on a wrist and Maahir Legacy on another. My fiance was able to correctly choose which was Sedley; only because (in her words) "the expensive ones always smell a little less dense... but the cheaper one is a little more pleasant" Is Sedley higher quality-? Certainly. I currently own and have previously owned and/or tested many fragrances across a broad variety of price points: niche, designer, and clones. Could I ever justify buying Sedley because of how close Maahir Legacy is? Simply no, and I don't say this lightly. Maybe I hit the batch lottery with my bottle, but this is about as good as a clone can get.

Tried a sample of this and immediately bought a full bottle. It smells like Sprite but with even more lime. You can even pick up a sort of fizzy smell because of the way the mint blends with the lime. As the fragrance develops, some of the warmer and more herbal qualities of frankincense, black pepper, and cashmeran start to appear. It’s incredibly refreshing and easily cuts through extreme heat. This scent feels appropriate for any occasion or setting, and I can already tell it’ll become a dumb-reach fragrance for me because of how effortlessly wearable it is. For a freshie the performance is surprisingly solid. I wore it on a 90°F+ day and still got around four hours out of it. That’s impressive in high heat. The only downside for some people is that the scent profile isn’t especially unique. It definitely smells great, and people will probably think, “Damn, that guy’s cologne smells really good,” but they’re probably not going to compliment you because it doesn’t stand out in a bold or unfamiliar way. I’d say if you don’t already have a citrus-mint combo in your collection, this is a strong buy. But if you’ve already got something in that category with decent performance, you could probably skip it. Personally, I think it’s excellent and I didn’t already have anything quite like it.
