Musk Mood

I was looking for the "Oud Mood | Lattafa / لطافة" perfume online since I do not find these Arabic fragrances in Italian shops. Four variations appeared when I typed Oud Mood into the search field, all available at a ridiculous price for a 100ml EDP. All of this tempted me. I couldn't resist, and I blindly bought them all. Like all the pieces of the Oud Mood collection, the packaging and the bottle are lush and well-finished in every detail. For Oud Mood original, the box is a white-coloured cylindrical tube similar to fine whiskeys, with a golden ribbon that anchors the cap. And a white braided ribbon bandages the thick glass bottle. Not to mention the heavy metal gold cap. Incredible how a perfume paid for around €15 can provide such expensive packaging. But what surprised me the most was the perfume enclosed in the bottle, which I will try to describe. Musk Mood is a clean and soapy aldehyde-musky scent. The muskiness is dual, which means it shows the two facets of musk — the soft, powdery, and creamy side in the opening and the animalistic, damp, and deer moss side in the dry-down. The scent opens with an explosion of sparkling aldehydes, with a synthetic, slightly fruity, and soapy accord. I don’t get any hairspray vibe, but somewhat floral. It is an authentic perfume based on white musk. The aldehydes are pungent and floral, with a subtlety of the lily of the valley. Instead, there is already a dry white musk, shimmering, smoothed by that “feeling of cleanliness,” a sort of Muscone or, better still, Helvetolide, more rounded and flowery. Delicate, powdery, and smooth, it spreads tender freshness and harmony and shows the fundamental mood of the perfume. The top note spreads citrus, clean and fruity notes without overpowering. I let the perfume get familiar with my skin and lose the alcohol part, and it doesn’t take long to guess that the perfume has the same profile and yield as "Acqua di Parisis Essenza Intensa - Musk Sultan | Reyane Tradition". I’m not sure what designer or niche scent inspired them, but they are identical in every way. The evolution is parallel and specular on my skin. You immediately perceive a powdery accord, more similar to violet than iris, with a robust floral component. The heart note is a blend of floral scents, white musk, and vanilla. Now the perfume releases a creamy musky, the poison lily is still in the background, while a rose blends with the musk. From afar, the sweet floral and dewy edge prevails; instead, close to the skin, the mouldy and semi-earthy edge of the musk wins. The sense of cleanliness continues. Then it dries, transforming into a clean cloud, powdery and soft, with salty and musky tones. The base rounds off the scent with earthy musk and creamy sandalwood. Now the moss is wild and animal. The dark side emerges; it’s funky and skanky with a masculine bent. There is a thick, dark, musty, damp smell as if there were a hint of oakmoss. And a rather salty and mineral amber blends with a more vanilla undertone. A lot has changed since the opening. Although belonging to the Lattafa Mood collection, Musk Mood is different from the other flankers. This is a scent centred around musk and without the slightest trace of oud. I find it very versatile, even if it is not the typical white musk scent. It is suitable for almost all seasons, although spring and autumn are the most suitable occasions, preferably during the day. It lasts a decent amount of time with a prominent mossiness and projects well for the first few hours. Then it becomes a perfume on the skin that can still be felt for several hours. However, the scent is light and very suitable for everyday use. When its drops stick to your body, they will completely refresh you giving you that sense of cleanliness. Safe, non-offensive, and non-intrusive. I'm basing my review and opinions on a bottle I've owned since January 2023.

this one was challenging. it was great straight out of the box with a lot of sweet fruity cherry-citrus-vanilla and light floralness and faint musk. then on sitting for a couple weeks, the sandalwood came out, sharp and loud and steamrolled everything else, and the fruity soda top disappeared. I though it had turned into something interesting with all that shouting photorealistic sandalwood, but functionally unwearable. Another several weeks later and it shifted again and now seems settled into a balanced and lasting fatty, soapy aldehydic musk on top of a vintage-iris-rose and sandalwood accord with warm, wheat-y, waxy (not scented candle waxy, more beeswax) vanilla wrapped around it. I do wish some of the citrus-cherry-vanilla-float effect of the very first impression would come back and I'm sort of mystified about where those notes went, but the apparently-finished version of this scent is much richer and less cloying and frankly, probably better and more grown up. It's not a pretty-candy-girly scent, instead it is extremely comforting and nostalgic, dirty-clean, creamy and classy. Makes me think of the base dry down of one my grandmother's frequently worn perfumes, Tresor, so it might use some kind of Grojsman accord variant, for a soft fuzzy warmth and lasting woody-amber-rose backbone to the soapy foam top. It works extremely well in warm weather despite it's full bodied strength, and i bet it would be good in spring and autumn as well. I'm usually more of a fan of much 'cleaner' airier white musks, but there's something so charming and addictive about the 'old fashioned soap flakes' richness and the vintage talc and sandalwood heart that I find i'm reaching for it way more than anything else the last few months. Has 'until you wash it off and maybe even longer' longevity. Extremely potent, overspray at your peril lol, I use 2 spritzes max and I have 'skin eats perfume' chemistry.

This was a blind buy Everyone on Tiktok was saying how this perfume was the ultimate "clean girl" scent- and how it smelled super soapy and as if you just stepped out of the shower. I AGREE 🤍 yasss When I first sprayed this is was super musky. Musk to me smells sort of like baby wipes and it was very much giving baby wipes vibes when I first sprayed it. Afterwards (around 30 min to an hour depending on how much I sprayed), it dried down to a very soapy, fresh perfume. It really does smell similar to dove white bar soap, but this perfume I would say smells slightly more perfume-y (well obviously cuz its a perfume da fuq). When it dries down it giving soap, like its still musky but not baby wipe vibes more sudsy vibes, probably cuz of the florals and other notes peeking through more. I didnt smell any vanilla whatsoever either. I would say you should only spray 1/2 to 1 spray if youre sensitive to fragrance like me and just want to smell pleasant without being super smelly and filling the room. With half a spray people who are very sensitive to small can smell me from 4 ft away, but in public settings like school or at work ppl probably wont be able to smell you with only 1 spray on your arm. I dont reccomend spraying too much because it gets overpowering and also when I sprayed it a lot it never really dried down to the soapy goodness I love, it stayed at that weird baby wipe-ish scent like idk yall. RUN DONT WALK!!! (JK i hate when ppl say this😭😭😭)

This is exactly what I always wanted musk to be! It is a fuzzy, cozy white musk that reminds me of snuggling in a clean blanket, or a clean baby's skin, or skin still pink from a hot shower. Most of the musks I have tried either smell screechy or scratchy or they smell funky after a while, but I took a long run wearing this one and was still in love with this clean and slightly creamy fragrance. I do not specifically smell the notes individually (other than the musk, which, as the name suggests, is prominent), but I get the slightest hint of the citrus in the beginning, and the creamy sandalwood in the drydown. When I say creamy, I don't mean overtly so or lactonic, but just a slight warmth and roundness to this that I don't often get in other musks. Now, I bought a used bottle, so mine was probably already macerated, so perhaps a brand new bottle wouldn't smell this nice or well balanced, but I would call this the musk I have been looking for. Word to the wise - it can be quite potent, especially compared to the Jovan musks I have tried before. Do not over spray until you gauge its strength for yourself.

I've been on the fence about buying this perfume. After reading the reviews and seeing the love and the hate it made me hesitant. But I finally said f*ck it, for $17 why not. You know that feeling that comes over you when you get in a bed that has fresh clean sheets on it? That's how this fragrance makes me feel. It's so clean and soft to me. I don't get baby powder vibes from this. I get downy dryer sheet vibes from this. It's so relaxing and comforting. It's great when you want to smell like you, but better. This perfume is great for bedtime, running errands, lounging around, or anything you want to use it for. My coworkers love this one. If you like clean scents this is for you. If you like bold sweet, vanilla, gourmand, or niche fragrances this might be to tame for you. If you are interested or curious I say pay the $17. If it's a fail give it to a niece or a friend's daughter. But if you hate it, don't do like me and give it to a coworker. Then you are stuck everyday trying to keep from throwing up on them lol. Imjk....kind of.

I am a huge fan of musk fragrances as I love a soapy clean vibe for casual days. I love Teint de Neige and wanted that kind of vibe. Plenty of people seemed to be saying positive things about this so I ordered it and when I tried it, I was very pleasantly surprised. It's really very nice. I'd wear this on a sunny Saturday when I'm wearing jeans and a crisp white t shirt and sneakers with simple minimalist jewellery or to bed on a Sunday evening after the sheets have been changed and I've had a long hot shower. Someone below said laundry detergent and I get that but I personally love that. Who doesnt love clean clothes and linen? I'm really happy with it. I love fragrance and have so many in my collection mostly niche, all expensive but sometimes I don't want to be challenged. Sometimes you just want something simple that just makes you feel pretty. This is it for me. Clean simple powdery fresh gorgeousness.

This fragrance smells like a clean, beautifully decorated, bright, relaxing spa. I could just close my eyes and drift away with this scent. Imagining white linens fluttering in the breeze, warm, soft sunlight filtering in through the clean soft fabric. Vases of fresh cut flowers fill to room with their fragrance. The furniture in the room is unfinished natural wood, and the heat from the sun lifts the scent of cut wood into the air. Soft brightly colored scented candles bring just a hint of a distantly exotic perfume to the air. You're wrapped in an over sized soft light blue bathrobe, the scent of the expensive soap wafting off of your skin... you lay back, and drift away to the sound of relaxing cello and violin music. All is well.. That is what this fragrance brings. Don't miss it!

Very musky and fresh upon first Impressions. Leave it to macerate for the magic to unfold. I definitely get what all the reviews down here say about it smelling like dove bar original scent. Definitely gives a soap sillage on clothes and if you overspray it could fill a whole room. So easy on the trigger. Smells a little bit powdery with a lot of musk and citric nuances. Perhaps the powdery feeling comes from the sandalwood or the floral notes. I don't get much vanilla but a subtle sweetness that does not overtakes the musk or the freshness. If you want to feel like the personification of clean, definitely this is the one to buy. Also for 12 dollars you are stealing from Lattafa with such a bargain. Has pretty good quality too.

I can’t believe how good this is, especially considering how inexpensive it is. I got it for $20 on Amazon. The packaging was even better than most fine fragrances I’ve bought. This EDP is serving Clean Girl vibes all the way. It is very fresh and unisex/slightly femme. My favorite way to wear it is right out of the shower over citrus or vanilla body lotion. I’m going to continue to experiment to see what else it layers nicely with. It’s completely amazing all on its own, though. I can appreciate that not everyone is going to fall in love with it. Musk is like that. That being said, this is the cleanest, freshest musk fragrance I’ve ever come across.

If you love yellow musk scents like Jovan Musk for woman, you will love this. DO NOT test this on day of delivery, wait overnight or a couple of days before smelling, trust me. This did not smell good on the day of delivery for me, smelled like sharp hair spray. I let it sit for a few days, tried it again , and omg was is amazing! Soft, floral, musky scent. The projection is not great, which makes it suitable for perfume sensitive workspaces or going to bed. On my clothes this has good longevity, can smell it for days on clothes. Has a very lotioney, soft, inoffensive dry-down. LOVE IT

I love this scent. This with BBW Gingham Love. Beautiful! At first I did not like it though. It was suuuper strong, real sharp to my nose. Almost too clean of a scent, and it also smelled of dirt a little bit. I let it sit for a month or 2 occasionally using it and it got better with time. Its perfect right now that im in 120 degree weather. I dont even smell the dirt anymore. I LOVE it! I am getting a back up bottle so it can sit and marinate while i finish the one i have. Love this! Clean, light floral and a little sweet. Perfect for summer but definitely can b used all yr round!

This arrived today and I love it! It starts out very powdery, clean and soapy. After a while, you can smell the white musk peeking through. It's very potent, so a little goes a long way. It smells familiar. It kinda reminds me if Bijan Nude by Bijan ,White Musk by The Body Shop and Cashmere Mist by Donna Karan were layered/mixed with each other. It's a nice change from the spice vanilla oud scents that are so popular in the winter. It projects so much that it might be too much in the summer. But I'm willing to try!

At first spray I was nervous, but once it settles this one becomes very pretty. Very light and clean with creamy, soapy smell. I think this one can be worn all the time, a fresh-out-the-shower scent without being sharp. Seems to have a good oil content which will make it long-lasting, but it doesn't have a strong projection. I think it's a safe blind buy and generally unoffensive. Also I own Jovan's white musk which can pull a little mature, I prefer this one much more!

i loveeeeee this it’s so beautiful and powdery, musky but also a light pretty fragrance. i usually don’t like powdery scents but this is really nice! i honestly don’t smell citrus and fruits all i smell is vanilla, musk, sandalwood and floral but i really love it!! once it dries down it’s light but still long lasting and it turns into a pretty skin scent ! i would say it’s good for all seasons and also great for layering!

This perfume is amazing for the smell. Only problem with it for me is the longevity bc it lasts 4 hours with bad sillage and then after that it has a soft smell. I don't smell the citrus not at all. Based on smell : 9/10 Longevity: 6/10 Sillage: 4/10 Price for what you get is amaizing Overall I would rate this a 8 bc of the Longevity and Sillage but the price point is something I have to consider in this rating

Ok, it just arrived today and it smells like bathroom freshener (not the cheap ones but still). Like all Arab perfumes, I will let it sit because they tend to get sooo much better (some faster than others). I’ll come back to update 😉 ➡️ FOUR MONTHS LATER : It’s wayyy better. No bathroom freshener anymore. Just clean and soapy. Great projection and lasting power.

it's the white musk, powdery scent that I smell on the first spirts. Once it dries the sandalwood and a little musky masculine scent stays with you. It doesn't smell like white dove soap as others would say. It's a feminine, fresh fragrance with its own signature of being captivating yet light.

I was surprised at the price of Musk Mood. To me, this is a great daily clean musk, the packaging is also very opulent and it is a great purchase overall. Out of all the Lattafa perfumes, this one has the biggest dent. It is great on its own for a clean vibe, but also great for layering.

Wearing this today and I love it. I will say it’s a very “vintage” smell or dated. It smells old. Just being straight up. But it is soothing. It’s soapy, a tad warm, floral, sharp but soft at the same time. Not sure how long I’ll be enjoying this but it’s working so far.

This is one to one of the Hamil Al Musk purity musk. They might belong to Lattafa. Important difference: those products stay close the the skin but Musk Mood is deceptively s t r o n g. Yes, clean can actually screech - but it's lovely and perfect if you wear it well.

It smells exactly like Ariel (the washing powder) but in a VERY good way. It’s soooo fresh. A perfect ”every-day-scent”. A bit citrusy, a bit sweet and a bit fruity. A perfect combination. The price is SO good, I bought mine for 16€. I give this one a strong 8/10!

The ultimate comfort scent. Clean, musky, vanillic, powdery. Your favourite cozy oversized sweater. Your softest pajamas. I'd be happy if my kids remembered me smelling like this. A "mom" scent that isn't matronly. A warm, soft, gentle hug.

This is truly a perfume that has been formulated for all seasons . It’s fresh , it’s cozy and it’s clean. I wear this everywhere and to bed . I genuinely have nothing bad to say about this perfume and for the price it’s even better .

This thing PERFORMS. I own several white musks but this outperforms any of them. Might have to get a bottle. Very linear and straightforward powdery quintessential musk so dont expect niche-like pyramid evolutions.

It smells like 100% pure musk. I also don't smell citrus. Just flowers and white musk. If you are looking for a cheaper price, take this one. If you are looking for performance, take pure musk from Afnan.

A sophisticated clean musky fragrance. Although it is clean & give a clean shower feel, it is also very sweet at the same time. Absolutely love this. Smells identical to pure musk by lattafa.

Surprisingly lasts for a very long time, was one of my first perfumes and i still love to use it right after taking an everything shower.

this is very fluffy, comforting, clean but with an elegance, its smells like a fancy fabric softner, its very nice and inoffensive

Musk Mood gives a nice scent bubble. This is a more potent than Alyssa Ashley Eau Parfumee which is very similar.

My mom bought this perfume for herself, but then found it to be too strong for her liking so she asked me if i wanted it. Upon first smelling I also thought the musk was quite harsh, but I still decided to give it a shot. I ended up really liking it! I wouldn't say i would go crazy over it, but it is definitely a beautiful, clean scent perfect for everyday activities. I feel like it can be quite strong for some people, so beware of that! I personally can't smell the fruits and vanilla at all; white musk, flowers and sandalwood are definitely the notes that stand out the most. Not sweet at all to me, in fact it can be quite pungent to my nose at first, but after a while it adapts to my skin into a crisp clean, comforting scent. It also sits beautifully on my clothes! I love wearing it during my waitressing shifts at a restaurant, as it makes me feel super clean and fresh even after hours of running around. Perfect for all seasons, but I feel like it works best in medium temperatures. It lasts quite long, and I think it also projects decently without being overpowering.

pleasant uplifting scent but terrible performer and disappointing quality powdery baby powder vibes with some sweetness and a clean sweet subtle freshness I can do like 10 sprays and it'll quickly become a subtle skin scent with a soft bubble be heavy handed with this the worst lattafa performer though that I have. 2-3 later and its completely gone I must continue on my hunt for the perfect musk.i love Narciso Rodrigues Pure Musc and this is not at all in the same league as scent or performer or anything. I will quickly finish my bottle and not repurchase. disappointing this one, as its sister oud mood is so gorgeous and such a heavy wonderful performer lasting for hours and hours and hours. this one just won't.

Check the date on your bottle and let it sit in the cupboard for 6 months. This was so scratchy when I first bought it. I hated it. Like a scratchy powdery throat tickling bomb. But now six months later it’s just clean laundry. I cannot wait to wear this and feel like everyone thinks I’ve literally got out of the shower and dressed. It’s no longer scratchy. It’s a creamy powdery now. I’m guessing that’s where the vanilla comes in. Omg I’m so thrilled. Got my nose stuck to my arm as I’m typing this review. Don’t get me wrong this is almost vintage but I can’t say it’s old lady because I can picture a little girl running past freshly bathed. It’s beautiful.

Musk mood is a warmly welcomed follow-up to Oud Mood. It adds depth and character to any frag head's collection. The musk is not as pronounced as one would expect, but I like how it is dialed back yet very present. Musk Mood is my musk fragrance of choice while wearing a suit, an open collar with a sportscoat, or white linen pants with a black v–neck and black sandals. It's clean and does not overly command attention but somehow draws it anyhow from individuals at a time rather than crowds. I don't understand some of the deep-seated hate Musk Mood gets, but it works well with my chemistry and is very much appreciated~

smells like you just stepped out of the shower, there's not much more to it. i like it for days when i want to smell clean but not perfumed, sometimes i wear it to bed too. i don't smell the citrus notes at all, it just smells like white musk to me. in fact the white musk tahar from fragrance of arabia smells nearly identical (thankfully it smells less sharp). my bottle is maybe twenty sprays away from empty and i won't be repurchasing as i would like a clean perfume with more depth. if you don't like to smell perfumed but you want people to comment on how good you smell, this is a safe bet especially for the price.

I was looking for an affordable musky clean scent. This is such a nice baby powder scent. When I first got it it smelled like a nostalgic soap. My girlfriend thought it smelled kinda alcoholy in the bottle on skin it smells like baby powder. It's a stronger fragrance so I'd make sure that if you're mixing scents it's got a clean smell vibe. I like wearing lush sex bomb body spray with it smells sooooo soapy. I love it. It's definitely not for everybody but if you're a clean, laundry scent lover then this is great.

A pretty inoffensive fragrance, stays close to the skin. Opens with floral and dries down musky and so so creamy with a touch of sandalwood. Its blended so beautifully, you immediately get all the notes without having to "air" out the alcohol. I'm pretty sure this is something I've smelled before but nothing that sits this well on my skin. Definitely in the clean genre but not laundry or soap clean more of shower/skin clean. Think baby powder and creamy lotion. Not bad for my first introduction to Arab fragrances

Unexpectedly good! The only reason I blind bought it is the 10$ price tag! I like clean musk scents, but I’m not a fan of musky-powdery scents, almost all of them too dusty and dry. So I was extremely hesitant! This one is an exception. Although it’s powdery and slightly dry it is extremely comforting. It reminds me some kind of clay scent (pink clay face masks) or make up powder. This is like a basic scent, but not juvenile and pretty special, with some light florals and musk Makes me feel clean and feminine.

I'm so glad I gave this another try! The first time I tried I thought "Oh no!" It smelled like hair spray. I came back to it about a week later and it was a nice clean sparkling scent that dries down powdery. I have been wearing it for a week straight and it is easy to wear and inoffensive. It lasts a good while 6+ hours. The packaging is also pretty fancy for the price. Prince64's review of this scent is very thorough.

I bought this 2 weeks ago. When I first sprayed it, I thought it was awful, it smelled cheap, like cheap barber shop, as someone else wrote in their review. I left it, thinking it was a failed blind buy...tonight for whatever reason I decided to spray it before bed...Oh my word...absolutely delicious, relaxing clean smell of freshly washed and ironed white Egyptian cotton sheets...for less than £15, amazing! 🤍

This is a clean, musky, slightly powdery, aldehydic, inoffensive fragrance. The packaging is beautiful much like most Lattafa fragrances. For me, it wasn't overly strong. The projection for me was moderate. Can't speak on the longevity since I haven't given it a full wear, just a skin test. I do like this scent and I could also see it layering very well with other scents as well.

It’s a really nice clean powdery scent! Arabian houses like lattafa and afnan’s musks are so smooth and lovely. If you find the longevity and or the projection to be lacking then i’d recommend putting on some musk oil before spraying this on. Afnan makes really good affordable musk oils like musk abiyedh. Really pulls it all together. Great pick up for those who enjoy musk.

It’s an instant hit of white musk / soapy smell. This was a blind buy because I was used to the smell of musk in other scents especially from when I was a kid. On one hand It’s definitely not a bad smell if you’re into the soapy/musk scents. But on the other hand I can also see this being like a grandma perfume if you’re into grandma perfumes like me lol.

Uplifting, clean and strong fresh musk, almost soapy. Has also some hint of a light lemon juice. Nice performances for being a musky scent, it projects and last a lot. It's literally the same juice of Lattafa Pure Musk by the way, i have both and i don't smell almost any differences, maybe Musk Mood is a little bit sweeter.

I ended up blind buying this for around $13 on Amazon. I like layering this with other scents for day but I really like one spray on pj's at night. Others have remarked on an underlying scent and for me I feel it's cornsilk. I catch just the slightest hint of fresh corn silk. I like it but probably not the safest blind buy.

Got a sample to try not expecting to like it that much but wow this is nice! Smells just like my dove soap! It smells very clean. My husband wasn't a big fan and I don't know if I would reach for it as much as my others but its a clean girl soap smell for sure. I am getting a whole bottle once I finish the sample!

White linens washed in very very musky detergent. There's a hint of something floral and a touch vanillic in the background, but it's mostly a warm and powdery musk. Can be worn all year round, though I think it needs a bit of external heat to be appreciated. Projects well above arms' length on my skin.
