Vintage Castle doesn’t merely develop on skin—it invites you to explore it. As it settled, I noted the faintest, fleeting impression of saffron blooming alongside the mimosa. It isn’t listed among the notes but appeared as a quiet golden warmth on my skin—easy to miss from a distance, yet unmistakably present to me. Whether that impression came from the interplay of the composition or simply the way it wears on me hardly matters. It’s one of those beautiful little discoveries that makes each wearing feel personal. The way in which the veil of saffron disappears discreetly leaves you to wonder if you only imagined it. For anyone who appreciates aromatic, elegant patchouli without excessive sweetness or overwhelming darkness, this is one of the best economical hidden gems I’ve discovered this year. Green ink scent 🌿🌞🍀 I bought it, it's a rip-off, blindly. The bottle is a work of art - it could easily be a statuette in a vintage home. The scent... WOW!!! - not something I would like on a prima vista. At first spray - sharp, very masculine, aftershave cologne. Green - cuts the nose, splits the air! After a few days of wearing it, during the drydown, I feel like I can smell a drop of basil and a hint of lavender. Already smell powder, a little sweetness and an inky note - green, woody, forest ink - from wood, to draw a green heart on it. It's spring now, it fits perfectly with the reviving nature. Well, I like it a lot! Absolutely niche, so MINE!

Such a great Patchouli scent. It's similar to Sole Patchouli but this is more powdery, which makes it easier to wear. Performs well enough but with moderate projection. It has a gentlemanly vibe and would be nice for grown ups who like to dress up.

Simply iconic. Powdery, new, youthful patchouli. Marshmallow just gives it texture, its not sweet. But it is fluffy. The mimosa adds into this. Cant find the civet for the life of me. A clean staple in my house. Strong AF. Its niche emarati baby!

Really good patchouli. I haven’t smelled the OG but this is good. Earthy patchouli. It is also very clean and lightly musky. You get a hint of florals too that balance the patchouli. Definitely a clean smell while feeling niche.

I was scared because of all the patchouli in but it’s actually really good. Kinda wish the marshmallow note was a little bit louder but it’s still good. Blind buy successful!

Very earthy and strong you need to like earthy patchouli to like it, very unique tho

The first 5-10 seconds reminds me of Sauvage of all things. It has this rounded, semi-warm ambroxany smell even though it isnt listed on the note breakdown but it quickly goes into the powdery realm. Not a lipsticky powder like DHI or sweet like Prada Luna Rossa black, but this neutral, soft powder scent i can only associate with the color gray or a very faded shade of lilac/purple. Patchouli becomes more proeminent after 10 minutes and stays for the duration of the scent, a green and earthy, herbal patchouli that isn't sweet at all, in fact it's kinda minty and fresh. Not a loud fragrance, but lasts easily a full day. There's nothing feminine or unissex here, absolutely a men's frag. Overall, the scent itself it's very well balanced and blended. The "Niche Emarati" line from Lattafa does deliver higher quality blends and oils than their standard line and even their Pride line, as the superior feel it has is quite evident. I like this one, but i'm on the fence about getting a full bottle, i feel this one needs a specific occasion and attire to be worn and doesn't quite fit the daily wear spot. Not a date night frag. Not an office scent. It's more of a wedding event and such, type of fragrance. The far drydown smells very close to Artisan XX from John Varvatos, but that one is a vetiver forward, fresher and casual experience. Or, if you just want to wear a great patchouli scent for yourself when you're feeling introspective on a rainy day.

Lattafa Niche Emarati Vintage Castle. I swear off blind buying once a month, but then I get a good discount code or something and here we are. I also previously swore off Lattafa after falling bait to hype around Asad and Pisa, neither of which I liked at all. That being said, this is a reported dupe for Vertus Sole Patchouli, and that's one of my favorite bottles in the collection. I think the bottle is super cool too. Vertus usually goes for around 110 bucks on discounters, and I got this for 35, so I figured I'd give it a try. It's my favorite Lattafa I've owned yet, or Middle Eastern fragrance at all simply because the bottle is cool, and the juice is a pretty much spot on copy. It does smell a lot cheaper, with a sharp alcohol touch not present in the juice it intends to emulate, and some more synthetic vibes than the Vertus stuff, all in the top. After that, it's pretty much exact. Basically, I'll be using this as a daily driver. Vertus will move to special occasions and I will be a little less (just a little though; Asad Zanzibar remains the worst bottle I own) hesitant to grab Lattafa products moving forward. And I have three more blind buys on the way 😬

There is a bit of nostalgia here. Like dusty books to me; very similar to walking through a library, a dusty, old, harry pottter-style library with sconces and stone-floors.

Powerful stuff, and pretty unique for me. Really atmospheric, earthy-woody-moldy with flowers.

Vintage Castle is a vintage men’s shaving soap smell with tons of civet that’s a bit lipsticky and aniseedy. I can’t work out the dupe of this as it’s quite unusual - Diaghilev? Green patchouli, iris, mimosa, marshmallow and civette. Unique and worth experiencing.

This is an intense, polarizing scent. Probably the closest comparison is Fahrenheit in its original formulation. Same intense gasoline-ish note that launches its way into your sinuses at 1000 mph. If you've smelled the original Fahrenheit you definitely have an opinion on it, that should guide your purchasing decision.

#1629 in my “Tour de Fragrance” I ordered a bottle of this after reviewing “Sole Patchouli” as so many users reviewing that Vertus scent considered this a clone of that fabulous patchouli fragrance. My verdict: not even close. This is not a clone of the Vertus. Not remotely as green. The level of patchouli is nowhere near the nuclear strength of the Vertus. The dry down is almost peppery, with the patchouli all but disappearing. Ends up smelling like dirt and mold. A complete waste of money. I’ll put this in storage for a few months and see if it improves, but if not it goes in the trash. I won’t wear it as it is. For now I’d say avoid this.

I perceive this fragrance very differently from many of the opinions below. For me, there isn’t even a trace of patchouli here, even though it is listed in the notes at every stage of the perfume’s development. To my nose, this is a fragrance that is almost green and fresh from the very beginning. Almost – because the opening starts with a rather pleasant, slightly earthy iris. This is the only moment in the fragrance that could really be described that way. Unfortunately it lasts only a brief moment, maybe around 15 seconds, after which the green facet I mentioned takes over and remains present until the very end. The scent changes quite noticeably. At first it is a herbal, aromatic green accord – slightly minty and somewhat sweet. After that I detect a green apple note (perhaps the Verdox HC molecule?). Unfortunately it doesn’t smell particularly natural, although I wouldn’t say it is unpleasant either – the overall impression remains quite enjoyable. As the heart develops, the apple fades into a more abstract sweet greenness with a slightly powdery texture, which is probably mimosa. In the base, the fragrance remains green and fresh, only slightly deepened by something that adds a bit more depth. The performance is quite good – I could still smell it on my sweatshirt two days later. Overall, it’s a pleasant, safe, and unisex fragrance. I don’t know the original, so I can’t make a comparison. However, patchouli seekers and lovers should probably keep looking. Even though many people say this is simply a different interpretation of patchouli, to me it feels more like a suggestion created by the fragrance’s marketing.

I blind bought this because why not. Really good stuff i have yet to fail a blind buy i think its just going to be very hard to wear. The presentation is amazing and the quality is even better then most "niche houses" Trust me if they slapped this juice into a dark brown parfums de marley bottle and listed it for 500 it would immediatley sellout. The presentaion is crazy 10/10 it felt like i was opening a toskovat. The smell is so good and mysterious it smells spicy earthy and old. It smells a bit like ink but not really. It has more of a dark dark green aspect. Like withered flowers, burnt patchoulli, dirt, dust, fur, and old books. slight sweetness but it maintains that old castle feel. It feels like you are in an unknown area off your map and you find a castle, old but still standing. lady dimetresc from resident evil village would wear this

Animalic dirty orris with a beautiful floral character. Really good stuff. Obscene huge metal bottle which made me debate if I should really buy this monstrosity... Should have been bottled in a graceful flacon. I have it, I like the fragrance, but I simply cannot stand bad taste.

I'll buy these just for the bottles
