Opulent Musk

Ok so, I'm not sure what this is supposed to be duping. The reviews constantly seems divided. So if we're going strictly 540,I'll review that. I have the dossier version of 540 and I constantly hear about how similar those two are. While there is minor differences. To put it lightly, I HAAAATE the 540 dossier dupe. If the dossier fragrance is what 540 even remotely smells like, then I don't want it. To me,the dossier version smells like you're sitting in a clean dentists office, and you get whiffs of someone who's been smoking. It's disgusting. It smells dusty, medicinal and ashy. So I've been on the lookout for other dupes, just to see how I truly feel. And oh man. This is what I HAD WISHED the 540 dossier dupe was! It's floral, musky, definitely some funky oud and some clean citrus. I don't get that ashyness I got from the dossier one. This one to me,is way more wearable and likeable. This is a full bodied musk, but still manages to be light,and airy. This also, smells raw,real and quite natural. You're gonna have to love unique smells,and funky ouds to like this one. Compared to a lot of fragrances, this is very easy to wear in my opinion, and would be really great for layering. I think this would shine beautifully in the spring, for sure. ............................................................. Side note, out of all the opulent line. I'll give a quick little opinion for each one. Opulent musk- most fresh, most clean, good amount of citrus. And the most amount of saffron. It's fresh but still has this animalic quality. Opulent Red - The most unique and most strange. It doesn't smell like anything I own. Least safe blind buy. Opulent Oud - The most dark, the most rich, the most amount of oud and sweetness. Opulent blue Oud - The easiest to wear, and the least funky. Minimal oud. Very aquatic. Very mass appealing in my opinion.

JoeyTaylor and Midifire hit the spot on this one. 'Opulent Musk' is NOT a clone of 540 but of 'Precious Oud'/'Amber Fever'/'Instant Crush' by Mancera. As in... it's closer to the Mancera-inspired perfumes, not MFK. I've had at least 3/3 of those perfumes in one point of my life. Firstly, this isn't a fresh scent at all... Looking at the note pyramid I feel there are some missing facets. There is something slightly skanky and animalic in the mid notes, possibly synthetic oud to be honest. Luckily, I don't get the cat pee. This starts off citrusy-sweet saffron (no orange like in 540) and immediately starts to dry down musky-slightly skanky then in the COMPLETE dry down the skankiness disappears. The signature saffron is present all the way. Honestly it smells like a super masculine instant crush! This is actually surprisingly strong with a pleasant silage...the first time I wore this after 3 hours I received a compliment from a stranger (female) outside saying I smelled heavenly. She immediately asked for the name of the scent. Even though I don't NEED this (and I do prefer instant crush/amber fever), I definitely can say this is a winner for me, recommend you try it out!

This is so complex but really good! It smells like a rich lady and is in the same category as BR540 or instant crush. BUT the first time I opened and sprayed it, the top notes smelled like hay/leather, which I’ve read a lot on here. This is actually a very common smell for saffron. Sometimes it’s sweet sometimes leathery/medicinal. But after this Perfume “macerated” (after about a week) it turned into such a beautiful sweet musky resinous amber scent which does smell kind of like BR540. The heavy saffron toned down a lot after the perfume has been “opened” and left a gorgeous sweet and airy fragrance. Nonetheless it’s a fragrance on it’s own because it has a different kind of saffron note that blends with the musk in a very interesting unique way. But people around you and yourself won’t really smell that saffron too much. The musk, amber and resin are really sweet and outdo the saffron a lot when you smell this perfume out of the air, which is what you’ll be doing, when you are wearing it and as it creates a scent bubble. Not a safe blind buy but I wish people would give it a second chance after it stood on the shelf for a little while.

I’m addicted to this perfume! Wasn’t sure it would be right for me as I am bored with the Baccarat Rouge DNA. There are shades of BR but it’s no dupe. Opulent Musk is its own thing. But guys, you must train your nose to recognize and appreciate saffron. The ‘gasoline’ vibe? It’s saffron. Smells ‘medicinal?’ It’s saffron. If you’re going to enjoy Middle East perfumes, then wrap your mind around saffron because it’s magical when given a minute to settle on the skin. Because of lemon in the top note, Opulent Musk has a brightness about it that makes it perfect for year around wear. But the lemon takes a back seat quickly and allows the deeper notes of jasmine and amber to shine. Cedar mixed with the fir note create a deep and interesting base that is unique from mainstream musks. This perfume makes me feel happy and...free. An affordable gem - highly recommended!

I love love this scent. This has a Similar DNA to Baccarat Rouge 540 but its definitely not a Dupe. This has some Citrus to it in the opening notes and a lot of musk which gives this a character of its own. I also get some incense in it? This is more of an inspired fragrance however can be assumed to be baccarat by anyone not too familiar with it. the longevity is Insane! Beast mode projection for the first hour then settles into arm length for the subsequent 7. Lasts Days on clothes. Definitely unisex and a compliment magnet and works great for the day and equally at night. It doesn't have a middle eastern DNA but may come off a little Spicy. This is NOT a safe blind Buy, as I don't think this scent is for everyone. Did not get any of the gasoline I've seen in lots of this comments. Layer this with Soft by Al Rehab, You will looooove it!

(tested on clean skin, no lotion, 3 spritzes) One of the original creations of Lattafa, I would say this really fits the brand. For those who are clean musk enthusiasts like me, I would really recommend trying out one of these "dirty" musk perfumes if you haven't already. It is very beautifully done and gives musk a whole new personality. Very raw, pheromonic and sensual rather than clean laundry feel. I could see this being more male-leaning, as most women would prefer to go for more refined, elegant musks. But it is still a unisex perfume at it's core. Long lasting scent and strong projection. If you spray this on fabric, I am sure it will never ever EVER go away, so if you dont like this perfume, be aware of that. I do like the subtle floral and citrus notes that helps balance out the heavy wood notes.

The opening is really abhorrent, you really feel like you made a mistake when you first try this. But as it settles and dries (the wet state of this perfume is absolutely horrifying let me underline that fact extensively) the BR and the musk-citrus combo start to waft out, and it works exceptionally better on skin. I would be delighted if this gets sweeter with maturation and the lemon (which to me is the real culprit on the acrid urinal-cake opening) starts degrading and let the musk and the BR combo really speak, because they have something to say. Not really strong on the fir resin, which i would have liked. Do not stick your nose in, and you’ll see good results in the air. For now Ana Abiyed Rouge stays winning, let’s see how this develops.

I love this perfume. A lot of people complain about the opening, but honestly, I’ve noticed that most Arab perfumes have a very strong opening, especially budget ones like Lattafa, Ahmed, and similar brands. That said, it’s definitely unisex. However, if you’re someone who loves very sweet, floral scents, this probably isn’t for you. It leans more woody, and the musk isn’t a clean, laundry-type musk. It’s more earthy. To me, it feels a bit like BR540, but more grounded and earthy. The dry-down is actually very pleasing a powdery, woody musk that feels smooth and wearable. It lasts a long time, and the projection is moderate. People will smell it when they’re close to you, but it’s not overpowering or extreme.

This is an Exact dupe of tiziana terenzi spirito fiorentino, I get why people says it’s dupe for BR540, because tiziana terenzi spirito fiorentino have the same vibe as the BR540, and even though people says it’s a dupe but it’s not this is the dupe of tiziana terenzi spirito fiorentino with a hint of tiziana terenzi Kirke on the background, from the first sniff I was like I know what is this I ran to my room smelled BR540 no , extrait nope , tiziana terenzi spirito fiorentino absolutely and Kirke, performance is good it smells expensive very expensive instead of $200 you only pay $30-$35 so it’s a steal and a hidden gem if you like those mysterious fragrance this one is for you !

I can see the initial similarities to BR and Spirito Fiorentino. That bright transparent burnt sugar and saffron note which I love (no iodine or medicinal tone for me). It feels much more floral to me almost like there’s Ylang (although none in the notes)...which lends that big fat floral aura without it really resembling an individually discernible floral note. I also get a punch of non-animalic suede which feels very similar to that in TF White Suede. The top notes linger and blur with the midnotes which is lovely. The soft musk like NR for her line and the cedar smells on my skin like a warm dry sandalwood. This is truly gorgeous.

I just got mine in the mail today. First I'll say that this is absolutely a safe blind buy. I have 2 other opulent fragrances I have the blue oud which was my favorite and the opulent oud. This one is everything I love about the dry down of the blue oud. The fresh powdery, semi sweet, slightly woody essence. To be honest this is very calming for some reason. It makes me think of fresh linen in a log cabin lol. Like the other 2 opulent fragrances I own which I found at Burlington for 15 dollars this one I found on Amazon for around the same price. Definitely worth every penny and if by chance I run out I'm getting another bottle.

So far Lattafa has produced two fragrances with the BR540 DNA - Ana Abiyedh Rouge and Opulent Musk. While Ana Abiyedh Rouge is fruity, sweeter and linear (it's a beauty, by the way), Opulent Musk develops in stages through the wear. There is a point in the dry-down where I am getting Jo Malone's Oud & Bergamot vibes, which only makes this fragrance all the more lovable. There is more depth here, and yet again this fragrance house boggles the mind with the quality they produce at such low prices. Opulent Musk is $20, but easily worth ten times that. This is smooth, tangy, sweet, musky, chic and so comforting. Love it💖

This is a great affordable gem. The musk is balanced with prominent notes of amber and saffron. I don't find this to smell anything like Baccarat Rouge. There may be a slight similarity but they're distant cousins. However, I do find this to be quite close to Amber Fever by Mancera. I own Amber Fever and decided that they are too similar to own both. If I had known I would've saved money and only purchased Opulent Musk. The bottle itself is nice and appealing to the eye. Performance is good. Great year around scent. Longevity:8.5 /10 Projection: 7/10 Overall Experience: 8.5/10

Citrusy, musky and woody fragrance with a hint of saffron that makes it rich and precious. This one softly envelops the one wearing with the floral vibes along with lemon to balance the sweetness and musk, wood, and cedar to give it a mysterious and confident feel. Longevity is long lasting and the silage is gentle. This one smell really expensive, luxurious and outstanding. The best part is the way it develops in stages throughout the day. Such a lovable juice in a cute bottle. Overall, a tangy, smooth, musky, sweet and chic that is very comforting and adorable. Stunning!

Opulent Musk is a beautiful citrus/musk/woody fragrance which has a nice saffron addition to it. Its richness is easy to wear both for day-to-day or an evening out with friends. Softly enveloping, here are some florals, but the main combo is the lemon with musk and cedar wood. Long lasting with quite a gentle sillage, this is more of a traditionally Western fragrance than the house's better known oud offerings. As a big fan of several of Lattafa's other perfumes, I have to say that with Opulent Musk, they deliver once again. Highly recommended.

A pleasant fragrance. The balance of musk, and wood is perfect. The white florals floating in the background lift the fragrance from becoming too dense... and the resins plus amber round out the scent with just a touch of rich sweetness. Really nice fragrance that can be worn in warm or cool weather. Hot weather makes the fragrance a bit too heavy, and super cold doesn't seem to lift the fragrance enough to give it justice... so I recommend mild weather either cool or warm. I think this could be dressed up, or dressed down and casual.

Someone else said it perfectly, this is an earthy musk, not a laundry musk. Yet it's still so soft. It's unisex, but soft. Makes me feel cozy when I wear it. I enjoy it on its own, but I also use it for layering. I think it's going to be a staple on my perfume tray. It's intimate on my skin, just shy of arm's length, but enhances what it's layered with. It lasts a solid 6 hours noticably, and even longer on clothes. As it stands, I give it a happy 9/10. If it were just a hair stronger, it would be a 10/10.

I am shocked this had so many negative reviews. I work in a department store that carries mfk br540 and this is a really solid version of that DNA for the price. It actually reminds me of a combination of br540 and kurky from the same line. The initial is a little medicinal but it dried down almost instantly and becomes a dreamy beautiful musk. Can be layered to add some depth and intrigue to other fragrances. Absolutely worth the buy.

Some people may really hate this and yes it took me some time to understand this fragrance. To me it smells like pure leather. Like if you buy a leather purse even that theres no leather note. So its not sweet or anything so its a unisex fragrance. I dont think people would tell that you wear fragrance they would just think its your leather bag. It does smell very very expensive. I love mixing this with simple vanilla fragrances..

This was a blind buy and I didn't like it very much at the beginning. There was something that smelled like a dentist's office or a clinic or something the first time I sprayed it, and I did not enjoy that. But now... I'm in love! This is such a gorgeous perfume. It reminds me of something from when I was little, I just can't pinpoint what exactly it is. Maybe the mall in Makkah in front of the Grand Mosque?

I don't care for BR540, and I didn't seek this out as an alternative to it. I got a sample in a swap from another perfumista and it blew me away. Musk amplified by saffron. Resinous notes. If that sounds appealing to you and you don't mind an ENORMOUS scent, give Opulent Musk a try. I'd be happy to supply samples at cost (pay for the vial and shipping) to anyone who wants to try it.

The opening is not the best, but when it settles down, is warm, spicy and caramel-like sweetness <3 Longevity is beast mode on me ( with a very dry skin), siaj is moderate. Overall a very good purchase! It reminds me of Ana Abyed Rouge (this is more medicinal) and Ariana Grande- Cloud (this has a more close to skin siaj, and a better opening, but weaker longevity on me)

I bought this fragrance because one of my favorite YouTube reviewers RuthAnn McKinnon said it was a sweeeeet and beautiful musk and it really is. Not for scent sensitive environments, and I love it! I checked a few years later, and saw on Fragrantica.com that it was compared to BR540. That is a beautiful perfume, and I'm glad I have Opulent Musk regardless.

This is such a such a soft easy to wear scent. I just got it and it still needs to maturate because the opening is still a little bit screechy but it settles so beautifully. It’s definitely a br540 dupe and is actually a good one because it has that inviting quality. The price also can’t beat. This is going to be a repeat purchase for sure

This is an oriental musky gorgeous wrap. Beautiful from first spray to long after it blooms. This makes me feel beautiful and sophisticated in a very quiet and enveloping way. The price point is magnificent and it layers beautifully with oud blends and add depth to fresher more citrus leaning combos too...

For me, I prefer this to BR540 smells of class. I find it very smooth rich but subtle almost creamy, mildly sweet, sandalwooy and pleasant feathery florals. Can definitely be worn anytime anywhere because of of its soothing qualities.

This is BR540 make it less sweet, more unisex, then add some musk. It is one to check out if you find BR too sweet/feminine as it doesnt over do that burnt sugar sweetness. My favorite from the opulent line. Love it.

Got this as a present for someone and she absolutely loves it, I also like it. Smells so nice. Also not very ultra feminine, dont get me wrong, it is for women, but its not as sweet as some might think.

Excellent value for money. Purchased another bottle. Nice sweet oud fragrance and does not smell cheap. Friends like it too when i sprayed them with it before we headed out.

I have tested it in perfume store, This fragrance is very similar to "Ana Abiyedh Rouge lattafa" expecially in the dry down with clear balanced amount of Amber, but comparing with it, I think this fragrance will be my choice if I want to re-buy this fragrance, because here the Amber is more balanced with musk, also after one year from I had bought "Ana Abiyedh Rouge lattafa", this perfume performance efficiency has decreased and remaines only for two hours on the skin Synthetic fragrance here is a nonoticable, In General, I advise anyone going to buy any of Lattafa perfumes to macerate it from 2 - 3 mothes then start to use it, beacause the maceration make the pefrume ingrediants to be harmonizes together. If you didn't smell this perfume before, I advise you can blind buy if you prefer musky amber perfumes, or searching on a perfume from lattafa similar to "Ana Abiyedh Rouge lattafa". It is remarkable what a touch of patience can achieve. When I first sprayed Opulent Musk seven months ago, the experience was visceral. It felt like a physical blow to the senses, and not a pleasant one. So, I sprayed it out to introduce oxygen, tucked it away on a shelf, and revisited it six weeks later. When I finally tested it on my skin last month, the opening remained sharpish, and it left me feeling quite queasy for the first hour. But today? 😳 What a transformation. The fragrance has settled into something beautiful, warm, and satin-smooth. This specific scent profile is entirely new to my collection. Though I am not yet certain if I shall ever love it, I certainly like! The musk is a tad bit animalic, which does settle after the opening. But sometimes I just don't feel like waiting for that warmth and softness. And as I was curious for this scent profile and had to wait for this one to mature, I bought Barrakat Rouge 540, which I find much friendlier, softer and balanced from the get-go. When I close my eyes and inhale the scent from my skin after it has settled, I am transported into the world of "One Thousand and One Nights". I envision myself gliding through palace corridors on a sweltering summer evening. The air is heavy and gold, thick with the aroma of sweet amber, soft musk, and nocturnal blooms glistening under the moonlight. 🌕

I knew what I would be into , before buying this. Fell in love with Baccarat Rouge recently and collecting all the cheaper alternatives , for layering . The first spray on my wrist was so like BR. But when I started to apply properly it smelled all medicinal . Boldly and liberally I sprayed - wasn't working that day, would not have mattered even if I were to be, because I am an Obgyn :) Well, it literally disappeared for an hour or so, and then started the show. Not loudly,at all. White musk, White flowers, Cedar ...all quite subdued. Not much of Jasmine and Saffron here , as in BR - though the resemblance is significant. It was there with me after 6-8 hours , in pleasant undertones. Unlike some others from the same house, this one can be a beautiful workwear. Yes, even for those who don't work in a hospital...period. I like the perfume well, may start to love- if and when it can be taken on it's own , without comparison. Happy as of now and it's good value for my money.

I've never tested BR540, so my review is based on Opulent Musk as its own thing. I do own AA Rouge, and there is some similarity, but they're different enough that I'm fine with keeping both. There's no cotton-candy sweetness to this as there is with AA Rouge. I've actually been layering the two in order to get more life out of AA Rouge, as unfortunately the older AA gets, the poorer its longevity. This isn't a clean, fresh laundry musk. The resins and saffron give it a spicy, almost metallic nip which is solidly unisex. Polarizing? Yes. But unless you're spraying a lot, it stays fairly close to the skin. So if you like it, you don't need to be too worried about those around you if you go light. My bottle was mfg 09/25, so I'm confident this is how it's going to stay -- assuming it doesn't lose its staying power, too. Overall a like, but I do prefer it as a layering base rather than on its own.

I’ve owned pretty much all of the Arab BR540 dupes, and after getting my hands on a sample of actual BR540, they all smell 95% similar except that the Arab dupes are all painfully screechy. They’re just so sharp that it cuts the nasal passages. Opulent musk is my favorite dupe because I think the bottle is pretty, but I find that I have to be in the mood to wear it (only at bed time) because I just don’t care that much for the scent profile overall, and then it’s only one spray just to cut down on the level of screechiness. I’m finding that I don’t actually like to wear Arab dupes anymore, but I still enjoy buying them if they’re super cheap and duping something I’m interested in buying. Basically, if I like the cheap version, then I know I’ll love the real deal, so I buy that and then declutter the cheapie.

Just got this today (at this minute) with Sheikh Al Shuyukh, Ana Abiyedh Rouge, and Qaa'ed, and the first impression was molten plastic, and I didn't found nothing else, after a few minutes it became somewhat citric, and a musk that reminds me of my late teacher's (woman) perfume (don't know the name sadly, I just remember it was somewhat acrid and beast mode). Lesson here is you and everybody else needs to let sit for a few days, and then maybe it becomes that masterpiece I wanted. And yes, it's somewhat westerner more than middle-eastern, so go for it with that in mind! UPDATE: it feels like literally silk on my neck, omg, went through like 4 stages in 1 hour because of the weather, but it still is for musk lovers only, there was a minute where I smelled Kiehl's original musk in there.

Good, nice scent. It's true, it has 540 vibes, but softer and less sweet. I am really not a fan of 540, it's too synthetic, linear, dense and sweet for me. This one, on the other hand, it's more complex, its has evolution and is more wearable. I don't notice any medicinal smell at all, nor any cat piss smell. It's an easy reach musk for me. It's not related to Narciso Rodriguez musk at all. Hiden in the backgroud you can feel the oud, a creamy one. I will wear it a lot, as I don't have anything 540 related in my collection. I think it fits any weather, summer even. But also good for work in winter. The longevity on my skin it's not so good, and projection is soft too, but take in acount that I love heavy scents because nothing last on me that much. Maybe will buy a back up.

I have a sample of Baccarat Rouge 540 and Opulent Musk smells A LOT like it. I'm surprised that anyone who is familiar with both fragrances would not see the similarities because they are that obvious to me. If you have one, you don't need the other in my opinion. I only used a half spray of this baby and, trust me, that is all that I need. Any more would be overpowering. I do think that you have to like the BR 540 scent profile to enjoy this one and vice versa. Opulent Musk is densely thick, ambery sweet and with a sap like resinous quality. Definitely not an airy, white musk as the packaging and the name of the fragrance might suggest, I would only wear it on chilly days.

I ordered it blind based on the % of comparison to BR, I assumed it would have the DNA but different enough to be something more original. I find it less similar than I expected, but it is a great fragrance, and worth the price for sure, smells much more expensive than it is. It is somehow fresh, yet oriental and creamy. 100% unisex. The similarity to BR is the saffron-jasmine combo, but while BR has this disappearing nature dominated by ambroxan, with the jasmine and the saffron only popping up here and there , OM gives you a huge blast of them, extended with fresh woody touch and a creamy slightly resinous ending.

Reminds me of BR540 with a lemony citrus twist. Replace the cotton candy vibe of BR540 with a lemon sorbet instead. Very nice. I think this would be great in the transitional seasons of fall and spring. Maybe even summer. It does not feel "heavy". Today it is 19 degrees Fahrenheit where I live and this performs ok, but I believe it needs a bit more warmth. Can't wait to try this out when it warms up a bit. I believe it will really perform and blossom beautifully then.

This is a BR540 for those who actually dont fully like the original, like myself. I have a love hate relationship with MFK creation. Opulent musk has a lot of white musk and some oud to compliment the BR540 DNA. The presentation, the bottle are utterly gorgeous. Must be one of the prettiest of all time and all fragrances. This is a sweet musky scent with ambroxan. It is good I am not gonna lie. Not my usual choice but I can see myself wearing it.

I’ve been testing this for two days and I find this fragrance to be unique. It is woody, metallic, musky and spicy, opulent to me smells like a incense store. It lasts long and I do not have anything like this which was a great blind buy for me. I like this , it smells slightly sweet from the saffron. I have worn it during summer...maybe fall would bring more depth to the perfume. I do not smell any resemblance to Baccarat Rouge 540.

It was a blind buy and i didnot regret it . Ilove musk so i wasnt annoyed buy it it could be unisex fragrance .its musky abit sweat but not much and woody but more musk and def there is cardamom in there the musk smells abit madicinal in way like clean and fresh musk it stayed for almost 6 h on my skin but on skin way more like 2 days really fresh clean smell could be in fall winter morning and office kinda fresh smell

Well, Lattafa keeps surprising me. Yes almost all of them open quite chemically, but then... the pleasant journey begins, and never seems to stop! It lasts a very long time, has quite a sillage. This one is very nice to me, musky, not sweet, the white flowers, amber and cedar, a little sandalwood maybe. Much in the category of Alien. Not shocking or innovative, very wearable day or night. Love it.

Oké I discovered an odd combination with this one, but it works! Opulent Musk combined with Ghost in the Shell by Etat Libre D'Orange. It is so freaking good that my co-workers couldn’t stop smelling me. It was almost annoying 😜 Opulent Musk is a very comforting scent to me. Not beast mode, but certainly not weak. I like this perfume for layering with vanilla and soapy scents. It’s worth a try!

It takes a couple of weeks to be friends with this fragrance. You might not like it initially for a few days. However, after a couple of weeks, you will most likely(in my case) start enjoying this beautiful fragrance almost all the time. Stays...all day long Beautiful scent bubble...not too loud and neither too weak It definitely reminds me of BR540. Sweet and delicious....

Nothing like Bacarrat Rouge on my skin. It smells like whipped cream and sweet caramel candy, but not too pungent. Suitable for, I'd say all seasons, but I prefer colder weather for it. Does not start as all Lattafa with spices and musk. Mostly for women. Might resonate differently for different skins, so try it first before you buy.

When I first got this I hated it. It was skanky. But after macerating for several months in a dark cupboard it smells quite beautiful. Yes it has that BR540 DNA but its a fresher, muskier, floral take on it. It smells great on both my husband and me. I think it's truly a unisex fragrance.

The cousin of Baccarat Rouge 540, less sweet, more airy and with the addition of a rough musk. Good scent and surely better than Ana Abiyedh Rouge. However, Both are not the best dupe of BR 540. Baroque Rouge by Maison Alhambra is the best clone in this range of price.
