Oudain

This is in my top 5 all time without a doubt, Hall of Fame.... This stuff is as masculine as masculine gets. Traditionally masculine, not modern. Its very dark yet sweet and fiercely arabian and manly. For me, Oudain is far superior to kamrah qawah or althair or ambre sultan or anything else made since in the genre of arabian boozy amber woody/oriental genre. It won't be for everyone thats for sure. Its not modern, its BC masculine. This is for men as men used to be before gender bending got trendy. Oudain always evoked the desert for me, it puts me instantly on a camel in the heat. Oudain is... like how i imagine Lawrence Of Arabia could have smelt like. Refined yet rugged, highly educated, erudite, adventurous and brave, self-disciplined, tough, fearless....a man not afraid of the punishing heat of the desert and not intimidated by heading off into the unknown and facing his enemies. A white man who really didn't care what people thought of his long flowing arabian robes and cloaks. A courageous statesman and adventurer with a powerful vibe of dignity, immaculate manners, confidence and self-assurance. A man with a potent combination of Oxford University intellect and a fluent command of arabic and its tribal variations, a man with insight, perception and a pair of steel balls ready to fight to the death for what he believed in and to keep his word to his allies.....he fought like an ancient warrior tribesman in desert terrain in temperatures reaching 140 degrees while riding a camel and fighting with a sword. Thats not easy for a white european to do by the way. Thats what Beduin do. I discovered this stuff in Morocco around ten years ago maybe and i was saddened recently to discover Lattafa have discontinued it. Its for me anyway, one of the best ever mens fragrances and a sadly missed gem. I used to wear this almost daily at one point years ago and sometimes still do, it can be a real head turner. its wholeheartedly alpha male, its old school and its deeply gloriously Arab. Its suited best for the mature gentleman and the sheik and the snowflakes and hyper-offended nancy boys are going to hate it probably and so will their snowflake females who they want to impress. There's probably nothing appealing for the 21st century, ISOchemical gimmicky, bubblegum nightclubby, crossdressing transgender millenials in Oudain whatsoever. This is made back in the days when Lattafa used to invent and produce their own fragrances and creations instead of copying everyone elses. They used to make some amazing Middle Eastern scents and Oudain is one of the best they ever did. Oudain is the dictionary definition of a masculine simple, uncomplicated amber scent. Its beefy, bold and brutal for some people. It lasts about 13 hours, no joke. It hangs on clothes for a week. You can still get a bottle for not much money if you shop around online or in any arab countries' souks. As its been discontinued by Lattafa, bear in mind that anything cheap you get may be a substandard bottle, rejected due to quality control or bad storage, some may be spoiled or just weak. If you get a legit bottle its absolutely NOT weak, quite the opposite. This is a heavy potent fiery amber oud, sweetened by an ever present accord of apple/mandarin/orange and boozy vanilla, tons of cardamom, a bit of dark vivacity from the cumin and a really light touch of smoky incense of arabia at the base. Its a pinnacle for my nose and a balm for all of my corporeal bodily senses. its one of my all time favourites and i'm seriously annoyed they discontinued it. I had more than one botlle of this and i assure you it absolutely needs a while to mature and it changes over time, the initial stink of petrol and incense need a while to mellow and blend. 2 or 3 months maybe, then its a gem. Six months is about ideal, you have to be patient with Oudain. Be patient, glory awaits...wear this in the heat if you dare fellas. Not much use in the cold winters but kicks the doors down in the hot summers, its designed for scorching, searing sun Absolutely one for the mu'minoon 10/10 for me, no question

This element, while perplexing, adds to the fragrance's uniqueness. I especially love rubberiness in different settings of fragrances. Despite its potency and complex notes, it somehow retains a fresh appeal, thanks to the presence of spices and mint, culminating in what can be described as a quintessential Christmas aroma. Yet, at the same time it also embodies a dirty, animalic quality, making it a scent that chooses its wearer rather than the other way around. Its distinctiveness may lead to varied interpretations, with some perceiving it as reminiscent of a rustic barnyard due to the subtle oud note, which adds a sophisticated touch rather than overwhelming the fragrance. Lattafa Oudain is celebrated for its uniqueness, sharing thematic similarity with Lattafa Ameer al Oudh Intense Oud and Asdaaf Majd al Sultan. All of them explore the theme of burned sugar or caramel in a smoky woody syrup. Despite their similarities, each fragrance maintains a distinct identity, with Oudain being the most animalistic of the trio. For enthusiasts of this motif, exploring all three scents is highly recommended, as each offers an addicting experience. While I hold this fragrance in high esteem, potentially placing it among my top 5, I recognize that it may not be universally appealing, potentially being perceived as unwearable in social settings. However, it finds its perfect setting in solitude, perhaps in the tranquility of a forest. In reviewing all the fragrances, I strive for objectivity, yet acknowledge my personal bias towards it. It's important to note that while it may score a 10/10 for me, it could be a 0/10 for others, underscoring the polarizing nature of this captivating fragrance. It is a fragrance that demands attention, invites contemplation, and leaves an indelible mark on the soul. UNDERRATED GOOD PERFUME? I think it might be! Its name means “Two Ouds” in Arabic. As this fragrance has little or no oud, you should only use a little of the two types of oud in the name, whatever they are. Such an enlightening name immediately scares off lovers of “freshies” who usually detest smoke, strong woods and the possible stench of barns... in short, any kind of “orientality”. To my nose, this fragrance is somewhat unique, but in a good way. It bears an olfactory resemblance to 3 remarkable DNA's, namely those of “Alexandria II”, “By the Fireplace” and “Ôud Bouquet”. These 3 potentially inspiring perfumes are expensive fragrances with a well-established “market status”. But will Oudain inherit some of this acceptance? So far, it seems not! As it is not accompanied by any explicit reference to any of the potentially inspiring perfumes mentioned, it is not presented by any YouTuber as Lattafa's fantastic and cheap new clone. The WEB has so far been the Lattafa Group's main sales-generating marketing tool. Oudain also has an unexpectedly below-average silage, at least for its type of notes. As a result, it will never build its sales and fame path to the global market by imposing itself as an “olfactory bomb”. But there are many perfume enthusiasts who even prefer an ethereal demeanor in a sweet & oudy & smokey & spicy & warm fragrance, rather than dealing with an intrusive, gourmand and woody garnet. . So I can sum up the advantages of Oudain as follows: - Do you feel like buying a cheap oriental perfume of above-average quality? - Do you want this oriental fragrance to wear in your office or in countless other situations where you don't want to attract the attention of the people around you with an intrusive scent? - Do you want to please and surprise your sweetheart with a warm, soft and velvety oriental perfume? ...... Out of 8 lattafas I had owned, I ended up selling 6 because of the synthetic feeling that they would give me. With such a record, I honestly had abandoned the idea of trying new lattafas, since I concluded my nose doesn't get along with them. However,by chance I ended up giving this a try, and I must concede this is the only one that doesn't smell synthetic AT ALL. It's a well rounded and cozy mix of notes, of which vainilla and cardamom clearly dominate. Easily noticeable resemblance to ameer al oudh intense, which I had and immediately gave away because of the obnoxious vainilla caramel abuse in the composition as well as synthetic feeling. Completely different outcome:That exact same note is here, but well tamed and reduced to such a degree that is in inviting and comforting. I would never use this under severe heat though, for obvious reasons. But it is Spring in Saudi Arabia and this still performs very well so you should only avoid summer with this one I guess. Cheers

I own both this and Gucci Guilty Absolute. Gucci Guilty Absolute smells absolutely horrible to me, too leathery and animalic. this instead is fucking a - m - a - z - i - n - g, whoever says this is "smoky" or "fecal" needs to get their nose checked because this fragrance is far from that. It's sweet and dark woody a bit inky with a touch of a medicinal smell, but it's very pleasant, I agree with @Lex11180 and @JohnCarlevaro about the sweet suede accord. I find this perfume extremely alluring, everytime I wear it I receive tons of compliments, it's insane, I own many of the so-called hypebeasts like 9PM etc, this and Oud Satin are the ones who made the best impression to people, I suppose it's because they are pretty unusual smells that not everyone wears. Also, longevity and sillage are oustanding on this one. This is a 20000/10 for me. Only downside is that when I wore this and people got super close to me I occasionally was told that it smelled like cough syrup a bit.

This scent is definitely not for everyone but I absolutely adore it. It starts off smelling a bit like a spiced rum however once it settles it transforms into a thick oud, but there's a bit of a leathery aspect to it, but it doesn't overpower the scent. As it settles more, I start to smell a dark caramel, smoky and not too sweet. I tested this fragrances longevity, on my wrists it lasted 14+ hours with thorough hand washing. It was still as strong as when first applied after 8 hours. By hour 14, it was rather faint, but still detectable. Most fragrances don't last on my skin. For comparison, Oud Mood, which is often routed as long lasting is undetectable on my wrists after about 1 hour so I usually only put it on my clothes. Sillage I would say isn't too strong. A hugging scent, I would call it. I think this scent pairs very well with Oud Mood, if you would like to enhance the oud aspect to oud mood as well as longevity.

I really love Alexandria II (i have a 2ml decant) and since it is pretty expensive, i thought i would try this one first to see if it is similar... So i can say right now that both are definitly not similar, but there are some similar nuances, maybe because of the Oud. This is a really nice and creamy scent, specialy on the dry down. I really love sandalwood, tonka bean, ambergris (although i've always tried on fresher fragrances) and oud, and i believe that this fragrance delivers the best of this (although the ingredients are not as noble as an expensive creation). I paid 25€ for this and i just cannot stop using it, it really is an outstanding fragrance for the price, specialy for the oud lovers. I don't find it as animalic or skanky as people are saying bellow, i find it pretty creamy and subtle. Performance surpasses 8hrs and sillage is "medium" since this is a more "cozy" aroma.

This is lovely, warm and comforting. It's like a warm hug after a cold winters day for me. It's incense with cinnamon and vanilla. I don't see this as a specifically male fragance tbh. But then again, I also wear stuff like Qaaed, Opium for men by YSL and Khadlaj Cashmere Warm Oud. I love very heavy spicy (woody) fragances, they turn often quite sweet on my skin. The longevity is great, after 7 hours, you can still smell ithis really well. I sprayed about 3 sprays on, and that was a little too much according to my partner, it's very present/huge sillage, 1,5 or 2 sprays will definitely be enough imo. I definitely think a woman can pull this off, just like Qaaed, but you have to like heavy bold (dry) incense, and A LOT of spice. This fragance probably enters the room before you and demands a bit of attention.

9/10 A quality smelling fragrance with softness and warmth right out of the box, it's exactly what I need from a perfume. It leaves a trail that others appreciate as well; upon first wear, I received a compliment literally the first place I went outside of my house. It needs applied fairly heavy because the atomizer sucks, so expect spray count to be higher. I don't get any body odor or funk smells out of this (the oud isn't stinky stanky), but it does have the slightest whisper of smoke and a nice caramel note that's mysterious and amazing. Update: after four months of maturation, it has become one of my most worn during fall, winter, spring. Has smoothed even more, but it seems the performance and projection have trailed off a bit. Overall, love it!

Ok this stuff is AMAZING. Niche level scent - you either love it or hate it. I get: candied orange peel, amaretto, smoked vanilla and birch tar. Birch tar is one of the naturals used to create leather accords, so maybe that's why so many think this is heavy on leather? Not to my nose, there's a leathery nuance but nothing animalic in the slightest. I also kinda see how some noses say gasoline, but to me it's a super smooth interplay of candied orange peel, smoked vanilla and amaretto. Mint? Sure there's a strong medicinal mint blast in the first 5-10 seconds, but then it's gone not even worth mentioning in my opinion. Honestly: if i blind-smell this and Alexandria II in some store I'm taking this scent over the Xerjoff...

Reading comments here it seems like people here are evaluating different fragrancies. Problems with quality control, different batches? I get mostly leather, gasoline and a hint of mint. Smooth? This is not exactly smooth. Lattafy qaaed is smooth. Velvet oud is smooth. This is a very, very heavy, dense, hyper masculine fragrance. Definitely not a safe blind buy. I like it though. Will let it sit for a few months to see if anything changes. Edit: A very addicting perfume. Edit 2: After a long time this is now in my top 10 scents from my 300 bottles. I also own the OG Alexandria II and this is just a good, different, yet similar in some ways. It smells divine. Got myself a few more bottles, but very hard to get now.

I blind bought this fragarance for my friend. I knew my friend had a paco rabanne, so i wanted to get him something more manly. This was definetly more manly and suited towards more established people, preferably worn at night in colder days. Its a very smokey/incense scent, opening up with spices and noticable vanilla. The projection is very good. To keep it short, this is a very niche fragrance. Not mass appealing and not everyone is going to like this so smell before you buy. If you like it, for the money you're spending, this is a hidden gem.

UPDATE: The fragrance is actually insane. Give it time to macerate and the ingredients blend beautifully with one another. The smell is very distinct, the performance went slightly down, but scent-wise this improved by miles. This smells a lot more vanillic and woody than before, with the distinct tonka bean, as compared to its start where it was more smokey incence. It was not bad to begin with, but now its just S tier stuff especially for the money youre paying, niche for pennies!

Ok, so finally had the chance to test Xerjoff Alexandria II. While they are somewhat similar in the opening, medicinal, gasoline, industrial workshope type of scents, Oudain changes very slowly to the dry down and Alexandria goes into a woodier direction quite fast. Oudain doesnt develop that much, while Alexandria goes into a different, woodier territory. Imo Oudain is still top five from Lattafa, niche for pennies.

After two years of having this, its an undeniable staple. Performance is undefeatable, to be quite honest. Just this huge SLAP of syrup-drowned spices and herbs, specificly mint+cardamom+star anise+licorice+cinnamon by order of strength and smooth blended woods. Funny enough, now that ive known real oud oils, i dont find it a bit skanky, not even oudy at all. Will last months on fabric.

“A blend of two ouds” Is written in Arabic and English on the bottle, which is a super solid and gorgeous bottle. Oudain is a glorious fragrance in my opinion, starting off from the first spray, through the dry down many hours later. I am not normally a “layer” of fragrances, but experimented with Oudain and Givenchy Pi, and it’s fantastic. That said, Oudain is clearly a gem on its own.

Shot straight to my top five. 🚀 I let it sit for a month to steep make before I yell from the roof top, "this is awesome“ affordable goodness! So beautiful, it's similar, if you can imagine Raghba had a baby with khamrah. For me this is a love. Smooth, creamy delicious, deep, warm, everything I want in a fragrance. Highly recommended for those entering the oud realm 🥰

They took ameer al oud intense, kept in a suede purse, threw a pack of mint gum inside and closed the purse for 9 months. Definitely interesting but pretty redundant if you already own Ameer. Edit after some wears: ok nevermind this is an amazing standalone. Really good performance and pretty unique. You end up craving it, and thats what makes a fragrance win for me.

I absolutely love this fragrance but I can definitely understand the controversy with it. Not an easily wearable scent. Definitely not for the feint hearted. Crazy longevity and stays on your clothes for days. I get a touch of incense as well but I don’t see it listed on the notes. Not blind buy safe by the price won’t hurt your pocket at least. 8/10

This is THE smoothest, sexiest male fragrance I’ve ever smelled. The woods, slight sweetness and spices are perfectly blended. It is very potent so more than 2-3 maximum or it will become cloying. Imo it’s a winter scent. I would not complain if my husband smells like this every day of the winter. It is good.
