Raghba Wood Intense

I just received Raghba Wood Intense today and I'm loving it. This is my second Lattafa fragrance, the first being Velvet Oud which I also love. So far Lattafa is batting 1000 for me. So a little background on me. I really do not like sweet smelling fragrances in general. No Paco Rabanne 1 Million or Versace Eros clubbing scents in my collection and there never will be. Likewise, I'm not into heavy florals either. I tend to go for stuff with woods, booze, coffee, vetiver, incense, resins, leather, and did I mention woods? The current trend in men's fragrances is depressing for me. Give me an 80's powerhouse or Bentley Intense, or Bvlgari Man Black orient, or Ferragamo Uomo Signature rather than some metrosexual sweet candy juice loaded with ambroxan. So Raghba Wood Intense had me excited (smoky woods) and worried (caramel and sugar). I'm happy to report that the woods, incense, oak moss and musk dominate the caramel, sugar, and vanilla. What the sweet elements provide here is the illusion that you're smelling not just woods but wood that is in a fireplace or campfire. This is NOT a twist on a clubbing fragrance. I picture wearing this in front of a roaring fire after a day of skiing with a brandy or bourbon in my hand. Or maybe at a bonfire on a beach in October.....with a beer in my hand and a hoodie on. So the sweet elements here don't make me nauseous. They actually contribute to the overall effect the fragrance is going for. I don't detect the licorice as a distinct note. It may be used to pull off the "burning wood effect" also. And there ain't one dang floral note anywhere. This stuff is all man. With that said, I can see why a lot of guys who were weaned on the current crop of men's fragrances from the last decade may not like this and may feel all insecure about wearing something like this. Also, I have no delusions about this being a compliment magnet for women. I'd bet most women would not instantly "love" something like this. But.....I'd also bet that any guy with the balls to pull this off will make an impression with the ladies just because you're wearing it for you, not them. If you're gonna wear this, you better have thick skin and an attitude of "I don't really care that you don't like it, I do". For me, this is what a man's fragrance should be. Not for everyone. Not there to attract women. Ya just wear it because you damn well are gonna wear whatever ya like and you like the smell of burning wood on a cold, dark night. As for longevity and projection, I can tell that this is no citrus bomb that dies in an hour. But a real opinion will have to wait until fall or winter. I'm wearing this in 75 deg F weather at the moment. Regarding price and value Raghba Wood Intense is right up there with Bentley For Men Intense, Lattafa's own Velvet Oud, Lalique's Encre Noire trio, and Ferragamo's Uomo Signature. Which is to say price is low (under $30) and the quality / scent is off the charts. This is as good as any niche product selling for $150 and up. If I have any gripe with Raghba Wood Intense it would be the bottle / packaging. The bottle is a simple square design with vinyl stickers on 3 sides that are trying to simulate a wood look. Reminds me of 80's Detroit cars with the fake woodgrain glued on. It's the opposite of "class". Oddly though, the cap is really nicely done. Looks aside this bottle is really comfortable and easy to hold securely plus the atomizer is good. And honestly, the look of the bottle is waaaay down at the bottom of my priorities when it comes to a fragrance. No one is ever going to see the bottle. So if a cheap, simple bottle allowed Lattafa to bring this great fragrance to market at a reasonable price, I'm more than OK with vinyl stickers on a generic piece of glass. Getting a whiff off a tester is not likely in the USA. I don't know any stores here that stock Lattafa. Blind buy? Yes, if you like these heavy, dark, manly scents. This is a great one! If you're into sweet clubbing juice, blue fragrances, and generic citrus bombs, I'd say just stay away. You ain't gonna like this any better than Gucci Guilty Absolute. Don't even try. On the other hand, if you're open minded and like stuff that is different and strong, you may want to give this a try. But for God's sake don't go around apologizing to everyone for wearing it. Just tell them to go find another place to stand.

I wore it during the summer because I had grown tired of one-dimensional summer fragrances. Surprisingly, it suits the heat, though it does have a resemblance to a Christmas tree car air freshener. Still, it works well for summer evenings. This is not a fragrance for everyone. It’s polarizing, no doubt. It's for those who appreciate a scent with a strong presence and a complex profile. I own well over 100 Middle Eastern fragrances, and this one stands apart in its composition. A true niche gem, and one that is worth exploring. So, if you’re searching for something unique, something that breaks away from the ordinary, take the plunge. This is the best cold weather fragrance that can be found for under $25 USD. Without a doubt. Wood Intense is a sweet and smoky Middle Eastern fragrance that maintains little to no similarities to the original Raghba. Aside from the incredibly friendly price tag this is truly a great fragrance. Wood Intense opens with a blast of sugary caramel and Middle Eastern incense smoke. After about 30 to 45 minutes it settles down and the guiac wood base really shows itself with the caramel blending with the incense in a way that resembles bukhoor incense. I've read reviews that considered Wood Intense to be a budget friendly alternative to By The Fireplace, honestly, I don't see the similarities. By The Fireplace is considerably less sugary to my nose. There really isn't a mainstream designer fragrance that I can say has a similar DNA to Wood Intense although for anyone who knows Middle Eastern incense and attar this fragrance will feel very familiar. I have received numerous compliments wearing Wood Intense and even have had a co-worker ask if I'd decant a small bottle for them as well. I wouldn't say Wood Intense is a work friendly fragrance but it really is such a delicious and comfy fragrance it may be worth trying on a Friday during the Holidays. After a few hot May days I woke up this morning feeling the chill in the air. Knowing that today would be the last day of the year where I could possibly pull off Wood Intense I sprayed it on and let it marinate throughout the day. For about the same price as a McDonalds meal you can get an incredible fragrance for winter that is not only sweet and smoky enough for nights out but also warm and cozy enough to be perfect for nights in. - 8/10 - Winter. At first I really disliked it, it was my number 1 hated cologne because the opening was synthetic-oudy. I let it macerate for a week and it changed my views so much This became my most favourite cologne. That synthetic oud opening became a rich scent that I can't get over. It's very sexy, my mom and sister love this one so much also! I can see this being used on a date, something bold that makes an impression. It's a unique fragrance with personality behind it. I highly recommend this cologne for fall and winter, I swear the smell is so irresistible and makes me excited to see its full potential in cooler environments. I feel like this cologne is unisex but leads more towards men who want to smell masculine but sweet but I can see a woman pulling this off, especially if they layer this with some vanilla-sweet type of parfum. you don't need a lot of sprays for this either. 2 sprays fills up a room I stg it's actually insane. I wouldn't say this is for a younger audience, this is more for a young adult to older adults who are acquiring for more of a mature scent profile. I've been using it for a night room fragrance since it's summer and I'm impatient and wanna smell it but I'll %100 be buying another raghba wood intense and let it macerate for the fall/winter and keep using my current one as a room fragrance.

The price vs reward value of this is just a amazing. I absolutely love this more than any expensive fragrance I have. This was my third Lattafa but, where they absolutely got my attention. I absolutely love, love Lattafa and how they present a scent is just out of this world. It shows they care deeply about who buys their stuff. Lot of people say F the box, but I think Lattafa does something magical. Some may not be a fan of them cloning scents but I embrace it. I'm not a clone type but I have three of the scents they copy and they bring their AA game and they don't just copy a scent they duplicate it. You can't tell the difference most of the time. I mean look at the complex amalgam of notes in this scent. It can't be easy to do a scent exactly like the original house made it. Their clones are always just as good, if not better. This one is not like anything I've smelled. It's smoky, but super sweet in such a good way. You can spray this on waffles it's so sweet. The ingredients smell real, and not done in a lab. They do all they do, on top of the great presentation, and the price they ask is $20! Oh my god I highly recommend this one it's so well done and so formal and so good. I have Oud For Glory and it's just top tier stuff. Lattafa just keeps over and over delivering stuff that most dont.

Similar to the reviewer before me, I wasn’t overwhelmed with joy when I first tried Raghba Wood Intense. Even though I knew the notes and what to expect (mahagony table), I hoped it would be mahagony table + X (something else). On the first try, it was just mahagony table — with some charcoal smoke in the background and a hint of vanilla or sweetness. The scent is very unique, but for me it was "meh". Very soon I was contemplating selling or gifting this perfume to someone else. It was inexpensive, but still. Oh boy, thankfully, I didn’t: It macerated magnificently: the sweetness of vanilla became more prominent, but it didn’t replace the woodiness. No — the woodiness remained. It became a synergy. Pure enjoyment. Raghba Wood Intense has become a fragrance I genuinely enjoy — I enjoy wearing it. I enjoy smelling it... just for myself. When I’m at home or working from home, I spray it on my arms during the day (mind you, it’s summer!) and enjoy taking a sniff. It’s very pleasent. This is not a sexy perfume that will get you lots of compliments. It’s a perfume that makes a statement. But wear it in autumn, preferably in winter, when it’s cold outside and the woody notes combined with the vanilla evoke feelings of coziness, like sitting in front of a fireplace wrapped in a blanket.

Smoky Woods with Caramel - An outdoor campfire at the beach by the woods, over which you make homemade caramel or toast marshmallows - although it's a little more campfire + ambroxan than gourmand notes. This shares the DNA of the original Raghba, but the woody notes are dialed way up, whereas the vanilla is more forward in the original. This is still sweet however, and the incense notes have an additional smokiness. Both are tame as far as oudiness. Into the drydown, there is a residual ambroxan note on the skin. This has slightly above average performance for a year round wearing experience, but this has a warmth that will wear well in winter or at a chilly campfire on the beach. Contrast to Raghba Lattafa (OG): These are different, but they share the same DNA. Raghba Wood Intense, like the name says, has the woody notes dialed way up, and the smoky quality is more forward, while the vanilla is more forward in Raghba (OG). Long into the drydowns this has a residual ambroxan note on the skin, while Raghba (OG) has a faint funk of oud. Roughly equivalent performance, but slightly better for Raghba Wood Intense. Overall: affordable & beautiful smoky caramel woods scent with slightly above average performance. It's a love for me, but people hate on it: Enjoy!

This fragrance took a surprising amount of patience to appreciate. Right out of the bottle, it honestly wasn’t very enjoyable—there was a sharp, slightly “off” quality to it that made it feel unbalanced for the first few months of maceration. But given time, it has transformed completely. Now that it has settled, Raghba Wood Intense has blossomed into a smooth, warm wood-vanilla scent that feels much more refined and cohesive. The rough edges have softened, and what used to smell like a jumbled mix of notes has turned into something well-blended and comforting. On my skin, I mainly pick up cedar, vanilla, and amber as the core structure. There’s a subtle sweetness that likely comes from the sugar and a faint licorice that gives it a slightly dark, resinous edge without becoming overly gourmand. I don't know what Guaiac Wood is or smells like and never saw it before but that's a note in there too. Overall, this feels like a cold-weather fragrance through and through—warm, dense, and a bit heavy for summer wear. I’ll be putting it away until the temperatures drop again, but I’m actually looking forward to revisiting it when the air gets colder. What started as a disappointing, confusing blend has turned into something smooth, warm, and genuinely enjoyable.

ok guys, finally i have this. this is a DIVINE INTERVENTION fragrance for me, or at least thats what im gonna call this. they discontinued this gem it is sad but still can be found at good prices world wide. if you love sweet oud with smokey incense with sugary caramel goodness, you need to get this. amazing performer but never chokes you. its a gentle beast. its not as cloying as original raghba which is similar to 24 gold by scentstory. this this similar to the 24 oud edition with smokes, and candied sweetness of Kalemat. this is not a fragrance for kids, on a day if its snowing, make a cup of cocoa and enjoy 2 sprays on the arms of this gorgeous dark Lord. its a shame when niche companies make fragrances of quality lower than this and price tag is 500 dollars and people are shying away to pay 25 dollars for this gem. its a real shame. if you wanna own a royal fragrance... this is one of them, this is same class as royal oud by creed, not smell wise, but the quality is there. you pay 25 bucks and you get a fragrance that is worth 100 usd plus. check it out at local discounters. its a masterpiece, bottle is amazing heavy bottle with beautiful juice color. 10/10 *** edit: this smells close to issey miyake noir ambre, which is like 140 USD

Okay, wow. Right off the bat, this smells a lot better on actual skin than on paper. Initial thoughts before this goes up to sit; Smoky charred wood with caramelized amber sap still burning is exactly how I'd describe this right now. Also get a bit of licorice and crystalized sugar dancing around the charred wood. pejatibia's review below is very close to my own impression. Also being a girl, I was concerned with how masculine this would be. Make no mistake it leans quite a bit more in that direction...but women could pull it off imo(Lattafa even labels this Unisex). That is, if you're not afraid of niche type scents that are not your average joe(or jane) crowd pleasers. ;) I have a feeling this will get better with time. I'll be back in March of next year on this one to let you know my final thoughts. For now it's a 9/10 rating Edited to add: After 2 days of sitting it's settled down from shipping. Still masculine leaning(esp in the opening) but the smoky sweetness is neutral at the same time. The amber is getting stronger. Will be great alone or for layering. Upgraded from 'like' to 'love'. Update: I gave this to family friend. I do intend to repurchase though.

Fragrance -Raghba Wood Intense Lattafa Bottle from - 2018 This fragrance makes me feel like im waking up in a magical forest before sunrise and the smell of campfire fills my nose.It's comforting,smoky,woody and enchanted with some kind of sweet magic. This is a story about a dark yet sweet,woody and caramelized incense and I love this one."Quality/Cost Ratio" is extremely high.It has some similarities to By the Fireplace by Maison Martin Margiela. Longevity - 10/10(10+ hours) Silage/Projection - 8,5/10(heavy projection and silage for the first 2-3 hours,than sits closer to skin for the duration of the scent's evolution) Weather -best in autumn and winter. Age - 30+ Compliments(low-medium-high) - medium Scent - 10/10 Main notes according to me - incense,caramel,vanilla,oud,sandalwood. The drydown is woody,smoky and resinous and I get some cedar,incense and ambery vanilla. Emotions -magical forest before sunrise,campfire enchanted with some kind of sweet magic,dark yet comforting. Occasion(Versatility - 7/10) -perfect for semi-formal events,special occasions and nights out. Try before you buy.

I have over 50 fragrances in my collection, this one is by far the best for the money. The opening can be a bit intense and almost cloying with the deep woods and smoke. The dry down is unbelievably beautiful and it remains absolutely stunning all through its 10 hour life span. Caramel, licorice, sweet woods, vanilla, with an incense smoke backbone! A black pepper like smell developing about 30 minutes in, absolutely gorgeous scent. I believe this will be my signature scent come winter and is absolutely a niche quality fragrance. If you just got this bottle and find it to be off-putting, YOU NEED TO LET IT MACERATE FOR AT LEAST A MONTH OR TWO. Spray about 15 sprays out of the bottle and put the bottle in a dark place. Shake it up vigorously and spray a couple sprays every 3-4 days and put it back in the dark. I bought a new bottle from Amazon and a used bottle that was macerated from a second hand site, the difference between the two is absolutely crazy, this juice absolutely needs maceration! 9.5/10 Fragrance and for the money is a no-brainer

This juice makes me rethink the value system of the Western Fragrances.. How can this house put out such an unbelievable Perfume with such exceptional Quality and charge so little?....The Mass profit markets in Europe and the US are about to be Seriously put to the test in the upcoming years ahead as the middle Eastern Fragrance Market world encroaches on their territory. This Fragrance is absolutely AMAZING!!! In my top 10 without A doubt ...I cannot stop wearing it.. It is VERY strong so be careful... only 1 or 2 spray at A time..its A BEAST.. I just got back from A store and one of the female employees said out loud from 7 feet away..( Oh my god, what is that smell...Who smells that Good)>>she keep repeating it aloud..I said nothing. Forget Spending hundreds of dollars on Tauer and the Creeds & Niche of the world and Explore the Arabian Fragrances ...For Pennies on the Dollar....its an uncharted WORLD!!!! 10/10 Absolutely Amazing Fragrance I cannot wait to try more from this House

I tend to dislike sweet, gourmand, vanillic perfumes. They are EVERYWHERE. They seem to me to be as lazy attempts to get a share of a market of mostly youngsters in which most have been over exposed to vanillin, artificial sweeteners and flavors, and sugary treats as part of a diet full of processed and non-natural stuff. Something to make more palatable a grayish, drab, and cubicle-9-to-till-finished to poor young guys trying to make a living in the hellish corporate world. After-hour parties included. Sorry. I cannot forgo this mental association. Having said that, this heavily vanillic scent -which in theory I should not like at all- does not recall that. It suggests to me a cabin in the woods, a log fire, and a brandy after a créme brulée on a cold and lazy night, with my wife lovingly cuddling by my side — a kind of experience I wish to everyone. Plus, it lasts for ages and it is a projection monster: beware! This one is inexpensively beautiful. Lovely. That's it.

This is the coziest fragrance I own. It makes me think of sweaters and cuddling with movies on cold nights. I love it. It’s smooth and decadently sweet. Like crème brûlée sliding down some wood. No spice just a smokiness. Exactly like the burned sugar of the crème brûlée. As it macerates more of this leather facet starts to develop in the opening. It gives a sexy edge. Not at all like by the fireplace. Not even the same type of wood so It’s not redundant to have them both. I’m a female and have no problem wearing this, but it would also be nice on a man as long as he likes sweet fragrances. For the price everyone should try this. If you don’t like it there should be no problems finding someone to gift it to. Edit: buying backups because I keep spraying this before bedtime. It is so cozy. I’ve used a quarter of the bottle in less than a month. Good thing the price is so reasonable. < 20$ I’m pretty sure I overspray. Who cares

This thingy for its price has an absolutely great performance. The sad thing is.. it's really not for everyone. Luckily for me, i love licorice and agar (oud). Imagine you're in a forest walking past chopped down logs and you can smell the pine tree sap around you, but it's like very sweet too. That's how it smells when it dryes down. In the opening i mainly feel the masculine and very sweet licorice and i absolutely love it! It really takes me back into my childhood when i was buying those licorice stick sweets as a kid. Not mass appealing, as most of people find it too harsh or smoky. Most likely the same hate, that Maison Margiela By the Fireplace is getting.. "It smells like something burning". Very masculine, very smoky and heavy.. BUT UNIQUE.. You'll surprise people with this scent for sure. I love the scent, but I don't feel like it suits me. Cannot really find a good opportunity to wear this.

Wu-Tang clan said it best..1 of my 2 guilty pleasure beauties & i almost feel bad saying that because its sooooooo..cheap..makes you try to find qualities to discredit it because of its incredibly affordable price tag..but its good, ITS SOOOO F'NNNNNNN GOOD! Woods, flannel shirt by a cozy fireplace smoky, I get a note of incense & that sweetness component..whether it's syrup..burnt sugar or a play on toasted caramel ughhhh..idk & idc im a fan. Is it a crowd pleaser though? probably not..i haven't received many compliments wearing it & compared to the last 3 scents ive reviewed this doesn't qualify as a absolute "beast"..but it surely does its thing. I'd classify this as a scent of intrigue..its not going to captivate you initially but its tempting..luring..beguiling..the dark, rugged handsome stranger with the 5 o'clock shadow from the romance novels energy in a bottle.

I have several Lattafa/Alhambra frags, I got this yesterday and I’m bloody digging it, very bold very original - I was reluctant getting this given the caramel note cause I despise sweet fragrances, I gave Asad away right after the first wearing too cloyingly sweet, this seems like hard work put in and authentic, this is the smoothest offering from the house so far, I applied in yesterday 2 spritz on my hand and I washed in the morning it’s 3PM and I can still get whiffs off of it. Woody, smoky sweet Gentlemanly juice. 10/10 price-performance-blend. So after a few days of full wearings, I decided that for 15€ a bottlet, I have to order two backup bottles, yes, I find it that much attractive and I don’t want to be wondering what I’ll do next season if I don’t have it. The fragrances which I had repurchased are Gentle Fluidity Silver MFK (4 bottles), Encre Noire (3), TdH EDT (2), and now this (3).

Waited some solid 2 weeks to receive this and give my review on it and honestly im not disappointed at all. The opening has that synthetic arabic feel (which doesnt pose a problem at all, a simple maceration should fix this) do NOT get this expecting a friendly mass pleasing scent, this is NOT blind buy friendly at all. Also its not easy to describe how this smells like. Imagine mixing like 1kg of sugar powder, honey, caramel and some cough syrup and then throwing it all in a campfire. Thats how this smells. Scent: 9/10 Projection:8/10 Sillage:9/10 Bottle and cap:10/10 (bottle and cap are heavy and have an expensive feel) Presentation:5/10 Personal rating before this goes for a maceration: 9/10 a successful blind buy Edit : its been a little less than a month of this macerating and this is much more beautiful now. Notes are more distinct from eachother Please let it sit before throwing away

This is a fantastic fragrance however this is NOT a dupe of by the fireplace as this actually was realised prior to BTF. It’s completely different. This is an original creation which I have never smell anything similar to before. The woods and the insense are the stars of show. when the fragrance matures the licorice becomes toned down. I’ve owned this for about a year now and initially I found the licorice accord too Strong however given the time, it has calmed down and has made the fragrance incredibly wearable. Oddly though I find the licorice note stands out more if sprayed on clothes as an opposed to when sprayed on skin the woods and the incense are extremely powerful together with the sweet nuances. I don’t agree that this fragrance is unisex, I feel like this is heavily masculine given the dark woods.
