Safwaan L'autre Oud

i don't understand why people buy oud fragrances and then are surprised when it smells like oud and an arab incense house. i'm an arab girl, so oud and spicy fragrances will always have my heart. you HAVE to let this fragrance macerate for at least a month, or else you won't get any of the sweet spices and you'll get punched in the face by a smoke bomb. this fragrance is oudy, smoky, spicy, and has just the tiniest bit of sweetness to balance it all out. you either get it, or you don't

some people may found this perfume smell like an old storage, nasty scent but actually if u let it macerate for a while or perhaps wait until the dry down, it is a beautiful perfume. bolder, spicier, woodier, rougher version of MMM by the fireplace. it's not a safe blind buy especially not for anyone who doesn't like the scent of campire because it giving us more "campire, burning woood" scent then MMM BTF.

This smells like a sweet Afnan Tobacco Rush, I smell tobacco, amber sweet and anemalic leather. It's in similar vibe to Lattafa oudain and Lattafa raghba wood intense.

Lattafa's Safwaan L'autre Oud: A powdery suede-wood scent. IMO: V accessible oudh scent for oudhie-newbies. Not sweet or gourmand. Can be cloying if sprayed too much- powdery notes can be suffocating. Somehow the powder notes are not headache inducing for me, but if i have one, I wouldn't spray this. Layerable: goes well with Molinard Vanille, TF Vanille Tobbaco, YSL Babycat, AP Tomcat, Moustache by Yves Rochas, and most of not all amber centered scents. Can be used to give depth to a generic millefloral scent, Dior's Miss Dior and CK Sheer Beauty benefited from the combo. If you liked Lattafa's Ameer Al Oudh Intense, you will like this. The smoky pepper is swapped for a powdery suede and rose blend.

Nose Note #1037 Basically a Babycat clone, not much to add, pretty close in the dry down. BUT!!! What a horid 10 minutes of opening. Just disgustingly messy and ugly. You'll know what I mean immediately when you first spray it. And again - BUT! After 10 minutes this becomes basically just like Babycat, or try Fierte or Mancera Aoud Vanille or Xplicit Vanilla to understand what this is. In other words, this will probably be discontinued or already has been. This just smells like a mistake. There are much better option. Even from Lattafa itself. Ishq Al Shuyukh Gold is sort of similar, as is Lattafa Ameer. That being said - drydown IS different from Babycat, it has a certain ugly nuance too. For the opening - 3/10 For the drydown - 7/10 Overall - 5/10

Imagine walking into a spices market, but plot twist. All spices are rotting. Not many times in my life I have considered giving away or throwing out a perfume as soon as I got it. Wanted something oud, this was a blind buy, I usually don't dislike oud at all... this one smells so rancid I gagged. Almost like it has been put away in a basement for storage and was found 50 years later. Doesn't even smell like a male perfume, is just straight up a rancid smelling mess all over... don't buy this. It's a waste of your time and money regardless of the price.

Due to mostly negative comments you'd expect it to be terrible. But I'd say it was rather delightful.the opening is beautiful rose with oud then it quickly shifts to oud and intense wood smell and lasts as such. The smell is exactly how the perfume pyramid of fragrantica describes it. After 1 year of maceration the dark leathery scent deepens. Not something I like. Opening is toxic and would send everyone away. The dry down on the other hand is pleasant smell. All in all I wouldn't recommend it. Unless you like heavy oud and animalistic leather scents.

This one made me so sad. Blind bought it - it was the most pungent disgusting fragrance I had ever had the misfortune of trying. I had never had such a visceral reaction to a scent before this one. I am very fond of strong arab perfumes, this one just REEKED of something gross. Truly would not wish anyone to smell like this.

This one stinks and I quite enjoy oud. Terrible.

Hi, to my nose I only smell tobacco. So if you are looking for a perfume based almost exclusively on the tobacco note you have found it. I don't smell any vanilla, any amber, but dry tobacco. Very masculine, very mature. It looks like you have a Cuban cigar in your hand. Same smell. It's not a flaw but the one-dimensional quality of this perfume. I like it!

Got a sample. Very dirty oud and spices, not my type. Smells almost like inhaling dust

....this smells like beef jerky to me.
