Ser Hubbee

I have Ser Hubbee and YSL Cinema(an old bottle). There are some differences but to my nose they are very similar. If YSL Cinema had a darker, more arabian, more mysterious, less sweet and sparkly sister, Ser Hubbee would be it. There is something darker, heavier, more musky and perhaps cloying in Ser Hubbee which Cinema doesn't have. Might be a patchouli note in there or something a little woody or cedar like, that gives Ser Hubbee more of an edge than Cinema. Ser Hubbee imo also has more depth than Cinema and is a little less feminine leaning perhaps. Cinema is like Luna in Harry Potter, more like daytime, cheerful, lemonade and sunshine, while Ser Hubbee would be more Hermione, more serious, evening sunsets, more complex if that makes sense. I love them both. Perhaps I like the less linear and superficial smelling Ser Hubbee a tiny bit more.

This was a blind buy and I was not disappointed. Picked it up from Fragrance Net for about $25 AUD. Perfumes Dubai have it for about $29 AUD too. It reminds me a lot of Lattafa’s Fakhar Rose/Woman. I think it’s the musk, vanilla & peony notes they have in common. But it’s quite different. It has the yummy gourmand buttery almond note and the freshness of the cyclamen. It’s really beautiful. Not too strong or overpowering. My only complaint is it doesn’t seem to last as long as some of my other Lattafa’s but for the price, it’s really great value. I love it! Really happy with it, and the bottle is gorgeous!! I see others have compared it to YSL’s Cinema. They have very similar notes so maybe it’s a dupe. I haven’t tested Cinema so don’t know for sure.

A pleasant and complex perfume. It starts sharp and fresh, then quickly goes into an Guerlain Ideal Parfum sort of smell. The dry down is the best bit. Floral, almond, vanilla and orange notes which has a lovely character. On the website that I bought it, it was marked as unisex which I think is right actually. As mentioned below, there seems to be a patchouli note in there which is nice and that makes it become more masculine too. Good performance lasts 7 hours or more. It comes in outlandish but high quality packaging, the bottle is well made but not my "cup of tea". The dry down is gorgeous and lasts ages - it's in the Ideal genre of perfumes. One thing for sure is that it's got a great price point and Ser Hubbee is a love from me.

I'll preface my review by saying that I like my scents "loud". I was not very amused with the scent when it first arrived. It just seemed like a jumble of notes that didn't come together well. However I did spray it out and let it sit. Now, this has become one of my favorite fragrances. And I have hundreds. The florals are very present but not in an obnoxious way. I don't even like floral perfumes. But somehow this just works. I know most of the comments here are bashing it. But after letting it sit this is beautiful, it is absolutely beautiful. I think I might invest the $9 to buy another bottle.

Citrussy florals dusted with a noticeable almond powder. Not a gourmand almond, feels more like a body talc powder that just so happens to smell like creamy almonds. Get muskier and more vanillic as it dries down. Can be worn all year round, this is very likeable and works in all settings. Definitely lasts. I don't really see the comparison to Cinema, maybe a similar citrus opening? They're not identical to me.

This is the closest I’ve ever come to the beautiful & mysterious Midnight Poison. It’s not as smooth, but the soul is absolutely there. I need to do more wear tests, but, if you’ve been lemming for that, buy this. I got it for $11 and I’m flabbergasted. I have tested hundreds of scents. I’m not an expert, but I’m no slouch. I’m going to let it macerate and do more wear tests.

Nice bottle but I don't really like the blue silver glitter paint on it. It would have been nicer in plain blue. About the scent - to my nose it's pretty feminine. In few words floral, navel orange and a step to the cloying limit when the musk reaches its full power. Ok for spring and winter but I'm not convinced it can be OK for summer - on skin at least. It opens up with this mixed white florals, lily (Amaryllis?), white almond and navel orange and or soon goes to an Arabian musk. This orange - musk mix which stays is the one that leaves me perplexed and a step to the headache. It reminded me of an old Avon Far Away flanker ( Infinity maybe?), a little bit of the Scandal sweetness, a little bit of Armaf Le Parfait femininity. I've been thinking there's a French scent - Givenchy, Hermès or Guerlain I've previously tried which has similar notes but I can't really remember which one (Twilly? Maybe? Help me find out). If you like floral sweet and persistent scents + strong musk it's OK for blind buy. On the opposite it's a no. It lasts so much and it's even oily on skin (appreciable point ). The sillage is up to 3 meters. I've tried it again after few weeks and now there's a green note, like a Vetiver, or even like potatoes and spinach leaves or like a men's old fashioned scent. I suppose this scent is still "developing"..

Notino listed slightly different notes Top notes: lemon, jasmine, Arabian jasmine, pear Middle notes: rose, vanilla, styrax Base notes: musk, cedar, patchouli. It's not so easy for me to describe this fragrance, but it smells distinctively Middle Eastern. It feels almost familiar to me, as if my nose has picked something similar in the air of Dubai airport years ago. I wouldn't call its profile floral fresh, or at least not typical floral fresh. It's rather floral balsamic. I don't smell almond at all (almond is often scratchy to me), but besides flowers, I smell resins or incence (I guess that's styrax), wood, patchouli, musk, and vanilla. While I was writing this review, I sprayed Ser Hubbee on a blanket. The next evening, having forgotten about it and covered myself with this blanket, I thought, “It’s strange, why do I smell the base of Mugler’s Angel?” It took me a few minutes to realize that this was Ser Hubbee's base. So there's definitely patchouli there.

What they said! 👇🥰👍 This is a fantastic floral forward perfume that layers well with lactonic scents. It smells wonderful on my brother, my husband and myself. Fragrantica's description is exactly what I pick out as well. This is a new-ish release so I bet most of our bottles need time to macerate. But even fresh out of the box I'd rate it a... 7.5/10 Not unique but still way good!

Whoever says this is similar to Cinema needs to either get their nose checked or simply never owned a Cinema... These are a two, completely COMPLETELY different fragrances...It’s like comparing male Invictus from Paco Rabanne to sweet Manifesto YSL... 🤯 Ser Hubbee is sharp, very much herbal and very much masuculine. First fragrance I had to wash off.... Left it for maceration, almost a year later it’s still the same-a masculine, harsh and intense herbs ... Longevity is (in that case unfortunately) very good.

Definitely for men. To my nose there is no similarity to YSL Cinema and I would not desribe Ser Hubbee as gourmand. I'll give it to a male friend.

This is the only scrubber I have ever bought from Lattafa. The notes read friendly, but my nose was assaulted by this fragrance. It was pungent and smokey, and filled any room it was sprayed in. This was a real window-opener for me. My niece loved it and happily took it off of my hands.

This is more masculine than feminine in my opinion. Sharp in the beginning and mid, drydown is this strange vanilla. I can’t really detect the almond, the citrus and greenness of the flowers is too distracting. I have nothing else like this in my collection. I can see a woman pulling this off, but men comment how much they would wear this. An older more distinctive man.

A musky cyclamen-amaryllis, it is more masculine and not for everyone but for those who like strong and dark perfumes. If you like fresh or sweet-gourmand scents then this one is not for you, maybe it will be softer and feminine after macerating.
