I returned 24 Carat Pure Gold as it did not appeal to me, given I have better similar fragrances. Carat shares more in common with Oud Mood or Sheikh al Shuyukh Luxe Edition. The only parallel I could draw would be a blend of Qaa'ed al Shabaab's leathery oud with Asdaaf Majd al Sultan's sweetness, a narrative woven with threads of spice, smoke, and earth. Considering your reviews of both of them, I guarantee you will love it! Quite a spin-off. It's a complex hybrid blend of the spice, leather and woody style fragrance DNAs, forging sweet, spice, amber, leather, incense, wood, oud, powder and vanilla aromas into a refined and cohesive whole. This is a superb fragrance but likely also a polarizing one as well. The leather is noticeably softer and sweeter than you would normally find in a leather fragrance which makes it more appealing. However, that softness is also reinforced by strong incense, wood and oud so so do note this can still be quite polarizing to some noses. This is very much an all or nothing, take it or leave it proposition. That is the cost of being so unique, this is so different that it will not be a mass pleaser that appeals to everyone. As such, this is great for older male users who can rock leather and oud fragrances. It's probably not suitable for younger users and women. This is great for outdoor activities, social occasions and formal occasions. Performance is very strong, presentation is beautiful, this is absolutely niche quality at an absolutely fantastic price from online discounters. Highly recommended if you can rock it.

I find Lattafa quite variable regarding quality and suiting my vegetarian skin chemistry. This is one of the better ones. They have a tendency to be quite strong on the chemicals. This one is much improved. It is potent yet warm and spicy. Well blended. It swirls around you. Warm and alluring. I'd love to smell this on a fella. I'd have to move in closer. It is quite strong on the leather but to my surprise, I think the spices are winning and I like that. Leather can be quite cold and severe. Its perfectly unisex as although there is a gentle resin/cinnamon sweetness it stays quite balanced. I think its pretty fab for a cheapy. Under £20 delivered for 100ml is very good. Ok, so the bottle design is cheesy. I'm more bothered about the juice. I will keep this to wear on chilly autumn days to help transport me to a more exotic place such as a Turkish market. Leather goods with loads of colourful spices a couple of stalls further on. This room is around 11 degrees and it's quite potent so heaven knows what's it like in heat. Not a bad buy for the fella in your life. Yes, oud is listed but I don't find it intrusive. You won't be able to stop nuzzling him! 😀

Warm, woody, and leathery with a bit of smokey sweetness. If there's a rose in there, it's waving from a distance when on my skin. Overall a very cosy scent. I bought this one for my husband and although it does lean masculine, I might steal this one from him on occasion. This is my second oud fragrance and I've got to confess, I have zero idea what oud is meant to smell like on its own beyond "wood". I've read descriptors like medicinal, chocolatey, powdery, resinous, barnyard, chicken coop... Very conflicting. I've lived on a farm with large livestock most of my life and have had chickens for years, but there's no coop smell coming from this bottle, nor any barnyard, thankfully. Just aged wood. I should note that my bottle arrived early July with a manufacture date of May '21, so the shop's storage room did a fair bit of the aging waiting game for me and perhaps that's why mine is smoother. In any case, I really like this one and don't regret blind buying (where I live, I have to blind buy) but I can definitely see why testing first is recommended here if any of the listed notes are ones you normally avoid.

"Spice is my jam.' -Paul Muad'dib Atreides The moment anything is remotely different from blue/citrus/vanilla perfumes, many people from the West on Fragrantica: Omg this is amazing, but challanging, in that it will plague your dreams like Freddie and choke you while you're asleep, also I absolutely love it because wow the 'orient', ah yes the land of spices, the far mystical East or the Middle East(both same for me anyway), desert power, ooo wee but please don't wear it anywhere public because literally everyone should smell alike and scent is objective and how dare you constrict me with these offensive and unsafe exotic spices that I secretly crave and violate my personal space with the pungent Oudh, the very same Oudh(actually inferior) that I'd sell my firstborn to Tom Ford or Dior for? Shame on you. Off you go to the BDC/Sauvage gulag. Don't forget to macerate because y'know it's magic, right, ok byeeeee fam.

In my living room I keep a bowl of pinecones and cinnamon sticks that I periodically refresh with oils to scent the room. I recently recreated this scent, accidently... I used my usual cinnamon and clove oils on the pinecones, but this time I also added (artificial) vanilla. After doing that, I sprayed a few sprays of Atelier Gold Leather on my recliners. Well, the vents kicked on this morning and started blowing this scent around, and this fragrance was all I could smell! That should say very good things about this fragrance, for it to resemble that! Amazing scent, especially for the price! It's my personal alternative to Replica Jazz Club, as this is nutty like Jazz Club's roasted chestnut, but this wears better on my skin.

Orris butter, leather and something green that i cant quite comprehend, maybe fresh tobacco leaf. Quite nutty in the middle too, kinda like tahini, and vanilla. The only instantaneous backup bottle on my shelf. Insane that this exists. Edit: doesnt exactly smell like Black Iris but would absolutely be a top 5 Amouage renaissance hit. Don’t let them read this and steal our humble Sha’ari tho.

Love, love♥️. It's a strong spicy, leather tabacco fragrance. It leans more to the masculine site. The leather , tabacco is very prominent. It's slightly oriental sweet but not much. Longtivity and performance are above average. This is definitely a keeper for me. 😊

The leather in this is definitely like the leather in Irish leather , but that is where the similarities end, which is not a bad thing. This is smokey, resinous, warm, deep, ambery, leathery oud. Challenging and rewarding.

I was shocked after spraying this. I don't know what on earth people in the comments section below are smelling, but it's definitely not the Sha'ari that I received in the mail. I had to go to my spice cabinet in the kitchen to confirm. Here are the notes that my nose is being bombarded with- a thick rose + spices (cloves + cinnamon). This perfume reminds me exactly of Al Rehab's Shaikah. That perfume oil left an indelible impression on me from a few years ago when Al Rehab perfume oils were all the rage. I had never smelt anything quite like it. So when I sprayed Sha'ari, it took me right back to the summer of 2019. Here's the plot twist. Although I somewhat enjoy this chokehold of a perfume, I doubt ever wearing it out of my house. I don't want unsuspecting strangers to smell me smelling like this, even though I rather like it. Finally, this is not a safe blind buy in any way. It is long lasting, yes. It has projection like the Lattafas of old, of course. But if you're expecting orris, juniper berry and dark chocolate notes from the get-go like I had been, you're going to be terribly disappointed. I will put this back in the box and come back to it, hopeful that the difference between my nose and previous reviews is a bottle that needs to sit awhile, rather than nose perceptions. I've been waiting over a year for this to be added to the database on Fragrantica. That's how long I've had this. Was waiting to see what this is a clone of. The "reminds me of" section above doesn't list it yet, but I've heard from a few Youtubers that this is inspired by Memo Paris Irish Leather. Never smelled that one. As for Shaari, this is very unique (despite the notes being commonplace for a Lattafa offering). To me, this is a great example of a fragrance comprised of cheaper materials yet mimicking a niche fragrance well. The performance is very strong. From the bottle to the juice inside, this is like nothing you have in your collection. This does have a stronger leather note than your typical amber or oud-type fragrance, which sets it apart from the rest. Comments below mention roasted nuts or sesame, which I also get, but do not think this is a gourmand. The sweetness is in the background. It's not a mass appealing fragrance at all; it's fairly strong and may be off-putting to coworkers or lovers. Fall and winter seasons are best for this. Currently Shaari is in the $25 price range, which is a great value and a low-risk blind buy.

Just popped a September 2020 bottle that I got with major discount because of the "expiration date" and it's probably at its prime. As stated bellow, the bottle probably had a good maceration process in storage and it smells great right from the first spray. Now it will start the "maturation" and oxidation from the fresh air that came into it, but the whole juice is already pretty potent as it is. I get a lot of leather, like the one from Velvet Oud (Lattafa) and Rare Carbon (Afnan), but instead of raspberry there's a nice spicy undertone from cinnamon and saffron. As a male, I like this better.

First of all it's unique. I've never smell anything like this before. At the opening you can smell woods and saffron and at the dry down you can smell leather. Don't blind buy it even if it only costs 12€. You love it or you hate it so better test it before buying. Longevity and sillage are both above average.

A true gem. Glad I purchased it. Worth every bit of that 20$. Earthy, woody with a formidable well blended rose note. Never smelled scent before. And it lasts. It DOES last.

this fragrance is so different that nothing else even resembles it. she is amazing, i love her. it is so original, unique.

Shaari is marketed as unisex, but it is very masculine in my opinion. I get smoke and an earthy rose as an opening. The leather comes out with the dry down. Very long lasting with good sillage. A very unique scent, haven't smelled anything like it. Gave it to a male friend who loves it. Edit: I didn't get any burnt rubber nor this motor oil kind of smell that I sometimes experience with cheaper Middle Eastern fragrances. However, at first try, the earthiness came across almost like a peanut like type of smell. This disappeared after a few weeks.

A friend, who is a breath of fresh air.. You meet once again , you smile, you hug, and he/she is wearing a brown leather jacket and wearing an animalic oud perfume.

This blind buy turned out to be a pretty big surprise. I thought this would be right up my street based on the notes and reviews so I got this a month ago and let it brew because i know Lattafa and thats how it works. i got this looking for a dark ambery spice with a hint of sweet.....it turned out to be exactly that but there is an overpowering and dominating putrid raw potato peel smell that i am guessing is the Oud? It ruins the whole thing. That filthy cheap cambodian oud that smells like a chicken coop. It's an abomination. It starts freshly spicy with a touch of sugary rose, amber and saffron which makes the opening really warm and inviting. But as soon as that potato peel comes in, it ruins the entire ensemble and falls off a cliff. What a shame because it starts so wonderfully yet as it stands this is probably amongst the worst Lattafas I have ever tied, and i've tried hundreds over the years. Just a disgusting smell of chicken coop full of raw potato peelings. Zero leather or cinnamon could be detected on 3 days wearing it. That bilious oud stench just won't go and trashed the whole thing. Awful. Absolute return to sender.

Nose Note #1124 I don't know about Memo Roman Leather, but this is pretty similar to Irish Leather and it's an immediate NO for me... This slightly nutty leather with weird tea undertone kills it for me. It is different from Irish Leather, but the concept is very very similar. Leather is a bit different, more rough, less interesting. Good performance though, but I don't want to smell this again... 6/10 without prejudice 4/10 personal taste

Not blind buy safe. Make sure you’re into these types of notes/fragrances. If you are, this is a good value

This is nasty. All I get is burnt rubber, which no one else here has mentioned. I'm so tired of getting burnt rubber frags. I can't imagine how anyone thinks this is pleasant.

You really have to let this one oxidize. Spray it a few times, put it away for a couple of months, and come back to it. Wow. Back in 2023 this smelled heavy and impenetrable, like a new gymnasium floor. Now it has settled, and the orris root and woods are beautiful. I love it on its own, but want to trying layering with a floral or citrus because this is all base notes. Really, my bottle seems not to have any top notes. Absolutely ZERO cinnamon though. I think that is a mistake in the listing. Smells like a wooden chest that held spices 100 years ago, but none of those spices were cinnamon. It's not the darkest leathery oud I have ever smelled, but it's pretty dark and leathery and oud. Orris root is not listed, but it seems to be a note, to me anyway. That earthy buttery feel is there. Could be my nose tricked by other ingredients. Definitely there is incense, more like a wooden place where incense has been burned for a long time. This is a deep, almost spiritual scent. Not a safe blind buy, and not for beginners. There is a dark chocolate quality to the agarwood. Shaari is not a dumb reach to spray on your way out the door. Shaari deserves quiet time and attention; perfect for time at home reading or meditating. Beautiful scent.

@pejatibia thank you for your thoughtful reply! I'm pretty curious about it because I find 24 carat pure gold to be totally addicting. It has the perfect amount of rose and incense that make me want to keep sniffing. I just ordered shaari and I'll be back soon to update. Edit: after smelling this and doing some research, I believe the notes here are wrong. I found another set on a few sites that seems to fit better. Top Notes: Pink Pepper, Juniper, Berry, Saffron Middle / Heart Notes: Orris, Rose Base Notes: Leather, Vanilla, Oud, Sandalwood Specifically the juniper and orris for me. It also matches the 'reminds me of' picks better as those also contain juniper! Anyway it is a wonderful scent, I'm glad to have it, even though I was expecting something different. I actually find this extremely addicting as well, but here what gets me is the orris (I think). Scent performs really well also. Something interesting, the first spray of this was extremely heavy on the florals, but it evened out right away on future sprays. Pretty weird, I've never had that happen before.

Here's something fun... I just got Maison Alhambra Roman Leather, which is a Memo Italian Leather dupe, and it smells EXTREMELY similar to Sha'ari! They could be brothers. Roman Leather is just slightly lighter, with some green notes and a little more prominent leather. Also Sha'ari is a little earthier, I'd say. Normally, I would be kind of hacked off, blind buying something that ends up smelling so similar to what I already have, but the truth is I got sort of obsessed with Sha'ari and ended up using a fair amount of my bottle. So it's sort of like an unintended back up for me! What a weird thing.

Ooh this one is a nice surprise, I’m a blind buy extraordinaire and pulled the trigger on this because, well why not?! That Rose is front and centre! But not your typical jammy Lattafa rose, this is closer to the real deal straight off the flower. I guess you could call it an “Earthy” rose, if there is such a thing. I’m still on first impressions, but this has definitely piqued my interest rather instantaneously.

This one is a true hidden gem and a Big Surprise. A silky smooth rich spicy amber fragrance with a soft leather accord and a slight warming vanilla sweetness. Incredibly addictive in cooler temperatures. Performance and sillage are also great. Insane value at the ~$16 to $20 USD price. I have and had many very expensive niche fragrances, and this one is still a stand out. Backup bottle worthy!! 💯

If Dior - Fahrenheit Le Parfum and Narciso Rodriguez - For Him EDP had a baby, and said baby had a pacifier in its mouth, you know, to quieten the sweetness...then Shaari would be it! Bang for your buck, this frag is off the charts. And the bottle is kinda cool too.

Completely addictive! I have never owned a perfume with such a successful blend with these spicy, amber, sexy and animal notes. I'm won over!❤️

TAHINI. I mean, you have to want to smell like tahini but.. dry, aromatic sesame goodness.
