Sheikh Al Shuyukh

****Edit 6/24/25**** So, Ive just figured out after researching and doing many Google Searches on the notes found this scent after wondering what in the world gives this Shaeikh Al Shuyukh that "Sterile-Medicinal Hospital" smell in the begining. Its the (Natural) Rosemary Lattafa has used! That is a testament to the quality of this fragrance regardless if the fact that its a Lattafa. Only when natural Rosemary oils are used will ya get that Sterile/Medicinal vibe which makes this scent so iintresting and "Niche like." Man, I was wracking my brain trynna figure out what that opening smell was! Lol!! Excellent job on this quirky freshie Lattafa! -------------------------------------------------- I got this Fragrance close to 6 months ago, and this may not be a popular take, but og Sheikh Al Shuyukh honestly has sort of a "Niche Dna". To my nose it smells of quite natural, medicinal Vetiver as well as a very herbal/aromatic Lavender and hints of Sage and Rosemary. The immediate opening is a bit off-putting bc it does smell oddly specifically of medical grade, sterile wound packing gauze.. Wierd I know! That odd medicinal smell must be attributed to either the vetiver or the strong concentrated (herbal) Lavender note. Although this fragrance is very inexpensive, it still smells sorta "Niche" and exotic. Now, once that odd opening subsides within 5 minutes or so, you're left with a very nice, (natural smelling) Lavender/vetiver/Sage fragrance which is quite linear once it transitions from the opening, and is a perfect Spring fragrance, and is unisex leaning Masculine. IMO, Sheikh Al Shuyukh is THEE PERFECT, office scent which is very clean, aromatic and although it does sorta remind me of clean laundry, its still quite an interesting, very unique scent! I have nothing else that smells like this fragrance out of my 100+ bottle collection and I think its a hidden gem! Good projection, decent performance lasting 5 to 6 hours on skin, and ofcourse much longer on clothes. Its just a very good fragrance that understandably devisive, yet to me that's a big part of its allure. 8 outta 10 fragrance and just a great unique scent (Cheapy or not). I've been debating whether or not to buy this fragrance, for literally MONTHS. There's almost no reviews on this fragrance. I was mostly going back and fourth on account of the herb notes listed, etc. I do not typically like herb notes in fragrances. So this, actually took me by surprise. ON MY SKIN, I get very little Herby/medicinal qualities. This is fresh, earthy, and green. But the green aspect is NOT vegetal. On my skin, the woods, the lavender, and the vetiver is the star of the show. The oud is pretty mild, but it's there from start to finish. The oud is MUCH more mild compared to other middle eastern fragrances. (Like in shaghaf oud). This kinda has a barbershop feel, or a shaving cream sorta vibe. To note, this DEFINITELY LEANS more masculine, if not masculine all together. So to the ladies reading this, if you're looking for a sweet, fruity, floral fragrance, you'll need to look elsewhere. The freshness of it, makes me perfectly happy with wearing it though. :) but that's just me. I like smelling different. Especially on a hot day. It holds up nice compared to the heat/humidity. This fragrance is seriously just so fresh, earthy, and clean. It's that, right out of the Barber shop, fresh. In my opinion, the fragrance stayed relatively the same, throughout the entirety of the fragrance. I didn't notice much change from start to finish. It just got more earthy/green towards the dry down. All in all, I enjoyed this fragrance. I think it's a very safe fragrance to wear in most settings. I think this would suit season apart from winter. Projection and staying power is average in my opinion btw. I get about 5 to 6 hours max. But on clothing, it holds up for most of the day.

I 100% agree with @MaxCorvin's review just below me in that Shiekh Al Shuyukh truely does infact smell like a "Niche Fragrance." Now, I wouldn't say that the ingredients are of super high, refined quality, but what this scent does offer is this super Unique and interesting, Sterile/Medicinal facet from the RoseMary in the opening along with this fresh, "Zingy", tart, Aromatic opening along with a clean musk in the mid , but I do NOT pick up on that "Lattafa Oud" that anyone whos collected Lattafa's should be familiar with. I'm really digging Sheikh Al Shuyuk and Ive actually ordered a back-up bottle bc its getting hard to find. Now Im not getting much in the way of a Patchouli note, but I do pick up on plenty of the Vetiver note which is done in brighter/Fresher way than the Vetiver in say, Encre Noire for example which is a much deeper, more smokey/earthy Vetiver. After about 10 - 15 minutes the Sterile/Medicinal facets begin to fade and meet the fresh, "Clean Laundry musk" creating this unique, yet very pleasant fresh wearing experience. Performance is pretty good to especially ... a fresh Spring/Summer appropriate fragrance. Im getting a solid 6 to 7 hours on skin with moderate projection and I can still smell it on my shirts a day or two lateer. I really like Sheikh Al Shuyukh and feel that if more people who enjoy more Herbal, natural smelling freshies. Hreatÿ

Starts off VERY medicinal, and I know it sounds absurd, but it makes me wonder if there's a bit of genuine agar wood in this? I mean there's a reason this fragrance only comes in 30 and 50 ml bottles which sorta adds to my suspicion, (I'm probably wrong tho) 🤷♀️ Anyhow, after about 5-10 mins, that medicinal smell dissapears and gives way to an almost photo-realistic, potent andolic Lavender which stays throughout the life of this scent. Vetiver starts creeping in during the mid along with that aromatic sage dancing along the edges here with the cedar and agar wood. It's very unique and feels almost "niche" to me. It's also deceptive bc although Sheikh al Shuyukh is a very airy fragrance and is not a loud projector, nor is it a complex fragrance, I can EASILY pick it up on my clothes the next day and even till the next wash. Ive worn it for 3 days now, and no compliments, but man, this thing is speacial imo. NO alchohol blast I could detect. If you think you can get past that medicinal opening, and you LOVE lavender and/or Vetiver, give this a shot. Ya may just end up loving it like I do😉. 9 outta 10 fragrance in my book, and again (Special). Thanks to whomever took the time to read my review! 😊

If you want to get used to Toskovat's Inexcusable Evil and need a stepping stone, this is the one. The opening is very medicinal, sharp and clean. There's a lot of medicinal facets, not unlike Sole Patchouli by Vertus, but with an undercurrent of oud, cedar and vetiver. After the opening, it calms down into a beautiful Arabic-style medicinal fougere. There's oud, but it's very toned down and not like the true dehn al oud. Vetiver is beautifully done here, dark, damp, earthy and it fits into the overall green, medicinal and woody vibe of the perfume. This is not for sissy boys as it's rather edgy, but very wearable. The performances are more than reasonable considering the €15 price point. I smelled €150-200 perfumes that lasted half as long as this one, for example Nosferatu by Heretic. Lattafa can be pretty damm niche when they want to, and this one proves that point.
