No 1 Noir

On a cool damp English evening this scent comes off as a very warm vanilla and baby oil scent to me, which is lovely. It doesn't last long, so it's nice the wear to bed. I'll test it in other temperatures to see if the fruity notes come forward. It smells so much like baby oil I searched fragrantica for baby oil scents and the forum recommends Black Phoenix Alchemy Follow Me Boy, which isn't in the database, and Parfums de Couer skin musk spray, so I added that above.

Very fruity fragrance with grapefruit and salty notes forward then lots of peach and some anise. Also smells a little musky. A real deviation from typical Laura Ashley florals. The jasmine is not a major player here. It also has some vanilla.

I received my order this morning. I loved the no.1 fragrance (I have a treasured perfume oil of it) to I expected this to be a "darker" version of the original. Nope! Yes the initial blast is promising, but within minutes I can't smell it - just a faint whiff of vanilla. I'd bought this and Emma, and Emma is definitely the best of the two. Noir is "meh!". EDIT: I've doused myself in Noir and I can certainly smell it. It reminds me of Avons Mesmerize Black which I love. Noir has more vanilla I think. Its a vast improvement on yesterdays test. I note that Noir is described as having an aquatic top note. I don't get any of the top notes. My skin dosnt suit aquatic or grapefruit notes so I'm suprised at the notes listed. I'm back 3 years later, having let my bottles of Noir settle. Its a totally different scent. I love this!. I do now get the Anise note subtle but lovely. The aquatic notes are evident and give a clean feel to the scent, and no vanilla notes. Its powdery in the dry down which i love. Ive bought more bottles of this hide away.
