Mistero di Roma Donna

When I first bought this about 3-4 years ago, in the late summer, I thought this was a gorgeous scent for summer evenings. I really felt its mysterious, a bit sexy and elegant vibe. To me, then it smelled like vanilla and something nutty (almonds truly perhaps!) and sage, strangely enough, but it fitted my mental image of Italy/ Rome as the setting for the scent. However, at some point after about a year, the scent changed its character completely to my perspective. It became a nice, clean, ladylike everyday scent for those moments when you just want to feel like a very together, calm, elegant but no-fuzz woman. Now, to me it smells like sugar biscuits (not cookies, mind you!) with afternoon tea! Therefore I like to wear it on cold, rainy days, to give them a bit more comfort. It feels very warm, but not overwhelming. I think, it might be discontinued, which I find quite sad, but although I love it, I think there are some perfumes with a similar aura out there, helping me to say goodbye.

mmmm... Mistero di Roma is mysterious indeed ;-) I love this perfume! It changes from delicious fruity smell to a bit dark, warm and kind of seductive scent. I think it's a sensual fragrance without being loud about it. Very feminine. Glad i've bought it! The name, the box, the bottle are also very appealing. Stylish and italian as it should be.

i don't smell any citrus at all. To me it is Vanilla, Amber and Myrr... it is warm and sweet. A little caramel maybe? something floral to lighten it up. i really like it, but when i use it too often it makes my nose tingly...

It opens with a strong citrusy note, but immediately changes into something warm, cosy and feminine with a pinch of some stronger notes in the background. I love this! Sensuality at its best.

Discontinued in Italy!:-( i loved it so much...

As others have already said here, Mistero di Roma is truly different from the first Roma (which I can't stand). And that's a good start. Here we have a stunning oriental-vanilla fume, though mostly unknown and underrated. I can perceive the sense of eternity of that spectacular city through this scent, but in its most radiant and subtle meaning: actually I don't get the "mysterious" mood in this one (as I do with fragrances like Ange ou Demon, or Blu di Bulgari, and so on), to me it's more like a self-confident woman's scent, with no aim nor need to be original or outrageous. The opening is energizing and vivacious thanks to the mandarine-green apple's accord, followed after few minutes by the more relaxing heliotrope (whose bitterness/sweetness recalls somehow Hypnotic Poison's heart). But what's best in this fragrance is the drydown: a red-tinted, long sunset that has the scent of ancient mhyrr and sensual amber, through the shades of this magical town. If I close my eyes, I feel like I'm there..chilling in a open cafè during a June's late-afternoon, looking at the breathtaking view of the Eternal City before me...

This is my latest discovery- I got sample from online drugstore. It's been laying in my drawer for a month, today I'm finally testing it. I just put a drop on my wirst and surprisingly I am in love with it. It has nothing extraordinary, nothing revealing, just very nice mix of sharp , sour fruits and sweet florals. It is discreet and feminine, perfect for work and warm summer evenings. It will not tire anyone, I think. It has nothing strenuous in it. Have to add it to my wish list.

A great every-day-scent. Fresh. I can smell the grapefruit and mandarin in the topnote. The basenote gives me nice vanilla and warm amber and myrhh. Soft and there - all around me for many hours.EdT. En härlig varje-dag-doft. Fräsch. Jag känner grape och mandarin i toppnoten. Basnoten ger mig mjuk vanilj och varm amber/myrhh-toner. Mjuk, kvinnlig.En doft som omringar mig utan att vara skarp eller stark. Sitter i många timmar. Eau de toilette.

Be it as it may with the supposedly non-existent almond, the almond is what made me try this one in the first place. I find that Kenzo Amour is my closest frame of reference (I guess it is the vanilla, wood and heliotrope and the rice note of Amour reads a bit almondy). Hugo Boss Deep Red also lingers in there somewhere. I don't think there is a place for this is my collection, but I really like it.

Great throwback to the 90's! I was astonished to read this was released in 2010. In any case, if you liked Fire & Ice 'cool' by Revlon (I think?) or Impulse Alive, or even Dolce Vita by Dior... give this a go! It's cheap and is a lovely sweet vanilla with some oriental thrown in for stickability. Not a love; but strong like for sure!

Starts as a fresh citrusy vanilla with mild aromatic undertone smelling of grasses ( moss) and myrhh. The accord of fruit, vanilla and moss calms down to a pleasantly sweet warm amber vanilla base. It is a pleasant feminine everyday scent . Apply sparingly. Cloyingly sweet and heavy if overapplied.

Very similar to the multitude of today's gourmands. Pleasant, sweet, warm, gourmand but moderately so. I do not feel the top notes in cold weather. There's mainly vanilla, sandalwood, musk and some heliotrope plus resins to deepen it just a touch. Very likeable!

I recently fell in love with the Original "Roma", so I bought two flankers blind, one of them being Mistero di Roma. Sounds very alluring, and I hoped for a deeper, more resinous version of Roma. But no. First thing that hit me was the typical sweet candy-like note that seems to be in every celebrity perfume nowadays. No idea what it is (anyone?), but it pushes all other notes to the background, and gives me a headache. The basenotes (after 8 hours) show a faint reflection of the Original Roma, but I will stick by Roma, and this one is for a younger public, I guess....

Grapefruit, anise, a bit of amber and vanilla. No almonds for me unfortunately. Mistero di Roma is nothing exquisite or mysterious, but quite well made nonetheless. It is a perfume that will get you through your morning without feeling cheap or offensive to others. For me the citrus was a bit too much and I don't get along with anise (turns metallic on my skin),and I had to give my bottle away. Love most Laura Biagiotti's perfumes though!

This could be a unisex perfume, was too heavy and too strong for me, so passed it onto the other half. Sweet, but I prefer it on a man than me. Reminiscent of Givency Pi, Givenchy Pi Fraiche, Mont Blanc Individuel for men.

I liked how this perfume started, sweet vanilla, but after some time it develops a soapy scent. It was also a bit too subtle for my taste, I prefer when I can smell the perfume on me a little more.

I think that some Biogotti perfumes are quite nice, but this one is just too citrusy and too heavy on me.

I just had to try this while wandering among shelves! I used to love Roma years ago and always found it to be a very interesting and unusual scent until it came to be too widespread here. Mistero di Roma has nearly nothing in common. Totally different, more in tune with modern tastes, still quite original and not so copy of something else. It's a very pleasant scent, feminine, sweet, deep, but fades quickly. It has some spicyness and what I smell most in it it's a non foody vanilla. A little simple but nice. The bottle is very beautiful like the previous one or even better. I really like the advertising on magazine even if it's no good reason to buy. I will test it again.
