Roma Uomo Nero Estremo

I ordered a bottle directly from the LB website This has some of the classic Roma Uomo DNA (tangy citrus, green resins, sweetness) but it mostly focuses on a very smooth, fougere-like lavender/anise/mint/vanilla accord. This minty vanilla reminds me of something like JPG Eau fraiche, but with ostensibly a good amount of natural essential oils and fragrance compounds, at least according to the ingredients list on the box. I don't see many designer fragrance companies listing over half a dozen different individual resin terpenes and variations of citrus peel oil, but Laura Biaggioti does it, and it makes sense because this stuff smells damn good and high quality. For this reason, the aforementioned JPG-like sweetness turns out more like a Caron Pour Homme or high quality Skin Bracer. I need some more time with this but so far it is a definite thumbs up.

My bottle is about five years old now and it is one of my favorite scents. When I use it, I feel like transported to an warm evening in Italy. If it just had better performance, Roma Oumo could be my signature summer scent. To me. it rapidly becomes a skin scent and it lasts for four to five more hours. But I just adore the creamy orange smell of Roma Oumo and that is more or less what you get from start to finish. It is perfectly blended and the only thing I want to see changed would be better performance and longivety. Other than that, I find the smell of clementine orange over the base of cearmy sandalwood truly hypnotic. Now I just long for the coming warm summer evenings when I think Roma Oumo truly shines. I give this fragrance a 9/10 rating (and I haven't found any 10/10 yet).

This is a very, very good designer release. It starts herbal with a lots of sage, some lavender, then heart gets a bit more citrusy and creamy ( gives me some Allure or Allure Homme Sport vibes ), the drydown has some fougère elements attached to a sweeter more modern profile, with some vanilla and tonka, giving a bit of a soft powdery coumarin or anise impression. You can tell it is a Annick Menardo creation as it is simple, but with some small little complex details here and there that make it always intriguing to wear. On top of that, it is super versatile, day and night, has enough legs and sweetness for the cold, while remaining airy enough to be worn in warmer days.

This fragrance profile, with absolutely good quality and at this price point makes me think a lot about how marketing can be effective and how the perceived value can be far from a reasonable price regarding the so called "niche" fragrances. That being said, I love it, easily a signature fragrance with his own personality. This Belanis gives a real star anise vibe and blands perfectly with the original composition.

The Biagiotti website wants 80 Euros just to ship one bottle to the US. Um, no thanks. No one else appears to be shipping this to the US.

At first, it didn't impress me much because of a somewhat rubbery smell at the beginning, which I didn't like, but now I really like it, even the opening, which was what I didn't like the first few times I tried it. It's different from everything else and more sophisticated than the original. I simply love it.

Il est très bien j’adore cette version, par contre il ne tiens pas très longtemps vu le prix je m’attendais à mieux. Il me rappelle beaucoup Roma mais plus actuel et moderne.

On the test strip, the sum of the parts creates star anise, but on the skin, something else happens... soft... creamy... silky... oh my. I'm not familiar with Belanis. Now the sage and bay leaf become somewhat individually discernible again, and the aniseed note, which still lingers, weakens. Reminds me of 1725 Casanova, Histoires de Parfums, which is better. I experience the Belanis molecule primarily as anise and faintly as a white flower. It's a shame it dominates the rest. I'm very curious whether this will be more beneficial in colder temperatures. Otherwise, I personally fear a bad purchase. I bought the large version because I thought it couldn't go wrong with Annick Menardo, but this would be my first from her. I love licorice, but this has too much anise for me. I'm afraid that for me the Belanis nut ruins it and that it produces just as horrible a mouthfeel as Akigalawood. Again i give it a final go with low temperatures. The atomizer is fantastic. The smell unfortunately not. The first "official" release, created in collaboration with A.I., unfortunately doesn't bode well for me. Now I can only hope it's just a marketing ploy. Either way, the new ingredient, Belanis, isn't love, and I don't believe there's anything else in the bottle, or it doesn't stand a chance. - Op de teststrook ontstaat door de som van de delen steranijs, maar op de huid gebeurt er iets anders... zacht...romig...zijdeachtig... oei. Belanis is mij niet bekend. Nu worden de Salie en het Laurierblad weer enigszins individueel waarneembaar en verzwakt het anijs achtige, wat wel blijft hinten. Doet me denken aan 1725 Casanova, Histoires de Parfums, welke beter is. Het Belanis molecuul ervaar ik bovenal als anijs en heel in de verte als witte bloem, jammer het domineert de rest, maakt me heel benieuwd of dit gunstiger uitpakt met koude temperaturen, anders vrees ik persoonlijk een miskoop, kocht de grote uitvoering want dacht kan niet missen met Annick Menardo maar zou dan toch mijn eerste van haar zijn. Ik ben dol op drop, maar hier is anijs voor mij too much. Ik vrees dat voor mij de Belanis noot het verprutst en dat het net zo'n vreselijke mondsensatie teweeg brengt als dat Akigalawood. Ik geef het een herkansing met lage temperaturen. De verstuiver is fantastisch. De geur helaas niet. De eerste 'officiële' release tot stand gekomen in samenwerking met A.I. beloofd voor mij helaas niet veel goeds. Nu kan ik mijn hoop nog vestigen dat het slechts een marketing praatje is. Hoe dan ook het nieuwe bestanddeel Belanis is geen liefde en ik geloof ook niet dat er iets anders in de fles zit, of het maakt geen schijn van kans. -

There are a lot of white florals in the opening -- after they settle a bit and the vanilla comes out more, the scent becomes very beautiful. Annick is famous for using anise in her compositions -- in this fragrance, this accord is hiding in plain sight under the note of 'belanis'. It's slightly play dough-y in the opening but it settles after thirty minutes or so -- this part of the fragrance is not exactly pleasant but the drydown makes it worth the wait. This is a mature, floral and vanillic scent for someone refined and clean cut.

I tried this today at the Ciampino Airport in Rome. It is really admirable when a brand tries to make something different and creative, instead of going in the mainstream ambery-blueish direction. This one is very interesting. I am surprised the star anise is not mentioned in the notes list, because its very prominent. This could be a perfect signature all season fragrance, but because it is so distinctive you have to try it before you buy it.

Smelled it day ago in the rome airport (Fiu) , for the beginning i never heard of this so i was shock that Laura B. launch something new , but after few sprays on the strip and smelling the cap for some dry down , this have a big chance to be a banger of a fragrance and I'm already searching to buy it and you should to and if not at least give it a smell because first impression is really positive.

It has something delicately feminine powdery in it which is why I think this can be considered a modern unisex fragrance. It's much less masculine then the original (some say the original is unisex also). It's subtle, not loud, sweet fragrance. I was expecting something with more power and a bit darker licorice amell but this isn't really that.

AI and annick menardo created, designed to be as alluring as possible.....and it HAS OAKMOSS! Anybody actually smelled this though, seriously. Please make my day.

@Zoega, this was released last year, how is your bottle 5 years old? I think you are taking about the original,not this one.
