as beautiful as amber can be ..as opulent as amber can get.. as wearable as amber can be..as mesmerising as the millions of decades amber has been in existence..as sensual as amber can get.. as dry and hard and strong as amber has always been.. yet as smooth velvety and true to its essence as amber is.. a true amber.. without the utter harshness of amber.. ..a beautiful done right amber.. not too strong.. and not to weak ..almost the perfect amber connotation.. for amber passionate lovers.. a mesmerising.. ambery.. benzoiny.. escense.. maybe with some hidden tonka beans.. some musk ..some vanilla.. or labdenum .. incense.. defenetly resins..defenetly magic.. defenetly mystery ..and strength in a soft spoken way.. it has a vintage vibe ..a deep.. sensual.. exotic ..hippy vibe.. just as deep as patchulie can be ..but in an ambery way.. i personally like it more than the new lumier d ambre..its more true ..more real to its roots..its a singh of freedom and equality.. its a warm.. enveloping ..cozy.. snugly scent.. that takes u back in time ..it can take you anywhere u want to be ..its a very powerful perfume.. full of emotions.. full of lust.. full of love ..full of bliss.. mystery.. and life ..with all its dimensions.. its a full bodied perfume ..its a skin scent.. its the type that will smell different on each individual.. depending on their individual chemistry making it a love or loath perfume ..but if u know how to tame it.. how to wear it.. how to concur it.. and let it do its magic on you.. if u r one of the lucky ones who can pull it off.. u r in another realm of being .. it keeps developing ..and growing.. and mesmerising.. ..heating up your entire being.. giving whiffs of love and lust.. whiffs of hope.. and whiffs of even fear..of the unknown..because like the future we are not sure where it will take us.. we just have to believe.. and have faith ..and surrender to its strength and grace ..it can take u back or throw u a million years in a celestial sphere to the future..depending on where u r ..its a dream in a bottle..a time machine.. dont be afraid to embrace it with al your being it will give you back more than what you ever expect..

Finally I have a bottle of this beauty, and I never want to be without it. This is my perfect sexy, cozy, comforting, maternal, very classy and completely inoffensive amber perfume. It’s not too strong or headache-inducing in any way, but it does last a while, thankfully. It’s not smoky and not overly sweet; I don’t “sense” the vanilla, and I think it must be in here just to soften the amber notes. I know some people don’t love the idea of assigning gender to fragrances but Ambre Passion, to me, is meant to adorn a woman and bring comfort and pleasure to those around her. I love it so much. Sometimes I layer it over the Kuumba Made Amber paste since they’re almost identical scents (I bought my paste at Whole Foods for cheap-so if you like that, then you will love this). I don’t notice the tonka on me. It’s powdery, but not in a vintage or lipstick way, but in a delicate, resinous way. Amber is my preferred fragrance category, but I usually consider them squarely unisex or leaning masculine- who knew labdanum could be rendered so tender and lady-like? I’m completely enamored. If I could only keep one fragrance for life this would be the one. How could such a stunning fragrance be discontinued? It’s a travesty, a total injustice.

Ambre Passion smells so good. It reminds me of cuddle, hugs, a soft warm scarf, caresses. I came across this fragrance casually. I was looking for something different from the fragrances I usually wear ( I prefer floral scents) and that would get me into the spirit of autumn.. The Laura Mercier brand is known especially for make up. And L.M. is very famous, especially in the USA, as a make-up artis. The powder of her brand, so light and impalpable, is a best seller. In this line there are also fragrances, and I didn’t know. I tried some scents of L.M. brand on a trip to Munich and I was blown away. Among all Ambre Passion is the one that struck me the most ... a wonderful, sweet, fascinating amber ... able to envelop the soul and smell with that golden and oriental aura that takes you away towards memories linked to distant perfumes worn by people lost in time. Back when perfume was a luxury and not a habit and for this reason it had to be chosen and stored with care. Ambre Passion is a tenacious fragrance with good sillage and good duration and at the same time is soft like a velvet. It is sweet but not gourmand. For the autumn evenings it is definitely gorgeous. Highly recommended for sweet amber lovers

When I first sprayed this, I was alarmed that I could smell nothing at all. There was a sort of presence there, but I couldn't actually detect it. I'm not sure what actually was going on as now, when it is sprayed, I can smell nothing else and it is glorious indeed. I'm actually quite shocked at this one as it has an unexpected salty aspect to it that sort of fizzes along in the background from beginning to end. I am guessing this is ambergris. I don't have words to describe how much I now love this fragrance, it is the ultimate comfort scent, wrapping your up in a plush amber blanket. I detect the vanilla, but wouldn't say it smells of vanilla. It is expertly blended such that I can pick out none of the notes. What I can say is that it is warm and cozy, that it is excellent for layering, and that I have a strong urge to purchase three more bottles before they can no longer be found. (Incidentally, it can be found at Saks and Belks which I hesitate to say lest they all get bought up, but there it is.)

I absolutely ADORE Ambre Passion!!! It's sooo delicious! So thick!!! So rich!!! Such a gorgeous amber. It's so thick and toffee-like, DELICIOUS!!!; so warm and cozy and comforting. So full and rounded; slightly spicy and herby even. It's, oh I can't really describe how gorgeous it is!!! It's SO beautifully blended that it's impossible to pick out any particular notes. It's just DIVINE!!! It's my major comfort scent! It's like my best friend, who WRAPS me up in their loving embrace, and stays with me forever! It does almost last forever too! a GOOD 24hours, let me tell you!!! It's fabulous! And my husband, and everyone else loves it too. I will build up my supply of it! I couldn't bear to be without it ever!!! SO WONDERFUL!!!

Very pleasantly surprised by this. One of my blind buys based on reviews here, and it is so lovely. Very deep and lovely and rich. Like one of the other reviewers here, I had the strange experience of not being able to smell it properly on first spritz. Luckily I gave it another go and I was surprised to have missed such loveliness. This is one of my most memorable perfumes, and I find myself craving it when I wonder which perfume to wear today... sweet, warm and comforting. I bought Laura Mercier's vanille eau gourmand recently and was disappointed that it didn't have the gorgeous depth or richness of ambre passion. Though that is still a nice scent, they are just not on the same level.

I haven't worn this in a long time and was about to declutter it but before I declutter things I have worn in some time, I always give them one last wear to make sure. Especially this one because I'm not sure how easy it'd be to conjure up another bottle. So I wore this to bed. This goes nowhere but right here in my collection. This is so vanilla heavy. I believe that I used to think this smelled almost identical to Ambre 114 and L'Artisan Ambre Extreme but it does not. It smells better than both of them. I wish the projection was better but the longevity is good. So this stays. I'll be wearing this again in about a month and a half when it cools down here in Philly. Can't wait!

I'm kinda late to the game on this one. I sniffed it the other day in the Asheville, NC Belk. It's very nice; warm, smoky, rich and deep. As I was smelling it, I thought I had smelled it somewhere else. I kept telling my hubby "This smells so familiar!" Then it hit me; it smells very similar to Annick Goutal's Ambre Fetiche. Looking up the notes to both, I can see why they smell so similar; the note listing is almost identical. Either way, it smells great! I already own Annick Goutal's Ambre Fetiche, so I won't be getting this one anytime soon. Great cool weather scent for those that are big amber fans. Very cozy and warm, yet sexy!

Very nice quality tonka BOMB. Good strong sillage at first, very strong tonka (which is kind of like boozy vanilla caramel without too much sweetness if you don't know tonka) with a gentle geranium side note, which really works to headline the amber and tonka. It seems like it shouldn't work but it does. Don't be afraid to overspray a bit at first, it really helps sillage and longevity with this one. Hmm, yesterday I mostly got boozy tonka, today I get almost floral vanilla tonka. Very lovely. Much better sillage than most ambers which can be a bit quiet, and not sugary sweet either.

Such a pleasant sophisticated amber scent! Not pushy and not too spicy either if you are an amber fan this is a must have. upon first spray it smells like a posh car aroma diffuser and the drydown is kind of fizzy sweet a little masculin which I adore! I usually spray some on my neck where my hairline begins so i can smell it when i move my head. It has Moderate projection and sits very close to the skin. One downside is the staying power which could be a little longer.

Wearing it today for a second time after I bought it sometimes in the beginning of the year. I know, this is what having around 100 perfumes does to you :) Anyway... It’s freaking gorgeous! So deep, and warm, and sensuous! So yummy! Consumes me, where I just want to dive deeper... I couldn’t feel that in February, but now, September, when it’s still hot... I think I’m backwards, because usually scents like this are better in cold...

Wearing this today and it dawned on me that Gaultier 2 and Ambre Passion would prob be great to layer so that's just what I did and wow! They truly compliment each other!! Not that one would need to layer as each on it's own is beautiful. They do smell wonderful together though! EDIT: This Smells very similar to Fragonard Grain du Soleil. I like Ambre Passion a lil better, more sillage, more longevity. Scentwise, very similar.

I've already left a review and my opinion remains the same. I just wanted to say that it's ridiculous that this was discontinued and they haven't brought it back yet. Ambre Passion is the holy grail of feminine ambers. It's better than everything it is compared to, even Grand Soir (although that is a close second place). Bring it back! I keep opening my bottle to smell the last dregs, and fall in love all over again.

This a gorgeous sweetish amber and a dead ringer for SL Ambre Sultan which I already have so I might do a swap with this. Its a lovely dry amber on the dry dowm. Moderate sillage and good longevity

An epitome of an amber scent. This is what comes to my mind when I think "amber scent". Classic vibe. I was put off initially, but it grew on me with time. Potent. Good for colder weather.

Buttery is the word I'd use to describe this. Along the lines of Mugler Essence Absolue. This is gorgeous.

Dry down is VERRRYYY powdery (baby powder). I really like this.

Blind buy based on reviews below. Just received my bottle. Not sure. My sense of smell is still slightly distorted but almost oftentimes acutely strong but then strangely at times it would seem asnomic. I don’t know if this is long covid related but outside air smells pungent and hurts my nose. Anyway back into this. I don’t feel I’ve got a real enduring sense of what this fragrance is as of yet. I sensed the original opium when I first sprayed it. Spicy, talcy with a masculine feel. This opposes with what Rosalina said below but it feels that way at the moment to me, I hope it changes and envelopes me in that something special that I’m waiting for. Edit: deeply intoxicating. Inhaling deeply from the bottle and wow it is getting me to another level. This is like the epitome of an amber. A high class breathtaking amber. Very resinous and balsamic. Almost boozy but old school powdery too. Very powdery like what I could picture a lady wearing in the 30s. Bit of a powder bomb.

On me this turns out the complete opposite of how it ends up on the previous reviewer. It starts quite spicy and ends up very sweet. Definitely one to try on your skin and allow to develop before making up your mind. I think this is the most feminine amber perfume I have tried so far. It smells expensive, so on that basis it probably doesn't scream "young" but the sweetness definitely marks it out as one of the newer perfumes on the market in my opinion. There is nothing "old school" about this perfume and probably not one for those who like very spicy quite masculine scents. Unusual and definitely worth a try if you like amber and vanilla.

This is a really nice ber fragrance. It's warm, dry and faintly spicy. A little powdery, a little vanillic. To me this smells like faint dry cloves or something. The reviews are true, this is nothing more than a skin Scent unfortunately and don't know if this would layer well with anything. I wear this to be when I take naps during the day and an hour later when I wake up I get a nice warm radiating scent. Almost a cold weather scent but performs better with some body heat. I like this but won't repurchase again. A good alternative would be elizabeth and james nirvana amethyst.

Being a guy normally i will give a skip to Laura Mercier's counters with my belief that they only carry ladies perfumes and one day got a chance to speak to a lovely promoter who introduced me to their line. Wow they do have good unisex frags. Tried Amber Passion ..very nice frag. Deep rich amber,woodsy, vanilla.. well done blend of notes..good longevity good sillage

What was that lovely scent....I was near the Laura Mercier counter when the warm, interesting aroma caught my sences. I tried the tester and went home. I just had to have it. A friend was going shopping and got it for me as I could not wait. I agree with allexa..very deep and warm amber, it lasts...a perfume for cold days to make you feel cosy.

This is back available to buy in Space NK in the Uk. I got the last bottle where I live. I love it, it's so rich and thick and sweet. It's the olfactory equivalent of sticky toffee pudding and Irish coffee. Completely the wrong time of year to wear it of course but I had to buy it while I could. As soon as Autumn comes I'll be cracking it open.

Just bought it from Belks...Love the scent, but its gone within an hour. I can barely smell it after I apply it. Have no idea why I can't get the sillage and longevity that everyone else seems to be getting! :(

This is the only perfume that makes my husband comment on how good I smell every time I wear it lol. This and Grand Soir are my favorite amber scents!

Yes, this perfume smells lovely but it’s lasting power on my skin is atrocious, 2 hours if I’m lucky! 😩 Unfortunately I find this to be a common thread with Laura Mercier perfumes in general. Will be selling mine.

I really wanted to love this one, but there's something to this amber that doesn't work for me, and it's a quality very like that of George Sand by Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier. This amber is made more heavy and languid by the very present accords of Tonka and vanilla, but tend to prefer more dry amber scents. The inescapable sweetness overwhelmed me a bit. I would enjoy smelling this on a coworker or friend, just not so present with me all day. I understand it's hard to find, but even so, I'd recommend obtaining a decant or sample of this before you commit to a full bottle. Quality of the scent seems good, and the longevity and sillage are intense. Pretty, just not for me.

I’ve been sleepin on this little gem in my collection. When I first tried this at the beginning of collecting fragrances I was totally turned off. It was just wayyy too much for me and somehow I got a “mothball” aroma. Now that I’ve trained my nose a bit more and am craving gourmands I came back to it today. YUMM! Sticky sweet resinous vanilla toffee opening. Something green/fresh I’m guessing the patch/geranium keeps it from being too ooozy sweet. The “moth ball” thing is still kinda there but it just lends a vintage and sophisticated vibe to the composition. It’s really delicious. I see wearing this at a formal event in a fancy dress.

Hmmm. This is similar to Serge Leutens Ambre Sultan without the herbs. I wish this had less sandalwood. Suitable for men or women with good sillage and longevity. If you are an amber fan, this is a good choice. Not sweet, not a gourmand scent. This perfume reminds me of Autumn.

This is a sexy, spicy thing! I've been one spray wondering it with good results. Stays close to the skin like a your skin but spicy moment. Definitely has a classic sort of feel but because it's staying so close, it doesn't scream church to me.

Smells great but also holds the distinction of being the only perfume that makes me SNEEZE. Only on first spray and just once and then I am fine but still strange. Anyone know what I am reacting to?

Sweet..then turns spicy on me..which I didn't like. A friend of mine told me it's "too old" for me.
