Eau Gourmande Violette

Pretty scent! When I first tried, I thought this would be just another modest comfortable fragrance. But I was pleasantly surprised when I really wore this perfume. It is really nice in the evolution. Starts with a little inky like violet, then becomes nice flowery and I could smell the whole day sweet berries mixed with flowers. Sweet but not teeny-like, rather an adult gourmand.

On amazon for 20 bucks, this cant be beat. It is pretty linear for me, a sweet violet with vanilla. My fiance really likes it, and I do too. I have no qualms with it besides maybe that it doesn't last very long, but for 20 bucks, a couple of hours of a nice fragrance comparable to more expensive scents. Wish they still made it, great violet interpretation.

Hmm...nothing gourmand about this one...It is clean, cool, fresh, even slightly sour and with masculine touch to it (thanks to vetiver I guess). Black currant and violet leafs stand out in this combination. It isn't sweet at all, and I can easily imagine a man wearing it, so it definitely might be unisex. It lacks longevity though, but since I got it so cheap, no regrets - it's quite wearable spring-summer day scent.

Very pretty, light scent - like a garden of violets after a rain shower with added hint of vanilla...but it doesn't seem to last very long on me at all! Only my second day using this one so will wait a week or so before I consider moving on from this one - I like a bit of longevity to my frags! Super pretty scent, though - and the hubby likes it and he doesn't comment often :)

I don't feel too much violets there, this is more about mimosa and berries, a little strange composition, but nevertheless wearable.

DISCONTINNUED FRAGRANCE REVIEW #4 / 10. Greetings and salutations, Perfumites. Laura Mercier tricked me. She promised gourmand! She promised violets! What I get here, Perfumites, is watered-down, sugary watermelon. Correction: I get *some* violets. And what I do get of that is pleasant. Only in the top notes, so - hence - briefly. I get slight blackcurrant, but it's so mild, it's an insult to blackcurrants everywhere. Now mimosa and peony are some of my favourite floral notes. You get the (again, watery) light, pretty peony note. I don't get much mimosa. Mimosa (or wattle) is quite sweet, heady, and pungent. For a pungent plant, there's very little here. It is a incredibly light scent. After 30 seconds it becomes a skin scent. Longevity is not so great in skin, but actually decent on clothes! I admit this is very pretty on clothes, but it still doesn't project! In the warm crook of my elbow, it turns to a rancid plastic. All in all - a pretty saddening disappointment. I was ready to love this. The packaging is so chic. Laura Mercier make-up is the epitome of pretty and classy. Violets are always excellent (*always* excellent, people), and I was intrigued with the "eau gourmande" label. I got sucked it, and it wasn't worth my own hyped-up excitement. It's not a horrible, unpalatable scent by any stretch of the imagination, but - as a whole - it also lacks imagination. If you like small, sweet violets flowers on your watermelon slice - jump right in. *** Kitty rating: 4.5/10.

just looking at the notes you would think i would like this perfume. i do not. the violet is very soapy, and i can't even smell the raspberry, black currant or the vetiver. very disappointing, i was really looking forward to this one.

Gourmande? Maybe not exactly, but sweet violets come at you, large. The peony and berries join the violets and engulf me waft of powdery sweet. Not sure I'd wear it much but it's soothing and smile inducing, just don't over spray!

Just I can say Laura Mercier eau Gourmande violette is delicious! It is a very true violette fresh and refined. It is elegant and I had receive a lot of compliment! Definitely I love this perfums!

Boy!--- I am odd man out! I love this perfume. It is a true violet, fresh and pure. Receive many compliments when wearing this T.J. Max find.

I have 50ml full bottle for trade for 100ml jessica simpson fancy or aquolina gold sugar.

Rain-soaked violets - pretty, fresh and unassuming. A simple scent nicely done.
