Vanille Orientale

I wore this many years ago...back in the day when Sephora carried it. I LOVED it. Warm and boozy, lots of sillage. What I remembered most about it was that I got compliments all the time, but it was always what the complimenters favorite dessert was..."Ooo, you smell like donuts...or pudding...or Twinkies...or cupcakes." It was fun. Obviously a gourmand and very vanilla heavy. Just found Kayali Vanilla 28 and it has that same yummy warmth and probably a little more sophisticated.

Nice perfume, want not very long lasting. Needs some extra spraying during the day

Gourmand, sweet. Not too original or exciting. Drydown does smell of caramel.

Straight out of the bottle this is a generic play-doh type vanilla. Very similar to something like the Body Shop Vanilla. It does get a bit better and sweeter as it warms up on skin. However, this is one of the shorter lasting from the line on my skin which was disappointing. By 4 hours it's all gone. It's not a deep vanilla and doesn't have enough spice or interest imho to warrent the "orientale" in the name. I'd recommend Tendre Madeleine from the same brand over this one. If you're looking for a beautiful unisex oriental vanilla (in a similar genre and price point) I'd recommend Black Flower Mexican Vanilla Dame Perfumery over both of these Les Senteurs Gourmandes.

I have only just discovered Laurence Dumont fragrances as they are sold in my local store here in Italy, the perfumes I tried in this line I had to buy cause they are simply beautiful. Today I got Vanille Orientale and I think it's gorgeous. Top notch vanilla and realistic caramel, when you first spray it you could think of being in heaven as all the notes appear together with the most beautiful sillage after about half hour it mellows down a little but the vanilla and toffee stay untouched. It is a very sweet fragrance but not cloying it stays creamy and smooth all the way. Very good quality stuff sold at a ridicolous price oh and longevity is pretty good too as it is going rather strong after four hours on me. If you love sweet and gourmand perfumes try all the range of Les Senteurs Gourmands you won't be disappointed
