Sensual Orchid

I read a few comments saying that this smells like shampoo or that it is just cheap. Please spray on any other perfume with a similar composition and compare them, you'll see how well-blended this actually is. It also absolutely does not smell like a gourmand — it does have an overall sweetness to it, but it is very creamy and sophisticated, and it doesn't resemble any type of sweets at all. It seems that people will smell any vanilla scent and immediately assume that it's either a gourmand or just plain, which is absolutely not the case with Sensual Orchid. What makes this perfume different is that although the composition seems like it will smell like a traditional feminine scent, the way the notes blend and work together is what makes it unique. I'm not the best at writing, so I would suggest reading "Kafkaesque"'s review of this frag on her blog, she's one of the few people who actually take the time to write a proper review. That being said, it is a very inoffensive, wearable, and sophisticated perfume, but it's not old-fashioned in any way. The almond in the opening gives it a somewhat boozy note for a few minutes, but it quickly fades away, giving light to the gorgeous blend of orchids and ylang-ylang, which to me, are the most prominent flowers in the composition. The flowers are not cloying in any way, it's more of a soft and creamy blend of florals that creates a seductive, but intimate scent. The scent is linear but never boring, and my only negative is that it unfortunately doesn't last long on me. I would also love it if the boozy note in the beginning was more prominent, but even without it, Sensual Orchid is an absolute gem.

Wow! This is truly SENSUAL, it's not just a name .it's really bold and delicious and unapologetic. This is love at first sniff! The opening is a hugely creamy smell to my nose, so much so that it makes me hungry for cream filled pastry! It's edible creamy almond and orchid mixed with some orange zest and vanilla and benzoin.Sometimes the creaminess shifts towards a white chocolate vibe but it tilts back quickly. For a floral fragrance, this is strangely gourmand! The dry down is full of jasmine and Ylang and woods, and it's not my favorite part because it's not very unique. The sillage is moderate, and after 3 hours it gets very close to the skin. The longevity kind of sucks and it's the greatest problem with this fragrance. It's somewhat a warm smell, but I find it appropriate for almost any weather and the in particular fall and spring. It's very good for a signature scent as long as you can afford it. I think the price tag is an important fault with "Sensual Orchid" especially since it's longevity is weak. Could it smell more niche? yes of course; but then it wouldn't be as pleasing as it is to most noses and it also wouldn't be so versatile.

This is by far my favourite perfume of all time. I'm a huge fan of sweet, floral, gourmand (and all that) perfumes and this is just perfect in every sense. It's sweet and teasing but in a very sophisticated way and that's why I like it. I do believe that as with every other fragrance the actual scent depends on your body chemistry. On me it almost becomes sweeter than it already is and definitely more powdery than when you first dip your nose in it (I absolutely love how this smells on my body and that's one of the biggest reasons why I'm so in love with Sensual Orchid). On my mom it literally smells aggressive (?).. but in a really weird way, the sweetness almost becomes this deep tabacco infused scent. It isn't bad, but it smells way different on me and I would say there are plenty of perfumes that smell better on her. Aaaand it's really rare to hear my boyfriend say a particular perfume is 10/10, actually it's not often you hear from him that a perfume is simply "good". I still haven't found another fragrance that he would love more!

Wow, yum! Versace Crystal Noir and Viva La Juicy had a baby! I always thought they made a good couple. I'm not ashamed to admit I love a candy sweet, fruity scent with caramel and coconut. This is heavy sweet, fruity, a little tropical and richly musky. It doesn't exactly smell unique and niche so I can see why people could be disappointed by it. I have a fragrance from Victoria's Secret I adore, Very Sexy Now 2014, that smells like they could be sisters but this lasts much longer and is a little fresher. Basically, I love it for all the reasons it's hateable by other reviewers! Edited to add, I put this on my wrist and asked my husband for his opinion. I told him nothing about the fragrance. He smelled it and became sexual aroused and said it smelled "Slippery." I have no idea what that even means, but he purchased a full bottle for me immediately and says its the sexist perfume he has ever smelled on me.

I think the question "what's your favorite perfume" is as difficult as, for example, "what's your favorite movie", it's just so many of them. But since I purchased Sensual Orchid, this is my favorite number 1 perfume, no competition. It makes me think of beautiful Provance garden in the summer, full of flowers, white sheets drying in the fresh air; a beautifuly served table covered with the same white sheet, many people having lunch and drinking white wine. I can clearly smell white flowers mixed with almonds. I was surprised that there is an orange, I don't feel anything from citrus spectrum, the smell is very powdery. In my opinion, this is super universal perfume suitable to any season and any occasion. As weird as it sounds, you can easily pull it off both as something light for a day and something fancier for the night.

Smells like gwen aura extrait from 2023. I like it doesn't last as long as aura though. It very sweet sometimes gets on my nerves idk why I love sweet fragrances but something about this...gwen aura is actually nicer in my opinion...I mean look at the notes as well the notes are almost identical so it doesn't surprise me that this is a sweeter version of gwen aura. What surprises me that it's not even in the reminds me of section, a ton of fragrances that don't belong though are...maybe not many have smell gwen aura to compare to this. If you haven't please smell it! If you like this you'll love gwen aura and if this is not quite doing it for ya you'll probably fall for aura!!

This temperamental, but I love it. It can be hyper-clean, musky, buttery, nutty, salty, sweet, floral, and/or lactonic, but you never know which facets will come out on any given day. For example, the sweetness might show up as dunkaroo icing or the saltiest caramel. It might not show up at all, Sensual Orchid is ungovernable. I prerfer how it acts in the winter months, but I’m not mad at it in the summer. It’s complex and luxurious, but also understated. It’s possibly the most mysterious gourmand I’ve ever tried or maybe the sweetest fragrance that’s not a gourmand. Whatever the case may be, I highly recommend.

Male fan here! I do love gourmand fragrances, and i can appreciate scents like Mancera - Black Vanilla, but this is a notch up ! Yummy creamy floral gourmand, almonds, vanilla, beautiful florals and a warm base with benjoin and labdanum. What more can you ask for...Well a good performance off course, check! Sillage has an adequate 3 a 4 feet, and a good longevity of at least 10h. It's not safe for work, unless you feel frisky enough as a guy. A rainy autumn day or a christmas holiday is best for this awesome fragrance. Love it. 95

Wow this is gorgeous! So light, sweet and feminine! The sweetness is not at all cloying or stifling, its so soft and tender. I get a lot of almond and a bit of jasmine right off the bat. The sweetness then nestles into a bed of fresh clean linen that provides such a wonderfully well rounded experience. It's lovely and so, well, sensual! It's DEFINTIELY a dupe for English Laundry Oxford Bleu Femme, so if this turns out to be too expensive EL Oxford Bleu is certainly another option! These are twins and so beautiful! LOVE LOVE LOVE!

Tried it in a department store in Knightsbridge this summer (2012) when it was brand new. It is an incredibly luxurious, exotic and beautifully blended creation. All the flowers harmonize together and somewhat amplify the orchid note. I am daring enough to wear this as a man, but I guess you have to be somewhat adventurous. THE perfect contender for an ASIAN holiday far away, say Japan or Burma, Java. I consider it an aphrodisiac. Just like NOTHING out there at the moment. 10/10 Masterpiece.

First, this is by far a much nicer and rounder scent than Midnight Fleur by Nest. It is beautiful from initial spritz to the last note. I love how it settles and develops on the skin with those vibrating waves of bliss floating around as I I move. I feel it like a lush floral perfume with a touch of sweet vanilla which is all but foody. The quality is sure and almost visible. It says for long hours and I simply enjoy it.

When I first sprayed this, I immediately knew this is what I wanted to smell like everyday! This is such a beautiful sweet floral vanilla with some fruitiness. The creaminess of the almond, the ylang ylang, and smoothness of the vanilla. Signature scent worthy!

An absolutely beautiful perfume. Sensual is the perfect word to describe it. Total date night scent. Not one I'd wear to church or the office, but if I get married this is my first choice for my wedding perfume.

Very soft and sensual but somehow stays with you. Bubble bath and baby powder. Lovely. I am surprised it is an Extrait de Parfum though? How can something this soft be an extrait?

It's a wonderful perfume, but its performance is poor. It fades away after a short while. Even though it has vanilla, I don't think it's gourmand. It's a sweet floral scent.

It is definitely a perfume that men can use too. There are men's perfumes that smell much more feminine than this perfume. unisex 8/10

Lovely, sweet, soft, warm and very very femme. Not for me, then, but a true comfort scent - inoffensive, and much more subtly musky, but it reminded me a little of Narciso Rodriguez for Her EdP in its head-space. Not TOO sweet, or too dry, but certainly a pale-pink powder puff kind of deal. Classy enough not to cloy - it might look overwhelmingly sweet and blowsy, yet it manages not to sicken - but not quite quirky enough to make me fall in true love. There's quite a lot else out there that's like it. Undeniably nicely done though and would be wearable anywhere if it really tickles your fancy. Those who gravitate to vanilla and flowers are likely to love it.

Unlike others, I did not find "Sensual Orchid" to be particulary sensual at all. This is a very pleasant scent. I do enjoy orchid and almonds and this scent by LM Parfums has done a good job of combinating the two. But for me this lacks some bitterness maybe? From the start "Sensual Orchid" is almost chokingly sweet. It lasted around 10 hours and projected very strongly. Worth a try for those who enjoy floral ultra sweetness. Not worth the huge price tag, though. Retails for 196 EUR/100ml

I get cream soda right at the top which is quite lovely, but then this dies down into a creamy floral which reminds me of Montana 80. Nothing massively ‘oriental’ to my nose. It seems to wear pretty close to the skin and lasts a few hours. Im getting a few creamy wafts which is quite nice. Its ok but a bit generic which is a bit of a shame. Nothing groundbreaking. I think I’ll probably layer it up. Actually maybe im being mean... the cream soda bit really is lovely.

If I was gifted a full bottle of Sensual Orchid, I bet I would find many occasions to wear it. It’s enjoyable but it’s not a love. The opening features a vanilla and almond note that reminds me of a realistic coconut. It’s a resort style, high quality suntan lotion dupe. Makes me feel like I should be shopping in an air conditioned mall in Boca Raton. Drydown is a pleasant mix of pretty notes, creating a sweet aura. Thank you deb.martinez for sending me a sample!

This is another “doll head” scent recommendation for all you fellow weirdos who love that sort of thing! I sense a gentle peach-like note (probably the ‘orchid’) mixed with ylang, vanilla, heliotrope and coconut. There’s also almond and benzoin giving off a powdery aura. Jasmine and citrus are faintly detectable to me, giving it a slight sour edge, but this is overall fairly sweet. Sensual Orchid is powdery and beautifully (yes, beautifully) plastic scented.

Sensual orchid doesn’t smell like cheap vanilla based, sweet, gourmand type, but it doesn’t smell like niche fragrance to me either. Performance is weak, it evaporates within few hours, doesn’t project much, stays close to the wearer. There is also something cloying and synthetic about it. I feel like the ingredients are there but it lacks the depth and complexity. It’s a perfume that doesn’t excite your senses, maybe good for younger crowd.

First Impressions: Immediately I thought oh this definitely smells like Yara only more refined and less powdery on the skin. More gourmand, but also more floral, and there’s a bubblegummy note in here. Edit 1: This one is Yara but make it: + refined -less cloyingly sweet -less powdery + more florals that have a bubble gummy facet to them. For $240 for it to be a better version of Yara is beyond crazy to me. Verdict-Pass not worth the money.

I was really impressed with Black Oud and Hard Leather from this house and was hoping that Sensual Orchid would have that same air of raw sexuality and refinement in feminine form. It is very pretty, feminine, maybe sensual....but too safe. I think the reviewer who said "sensual shampoo" was spot on. I get a lovely fruity floral suntan lotion that is comforting and easy to wear. But not for $300+

I'm not the person to like this kind of a sweet fragrance but the creamy almond-orchid-ylang ylang in this get me. It does have a feeling of a quality air freshener, I don't think that makes the scent any less complex though. It stays and blends very well on the skin. The sweetness takes no risks, it doesn't scream. I find this quite girly, feminine and sometimes dainty even.

This is really lovely for about 30 minutes or so and then it's a skin scent. The almond isn't really too noticeable outside of the skin scent stage, this seems to be mostly a strong floral (peony?). It's okay but vanishes too soon. 5/10

A feminine and delicate sweet vanilla-almond on me, followed by a powdery base of heliotrope. I wish I could pick up more orchid, though. Intimate silage but would not want to overspray this anyway.

Hahaha indeed it's totally the smell of a lot of supermarket almond milk soap...it's a trend for sure as there is a perfumeur called Francis Kurkdjian who sell a lot of insipide softner, blank soap (and synthetic sugar) in little bottle for 200€...so is this one good? Yes, even if it's a total cliché in his (very commercial) genre, it's really well done. It's never cloying and it has an good longevity. A very airy coconut shampoo with some flowery touchs and a boozy vanilla base. Cliché assumé

most of the time, perfume triggers certain memories. This particular perfume takes me back to 1991 when I was trying to bathe with almond soap, but the water was off because of a reservoir fuckery. I grabbed a towel, and the rest is a blur of frustration, desperation, and nudity

i thought the sweetness would fade but no. Still sweet. Feels like you are in a candy shop all the time. Disappointed.

Very similar to Sensual & Decadent from the same house. It’s okay. I like Jerome Epinette’s work but not here.

I find this t be a bit of a mixed up soup! It was pleasant when sniffed in the bottle, but then the first half hour was a bit grim for me - all vanilla and what seemed like coconut (though I don't see that here in notes). I wished I'd tested some of the oud perfumes as I prefer somthing more woody anyway. Into dry-down it became a mix of synthetic/sharp/sweet. I expected something a bit synthetic which I don't mind, it just depends on the effect. In this case I find it similar to, say, a Mugler perfume - it just doesn't smell either elegant or unusually niche to me. The general effect is a slightly oily/floral/tart/sweet summer holiday perfume which underwhelms me, it doesn't intrigue me anyway

I would just like to warn you guys that unfortunately the new version contains the horrid "amberwood" molecules or whatever nuclear unpleasant thing they now have to use to make even people with no olfactory receptors be able to smell it. Not in the insane amount but it's definitely there so if you're sensitive to those - you must sample this first. I didn't test because it was a repurchase - big mistake. I'm now on a hunt for the original version and this one goes off to Mercari :-(

I had big expectations about Sensual Orchid because everybody was talking big about it, stating how special it is to them and I had a big crush on Veleno Dore from the same perfumery but this one is a no no to me. Smells like some old church and Ramadan dates to me... I understand it’s a high quality mixture and forced myself to like it but didn’t attract me at all... Got an intact 10 ml decant if anyone interested. A regular nail polish bottle size to be precise.

It’s way too sweet for me (remember I’m no good with prominent vanilla) but it’s pretty. It opens with a tropical pina colada style - coconut creamy from the almonds, heliotrope, ylang-ylang, vanilla and musk combo. The dry-down is more like sun tan lotion. Way too sweet and feminine for me.

Man... I have no idea why I put it on this morning, after I already tested it earlier and decided it is such a boring, ordinary fragrance. Eau de pretentious fabric softener/air freshener. And the brand-new foil sealed spray vial was only about half full - what's up with that LM??

went on sour then immediately a bit of citrus then an amber/vanilla that reminds me of something else I can't place my nose on; tiny hint of dry orchid and almond, no other flowers, this is a common fragrance that is not amazing

I was hoping for vanilla orchid, but this is a lighter and less cloying version of Sol Cheirosa 62.

So interesting guy. I asked some help from my BF to describe thes perfume. I have it since 2013 and It's way not my perfect scent but it is my favorite and it will always be oneof my favorite because... My bf says it smells like sex. It's definiteley aphrodisiac because it feels like nothing out there, very subtle, only purity,sweetness and affection in the air a source of what is undetectable because it doesn't grow to something stronger nex to skin. There's only wooden notes and citrus which sounds manfully, very alien and suddenly. Before thinking about this perfume it seems so simple, but soft, tender and feminine, I was buying it as a message: I am no longer girl, Im a woman. I got sample of the perfume from my friend , her skin chemistry made it smell like a mix of vanilla and something bitter, not subtle at all, it's different on my skin (she was surprised that it's same perfume) and different from paper, so try every perfume on YOUR OWN skin even if the smell is obvious. Even more because the perfume is not cheap. I love this smell also because its always "On the verge of" Beinng floral while it's tend to be giurmet, being very feminine while its masculine next to skin, being subtle while having pretty strong sillage and being clean while it is so sweet.

I always hunt when I'm playing or working abroad.. In spite of the internet making everything available, obscure stores selling scents I might've never known or couldn't find, exist hidden -except by foot. The setting: a seeming work trip. An Intl Film Festival, the king of pop had just died, the Hof. Flashy & bright -of every kind...But, only from the outside, cause, inside... ...was, well, it had been very foggy, in every sense of the been. Slinky -the after party would've. Aristocratic -the chaperone could've. Early, the night should've. Sensual, Munich might've. Sober -the girl had been, but, clear it was not, cause... ...unable to comprehend, she tried holding her eyes and squinting her nose, but, only out of politeness, did she allow the scentress to show her what was inside the black porcelain bottle with the silly words Sensual Orchid written on it. It wasn't the dim and uncategorical smell, it was like an actual spell... ...and sensual is just what did happen. I didn't know I wanted to, but, I did it anyway, ummm. The girl thinks that you should, too.

5 years after trying this in a duty free, with a vague memory of it's name, I managed to get hold of a sample and I just love it. Fragrances with almond have a special effect on me, and I smell this intense sweetness for a few hours. The vanilla holds the top notes high, although I don't get anything zesty from the orange after the first spray. Sillage is not huge and I find it sits quite close to my skin, which is something I don't mind with sweeter fragrances. The ylang ylang and jasmine work beautifully together to enhance the orchid note. Not sure how "sensual" this comes across to others, but all I know is I've been smelling my wrist for the last half hour non stop!

Sensual Shampoo. Remember me a Victoria's Secret, and more specifically reminds me of Night. I sensea really green apple that becomes quince, sour plum, vanilla. Stop. It is not as deep or musky as the title suggests. But almost a fresh schent warmed by vanilline. Skin scent.

sweet creamy coconuty vanilla, a soft and sensual smell, but almost all i can get is vanilla and coconut, almonds? really? maybe almond milk. i would not call em oriental, to me it's more on a gourmand side. nice, unofensive, wearable and quite common scent

Bare skin on dark green velvet cushions, opulent ringed fingers brewing potions and concoctions, twigs snug on unwashed hair strands. Maybe you will be let in the lair, so you end up following the trail.
