Vol d'Hirondelle

Tried it, tested it and bought it today in a famous London department store opposite Hyde Park (the other smaller one). Fell in love with the brand this summer. Really wanted the Sensual Orchid One but at £195 way over my budget. (worth every penny though) This one is a fresher yet dense and complex concoction of all kinds of citrus fruits, rosewood, vetiver and that green petitgrain. Very nice rose note in there as well. To me probably the best citrus themed fragrance that has an unusual and exotic complexity that is hard to achieve with a construction of citrus. Superb and long-lasting. Not too heavy and not flighty either. A brilliant and very exclusive product that very few people wear. For the fragrance lover that is hard to impress. 8.5/10

i wear it in springtime and can't get enough of it, i'm an addict! every perfume i review has something to do with taste – and so does this one too (i'm a passionate cook): i think it mainly consists not of davana (artemisia pallum) like in many descriptions but rather of southernwood (artemisia abrotanum). in german known as 'eberkraut' or 'cola-kraut'. this explains the fizzy freshness of VdH: coke! mixed with a very silver sky. an airy cocktail.

Simply put, this fragrance is a tribute to Un Jardin en Méditerranée by Hermès, with subtle nuances of Velvet Vetiver by Dolce & Gabbana. In the drydown, the proportions shift—leaning more toward Velvet Vetiver and less toward Un Jardin en Méditerranée. Notably, the quality is on par with these two fragrances. An anecdote suggests that Vol d’Hirondelle was released by the owner of LM Parfums in memory of Mona di Orio. While I can’t verify the truth of this claim, I find it hard to imagine Mona di Orio endorsing such an association. It almost feels as if LM Parfums is asking, “What would Mona di Orio create if she were the perfumer of Un Jardin en Méditerranée?” Such speculation seems unnecessary, and, frankly, I think Mona di Orio might not have appreciated it. Apologies to the fans who love this scent. I’d describe it as a "likeable" fragrance that’s almost worth the $69.98 sale price. It’s casual, but nothing groundbreaking—perfect for gifting to someone who enjoys mainstream fragrances and is open to a slight twist. Rating: 6.5/10

Vol d'Hirondelle opens with fizzy, icy lemon supported by a woody base of cypress. The lemon here feels high-pitched thanks to a clean white musk, like a sharp, surgical knife cutting through the air. However, when the sharpness starts to mellow, Vol d'Hirondelle transforms into an abstract sweet tart fig fruit laden over powdery aromatic cypress, which is essentially a twin of Hermès Un Jardin En Méditerranée on my skin. Vol d'Hirondelle seems to have more white musk when I compared them side by side, which makes it a tiny bit more hazy than Un Jardin en Méditerranée, but otherwise they're fairly similar on my skin. The sillage of Vol d'Hirondelle is moderate and the longevity is around 9 hours, which makes Vol d'Hirondelle overall stronger and more long lasting than Un Jardin en Méditerranée on my skin. If you happen to enjoy Un Jardin en Méditerranée, but would like a stronger version, or a more stimulating citrus opening, I think Vol d'Hirondelle would fit the bill.

یه عطر گُلی_مُرکباتی ساده و حال خوب کن شروع عطر با مُرکبات تُرش و شیرین هست که همراهی یاس و پتی گرین هم کاملا مشخصه کمی بعد که مرکبات از تَب و تاب می‌افتند،یک بوی میوه ای و باز هم تُرش و شیرین رو در کنار یاس لطیف و سبُک و خنک دریافت کردم که شیرینی کنترل شده و متناسب ای داشت تلخی ای هم در این بین از یک فضای گیاهی گرفتم که تعادل خوب‌ای بین روایح ایجاد می‌کرد و البته وجه سبز عطر رو کامل می‌کرد.مثل سبزی های مُعطر و محلی گیلان نُت های چوبی عطر مثل وتیور،کاملا در خدمت عطر و نت های گُلی است و کمتر به صورت مستقل عمل می‌کنه شروع عطر رو بیشتر از پایان‌اش دوست داشتم اما درمجموع قشنگه -تست شده از شیشه‌ی قدیمی- ************** scent:7.5/10 longevity:7/10 sillage:7/10 purchase value:3.5/10 ******** overall:6/10

This is a green-spicy, herbal-aromatic and citrusy scent for mild weather, fall, spring and cool summer evenings. Totally unisex. The opening is a little harsh, citrusy/green/spicy but if you wait the dry down is nice. Dominant notes are petitgrain, bergamot, vetiver, artemisia, lemon, orangewood and mandarin. With that order. There is also a tiny green tea vibe. There is a faint jasmin and a more soft/faint rosy feeling somewhere at the background which play a supporting role in the blend. It is a long lasting scent with moderate sillage. The projection dies after about 1 hour and radiates 1 inch from the skin.

Fresh bright citruses with a green and herbal twist for an opening. I like it but it doesn't stand out or do enough to be anything past that.

Rhubarb and lemon. Later a bit wood also. Nice. + quite unique + fresh - loud rhubarb opening

Vol d'Hirondelle — A Story Worth Wearing Vol d'Hirondelle was inspired by a painting created for Laurent Mazzone by a close friend, a landscape deliberately left unnamed, so that each wearer may inhabit it on their own terms. An honest way to introduce a fragrance. It does not tell you what to feel. It simply opens a door. From the first spray, it projects with far more confidence than its reputation suggests. Green dominates immediately, petitgrain and a sharp piney accord that is alive without tipping into anything flat or vegetal. Fresh the way early morning air is fresh. Not clean. Alive! The heart brings something unexpected: familiarity. A scent memory just out of reach, something from childhood, something my mother once wore. That quality alone separates it from almost everything I own. Close your eyes and the name makes perfect sense. A swallow sweeping low over tall uncut grass, still heavy with morning moisture. Hunting. Rising. Disappearing into open sky. Weightless, precise, free. With over 600 fragrances across designers, niche and discontinued classics, I do not say this lightly, this one feels genuinely unlike anything else on my shelves. Four hours in, it still speaks clearly from the skin. I do not rate fragrances numerically. Numbers flatten what should be a feeling. Vol d'Hirondelle is for those who wear a fragrance the way others read a poem. It tells a beautiful story. And it tells it well.

I am probibly the only one who gets the same feeling from Vol d'Hirondelle as Higo from Campos de Ibiza. Tried it a few days next to one another... Can't shake that feeling. Maybe my nose is playing trics on me. Not the same scent, but similar. Someone?
