Arabia Al Oud

Stuff projects like an atomic bomb! Wore it to work, about 2 sprays. People said it was flowing through the air, so I had to wash it off because the complaints were coming at me faster than a fighter jet. Amazing oud, but not for all those around you.

The scent is really nice, agarwood, sweet and comforting. BUT it becomes a skin only scent after 10mins and has ZERO projection. Literally oversprayed myself in the car before walking inside the house. Wanted to see if ny partner notices and likes it and honestly..... nothing. Had to ask him to literally touch my neck with his nose to smell anything. It’s not worth it really.

Update: (Arrival day 26NOV24) Allright...first thoughts: This is gonna have to macerate a while...it's not ready. Okay, so this opens up STRONG with Oud and something that feels like incense. Stays projecting Oud and a light floral (maybe the rosewood?) or sour wood and an incense for the first 3 hours. It is VERY intense on opening, but softens up after about 30 minutes to something slightly bearable. This fragrance smells AMAZING in the air...but DO NOT put your nose to the area where you sprayed...you will NOT like the result! Smelled up close on skin, it has a very strong medicinal tone to it from the Oud...almost like band-aids or the Iodine your grandmother put on your cuts and scrapes. Somehow...in the air...this fragrance aerates and spreads itself out molecularly to have a cloud-scent-bubble of "Midnight Poison" to me. The drydown is very Oudy...very bitter sour woodiness with a hint of vanilla. It smells very "Rosey" to me on the drydown...the one frag note that I can't really stand. So...this isn't working for me already. I dislike rose...or anything that smells close to it. On that note...this one is going in the fridge for 12 hours and then into the closet for a week. I'll do another review after it's macerated some time. If it's still sour wood and roses...in the donation bin it goes. 03DEC24 This is not looking good. The drydown on this is far too sour and bitter to wear. After the hint of vanilla disappears on the first 30 minutes...this fragrance becomes incensy sour oud...and that's all. All the other notes that make a brief show in the opening completely disappear in 30 mins...leaving the sour-wood Oud note as the only thing in this fragrance. 12DEC24 Test-sprayed on napkin last night. Scent has mellowed more and the opening is not as medicinal-harsh. The oud and sour wood has lowered and the vanilla in the fragrance is more noticeable...smoother now. The fragrance also didn't dry-down to bitter woods and roses overnight this time. If it stays smooth on paper and doesn't go bitter-sharp...it will be warm and resinous on skin. Not ready to test this on skin again...but it's definitely improved. I'll give it to the end of this month and see how it smells. 14FEB25 Nah...not enough mellowing, still turns to rancid fecal-oud after 4 hours on skin. Such a shame...this fragrance is absolutely marvelous before the drydown. Will check it again in the spring... 01JUL25 This stuff still smells like liniment and vanilla. The wife says it smells like Soap...I say it stinks to hell and back. I can BARELY tolerate this if its just smelling the atomizer. Once it's sprayed, it takes over the whole room and makes my head hurt. If I ever need to add a touch of "Oud" to any fragrance I make...I would use a spray of this stuff. Yes, it's THAT powerful! I don't know how my bottle is so bloody strong and the guy posting above me can hardly smell his. The batch variation on this frag must be absolutely as unholy as the smell....
