Arabia Silver Vetiver

Have to say this is pretty good quality for the very reasonable cheap price. I had a bad experience with Just Jack Vetiver which was another Tom Ford GV clone but that one I found headache inducing it was so synthetic and lacked any kind of depth or transition beyond what you sniffed instantly. This on the other hand isn't overpowering or nauseous at any point and smells amazing. Grey Vetiver smells of what a man should smell like out and about doing his daily business. Clean and fresh. I read before Vetiver isn't a sexy note in mens perfume and I'd fully agree. You wouldn't wear this on any fancy date with your missus, it's Oud and Tobacco time then lol but seriously, this is one of the best day to day quality scents that could easily still get you multiple compliments, you can easily wear this casual everywhere any time of year and never get tired of it. When JustTheFactsMan gives a cheapie a full on love vote you know it's got to be epic!

#1385 in my "Tour de Fragrance" I am definitely going to give more of these Le Chemeau scents a tryout. This is much better than Tom FOrd Grey Vetiver, which is absolutely ruined by the pimento in that scent. No such nastiness here. Vetiver, saffron and orange blossom and that's it. No amber, no vanilla, no myrrh. If you want vetiver, vetiver and more vetiver, this is the scent you've been waiting for. Inoffensive for any setting. Dirt cheap. High quality. I'm ordering more of this line now.

I had to come and comment on this. I do not remember how Grey Vetiver smells but this one is truly amazing. Such a nice clean scent. Easily my best blind buy ever. Did not expect it to be this good since I had a bad experience with Arabia Explorer (aventus/mb explorer kind of scent)

Vetiver is easily my favorite fragrance element. I have a few dozen vetiver-dominant fragrances, so when I heard that the up-coming house of Emper had made a TF Grey Vetiver clone, I had to try it. As with most things, it has pros and cons. On the pro side, 100ml is less than $25, it lasts 7 - 8 hours, and it roughly approximates the dna of TF Gray Vetiver. The cons are that TFGV isn't one of my favorites, and this one adds, to me, an element that hints of insect repellent/windex. It isn't strong, but it is there, just diminishing this a bit. And as a vetiver lover, there are just so many other vetiver fragrances that check all of the boxes, including the three Encre Noirs, the grossly underrated Encre Indigo, TDHs, Guerlain Vetiver line, Guerlain Homme and Homme Boisee, Lalique PH Equus, and Mon Vetiver. Now, if you think TFGV is amazing, you should try this, because maybe that insect repellent thing is just a reaction to my skin chemistry. And for $25, this one could really work for you. Oh, and the note listing above isn't correct. Edyer40 below has the notes as listed by Emper's website.

This reminds me of Encre Noire Sport (ENS) from Lalique a bit and is great dupe of Tom Ford Grey Vetiver. Its closer to TF, because Lalique whole Noire offerimg is just too dry to be that close to this one. I love the fact it has simple scent profile. Some fresh, sweet and a bit floral orange blossom makes the opening much more palatable than ENS. Saffron is subtle, doesnt overpower the main character of vetiver, which is fresh and citrusy. Its last for several hours, isnt strongest performer, but for about 30 euros its far from weak and incredible value overall. I like it even better than Encre Noire Sport from my long time favourite house of Lalique.
