Aqua Paradisi

So litlle known and yet such a gem.:) Love it a lot! Works perfectly with my skin. Delicate but stays quite long. Sweet but not cloying. There is also some softness in it. If you are looking for a real rose-ROSE fragrance then I'd suggest Jo Malone Red Roses. But if you want to have a nicely blended mixture of heavenly cloud-like rose with a hint of fruits, go for this beauty.

This is a spicy rose fragrance. The initial spray is really strong and powerful, but settles down to a warm blanket of something green, also spicy. It is good, sweet and almost sensual. But at the same time is is refined and sophisticated. It all depends on how you are wearing it. Nevertheless, it is very feminine leaning. I had a sample of this when it first released, I wasn’t that into perfumes at that time, but I remember how much I liked this. When I found a bottle at a decent price I bought it, but now I think I regret it. It is very much different from what I usually pick out, and maybe that is why I liked it at the time of the sample, because it was different? The iris is a problematic one, it is headache inducing for me, but the fragrance itself feels well-blended so luckily the iris is hard to detect. It doesn’t say that this is aquatic, but to me this one feels aquatic in the same way L’Imperatrice by Dolce & Gabbana is aquatic. Maybe that is just me... The fragrance is surprisingly warm, and has a nice depth. Sillage and longevity is great as well, and I didn’t think it would last as long as it actually does.

This is a very unique fragrance, very distinct and different. At first I wasn't sure if I liked it but I've come around to really appreciate it. I can't smell many of the notes listed here. What I get from this scent is smoky incense first and foremost, and it's somewhat powdery. It's on the deeper side but not too deep, a unisex scent. It's warm and cozy so perfect for autumn, and nice for winter, too. It makes me think of a historical church or and old manor in a good rich way, haha. I will say, I have to be careful with this fragrance because it can be overpowering if sprayed too much.

The bottle says pelargonium and rose. Pelargonium is another word for geranium. Neither pelargonium or geranium are listed here, but this is a geranium bomb! Geranium is typically used in men's fragrances and is essential in fougeres. It lends a fresh, slightly spicy almost minty floral aspect to fragrances. Those words describe well what Aqua Paradisi smells like, with the added touch of watery or airy undertones that is typical for many Jean Claude Ellena fragrances. High concentration (78% alcohol), if you like geranium, you will love this.

There's a whole note missing, and yet it's right there on the box and blurb from the brand: pelargonium. It's what gives this a bitter-green, earthy twist. There's a similar note in Knize Ten. The feeling I get from this is that of an aromatic cologne. There is plenty of rose, but it is counterbalanced by the pelargomium. I'm definitely becoming a fan of the whole line from Le Couvent.
