I recently ordered a set of 30 mls of every scent Le Couvent currently offers, since I've appreciated everything of theirs I've ever tested very much, and would go so far as to say they offer the best price/quality ratio around (at least as far as I know). And this one is no exception: it's very nice, and for its price it's excellent. If the combination had ever occurred to me, which it hadn't, I wouldn't have thought orange and lavender would go very well together, but they really do! The bright fresh sweetness of the orange fits the aromatic sweetness of the lavender very well, in fact, and the effect is soft and mellow and yes, indeed: easy to interpret as soothing, calming, relaxing, serene. It's very possible I'm letting myself be convinced by the marketing here, as I'm usually a sucker for these things, but I agree with Hedonista: it really is a good spa scent. Strangely, the fact that I also agree with Hrival9 that it does have a slightly synthetic edge to it, a little reminiscent of an indoor swimming pool, only adds to the spa effect to my nose - I don't much mind it at all. The performance isn't good, though, in fact it's probably the worst of the entire line. I find myself using much more than my usual two sprays with this one, and still it doesn't last much more than half an hour, and it doesn't project well even in that limited time. But at this price, respraying often is not a problem. I imagine this will be a perfect scent to wear to bed in the summertime, or to cool down and relax after a hot and stressful day.

It's a spa scent. It's nice and there is a calming feeling to it. But it's very average. Nothing bad just nothing special. I do get a slight hint of blueberry, no lavander, no woods. It's well made and nicely blended. That's it exactly - it's nice. It shouldn't offend anyone and would be good for casual or alone ME time wear. I don't think I would buy it for myself again, but I wouldn't mind if I got more of it as a gift.

I agree with the other reviewers who say this smells like a "spa" scent. The orange and lavender is there, yes, but the overall effect is a soft synthetic clean smell. I used it to spray my pillow and sheets until I finally just used up the bottle :)

"Hrival9 - the company bases its existence on the natural purity and simplicity of the fragrances. As far as I know this is not a line strewn with synthetics. I have the Vanilla one which is sublime and very real as the liquid is darkening with age. Just ordered the Orange blossom one and can't wait. There are others not listed in this database. An affordable line if natural fragrances float your boat. Longevity is limited as with all the range, but the are superb alone or as wonderful tools for layering with perfumes you feel"meh" about, to create unique personal fragrances. So glad I discovered this line.

I would like to kindly ask any members who have tested this fragrance how strong or not is the lavender note in it. I sampled a fragrance with a lavender note (Bohemian Bluebells Zara) some months ago for which, I had high hopes for, believing that I had found a soothing and a nice fragrance but unfortunately I could not tolerate it at all.
