Porto Bello

I don't smoke but I can imagine, if I did, if I were a smoker, and had been on a very long flight, like 16 hours, and you finally get off the plane, and you crave smoke like breathing, the first inhale you take is divine, it feels like you are finally breathing after 16 hours of holding your breath. And breathing in while inhaling your favourite cigarette you feel alive... That's how I feel about PortoBello. If I had a perfume addiction, this is the fragrance I would crave. Today I had a basic, normal day, not a lot of stress, but somehow I was worried, and I couldn't breathe. I did yoga, I went for a walk, I met friends for dinner...and still I felt like I coudln't breath. Before bed, I sprayed 3 times, Portobello on my wrists, and in my hair. It immediately felt like I had lit a joint and got high on the intensity of these incense/resin/orange/whiskey... I can't describe it, but nothing makes me more relaxed than this smell. It's very hot today and I had been wearing light florals all day (Aqua Sacrae, tuberose and jasmin, Saiga also...). It was too shy, my CNS central nervous system needed more. I love wearing Portobello in summer, when the intensity of Italian 35degrees make it explode like a bomb. I adore this perfume. thank you JCE.

You have to understand, how to smell this ;D. It starts littlebit masculine, but when there is question about womans skin, it isnt masculine - it blends so nicely, and turns into smooth, velvety and there is a touch of eastern vibe, maybe frankinsence with benzoin - and it is like those storyes: witch your neightbour friends mother use to read to us, from those heavy childrensbook.- Someone knows the name of book, where was allways some magic with the story. Somehow, even I am really demanding with my perfumes, -this perfume is one of those perfumes, which will get more charismatic, and more complex, when it goes older - trust me, this is littlebit like "Sean Connery" in the perfumes. This really has, the sexappeal, - you can try it, and then, come back, and tell to us, was I wright ;) - I believe so :P

This perfume smells so sensual and tasty to me. My skin chemistry though is known to destroy perfumes and make them sweeter and musky so maybe that's why. But I ADORE this perfume, it smells high quality and is like a sweet, incensed smoky orange on top of some wood. I could wear this on a night *and* day but it leans more towards an evening scent! I'd prefer this for colder weather/seasons. I'm tempted to call this one a signature scent for me because I love it that much and the samples don't cost too much so I recommend you give it a try before buying a full bottle! When I first sprayed this on my wrist for the first time, it did also smell quite masculine on me by dried into something sweeter. After a few more sprays on different days, I was sold, so give this perfume time to shine!

Now owning both Jazz Club and Porto Bello i was able to compare them a lot better. Porto Bello to me smells like an Orange pipe tobacco. Smelling it from the bag. Whereas Jazz Club seems to create a similar scent profile but coming from more places making it less easy to pick out all the notes. Porto bello to me can be worn almost everyday, all the time. And Jazz Club is more for fall and winter and more evening then day. I honestly love them both but i do like Porto bello for being something different that i can wear to work. There are a lot of seductive evening scents. I also believe Porto Bello performs slightly better.

Found it very off putting in store because of the green, almost menthol or eucalyptus-like note, but after maybe 10-20 minutes it had turned into this lovely sweet amber scent on my skin. On me the herbaceous and green notes disappear almost entirely, and I haven’t picked up on it at all since that first spray in store. Definitely don’t think it pulls masculine, at least not on me. I get tons of compliments and my mum even bought a bottle because she liked it so much on me. If you, like myself, tend to bring out the sweet notes in perfumes this is a must buy for autumn (but i wear it year round)!!
