Risala Autograph

I'll be honest, as a fountain pen enthusiast and someone who studied Ornamental Penmanship and Spencerian with a late master penman, I blind bought this only for the bottle. It's a very unique pen nib cap presentation. As luck would have it, I also won the blind buy lottery. This smells fantastic. I have tested a few Roja fragrances, but not Isola Blu. In looking at the notes, it does appear to be similar to Isola Blu. I do have Terre D'Hermes and another lesser known fragrance called Cuore di Pepe Nero (Heart of Black Pepper) from Erbario Toscano that my wife carries in her gift shop, and it shares similarities with those scent profiles in the opening: zesty citrus and pepper. Autograph takes zesty to a new level. It's punchy. Comparing to Pepe Nero, I would say it has twice the intensity and projection. Added Note: Probably the juniper berry notes in this will lead some to find similarities with Terre d'Hermes Eau Givree, as well. When I compare them side by side, TdHeG is lighter and less intense, but is closer on dry down than the original Terre d'Hermes to Autograph. In some ways Autograph also has some similarities (not the same at all) to Roja Burlington 1819, but without the divisive cumin note and more sweet vanilla from the tonka bean than Burlington 1819's vanilla note. So, these comparisons are like siblings and first cousins, not clones. This is to give an idea of the scent profile for those that might want to try it as a blind buy, because that is likely how it will be purchased. For those wondering about fake reviews, I assure you this is not one. Since there were not a ton of reviews for this sleeper, I thought I would add mine. I have just started using Fragrantica, so I haven't added scents I own to my profile and may never do so. I have my own spreadsheet for tracking fragrances. As a 55+ man, I have worn very little cologne over the years, but thought it would be a fun experience with my wife, so we've tested close to 200 fragrances recently, mostly via samples from decanters where we can truly experience the complete evolution of the fragrance through dry down in the comfort of our home. If you like TdH, you will likely enjoy this fragrance. To my nose (granted new to the world of fragrance), this is like a more complex Terre D'Hermes with the sillage and longevity of Beach Hut Man. This has strong projection. If you like softer citrus scent profiles such as Afternoon Swim or the likes of Creed Virgin Island Water (Rayhaan Acquatica), just know this is much stronger and more abrasive than those light citrus scents. I would easily give this a 9/10 and think it could work well during any season and time, though I will reserve it mostly for summer for my personal use. My preference is more toward softer powdery and clean scent profiles such as Dior Homme Intense, Prada L'Homme, etc. So, for a fresh zesty profile to get a 9/10 from me is saying a lot.

I applied Risala Autograph this morning, and OH MY, this one deserves the effort of a review. I blind bought this treasure about four months ago and liked it immediately. But when I sprayed it on this morning I was awestruck by how much deeper and more complex it had become. In my collection of ~100 fragrances, Autograph stands alone. I've smelled nothing like this elsewhere, and it is unique and exceptional. Imagine, you're sixteen and your best friend has an awkward, yet adorable little sister. Ten years later you're the best man at his wedding and that same sister enters the room. It becomes quiet. All heads turn to gaze upon a stunningly beautiful woman. Poise has preempted awkwardness. Cute has evolved into enchanting. Adolescence has transformed into sophisticated womanhood. Mistake not my female metaphor, however, for feminine scent characteristics. This fragrance is definitely masculine. Woof! That's what happened to my bottle of Autograph. The initial, out-of-the-box impression was sharp, but not unpleasantly so. The opening was delightful, citrus forward, drying down to a warmer, comfortable, ambery finish lasting 2-3 hours. After maturing some, the opening is still citrusy, but softer and more exquisite. After about an hour the floral notes emerge. After two hours those yield to a woody, resinous, slightly leathery base that last about 6-7 hours. Contrary to the Fragrantica ratings, I wouldn't characterize longevity and sillage of the grown-up version as eternal and enormous, respectively, but long and strong. However, I only applied two sprays. Oversprayers might produce eternal/enormous results. Most of Le Falconés fragrances are feminine or unisex, but based on Autograph, I am eager to sample their other masculine offerings such as Mirsaal Valentine, Qannas, Muharib Alpha, and Symphony Melody. I cannot yet offer a comparison to its inspiration, Roja Isola Blue. Bottom Line: -----------------NEW-----4-MOS Scent:----------9/10-----11/10 Longevity:-----4/10------8/10 Sillage:---------4/10------8/10 Value:---------10/10----20/10 CONTEXT: 65yo professional gentleman with the mature, old-school tastes one would expect from a man my age. I've been collecting fragrances for six months now and have about 100 fragrances. These are just one man's humble opinions. Your mileage may vary with taste and age.

First impression: it's gingery! I get a lot of zingy ginger at first, putting my nose very close I'm greeted by the typical oriental musk note, which I also find in Turathi Blue and likewise fragrances. Staying at this topic I must say, it has a lot of similarities with the TygarVibrato DNA just without the musk dominant note. Given this description Risala Autograph doesn't sound very good, but there is something about it. I cannot pinpoint what exactly but smelling it a bit further away it's just very well composed. I smell a lot of potential after maturation. It is not easy to make this gingery note not cheap smelling. I bought this because I trusted people saying it smells similar to Isola Blue and Basso. I know both and I love both, especially Isola Blue. For me Isola is just such a complete perfect casual but special scent. It sound paradox, I know. But if you wear it and it greets you time to time, you think ohh what is that? It smells good! I do not expect Autograph to do the same, but I wanted to have something maybe similar in a way. Unfortunately that is not the case right now. The citrus note smells a lot like ginger, the musk is too prominent, there's no coconut water accord and it lacks the feeling of standing in nature, just close enough to hear the ocean waves. I also had the opportunity to test Basso a couple of times. Basso develops way more, in the drydown its still complex, but also very negligible in its whole. Autograph is also not even close to Basso. In conclusion, right now Risala Autograph is a very unpolished rough diamond. But a diamond nonetheless. It bears a lot of potential and I'm exited to what it will develop in a couple of months .

Help me understand... Risala Autograph is really hard to find if you don't count ebay. There are but six individual brick-and-mortar stores carrying Le Falconé, all in N.A., NONE of which have it in stock. And there are only ten online stores that carry Le Falconé, two of which have it in stock. [Disclaimer: this info is from ChatGPT, which often makes sh*t up.] Of the five users below who compared Risala Autograph to Roja Isola Blue, only ONE of them had Isola Blue on their Fragrantica "have" or "had" shelves. How TF are they they drawing these comparisons??? * It's IN their collection, but they forgot to include it in their profile?? * They have a sample that's not listed in their profile? * In-store sampling? (Unlikely, since there are no b/m stores that actually have it.) * Just the note listings??? (C'mon, man!) DM me if you've any insights on this craziness.

This one was a shocker. How can such an inexpensive perfume ($32 for 100mL) smell this good and come in such an amazing box and bottle? Really makes you wonder about a place like Roja Dove charging 7x or more for something that smells maybe 20% better. Is it the best thing I've ever smelled? No. But it genuinely smells nice. I agree that it's maybe 70% TdH (which is the GOAT), at least initially. On dry down it's a lot sweeter and spicier, but not overwhelmingly so. Compared to Isola Blue (which I also have and love), it's not that similar. IB is much fruitier and fresh, with hardly any of the spice this has. Autograph also has much better staying power. I have absolutely zero regrets buying this. Love that bottle design.

Just arrived so only an unboxing and 1st impressions review. Great presentation. Definitely get the Lemon, lime and orange blossom in the opening. Gives good projection and sillage. I'd say its 85% similar to Roja Isola Blu. Definitely more of a Spring/ Summer and Autumn type of decent but you can use all year round. Will give it some time to macerate to see if anything changes..Got mine for just over £26 so a real bargain.👍🏻

Opens Iike Isola Blu but becomes Basso after 8-10 mins. Starts softer and more muted than Isola Blu, get close to the opening of Basso in about 10-15 minutes but developed with a twist. Og Basso already has TdH vibe, you get it in Autograph too. It's a pretty good wear if you don't need a strong Basso. Longetivity about 5-6 hours. Nice presentation for those with space to display.

Úvod jsou citrusy a černý rybíz, po chvilce připomíná, Vibrato a Bwl.tyger. má to podobný vibe. Vůně se vyvíjí a mění až si sedne tak je to zelená lehce zakouřená vůně. Důležité je nechat vůní dozrát, odležet klidně i tři měsíce, potom je to opravdu jiná písnička, krásně zjemní a vybarví se. Prostě na té vůní je něco, co je přitahující.

This is such a wonderful Scent Profile journey. It's a Compliment Beast. Last for hours upon hours on clothes and skin. To me This is An Epic Clone/Remix version of Isola Blue. A must have in any collection. Easily Unisex. 14.5/10!!

This is Tygar’s opening mixed with a Terre D’Hermes scent profile. It has that sweetness from Tygar with a smoother bitterness and dry down of Terre D’Hermes. Overall great scent and great longevity and projection.

In tge first impression wasnt as good, also performance was off.After a time this smells incredible and lasts easily strong 8hours.Makes me happy when i wear it, incredible value for money

SHOUT-OUT TO MISTY MOUNTAIN DECANTS FOR MY SAMPLE. Never smelled isola blue - but I have smelled tdh. This is very very good quality. Let me say that first. This brand seems to have very high quality so far for me. This is definitely in the same realm of citrus and vetiver but this focuses more on lime and lemon than the bergamot you smell in TDH. The quality though is exceptional and it is very smooth this is definitely kind of older money high class older gentleman type of smell that you would smell in the high heat probably in Europe. My personal opinion the profile smells a bit dated but so does TDH. My personal preference is TDH, but if you want that same profile with less of an emphasis on orange bergamot and you want more of a lemon lime with smooth vetiver then this is absolutely a must. As mentioned previously there is no slacking in ingredients and smoothness - this is actually very impressive. In terms of quality for the money I would easily give us an 8.9 out of 10 and if you happen to like the TDH scent profile and you're looking for something that's affordable then you absolutely have to get this. If you don't know what TDH smells like with citrus and vetiver then I would hold off until you get a sample. Misty mountain has it for like 2 bucks. I order like 30 bucks of samples from them at a time. When you get a sample or smell it for yourself or if you get a sample of TDH from some place like micro perfumes then you'll know what I'm talking about but this smells like old money and class but this is kind of an older man's fragrance I would say 35+ for hot weather. Try it for yourself.

I have TDH parfum and this is definitely in that dna! Difference is that risala is more citrusy and toned down in earthynes. I like it more cause it is more mass appealing than TDH. It is not as strong in longevity and sillage but will wait some time for maturation... For now the scent is complex and really nice,very versatile for all year usage.office friendly. Really like the lime note in it! For the price i paid-31 euro,really a no brainer!

I like it, it’s fresh and smells high-quality. I can tell the quality is better than Lattafa perfumes. But Basso is on another level. Basso is 1000 times better. For me, Basso is 3D and smells so much richer. This one is good too, don’t get me wrong, but you can’t compare it with Basso.

This review below is legit. I checked out the profile and he has reviewed PDM, sospiro, xerjoff and several others. This is the only falcone he has reviewed so far.... Reviews can be sketchy but I think he's being legit - like for real.

Smells very similar to Isola Blu. Strong citrus and woods with a leathery backbone. Smells green too. I don't detect any sweetness. This is a classy fragrance for a well dressed, mature man

I received the sample vial with my Qannas order, elegantly balanced. It's fresh, refined, and I personally love it for special occasions.

The scent is insane, but its downside is that it doesn’t last very long on me, contrary to what people used to say about it.

I originally bought this fragrance as I liked the idea of Roja Isola Blu. I ended up buying Isola Blu about a week after owning Risala Autograph. These two fragrances are not the same. Make sure you try this on skin, and not just on a test strip. You will become anosmic to it, but it lasts longer than Isola Blu in terms of skin scent if that all you are looking for. Autograph opens up harsh with an bright sour wall of synthetic citrus notes. The harshness dies down after 20-30 minutes, and it becomes a fairly well projecting bright sweet/sour fragrance for a couple of hours. The dry down is nice- mossy/wood/amber. For a £30 fragrance, it's decent enough. I have to warn about the green mossy note behind the harsh opening. If you are not keen on green fragrances, you might have to brace yourself. It's sharp and in there, probably from the Thyme, Laudanum, and oakmoss. It is fresh however, and smells really good after about 20-30 minutes. This is nothing like your elysium, bleu de chanel or the like. This is definitely an intermediate scent, not a first time scent. You have to be fairly confident to wear this, as it's strong and present. It screams I like to wear different and unique scents, not compliment me I'm wearing a generic freshie. On Isola Blu: So I would say Isola Blu always opens up quite sharp, but is more rounded than Autograph. You quickly can tell this is an expensive product. I was surprised how different it was to Autograph, which is vaguely in it's ballpark, but does its own thing. Isola Blu quickly becomes warm and sweet, with the citrus proejcting off the skin. You will become anosmic to this fairly quickly, but it is probably great for summer weddings and the like. Both have a bold scent profile, which cuts, is sweet, and thick. Risala Autograph is not a 1:1 with Isola Blu, it has similar notes, but side by side Autograph is probably about 65/70% there. I know this is trending at the moment, and all those influencers with links to get a bit of money from fragrances are pushing it, and I do think it is a good fragrance, but beware this will not be for everyone. Once again, for the price, I think you might as well save some money. If you insist on blind buying Isola Blu, Roja Parfums sell 10ml bottles for roughly £60 and you get a couple of samples with it. Nobody on the street will tell the difference, firstly because they've never smelled Isola Blu it's very expensive and niche. Secondly, I think you'd have to be into fragrances to enjoy the complex mix of notes. If Isola Blu it smells complex and clever, in Autograph it's a bit rougher, but you only need 2-3 sprays as it's a beast.

Very cheap smell. Opens up citrusy, creamy and slightly sour and spicy. Dries down to a spicy, citrusy and woody scent with a kind of barbershop/fougère shaving cream aspect, not bad but absolutely nothing wow, this even smells cheap. The notes listed are absolutely not noticeable in the scent. I also don't get the Terre d'Hermes vibe, far from it. The best part of this perfume, is the beautiful prsentation. Don't believe the hype blindly and sample before buying.

out of the box it smells like an herbal balm that I would put on my back if it hurt, il let it macerate and see if it changes. I GET THE FEELING THESE reviews are fake.

Ok glad I got speak over fountain boy below me, listen going off a sample Decant, not distracted but the pen looking bottle i'll tell you what I smell and pick up. I sprayed it earlier, will do it now again whilst writing this. Live review lemon/lime citrus blast hmm..lime skin, orange now no, more like tangerine actual like the green leaf of the tangerine, you ever touch that smell your hand? Some moss poking through now. There is a slight inky metallic undertone, very subtle. I read the notes on my pack, barely and here I saw a load but just looks a mess so I'll go off smell because those notes could be wrong or even irrelevant if it don't smell like any of them, for example cannot smell any coconut at all. Alittle bit of a boozy note pushing through, like a sparkling citrus champagne. Honestly it's not my cup of tea. It's not necessarily bad if you like those type for things I described, I personally do not. I'd say suit younger demographic, clubbing, summer

If you like something a bit more refined than Isola Blu Roja and enjoy the fresh, woody vibe of Terre d’Hermès, this might be a great pick. It feels mature but not old, smooth but not boring, the kind of scent someone with quiet confidence would wear. I’d say it’s a great signature for someone starting to take their fragrance game seriously. Clean, classy, and effortlessly cool.

Looking at all those hilariously fake ratings on this brand’s products especially in the longevity and sillage sections, suggests that they probably had company staff vote, which is a red flag big enough to never trust these new, small time ME brands. Honesty is the best policy.

Ya after two days of use it. It’s very good nice projection and good longevity. According to me its 70~80% like TDH edt. Nice citrus and Vetiver perfume 8/10! Bottle design very unique and eye catching, packaging super hard two layers box!!

Insanely great smelling for the price with outstanding projection and longevity. With perfumes like this, it makes no sense to spend tons of money on high end fragrances. It is companies like this that I owe my variety to.

Risala Autograph is an absolutely beautiful perfume. The scent is refined, smooth, and truly unforgettable. I really appreciate how elegant and long-lasting it is definitely a fragrance worth having.

This is quite special, I don’t really see myself wearing this because I’m simply not cool enough. Clearly high quality, citrus heavy. Think TdH, but in my opinion better.

It is definitely more masculine. I found I like it a lot when my partner layers it with other colognes. Initially I wasn't a fan but its really grown on me.

I agree with the dude who says this smells like an herbal balm. Trashcan worthy but I think I'll let it sit for 6 years and I'll check back with it then.
