Brumes (2020)

After testing a sample, I had to buy a larger bottle. It's a very feminine floral, sweet (not sugary) and slightly metallic, very beautiful on my skin. The dry down is marvelous! It creates an aura of immersive beauty that lasts forever on skin and clothes. It's a very versatile perfume to wear at any occasion or time of the year. I have some other samples of Le Galion and all are of excellent quality, although some do not match my chemistry - as well as the majority of perfumes. I highly recommend Brumes. Smell of chic and elegant woman.

Have just purchased this from Shy Mimosa after having samples first. It’s bright and cheerful, and unusual as for that type of fragrance it also lasts really well. Bergamot, pineapple, and raspberry make it uplifting. I’ve been so pleasantly surprised by Le Galion, which I’d thought was old fashioned. Not true, they have some really interesting perfumes. I love 222 too, and there’s lot more to try.

Vintage Brumes appears to be a completely different perfume. My sample is a dark aldehydic, spicy blend. Reminiscent of Opium.

Best indolic white floral ever. Great longevity!

The opening is like piña colada, bright and fruity. It then becomes smoother when the floral and vanilla scents kick in. Just like Snob, Brumes also has this strong musky base - cold, metallic, and a little bit skanky. I wish the fruitiness lasted longer on my skin. Prefer the opening to the drydown as I am not the biggest fan of musk in Le Galion's perfumes.

This review is for the vintage extrait/parfum authored by Paul Vacher for his newly acquired perfume house of Le Galion in the late 1930's, I am fortunate to own several sizes of this extrait with most sealed and still housed within original packaging, sizes range from 1 fluid ounce to the largest flacon containing a whopping 250 mls (approx.7 fl.oz), all were purchased and sealed with bauderuche intact, the bottles are high quality glass/cristal with precision ground stoppers & are now stored in a climate controlled facility, ~Brumes~ including other Le Galion fragrances in my collection was part of a vintage hoard that came from the basement of a pre WWII pharmacy located in Berlin, a scented time capsule that managed to survive this period of history...this is indeed liquid gold, here is my review, A highly complex floral/aromatic aldehyde created by Paul Vacher for the perfume house of 'Le Galion' in the late 1930's, one of several parfums included in a concert of offerings known as his Fantasy collection. The parfum opens with warm anisic/herbal notes containing tarragon & galbanum followed by a rich spicy rose/carnation heart saturated with other lush floral absolutes widely used in high perfumery at the time. The liberal use of lavender and grey amber adds a slightly ozonic marine accord to the heady & sweet lilac, heliotrope & jasmine. Evocative of warm fragrant summer days in the south of France, from the golden fields of hay stacks and narcissus blooms to the rolling surf spray of the Cote D'azur. One more classic fragrance lost to the ether of so many decades, a defining creation for it's time and a testament to the genius of Paul Vacher.

Surprisingly sunny for a perfume of this name. White flowers and fruits mainly.

A jasmin-centered scent, touch of a sharp green pineapple.

Like a packet of wine gums at first, then white florals.
