Cuir

I quickly finished my tester vial and bought a 100 ml bottle. Wear it daily and in the course of the day I help myself to a fresh little spray. I love this fragrance, which is unusual for me, as it has a clear floral indication (lily) and I have trouble with flower scents. I appreciate perfume that makes me accept/appreciate notes that I avoid. Just like that restaurant that made me accept rhubarb and fresh mackerel. This perfume has the classic French chic signature, such elegance and subtle elements. If it seems a little unfinished to me, this is probably the reason why I am attracted to it in an irresistible way. I think this is slightly masculine and good for all occasions and seasons. The mariage of citrus, moss, conifer, green, aromatic... so addictive. Bravo, Le Galion.

Green and woody leather in the vein of the classic IBQ bombs.

Very weak and inexpressive fragrance, pleasant but nothing like the smell of leather. If you are looking for a leather fragrance, this will not be the one. Not the slightest resemblance to Bandit. Lasts 1-2 hours on the skin.

Nice, quite rich and elegant. There’s citrus here, maybe leather surrounded by great sophistication. It’s light and rather very classic, but it has character.

Sweetish leather with a hint of florals and moss. Nice, but doess not especially stand out the crowd of leather fragrances.

Smells good. Three parts: Opens like a niche leather with dry woods and scratchy incense. Somewhat brutal compared to phase 2 which is old-school, gentleman-style white floral/amber/leather accord. I am not an expert but i bet an expert could make apt comparisons to some well known leather vintages when Cuir is in this phase. Finally it dries down around 2-3 hours into a soft skin scent, nondescript. As a big fan of Cire Trudon Ernesto scented candles, nothing Leather ever comes close to thrilling me like it does with its' leather/white floral/cumin/cigar smoke accord. I wish I could find something similar in an EDP before I resort to spraying the room spray on my skin.

Opens with Isobutyl Quinoline as the leather note, and elemi which brightens it up and gives a little short lived shimmer. I get a cherry like accord from the mix of the two. The middle brings in the lily for a floral touch, but the base and top are also popping in and out. Base is a very long lasting ambergris, and musk, which appears in a number of Le Galion's fragrances, and really becomes quite addictive. You have to love Isobutyl Quinoline, and ambergris to love this, I happen to, and plan to buy a bottle. Unfortunately Le Galion just raised their 100 ml pricing, but this is the leather I've been looking for, so will bite the bullet.

An arid, dusty, somewhat clay-like leather note with moss and some dry woods. This one feels a bit unfinished to me, more like a leather accord than a fully-fledged perfume.
