But it is more than just a lemony scent, the woods, spices, musk, grapefruit, and vanilla can be detected a few moments after the initial opening. They help in creating a fantastic citrusy dominant fragrance. About 5 minutes into the dry-down the white flowers are noticeable, all tones achieve a more balanced level and the vanilla becomes more prominent adding a touch of sweetness. The most similar fragrance I can think of is Mancera Lemon Line, not identical but very similar and sweeter. Summary: Fresh, high quality, not the best projection but good for a citrus aromatic fragrance, highly versatile, this is a great fragrance for anyone.

Finally tried this and got a small decant. This is heavenly. Soft, sensual, clean and light. VERY unisex. I think this works on certain men, but to me, leans a bit more feminine. But still can work for either sex. Would smell divine on your wife or gf and would drive you crazy. Gallagher Bergamust smells almost exactly like this, except much more synthetic. While this is much more natural. Plus Bergamust has a sea salt or salty skin note that is pretty prevalent, where as this does not. Also, the notes of Bergamust smell sharp and raw and powerful, while in this, they smell understated, soft, clean, round and heavenly. I would also say D&G Light Blue is in the same realm. Dior Cologne is a reach, but in the same vein, but is much more citrus forward and sharper than this. Versace Man Eau Fraiche is also in the same realm as this (musk/citrus). Not "the same", but similar. And that is MUCH cheaper, has much better projection, lasts longer. But it obviously isn't as soft and cozy and beautiful as this. This fragrance is kind of one dimensional though, all I get is a soft musk with the less forward Bergamot. And it stays that way the entire time. As everyone else has mentioned, the performance is a major disappointment and for the price is criminal! Lasts 3-6 hrs maybe and sits close to the skin the entire time. It cracks me up how many boutique or high end fragrances have SUCH poor performance, yet charge criminal prices for their product. And how cheaper fragrances have much better performance. It should be the exact opposite. But, I have to say, after all these years of wanting to try it, it totally lives up to the hype. Absolutely beeeeeautiful scent that is so clean, so soft, so cozy and surprisingly very sexy. If I could ever get my significant other to wear fragrances, and she same into a room wearing this, her clothes would be on the floor in 2 seconds flat with my lips on her neck ;)

I haven’t smelled Commodity Moss. However, to me, this occupies an interesting space between Thierry Mugler’s Cologne and Versace Eau Fraiche. That might sound boring, but it’s executed with the smoothness of Creed’s Original Vetiver. So the final product is super clean, refined, and extremely well blended. It smells pleasant and expensive. The final result is reminiscent of an orange dominant take on Original Vetiver, with a touch of the bergamot brightness of Eau Fraiche. The orange blossom note is executed so well that it’s hard to tell where the bergamot ends and the orange blossom begins. Perfect harmony. It does all this without being sweet, which I really appreciate. The vetiver plays a smooth and luxurious role. It’s noticeable as a support to the citrus, but is never sharp or overwhelming. I think even a Vetiver hater could still enjoy what it does in B22. A clean and subtle grassiness that ties it all together. Performance is quiet, yet persistent, and not what I would expect for a citrus dominant scent. Rather than an obnoxious and quickly fading burst, B22 is more even keeled. It’s really nice but not quite as impressive to me as Original Vetiver. For the money, I would personally go that route. But this is still a great scent in its own right

Opens with a beautiful citrus. The top notes go in and out between Bergamot and Grapefruit. It also has hints of white floral notes, but not any specific flower. The mid takes a more musky turn as the citrus notes slowly fade away. It is a clean white musk, nothing animalic. In the mid, there also woody notes that start to appear, again not a clear woody note, but a cross between Cedar and Vetiver. In the dry down, you are left with a hint of citrus and even lesser white florals. Vetiver is the dominant note in the dry down, with musk playing second fiddle. Bergamote 22 is a very unique and artistic composition of a citrus perfume. Every note plays their part perfectly. It might remind you of some perfumes of the past due to how commonly some of the notes are used in perfumery (ex: bergamot, musk, vetiver) but the perfume itself is unique and beautiful enough to be worthy of your collection, especially if you are a lover of citrus. I will admit that the price was a hard pill to swallow, especially considering it's somewhat lackluster performance and longevity. But if you are a Fraghead (I am) then this is a masterpiece of a citrus that deserves your respect, so at the very least give it a try.

The most approachable scent by Le Labo. Unlike Another 13, which I apparently have anosmia to, this scent is bold and only requires a few spritz for me and lasts a good while (6 hours). I think this actually has good longevity for a citrus scent. There's a reason why citrus is typically only seen in the top notes. I wanted a good, solid citrus forward scent and I'm happy to have this in my collection. Truly unisex and unlike several other of their scents, this is ACTUALLY a Bergamot based scent. I'm looking forward to wearing this come summer. The only safe blind buy of Le Labo, imo. I thought Another 13 would be a safe blind but apparently there are several people, like me, who can't smell anything except the alcohol when it comes out. I'm so glad I paid $270 for a bottle of alcohol! Ok, that's not totally true. I get a little musk and ambrette but apparently my dad smells sweet flowers. The good thing is it works for a work scent since I work in a hospital, same with Bergamote since it's a green, clean, citrus scent. I can also layer Bergamote with Another and that works for me. Again, this actually has good longevity for a citrus scent and it truly leans neither feminine or masculine.

Not even gonna bother with the opening and initial dry down notes. All the other reviews get it right. Instead, I have show some love to the absolute base of this scent...maybe even just the final hour before it disappears completely. THE BEST part of this scent is the tail end of it's longevity (I'd say the 6 hour mark). On my skin this completely transforms into what I'd consider my favourite skin scent ever. Plain and simple. It's warm, sweet, musky. Think another 13 but less sharp— warmer, gentle, and still just as present. Not just "you but better," but like a hug you never want to let go of. Getting into warm sheets in your childhood home when you visit once or twice a year. It's incredible. Sadly, because I don't think this was the original intent for this fragrance, it's fleeting and secondary to everything else Bergamote 22 does (which it still does well). If Le Labo is ever able to capture THIS and THIS alone, I'll buy it for the rest of my life, I don't even care about the price.

I adore this. It is a beautifully done fresh summery citrus delight. Orange blossom, bergamot, petit grain anchored with a vanilla and an amber accord base? Perfume of my dreams! However, I struggle with the price point a bit. It's a beautifully put together perfume but how innovative can you really be with this scent profile? There are so many equally gorgeous citrus scents for a fraction of the cost. I'm a lot more choosy when it comes to paying at this level. The scent must be so good I simply can't live without it in order to pay $500 for a FB. In this case I can find similar for 1/5 the price. Longevity not good enough. I may buy a full bottle but only once. Still, it's gorgeous and probably my favourite Le Labo.I see it's getting lots of day votes and not many for night -in my humble opinion this is the scent you want to put on in the summer when you get back from the beach, shower and get ready to go out for dinner. It's a perfect summer evening scent!

I still remember 5+ years ago when I first started being really into niche fragrances. Bergamote 22 to me smelled like an expensive, classy young lady (I know it's unisex), and I fell in love with it every time I wore it. I didn’t have the budget to get the full bottle at that time since I was more into sampling hundreds of niche fragrances. Bergamote 22 was the ONLY citrus that I liked. I used up like 4 samples that I got from Le Labo, and this is still in my top 3 most complimented today. I now own several Le Labo full-size bottles, including the exclusives, and Bergamote 22 is still a masterpiece in my opinion. It just works so well with my skin chemistry and lasts super long!! 2-3 days on clothes after washing and projects very well IMO. I do 2 sprays every time, and people can still smell me (unlike other fragrances in the same house). I'm more of a musky girl so this holds a special place in my collection.

scent: 8/10 longevity: 6/10 sillage: 6/10 value: 3/10 I first bought this for my birthday to bring and wear for a trip out to Honolulu thinking it would be the perfect setting for a fragrance like this. Such a bright and citrusy bergamot note opening, it's fresh, it's zesty, it's invigorating. This opening lasts up to 2-3 hours onto my skin and dries down to straight vetiver. It's not bad as it comes but much more simple if simple is your thing. I ended up selling the rest of my 50ml bottle at half volume because I thought the lack of projection and longevity could be due to the lack of chemistry my skin has with B22. A year later, I find myself revisiting this scent and it beams me back to when I was in Honolulu for vacation. Maybe it's the association of being on vacation on a lush tropical island but I forgot how good this scent was and maybe I just have yet to find a part of me being okay with skin scents.

This is my absolute favorite perfume forever. I have been collecting perfume forever. I've gone through phases. I've worn perfume for me and for others. Nothing compares. The Bergamot uplifts my mood, it's citrusy and fresh, yet WARM and well-rounded. This perfume tells a story. It's sweet, it's fresh, it's spicy. To me it's ozonic, it smells firey, but not like actually fire/smoke, if that makes sense. This is a perfect signature scent for someone who wants to smell sexy but not seductive, warm/kind but with an edge, approachable with mass appeal and yet totally unique. THE BEST. MOST AMAZING. SMELL. I wish I didn't love it so much because it's so expensive, but I do, and while I may not have electricity this month, I will smell electric. WHO I PICTURE THIS ON: me?!

Bergamote 22 is THE BEST bergamote fragrance and my favourite from Le Labo. It’s juicy, zesty and fresh like you’ve just torn open the bergamot and grapefruit with softly sweet orange blossom and petitgrain with grassy dry vetiver and cotton wool type musk. It’s like spraying on juicy yellow, green and white sunlight. I share this with my boyfriend but on me, it’s much more sweetly white floral and feminine but on him it’s a greener musky citrus. Our friend couldn’t believe we were wearing the same fragrance as we smelt so different. So it’s versatile and unisex, so you may amp-up the white florals like on me or keep it fresher and more masculine, depending on skin chemistry. My only issue is that it lasts 5-6 hours and I want it to be endless.

I tried many Le Labo fragrances. I had several decants and few samples. Yet this is the only one that made me feel something. I love citrus notes, and this is such a beautiful bergamot that it was meant to be. I finished 15ml size, and made up my mind to go for a full bottle when prices went up by 50 EUR. Yes, longevity is not great (2-3 hours), but I bought it with a thought to have something to go for a 1 hour walk in summer when it is super hot. Or as a fragrance to spray in the afternoon if you meet someone for a short period of time and want to smell clean and fresh. The best performance and beauty came through on a very rainy yet humid day. I was walking in the park, it was raining very heavily with temperature around 28 degrees.

The king of versatility. The mix of bergamote, petitgrain, vetiver, and musk (and I get a LOT of musk from this), results in an incredibly fresh fragrance with plenty of masculinity. The musk also makes this smell a bit timeless, as it adds masculinity in the same way a fragrance like the original Acqua di Gio did. Many fresh fragrances today will use pepper or ambroxan to add a masculine element, but Bergamote 22 avoids both of them in favor of a more traditional approach. It works. As others have noted, the price can be a sore spot, but this is also very high quality and very wearable. If there could be such a thing as a fragrance worth $300 for 100ml, a fragrance that smells THIS good and can be worn literally anywhere might be it.

Gorgeous. It's quite close to Guerlain's Bergamote Calabria, but has better longevity, and the spiced bergamot is paired with a beautiful fresh foliage (petitgrain and orange blossom?) note over a faint but lovely semi-sweet vetiver-musk base - the vetiver is what makes it for me. Possibly the best bergamot-centric perfume I've come across so far, at least when you take into account longevity - it sticks around so much longer than the other good ones I've tried. Not sure I can pay Le Labo prices for a light perfume like this, though, especially since I already have the Guerlain. Also, although it's definitely unisex, I do think it might work even better on a man's skin.

Where do I begin? I had the opportunity to sample this fragrance for the past week. I wore this to my graduation, on the beach (which is the name of one of my favorite colognes by LV - but that's not the point of this review), dinners, and simpler relaxed days. When I wear this perfume, I feel transported into the body of the great Josh Allen, and I'm slinging the pigskin to some kids I met on the beach at Isla Verde. It's welcoming but not blunt. It's passionate but not lustful. It's the right amount of spunk with every smell. If you wanna be that guy without saying you wanna be that guy, this is the juice for you. 9.5/10.

This was by far my favorite fragrance in the le Labo boutique; bright, uplifting bergamot with an almost oceanic and ozonic tea note and some woodiness in the background to hold it all together. I would absolutely buy this fragrance if the longevity lived up to the quality of the scent and the price tag. At least on my skin, it was done projecting at all within 2 hours and completely gone after 3, and it wasn’t even hot outside; around 85F. You would think Le Labo would figure their longevity out after the majority of their fragrances have this same issue. So disappointing that such a beautiful smell doesn’t preform.

I feel like le labo fragrances get a bad rap for being simple but I think it's quite special to have something like bergamote 22 that smells good any time on anyone. Quite often I want to wear a gentle pleasant scent that isn't gonna blast everyone around me and follow me around for 12 hours, and this is one of those. I can find bergamot quite tiresome because it's a very common note in fragrance but I think its lovely in this, and even with a fairly large fragrance collection I find myself reaching for this one often. It do be overpriced tho good lord :D

Bergamote 22 is a zingy refreshing citrus fragrance. I pick up on the dryness and bitterness of the vetiver and petitgrain, which I personally like and think complements the citruses. I would place this in the same fragrance pool as The Yulong by Armani Prive, but not exactly the same since this doesn't have that distinct tea note. The orange blossom here adds femininity and blends smoothly with the citruses. I've just added this to my collection and will be wearing this as an easy reach for summer!

A perfect blend of orange blossom's and bergamot. With cedar and vetiver rounding out the sharp edges. Simple yet refined and elegant. You can't expect much with complexity here, as it is first and foremost a citrus based scent. I usually steer clear from Le Labo fragrances, as I find them to be often ineptly crafted and overpriced for what they truly are. But I find this to shine beautifully, especially in hotter temps. Performance is great, and those around me seem to really enjoy it on top of it.

Bergamote 22 is perfect. I would change absolutely nothing about the formulation. It’s my all time favorite bergamot perfume. Juicy, realistic citrus with a clean, light woody musk propping it up. This wins as the longest lasting citrus perfume I’ve tried thus far. I’m sad to have finished my decant because I’m not ready to shell out so much for the full size. But unless I can find another bergamot perfume that even comes close to this beauty, someday I’ll have to cave and buy it.

I sampled and bought it - the top notes hooked me - sparkling citrus, light and airy, then it simmered to a soft fragrance that melts into the skin and smells clean and fresh. Wish it lasted longer but after a few hours but I can still sense it. I do reapply as needed. Pricey? Yes, but soo good. P.S. Cannot STAND the smell of Another 13 or Santal so it was a miracle that I tried this as a 3rd sample at Nordstroms.

Such a gorgeous fragrance! Signature scent worthy. I've been wearing this non-stop. Starts off with a bright lime/orange citrus and develops into a lighter citrus vibe with a hint of vetiver and white floral. So beautiful and perfectly unisex. I overspray on my pulse points, clothes and hair to extend wear. On occasion I will layer Bergamote 22 with Neroli 36. I also like layering this with the Hinoki body cream.

Beautiful, simple but too much so, as some comments mentioned it’s like the pith part of a grape fruit, and I LOVE the bitterness that’s present in the pith, the orange blossom is present here, but without overthrowing, I also detect neroli, the sharp type present in 4711 Cologne or neroli portofino, but it’s still so soft and so realistic that I don’t mind that at all. Very refreshing and almost fizzy at times.

I thought I wasn't a fan of fresh, summery fragrances but this one is SO lovely. It's citrusy and slightly green without smelling like cut grass or cooking herbs. I keep going back to my arm to sniff it! I'm hoping I can find a good dupe because it's so expensive, but if I'm not able to I'm definitely buying a full bottle. It's truly unisex; either gender would be able to wear this comfortably.

Best in Show citrus fragrance. Yes, it is pricy. But 5 sprays of Bergamote 22 and you will enjoy a crispy, sparkling lime-green-citrus top (with a little jasmine), and an absolutely picture perfect finish of powdery vetiver, sweet vanilla, and the sharpness of cedar that will be with you a full 10+ hours. 90% of the complaints below amount to "it's so good but it's expensive! 😠"

This one is one of my favorite everyday scents. It’s very fresh, the bergamot notes are very prominent, yet it has something special to it. It’s definitely on the realistic side. I bought a full-sized bottle of Neroli one from Le Labo as my Bergamot 22 started to run out, but I still bought myself reaching for Bergamot. It’s just a very nice clean scent you can’t go wrong with.

This is my goldilocks fragrance for cosy days spent pottering around at home. It’s got juuust enough musk and vanilla so that’s it’s comforting without compromising the freshness of the bergamot. The vetiver adds a nice touch too. It reminds me of wicker furniture warmed in the sun. Such an easy wear for all manner of occasions and probably the fragrance I reach for most.

I finally found my signature scent!. This is an excellent fragrance for those who have explored complex niche perfumery but want to settle down for something that is not overpowering and can be enjoyed year-round. I am also content with the longevity and sillage this fragrance provides. I'd rate this a 9.5/10 overall and I do enjoy it more than Santal 33.

Probably my fav citrus from labo, I really love how prominent the grapefruit note is. I enjoy how fizzy and sparkly this is on initial spray, kind of reminds me of squirt soda, in a good way. I also like the dry down, as I get some of those amber and cedar notes after an hour or so. This scent is also great in the shower gel, trust me

I have a 100ml bottle and love this scent. It’s maybe my most used fragrance. It’s smells like orange skin and the orangieness stays with the scent the whole time. I found the rest of the notes, vetiver, cedar, the slightest touch of vanilla and make it mature and more serious. It’s great and I wear it all year long.

perhaps the first, if not only citrus based fragrance that lasts this long, sillage is decent, photorealistic smell of the bergamot and its rind, fresh, I bought Jardins de bergamot intense in order to compare them, smells almost the same but le Labo has a better performance and smells slightly better. I love this.

All occasions freshie. From chilling in the beach to an intense finance closing meeting in March. I particularly interested in the mix of bitter bergamot and sweet neroli from start to.mid and the earthy closing of vetiver just adding more dimension than "only" citursy. Stays surprisingly enough time on my skin.

Bergamote 22 zaps me into believing I'm ready for a busy work day. Lasts a good 4 hours before fading into a nice musk and vetiver scent. This is my favorite Le Labo to date. I prefer Tacit by Aesop bc it's a little more intriguing, but B22 is an outstanding fresh citrus with decent performance.

The most realistic citrus fragrance I have ever smelled. Bergamote 22 is a simple but gorgeous fragrance. I get moderate projection and moderate longevity like most people. Yet, it is one of my favorites in my collection. Is it overpriced? Yes. Is there anything like it out there? Not really.

I love citrus and I really really enjoy this. to me I really get the bergamot and citrus and not much else other than subtle woody notes but I really enjoy this. It really reminds me of the salt and stone bergamot and hinoki scent. that said the longevity was much shorter than expected.

I see a lot of reviews mentioning the citrus which I find surprising. All I can smell after the first 2 minutes is white floral. I love the scent and wish it would last longer. For the price, I don’t think I would buy it again. I’ll search for another soft white floral fragrance.

It is unlike any other perfume that contains bergamot. This bergamot is something else. In one word, it lifts the mood. It goes very well with the heat and humidity of summer, and is romantic in the fall. Yes, it is expensive, but every beautiful thing has its price.

Big bottle worthy! I love the burst of citrus and the grapefruit here does not smell like underarm on me. I live in the very hot tropics and this just cuts through the heat and sweat. I wish there was a shampoo and shower gel of this I could get my hands on.

Woody Bergamot. This is super lash and green fragrance. Smelling this, I can vividly see dark green colour. It is also very velvety and almost 3D, in a way it structured. This is so rich and natural smelling, lasts forever on my skin. I am in love with it!

It is expensive for what it is - doesn’t last long on its own but with layering can be improved somewhat. I’ve been layering with Escentric molecules no.1 and it works - the woody notes from the EM smooth any sharpness and adds some longevity

Smells really fresh! Perfect for summer and daytime, though performance is quite disappointing, I only get around 2-3 hours, then it completely disappears. For the price, and the fact that this is an EDP, I can't justify this performance.

this was love at first sniff for sure. started off using the body wash and hand soap at a lovely hotel then moved on to getting the perfume. if you can imagine the most invigorating while also relaxing citrus fragrance, this would be it.

I love this one, I can see why it’s a fan favorite. This one shines in Spring and Summer. I’m not a big fan of Le Labo, but the few I own, I really like. This is one of them. I’d say this is a safe blind buy and perfect for a gift. 🎁

Oh waaw, this one is really good! For some reason, I immediately get the atmosphere of a summer barbecue. This seems like the ideal perfume to wear to a summer evening party. And the dry down. Woooh! It. Is. De. Vi. Ne.

Love at first sniff. I'm late to the party but I'm glad I'm here. This is my favourite summer scent. Intoxicating,classy,fresh but not too cold. The wood and floral balance this out. I could wear this anytime anywhere.

Oooh, fresh bergamot that's kept fresh with the brightness of grapefruit citrus notes. super in love with the opening. maybe a little boring to me, but really inoffensive and substantial for a day at work.

This smells so refreshing and uplifting, will have to get that for my husband for the summer. Clean from the shower. Simple but very good. Sometimes you don’t need complicated to be good.

It's a love for me. Just a perfect summer, warm weather beauty. I layer it with the B-22 body lotion. If you don't like compliments, don't wear it. Lasts all day.

I love this at first sniff its not a simple bergamot fragrance and i dont understand to compare with versace its much more complex and smell incredibly good

Feels like curling up with a lemon tea and a good book. It has a very linear dry down and has relatively poor longevity, but otherwise a nice scent
