Lavande 31

Perhaps one of my favorite scent profiles of any fragrance. Maybe not the most unique in terms of notes listed, but I do think that the classic "barbershop" notes pair really well with Le Labo's modern synthetic signatures. The combination produces something that feels bright and soapy, but not sterile. As a guy in his 20s, this fragrance feels like a solution to the dilemma of wanting to smell classy and mature but not smell like an old man. For one, the lavender here is very light; it's perceptible but it doesn't stick out. If it did stick out, the fragrance might become a bit darker and more herbal. Meanwhile, the bergamot and neroli help emphasize the brightness and the tonka provides a bit more sweetness and depth, all supported by the very fresh and modern-feeling amber/ambroxan/musk note which seems to be present in most Le Labo fragrances. For me, the only drawbacks are the Le Labo prices, and that it doesn't project as well as I'd like. In my experience though, even if it doesn't last super long in the air, it does last quite long on the skin, and the scent can linger on fabric for days and even weeks (one of my favorite sweatshirts smells like it now after having worn the fragrance and the sweatshirt for a few days in a row).

I've found myself reaching for this one more often than I thought I would, it's a really great scent that got an undeserved amount of hate in my opinion. Opening note is a burst of lavender and citrus, obviously lemon rind and bergamot with neroli and black tea undergirding the fragrance. It's very well balanced, like freshly laundered clothes in the french countryside flitting in the breeze. Lavender is such a cheap, ubiquitous scent it could easily be accused of giving Fabuloso vibes but it steers far from that territory---smelling like the most expensive lavender detergent money can buy. On the drydown, the neroli and lavender really shine while oakmoss and tonka (It's subtle, but it's there) jump in, to keep that clean-smelling vibe going. When these two start to kick in though the fragrance goes super deep into vetiver territory, giving it a very masculine smell that has gotten me compliments on the street. The lavender never leaves, giving you that fresh clean smell the whole way with a tiny kick of citrus still lingering all the way through. That's the best part too, this fragrance lasts forever because of the lavender, tea, and tonka notes. I can easily go a full day without needing to respray.

I just bought this fragrance a month after smelling it for the first time in store, just browsing the shelves. If the mixed reviews are confusing you too, but I think it all boils down to the lavender, citruses, and musk. I personally think they blend really well and in a sophisticated, luxurious manner. But I guess other people interpret those notes as soap/detergent, all-purpose cleaner and grandma vibes respectively. All the other notes are definitely there but they're more so harmonizing in the background than standing out, and I think that's what makes it a sophisticated, elegant, yet a compliment getter. I really agree with some of the other reviews here calling it the perfect young and modern take of a mature, classy, old gentleman vibe. I honestly feel ripped off that I have to leave it alone for at least a month cos some dude mixed it all in a beaker behind bars for three minutes. I at least got to spray it on myself before macerating, and I can at least say the opening quickly fades into that rich blend of the notes, and then gets darker after some time on the skin. The lavender on here feels more like a backdrop to everything else, from opening to late-stage, but in the best way possible.

After reading the reviews on this fragrance, I’ve noticed most people compare the scent to fresheners/cleaners and voice their disappointment. My experience however, couldn’t be further from this. I am constantly asked what I am wearing whenever I wear this fragrance- some even used the words ‘heavenly’ and ‘divine’ to describe how wonderful I smell, and I have been stopped in the street or at work several times. Projection is moderate, but not modest, and I would say longevity is 4-6 hours with a spray at pulse points. I’m not going to pretend to know about notes and dry down etc, but the general vibe is clean, expensive and seductive- don’t ask me how. It’s worth noting that I tried so hard to wear Le Labo’s Santal 33 without achieving its desired projection of ‘cool’- a colleague of mine told me it was ‘strong’ and ‘odd’. I think like a lot of higher-end fragrances, Le Labo really depends on your skin’s chemical reaction to really make it work. This is now my go-to scent and I cringe at how I wore santal 33 for so long despite it clearly not suiting me. Lavande 31 has given me what I was missing from Santal 33.

I was disappointed in Myrrhe 55 when it came out, but Le Labo came correct with this release. This one really surprised me because it smells like an Italian Colonia but with stellar performance. I'd even venture to say that if you don't like Italian style colognes you will hate this fragrance. This smells like something Acqua Di Parma would release, but more concentrated. It opens with a BRIGHT, heavenly blast of citruses, followed quickly by neroli. The lavender doesn't surface right away and when it does, it's not powerful, but soapy clean. They didn't use a heavy hand with the lavender here. The drydown smells like a like a high quality soap along and lines of Colonia Essenza but it lasts forever. I washed my hands and took a shower and I can still smell it almost 10 hours later. I picture guy on Lake Como wearing khaki shorts, and a white dress shirt. Very soapy and clean, and perfect for the heat.I like it strongly, but I already have a dozen or so soapy fragrances, so I won't be purchasing unless I come across a nice deal. Scent 9/10 Performance 8/10

Went to Le Labo store for the first time in NYC because in my city there isn’t a store. Anyways, I smelled the whole lineup. From 1 all the way up. Out of all of them, this was the standout for me. Absolutely stunning ! And the dry down is just mouth watering. I love the dry down more than the first initial spray. It’s actually beautiful, I don’t get the resemblance of “this smells like a grandmas soap” or “smells like a grandma”. If THIS smells like a grandma soap then please tell me which soaps the grandmas are getting because I’d bathe myself in that soap. Don’t listen to the negative talks on this fragrance. It’s an absolute beauty of a scent and it doesn’t get better than this for lavender based scents. You mainly smell the lavender but it’s done in such a way I don’t even know how to explain You’d have to go and try it out yourself. But this is an absolute banger from Le Labo I’m so glad I discovered it because I’ve been on the hunt to get one ever since.

My first perfumes were Atkinsons English Lavender and Agua Lavanda Puig. Therefore, Lavender will always have a special place in my heart. This release is not a conventional Lavender fragrance. The main accord shares protagonism with Neroli, Musk and Tonka Bean in the backgound. Also, the Lavender note in this EDP is very soft and herbaceous. The Camphorous, Floral and Sweet nuances usually associated with this accord are toned down in here. It's a simple composition, but its contrasting notes create a nice evolution: a fresh, citrusy, floral, bitter and zesty opening, an aromatic heart and a musky, slightly sweet and spicy finale. It does have a soapy vibe, but it doesn't actually smell like soap nor laundry detergent. Unisex leaning slightly masculine, office-safe, with around 7 hours of longevity and a moderate projection, so you might want to apply and re-apply right before putting on your clothes. Definetely a nice twist on this scent profile.

I had this sample for months before I tried it. It was recommended by the woman at the Le Labo counter when I bought Neroli 36, but at the time I dismissed it as I was a little lavender-averse as a fragrance note; I like lavender for bath salts, I love the Lush Sleepy lotion and bath bombs, but to me "lavender" meant bathtime and lotion and felt a little bland. Fast forward to today, when I finally got around to trying Lavande 31 just out of curiosity... and I'm very pleasantly surprised by how fresh, clean, airy, and uplifting this is! Rather than the spa-like, herbal, slightly medicinal lavender that I had envisioned, this is light and very, very clean. Soapy in a good way. 100% unisex. I'd love this on anyone. Neroli is a note I already love, and this combo is delicious. Maybe it's not groundbreaking - as others have stated - but it is VERY good. Might be grabbing a full bottle of this one, soon.

A clean yet sweet Lavender/Tonka is what I get. It's absolutely beautiful and my favorite among Le Labo's line (I haven't tried the city exclusives though*)... it smells like a modern Lavender and not just your typical aromatic essential oil type of note that has been in a lot of Lavender perfumes of the past. The neroli & tonka are really rounding Lavender's edges and making it an easy-wear anywhere type of perfume. This could be a signature scent, and worn by anyone, whatever sex or age. It is lovely and comforting, clean and relaxed but also put together... Reminds me a lot of Lush's Lavender/Vanilla fragrance (I forget the name) but Le Labo's is obviously more well-composed and smells higher quality (even though I also love Lush's too)... This is a masterpiece to me. 10/10 I will be buying the full-size bottle soon.

i initially expected not to like it as i’m not huge on lavender and figured this would be a bit too masculine for me but oh my god its kind of perfect. its perfectly unisex, clean and fresh. sometimes when i do my laundry i’ll lay in the hot pile of freshly clean clothes on my bed and this smells like that. like clean, fresh warm laundry cocooning me in a nest of comfort. its ever-so masculine in the best way. i can see how it leans too masculine for some but for me this is like the perfect soap, its got a vintage feel with the powder. idk i could go on... definitely sample and DEFINITELY GO EASY WITH DABBING/SPRAYING a little goes a long way. if you over do it you will get a headache (one dab was good for me, two is a little loud and 3 lowkey gave me a headache) lol! maybe not a blind buy as it isnt for everyone

Was out of town and decided to go to a Le Labo counter since I don’t have one in my city. Walked in and decided to smell Lavande 31 first since it’s their newest release. To be completely honest, I thought I wasn’t going to like this fragrance since I’m not a big lavender fan, and fully expected this to smell like those classic barber shop, machoman colognes but it’s the absolute opposite. This fragrance is exactly what I’ve been searching for for monthssss. It smells like soap, but luxury soap, it smells like someone who just got out the shower on a summer-y hot day, and sometimes, I just want to smell like that. Nice balance of neroli, lavender and amber, to make a very clean blend. Leans slightly feminine but definitely unisex. Can’t wait to rock this in the summer, 8/10 !!

After smelling this in the airport I decided to purchase a sample (as Le Labo is obviously very expensive). I find that the initial spray is quite different to the dry down. At first, it smells quite sweet to me but later develops into quite a masculine, natural lavender scent. It is very clean, fresh and soapy which I love but might not be to everyone's taste. I'm still a bit undecided about this one. I am obsessed with the scent but I'm not sure if I'd continue wearing it on me...I usually opt for quite feminine scents and I don't know if I'm ready to go THIS unisex. I'm also not sure if I want to smell so soapy...and for the price I'm unsure if I'd buy a larger bottle. But I'll sit on it! If I can start leaning into more unisex scents I think I'd definitely purchase more.

Well, I have quite a few perfumes, and my guy usually says “you smell good”, but when I wore Lavande for the first time? He said “there’s no way anyone could dislike this”. This one was such a surprise find. It was so meh when I sniffed the cap at the store, but the nice lady at the counter offered me a sample and OH BOY it was pure magic when I applied it on my cardigan. It’s been almost a week and I can still smell it, and it’s such a beautiful scent. Clean, crisp and herby. NOTHING like how it smelled on the cap or paper. I immediately went back to the store the second day and grabbed a bottle. It’s starting to make me wonder what other le labo juices am I missing out?? I would NEVER have picked up Lavande if I didn’t actually wear it. Just BEAUTIFUL. So happy with it.

Le Labo is a great brand in my opinion. That's because the chemistry works perfectly on my skin. I wanted to mention that because how this particular fragrance smells to you is in direct response to how the chemistry works on your skin. I sprayed this for the first time tonight and it smells fantastic. In fact it smells so good my mother actually complimented and wants her own bottle. Something she never says. I have over 200 fragrances and 300 samples. Just to give you an idea on how picky she is. It's sweet fresh and aromatic. Very safe and very approachable. There's not much else to say here but sometimes that's a good thing. The crystal collector. The Reiki master. The plant Parent.

Beautiful scent! Upon spraying this, I immediately smelled my top 3 favorite notes - lavender, neroli and bergamot - so it was a no-brainer buy for me. It is a fresh, happy and relaxing scent, which reminds me of weekend mornings when I have no work stress to think about and I can be myself all day. At the drydown, the lavender becomes more apparent in a soapy skin scent way and the tonka beans kick in to add a calming vibe. Gorgeous! Projection and longevity are both good and way better than my Le Labo fave Another 13. I was really surprised to see low ratings and bad reviews for this but as a freshie lover, this has easily climbed to my shelf of favorites and blind reach bottles.

Very nice! Some people have said it's more neroli than lavender, but I get a big, big, big velvety lavender here. Smells quite natural - I can almost picture that powdery/oily sensation of handling real lavender florets, and crumbling them between your fingers. It's very bright and clean in the opening, but it settles to a heavier than expected scent. Way more grounded and earthy than anything from the "Aqua" line of MFK, for example. Lavender hued, velvety, sweet, milky, metallic, a little green, fresh, sagebrush. Down the line unisex. Not a fougere. Extremely well done. No perfumer listed, but smells a bit like something Maurice Roucel would do. Good performance too! 4/5

this scent is such a beautiful, realistic and aromatic lavender. on initial spray this is very, very bright and almost screechy, leaning masculine. after it dries down, the tonka and amber seem to level it out and make it almost creamy, I guess this is the soapy quality that many others have mentioned. this layers absolutely beautiful with any vanilla heavy perfume, almost like a lavender sugar cookie! this lasts all day on me and is super good for those anxious days since the lavender in this is so realistic so it has a bit of a calming effect (but not essential-oil like). this is beautiful before bed or for super cold days where the sun is still shining!

Very beautifully composed. Very masculine to me. Strong floral / lavender up (rich and layered, not cloying at all) front but balanced with gentle spice and bitterness. Picks up a musky quality in the extended dry down. The lavender stays throughout. Got my discovery set sample to last at least a week’s worth of wears. Doesn’t require more than 2 sprays. Great projection. Noticed at work with strong scent trail. Lasted 9am through end of work. Very wearable and loved by women. Along with Aventus and Hibiscus Mahajad, perhaps the most complimented scents I’ve worn. I always say I wear what I wear for me, but it doesn’t hurt. Will be a full bottle purchase.

This is my everyday scent - clean, inoffensive, and a unique take on lavender. I wear it to work and home/sleep. Smells like a hug. Just based on the description it may come off as a softer, more intimate scent, but I have been told that I had a scent trail. On my skin it is very musky, the sharp opening goes away pretty soon. This takes me back to my childhood going swimming in the summer and the smell after you shower. Not really chlorine like but basically if you mixed fresh and aldehydic together. I am in love, a cozy warm fresh fragrance. I find it a bit similar to L'eau Papier by Diptyque but this one has better projection and sillage.

Received a sample of this and really didn’t think much,... but then I kept catching irresistible notes of it throughout the day and I was hooked. I ordered a 50ml bottle which arrived within a couple of days. I decided to wear it to work and have never received more compliments and questions about what I was wearing. While perfumes are very subjective and project differently on different people, this one really works on me; it projects well without being too strong and lasts for hours. It’s clean and comforting, yet a bit sexy and intriguing. I own Santal 33, Rose 31, Lys 41 and Neroli 36- none come close to the perfection of Lavande 31

This is a guilty pleasure. Picture thr old money from greece who has beige and monochrome aesthetic with slick bun or slick pompadour haor cut for man. The opening is neroli and lavender, nothing synthetic, very seamless blended, very soft like a luxurious soap and lotion which lingers intensely on the skin. Very soapy clean perfume. Unfortunately the projection range is limited, intimate. Though it is intimate, it stays moderately around 6 hours on the skin and a bit longer on clothes. For the poor projection it is kind of overprice but what can I say, I like classy clean scent as if your own skin radiate pleasant odor.

Beautiful spring/summer daytime fragrance! Heavy on the neroli/white flower and bergamot in the opening and then after about 30 minutes some of the lavender comes out! Decent longevity and okay projection too. Not a challenging fragrance at all, and outside of the price point, I'd call this a blind buy if you love citruses and white floral fragrances. As someone who loves Le Labo fragrances, it's tough for me to say that I think there are better options out there strictly because of the price point. It's not a unique fragrance by any means and I think you could spend a fraction of the money and find something similar.

I love clean laundry scents, and this fragrance makes me smell like a warm bed. It was love at first scent, I got mines in the Vancouver store. It lasts 8 hours on me and I got compliments the whole day! People stopped me twice to ask what I was wearing and that usually never happens to me. The next day I paired it with a spritz of Gaiac 10 and TRUST ME when I say it smells HEAVENLY. That combo lasted 10 hours on me and I did a couple hours of errands/chores as well. Girlies, get your hands on this one! I also think this would make a man smell cuddly and irresistable.

Lavande 31 : first time blind buying a le labo fragrance online, what could go wrong I love lavender scents, the notes hit all the boxes on what I like.Well I was surprised when I smelled a lemony powdery detergent, HATED IT. Put it back in the box and put it away, I just came back to it in the beginning of fall it’s been sitting in the box in my closet and it has transformed, the screechiness is gone it’s still a detergent type scent but more reminiscent of a clean barbershop. It’s softened around the edges and I’m in love. Lesson learned LET IT MACERATE!!!

This may smell like just soap on paper or even after you first spray it on; but it turns into the ultimate clean/dirty addictive soap candy drug that I have worn incessantly since initially dismissing it. The lavender/neroli/tonka combo is hard to put in words and you have to spray it on - not dab, and you have to wait. Once it’s settles on skin, it lasts all day and part of the next day. It’s pretty linear, but the dry down may have less citrus and more amber/tonka. I’ve smelled this before, and it is not the most original combo, but it is a masterpiece.

Bleached lavender. Opening - cold minerals and washing powder (metalic lavender and neroli) Mid - private indoor swimming pool (mineral notes, medicinal dried lavender, ambroxan) Base- fluffy bleached towels (tonka, amber, flashes of leftover washing powder) Starts cold ends warm, clean throughout. Key word clean. Not very traditional in style, the tonka comes across like a wink to more traditional lavenders, but just a wink. More a scent than a perfume. Not for everyone, but unlikely to offend those around you. Good longevity for a fresh lavender.

It incredible how subjective fragrance is. I think this is one of the best that I have smelled from Le Labo. I got a sample from them. It smells very clean and I do pick up on the lavender eventually. It just smells really good and I got about 8 hours longevity from it on my skin. The projection was arms length so not bad. My teenage daughter who normally could care less about any fragrance I wear actually said it smelled good as I walked by. Seems like this will get some compliments. I see wearing this for any occasion and any time of year.

I am so impressed by this. I don't know what I was expecting, but it definitely was not this. It's a fragrance that you can wear year round and would be a great signature scent. These seem like common notes, but as I wear it, I realize I don't own anything like it in my collection. I can smell every note but the star of the show is never overpowered. They all compliment the lavander beautifully. This was the second Le Labo fragrance I got to try and the first i have really enjoyed. I can't wait to try more!

Such an incredible perfume, I started wearing it to work as I wanted to move away from the Santal 33 but as quickly become my new favourite winter scent it's one of the perfume has got me the most compliments as well. It starts off very strong and has a very detergent smell but the drydown I think it's very comparable to SantAL 33 if not betteR. I bought my bottle from eBay where is a lot cheaper for 120 kids for the hundred mil definitely worth buying and will be adding to my list of favourites

It is indeed a lavender scent, make no mistake, which is based on a slightly soapy/clean musk drydown. There is nothing to write home about. If you're looking for a unique lavender scent, try CHANEL's Boy(Lavandula angustifolia, aka true lavender)/Jersey(musky), Penhaligon's Satorial(a steamy haberdashery shop), MFK's Masculin Pluriel(spicy), Dior's Eau Noire(twin sister of Masculin Pluriel but raw and spicier; original, not sure about the new version), SL's Gris Clair(smokey, incense-y).

Opening is super clean citrusy a touch masculine but only due to other fragrance associations. Once the citrus subsides, the fragrance floats into a super fluffy lavender that settles into the white musk. The tonka adds a nice richness to the dry down. All the while not being super overwhelming and pretty close to the skin. Spectacular!! Don’t sleep on this one such a beautiful lavender. Give this one time before judging. Love sleeping with this on

I've been so obsessed with this fragrance since the first sniff. I finally got the full size for my birthday and since then I've been wearing it nonstop. It is super clean and perfect as a signature everyday wear. I'm not a huge fan of lavender but this is such a special lavender mixed with neroli and musk that I just got hooked on this one. My first Le Labo scent and can't wait to get to smell the next one.

I’ve been searching for a lavender perfume and I have found it in Lavande 31. It’s not too aromatic, not too soapy, and also not too sweet— it’s perfectly in the middle and well balanced. I must disagree with the other comments that neroli dominates the composition, this is lavender first and forward to my nose. I do think the neroli and tonka do a good job rounding it out though.

First signature I've had in years <3 It works in every season, and pairs well with the rest of my scent wardrobe. I'm not typically one to layer, but this smells like cozy fresh laundry, so I always have it on, even under other scents. It gets me a surprising amount of compliments, which I don't mind lol This fragrance just makes me feel safe and embraced and calm and clean 🫧

Lavande 31 really surprised me. It’s clean, slightly soapy, and a bit woody. The lavender smells fresh and modern, with a subtle warmth underneath that makes it feel smooth and relaxed. It works for everyday wear—office, casual outings, a quiet dinner. It feels effortless, like a crisp white shirt that just fits right. Simple and classy, in a very good way. Big love 👍👍👍

a sudden favorite from Le Labo. relaxing lavender gently oscillating between soapy neroli and clean laundry musk before settling to a signature Le Labo base hours later. edit: there's something ever so slightly animalic far into the dry down. I guess it's just the musk and amber, but it's a surprising depth to an otherwise relaxing and fluffy fragrance.

This is a scent that can be used up rather quickly when in the mood. It wakes you up with a bright juicy sensation, but is not as light as other citrus scents. It stays with you throughout the day. There is a chalkiness to it as well. It’s quite unlike any other citrus fragrance that I have. An enjoyable one when looking to lift the mood.

my new signature scent. If you want a clean smelling fragrance this is it! this is a fragrance that you could wear for anything. I've only worn it twice and have gotten 1 compliment from my dentist the first time wearing it and the second i got a complement from a cashier and a teacher at my school! highly reccommend. Very mass appealing!

Immediately fell in love when I smelled this at Dillard's. I was instantly reminded of OG Moonlight Path by Bath & Body Works, but in the best way. It's elevated, smoother & more creamy, brightened by a gorgeous citrus-y freshness. Easily my favorite composition by Le Labo, and likely a permanent staple in my collection. Just gorgeous.

Soapy lavender scent with a touch of bright neroli and clean musky undertones. Clean and fuzz-free, a perfect scent to mask away the heartache. Great performance, lasts all day long on clothes. IDK if I ever repurchase this since it reminds me of not just one, but many heartbreaks from this year alone lol. Scents are truly personal.

If you're looking forward to lavender, you might be a little disappointed. The scent of Neroli is quite present, There's a little bit of aromatic vibes that are slightly present by lavender. I think the scent itself is quite good, but if the aroma vibe of lavender is more added to the scent, I think it will be better received.

This is my go-to when I need something comforting and gentle. It's so creamy, evoking the foam of a barbershop while still remaining unisex imo. The tonka, amber and musk base-combo is for me just like putting on my cosiest sweater and the lavender leans it all slightly medicinal - but just ever-so slightly. Smells goooood.

I love this but my partner finds it weird. I get why people are comparing it to household cleaners/room sprays but I still can’t get enough of this. All I get from it is strong lavender soap, it smells so comforting and clean! Give me this any day over Santal and I usually love my woody, leather fragrances.

Opens with a strong citrus note which smells a bit like toilet cleaner before drying down to a lovely soft lavender scent however not brash and overpowering like a lot of lavender heavy fragrances. Let it settle more and you’ll get a really sharp, soapy note which is so comforting. Love love love this!!

Smells a little like a high quality lavender soap or detergent on paper but on the skin, in my opinion, it almost entirely loses the distinct lavender smell and is just a lovely clean, musky smell. Not as powdery as a lot of other Le Labo fragrances, which I like. Nice unisex fragrance.

Reminds me a lot of Reflection Man by Amouage, with the typical musk present in all Le Labo perfumes. I really like it a lot, lasts quite a while and smells great. Definitely not a barbershop type fougere. In fact, I really don’t get fougere from it outside of the fact it has lavender.

IMO the best in the line that I've tried, and one that isn't spoken about about much. My cousin owns this and whenever he passes by that soft sillage is crazy good. I would own it, BUT it's pricy and my cousin already owns it and I don't like smelling like my friends and family.

Calming, soapy lavender scent. It feels fresh, clean, like you just showered with a lavender soap from the south of France. Great as a nighttime scent due to its relaxing nature. Projection and silage are strong. Overall a good perfume, but not very complex.

Absolutely amazing. I love lavender scents, and this really is one of the very few that are done correctly. It's not soapy, it's not in your face, it's just there in a clean spa-like wonder! This and Bigarade 18 always get people asking what I am wearing.

Lavande 31 is a soft, almost silky lavender—more floral than aromatic or herbal—blended with airy neroli and cushioned by a creamy musky-amber base for a smooth, elegant finish. This is one of my favourite Lavander scents and my favourite from the brand.
