Sample is light green in colour, which seems odd given the pale peach coloured butterfly in this one's promotional pic. Bursts into a little kaleidoscopic explosion at first n it's hard to see where it's going to go then it settles into a very lightly earthy presence of powder, smoke, vanilla & leather, maybe a little bit of wood, maybe a tiny bit of citrus; a perfect light dusting of sweetness throughout. It's v well blended n it's hard to really pick anything out or see the join. This is actually really nice. It's my favourite butterfly. A couple of sprays lasts about five hours on me. It does indeed remind of Shalimar but the effect of this ethereal creation is to make Shalimar itself seem a bit galumphing & gauche. If I had to sum it up it's like Shalimar got adulterated with cocoa powder & icing sugar & the smokey scent of lapsang souchong under which sits a very very refined italian leather. The cocoa powder is not a strict interpretation this is an extremely smooth light vanillery cocoa powder, not like what you smell in the jar but an airy fairytale version.
