Bonbon Banane

Omg I love this! I’m really into Caribbean oldies right now.. inspired by Harry Belafonte energy and wow this brought me joy. It’s like a banana cream brûlée. There’s something that smells a bit toasted or torched about it (which may read like cinnamon- I did even get Angels Share resemblance) Ultimately it’s a non cloying sweet and warm banana with lactonic coconut nuances and a powdery woody base. I only get banana candy/taffy in the beginning, it quickly warms and dries down to be rich and realistic on my skin. Le Monde always impresses me by being so cheap but not smelling synthetic. This smells more organic and melts into the skin better than some high end fragrances I’ve tried. Sits close, but will be impeccable worn alongside other tropical aromas. Found for 12.99 at TJMAX - bless up! 🌴

I bought this before any reviews were posted, hoping that the bold yellow dye and kitschy product photos indicated it would smell like banana runts. It doesn’t have the candy notes that I anticipated. Instead, Bonbon Banane is a moderately sweet soft musk with hints of green waxy banana leaf and coconut water. It is a demure form of tropical, which sits close to the skin for personal enjoyment. I’ve long wanted a pandan leaf perfume, and this has a similar vibe. It’s familiar, but outside of the western norm. I love this.

I stumbled on Bonbon Banane at TJ Maxx and grabbed two bottles—so glad I did because I heard it’s discontinued. This scent is very pretty. The banana is soft and airy, not overly candy like or ripe. It blends so nicely with what feels like a lightly toasted coconut and a creamy, slightly sweet sandalwood. There’s this cozy sugar note in the background too—like brown sugar and caramel, but not too heavy. This is super easy to wear and kind of addictive. Definitely a little gem I didn’t expect to find!

I was nervous that this was going to be pure sweet banana candy or bananas foster, and was pleasantly surprised to find otherwise! It's primarily a powdery musk scent, with banana candy hiding underneath sandalwood. A bit of warm nuttiness and coconut as well. Super cozy and warm, and strangely more of fall/winter scent to me than summer. Honestly - I love this so far, and am tempted to buy a backup. (First sniff review, may update later based on repeated use.)

Yummy! This smells warm and slightly sweet, slightly crisp. It is hard to describe. Since it is banana leaf there is no fake chemical cloying banana scent. Same thing with the coconut. The notes are well blended so it is hard to pick them out. This is a slightly musky, slightly sweet scent. I love it! These scents are so fun and cheap that I blind bought 4 and there's only one I don't really like.

This is exactly what I think of when I think of a hot, summary scent. The banana leaf and coconut are not sweet at all which I love so much. This to my nose is a sophisticated sunscreen scent. The sandalwood note I get more softly on the dry down. It doesn’t last that long on me, maybe 2 hours but it’s so nice! I need more bottles of this, thank you Marshall’s!

Super yummy banana gourmand. Exactly what I was looking for and more. This screeches with summer heat but in a vacation-y way that makes you think of the beach. I've been looking for a good banana perfume for months!

Very pretty fresh, real coconut with creamy, soft sandalwood and a hint of green. It’s not at all what I was expecting, especially from the name, but it’s actually better!

Any Mexican people/ Mexican candy lovers here? This smells exactly like Glorias. Like those taffy candies that are brown and have pecans in them in some red packaging. Basically this perfume smells like Dulce de leche with PECANS. Pecans is very important here. It’s nutty, at first I wanted to think it smelled like banana bread, but no. Very lovely scent and I snatched it for $13 at TJ Maxx.

Banana laffy taffy/banana runts liquefied To me, this is mildly unwearable and very sweet so im a little confused by the other reviews! Maybe its because I never sprayed it on my skin

The word Bonbon in the name is misleading, as this scent is not especially sweet. I would describe it as more creamy, although there is a very faint scent of actual banana sweetness in the beginning which quickly morphs into a spicy and milky musk. The spice has been described by some as cinnamon, but it is actually more of a mild peppercorn. There is a pleasant lactonic milkiness from the sandalwood along with a powdery musk in the dry down. The green aroma of banana leaf cuts through the creaminess and the faint trace of coconut is realistic and not cloying like suntan lotion, to keep the fragrance fresh and clean. It surprised me how much I liked this and often reach for it on cloudy days in cooler weather for a mood boost. Not much longevity or projection, which works if you are wearing it for yourself and not others. If you are looking to make a statement or fish for compliments, this is not the one.

I found this in a trio sampler set at TJ max. I didn't like it when I first sprayed it, it felt a bit masculine for my taste. After a while I smelled something really nice wafting around me....it was me! Bonbon Banane morphed into a dry and slightly green, slightly sweet floral with a salty halo. It very much smells like any number of dry fig perfumes and I was surprised to not find fig in the notes. I do not smell coconut or banana unfortunately. The scent is elusive and not as strong as I'd like and it could easily be unisex. To sum it up, this feels like a hot windy afternoon near a beach with palm trees, salt in the air, a red hibiscus behind your ear and a lime mojito in hand. A vendor down the street is selling cotton candy.

yum, yum, && YUM. i absolutely love this! i have been on a hunt for a really good banana forward perfume and this one checks all the boxes for me anyway. i have maui in a bottle by kayali & have been on the hunt for the perfect addition to my d1 layering combo && this brought everything i needed. it surprisingly has decent longevity and projection & i think this performs really well in humid weather ( i bought this while i was in florida) it did really well on rainy days as well. if this were available in a larger size id definitely buy it in a heart beat solid release and a new staple in my banana collection 10/10!

This is SO refreshing - it feels like the essence of summer to me. How I would describe what it smells like: - 30% banana leaf (neutral-green/fresh tropical) - 30% coconut water (refreshing coconut - not too sharp, synthetic, or salty) - 15% ozonic (airy and almost aquatic) - 15% banana cream (not the candy, but like a banana cream pie without the crust) - 5% sandalwood - 5% sea spray/salt It's soft and really only creates a personal scent bubble - almost no projection. The dry-down is mostly sandalwood and banana leaf. This is a unique and perfect fragrance for the beach, pool, or just summer in general!

I get synthetic banana candy from this, with a hint of...cinnamon? For some reason? It’s sweet, not cloyingly so but in an almost sterile way, like sunscreen. I’ll think about it (I bought this as part of a three-pack with Le Bubble Pop and Cherie Cerise)

I don't know. This just didn't smell good to me. Wasn't as tropical as I wanted, kind of heavy on the sandalwood with coconut in the background and basically no banana.

It smells like banana candies and suave $1 rainforest scented shampoo. I don’t like it .

I hate that I want this. Coconut banana = up my alley.
