Crème Vanille

If you aren't a lover or familiar with 'Le Monde Gourmand' like myself, then you might be confused by the name. Like a LOT of their perfumes, the name doesn't quite match the scent... It's kinda their MO for some odd reason, LOL. You HAVE to read the notes before buying or else you will either be let down, or surprised :) I haven't met one yet that I haven't liked and I have well over 100 perfumes (most being designer). If they had the proper staying power and silage, I would say they might be one of my fav houses. For this one, I have the former 'vintage' version "Vanilla Mousse" (same perfume #017). It's a sweet, fresh, realistic apricot with a very, very light floral in the background. There is no vanilla so that is why there is confusion on the name. There is brown sugar and amber and I get both on the dry down :) This is lovely!

So 8 months since my first review when I first got this and I rated it pretty low back then. Thought it was pleasant but forgettable, and I won’t take that back. But its the only tester in the set that I emptied and went searching for a better quality of the scent profile, which isn’t to be confused with vanilla, this is an apricot and soft floral scent. I loved it so bad I blind bought a fb of Montale’s Sweet Vanille that has the same listed notes and boy was I disappointed, and then I tried Dua’s Apricot Cupcake and that one’s probably what most people here expected of Le Gourmand. Needless to say neither of them were this and I’m gonna snatch up a fb next time I see it. Weak, boring, forgettable. Sure but I can wear it anywhere, anytime and thats priceless in my collection of 90 fragrances.

I got this as part of a set I found at Marshall’s for like $12, so my expectations were low, but Creme Vanille is delightful! Definitely sweet, but slightly warm too, and not at all cloying. The apricot lifts it up a bit and keeps it from being too photorealistic gourmand, which is good, in my opinion. I don’t really want to smell like I actually wiped buttercream frosting on myself, you know? The sillage and longevity are not great, but this makes a perfect cozy scent to wear while I’m in my pajamas, winding down for an hour or two before bed. I like to layer it with a woodsy scent sometimes too, like Boy Smells Woodphoria.

Got a Le Monde Gourmar tester set from Tj max and sprayed both of my wrists and inner elbows with 4 different scents. After an hour this is the only one that has completely vanished. Wrist to nose, I smell nothing but a hint of sweetness. While it was around it was pleasant but a young, juvenile vanilla. I’d impulsively buy it from a CVS or something if I went in there for something else and stopped to sniff but now that I know it has zero longevity or projection I wouldn’t waste the money. (Miel Bebe is the superstar of the set in terms of projection.)

Literally identical to BBW Warm Vanilla Sugar. Like all Le Monde Gourmand fragrances, this doesn’t last very long. LMG is literally the best perfume if you like dramatically spraying 10 squirts of perfume all over yourself before you leave the house, but don’t want to alert the international space station that you are wearing perfume. You will probably not even smell like perfume once you return from your outing. I still love the variety, I own at least 7 of them now. Get the variety packs, especially the creme de la creme purse spray set.

Longevity is rubbish.. If that wasn't the case, I'd be a bigger fan. I like that it's a sweet but musky vanilla, it's inoffensive but not immature, feels clean and a bit moreish. Someone else said juicy and they were right on the money with that. I like wearing this one to bed as I find a musky vanilla comforting and it lingers a little bit closer to the skin in the evening. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to get a larger bottle, but I will continue to enjoy my 30 ml as my bed time scent.

Gorgeous juicy, sugary amber scent - hardly vanilla but adjacent. I've been obsessed with this for almost 2 years and it's perfect in all seasons. Hard disagree with the reviews that suggest play doh - in my opinion this smells sophisticated and just beautifully well-rounded. The longevity is disappointing but you can get it to last longer by applying like a body spray including on clothes

The person who commented the animalic as a scent note is so on point. Yes it's sweet and like whipped cream, but the brown sugar and this weird body-smell is totally there. Over time on the skin it sweetens but it doesn't smell juvenile. Not a gourmand fan, but this is super great and I kind of want to sniff it all the time. Reminds me of the color pastel purple or pale grey.

I just received this today. I received the body icing in this scent free with purchase and fell in love! I had to have the whole line so I bought the fragrance, the body oil and the body mist to layer them. Vanilla Orchid is not listed in the notes above! This needs to be corrected! The notes listed on Le Monde's website are Apricot, Vanilla orchid, brown sugar, and Amber!!!

Used to be called vanilla mousse. True brown sugar scent. No vanilla, so the name is a little misleading, but sweet and warm brown sugar. It’s what I wanted BBW warm vanilla sugar to smell like. If it was a hair stronger it would be amazing. As is it’s really good, just don’t expect people to smell you from a mile away, this lays close to the skin.

Cannot go wrong with Creme Vanille... It's one of my favorites!!! It smells like your traditional vanilla, but the apricot note makes it smell so fresh. If your going for something simple, this would be a good go-to. It's got low-med sillage, so it would be a pleasant close-to-skin scent!

I love this scent so much. It's like one of my all time favorites. I wish it lasted longer. It disappears on me in like 5-15 minutes. It's a shame and I wish they would fix it to make it longer lasting. 😩 Good scent for any time though.

My favorites scent from Le Monde Gourmand. It doesn’t last so I don’t wear it out but I love the comforting soft vanilla scent.

Wow, I bought a set of 10 and this one stands out. The apricot was a major surprise but a welcome one. I really like it.

Okay so, I originally rated this a bit lower, because the first time I tried it I could barely smell anything, which is consistent with the other reviews here. A bit later, I got a free hand cream in the same scent from the brand with a purchase, and I was shocked because this scent is actually really great, a light fruity, but warm vanilla. I don’t get any of the jasmine really coming through, which is weird because I typically find jasmine to be a strong player in most scent profiles. I can definitely see how this could pull as a play dough smell for some people though, but for me it didn’t do that. After a few months of keeping the EDP in a dark drawer, I came back to it and I get a lot more from it now. It’s still very light, so I would say it’s probably an office type of scent. So, I bumped up my rating a bit. Still not giving it full marks because the longevity and projection are still pretty weak, but it does enough to give a nice little scent bubble for an hour or two.

I have the original version of 017, Vanilla Mousse, so I'm not sure if it is different than the current 017. The top notes are sweet and fruity, not very vanilla. It starts to dry down quickly into a light vanilla and amber. It's not a strong vanilla, that seems to almost be more background. I'm not a huge vanilla person anyways, so I like this take on vanilla. I do agree that it doesn't last long though, I sprayed it a few minutes ago and I already need to refresh it. I only sprayed a little at first just to get a feel for it, but it fades fast. The price is not bad, especially since I got the trio, but if I was looking for something I could wear all the time, this would be too weak to be it unless you kept it with you and reapplied all the time.

I was expecting this to be a straight vanilla scent, and was pleasant surprised to smell some complexity. There's definitely the sweet scent of the apricot shining through, with some very light florals in the background, but the main star is definitely the warm, brown sugar, ambery vanilla. I can imagine this being work at literally any time of day or year, and it could be endlessly layered. The longevity is lacking for my taste (I like to get at least 6+ hours of noticeable scent) as I can only smell it on me for a couple hours (maybe 3?). Lovely scent, just be ready to reapply (which for this price, you can reapply all day long haha! I got mine on clearance at Marshalls for $15.99 for the jumbo 2.5oz bottle).

This was a blind buy for me, and I was admittedly quite disappointed when I first tried it. Back then, it had a stark smell of nail polish remover, and I couldn't identify any of the notes aside from a faint apricot amongst chemicals. However, a month or two has passed now, and the liquid is significantly darker and the scent has improved a lot for me! It is still a tad sharp, but the jasmine, brown sugar, and amber are definitely more prominent. The scent has become much creamier and far more pleasing. This is absolutely a skin scent, and layers nicely with stronger perfumes if you want to add a sweet yet creamy undertone.

Once the alcohol smell dissipates, this fragrance opens up with the scent of the flesh of a juicy apricot, brown sugar, and a whipped vanilla cream scent. To my nose, it smells like a cake with vanilla bean cream filling and topped with sugary brown sugar and apricot compote. This fragrance is saccharine, playful, fun, cute, and reminiscent of childhood, but for an adult’s palate. It’s an easy wear and very safe blind. If you spray enough, it creates a lovely scent bubble anyone next to you would smell. I think this would be great for a very casual first date or something to put on when you want to smell good.

This is one of my favorite go-to perfumes! Creme Vanille is not a vanilla don't get it twisted! It might have like a vibe of a vanilla sure but it's a unique fruity floral. I have it in lotion and perfume form and my friends always like smelling it. I think this is a great scent to have in your repertoire if you're a collector or fine with spending $25 for an ounce. You can smell it at Ulta and I believe urban outfitters! Its not incredibly long lasting but its so small and compact that I usually just throw it in my bag/backpack as its a great scent to refresh yourself with.

At first I was confused by the lack of vanilla I got from this scent, considering the name. All that aside, I really really like it. Notes of amber, sweet brown sugar and fresh florals, but not in an overbearing way which I love. Once set on my skin I get very powdery notes of brown sugar with apricot with the amber being dried down. Behind the powdered gourmand you get the floral notes. It reminds me of a strawberry shortcake doll, not in the sense that it smells like it but in the sense that it smells powdery, fruity with a slightly plastic touch in the best way possible.

A very average vanilla smell. It’s very sugary and it does smell very nice. If you enjoy a sweet vanilla I would say you’d enjoy this. It’s not as strong as I would like so I think I’ll be using this for layering, and not on its own. Personally I don’t smell any jasmine or apricots, I really only get brown sugar and vanilla. Definitely doesn’t last very long, I sprayed it around 6am and it’s 7am now and very weak on my skin. I barley smell it on my clothes either. It’s a cheap fragrance so I don’t mind reapplying, so if you don’t mind that either it should be fine.

I struggle to find a sweet, creamy vanilla that doesn't smell like play-doh on me. This isn't the most vanilla scent (especially with vanilla in the name), but it has that sweet neutrality without being cloying. Creme vanille starts out with a very fresh apricot, green-ified by the jasmine. It reminds me of living in Armenia during the spring with all the apricot blossoms. It dries down a bit warmer into a sweet and lovely brown sugar; the apricot falls to the back and makes it more of an apricot-molasses brown sugar. I only wish it lasted longer!

this is one of my favorite scents and i’m looking at the reviews kinda shocked because this is such a beautiful fresh gourmand to me 😭 does it last long? not really...but it’s seriously perfect for everyday wear and ive already repurchased considering the affordable price tag. While le monde is not a particularly niche fragrance house, they experiment with super interesting notes and it’s a great way to enter the fragrance world :)

I'm not really getting the hate for this fragrance. It's light, sweet and lovely. It reminds me a lot of Nishane Hundred Silent Ways. Also, it cost $25 bucks! Would be a perfect gift for a young teen or pre-teen just getting into scent, but I also enjoy it as an adult with a shelf full of high-end niche frags.

If you like a clean shower scent this one’s for you. This smells JUST like conditioner to me 😭. Still a very nice scent however I get no vanilla whatsoever and I’d be ok with that if there was any brown sugar but I don’t smell that either unfortunately. Prob my fav “after shower” type of perfume smell

Very simple sweet gourmand. Similar to warm vanilla sugar from BBW. I get a creamy vanilla and brown sugar notes. It doesn't seem to last a long time and sillage is intimate. I don't get any apricot or much of the jasmine, the amber might be there but just barely. It's not bad for the price I guess

A warm vanilla sugar dupe that lasts for a while on the skin and is pleasant. Smells like a vanilla cupcake. A good scent to wear to bed if you do that. Almost no sillage. Not anything revolutionary, but for 30 bucks and under it's super nice to have to just spritz on or layer.

this is verrry pretty. smells like a fresh vanilla but it’s also warm and cozy at the same time. this is good if you want a vanilla that isn’t super gourmand heavy, it’s a little more on the fresher side. smells very nice! perfect for the winter and fall!

I received a bottle of this for Christmas and while I really like the scent, I find it lacking due to the longevity and the sillage range. Due to it’s subtle nature I have found it better for layering purposes than for use as a main perfume.

This perfume is pure voodoo. I smell the most perfect creamy vanilla, and yet there is no vanilla listed in the notes... Voodoo! But this will definitely be used as a vanilla base in all of my layering combos this fall and winter!

Really nice light & sweet scent. It doesn’t last long, though. I don’t feel badly about re-spraying at the price. Good for something sweet that isn’t so strong it gets cloying. Could see it layering well with other things.

creamy, fresh, with a touch of sweetness. gives me vanilla lotion or even vanilla ice cream vibes. the price can’t be beat either. probably better with layering, but can also stand on its own.

Super universal, very neutral. Personally prefer a stronger vanilla or at least a base vanilla with multiple notes. This one does work perfectly when layered though!

Very nice natural creamy vanilla, but almost no sillage. Vaguely reminiscent of Sweet Tooth, but more vanilla and less marshmallow. Very much a skin scent.

No vanilla, it is not even listed as a note on their website. To me this almost all amber, with a slight hint of fruity sweetness.

Smells just like bath and body works brown sugar, but a bit less chemically. Don’t get any apricot.

I get no amber , this is just warm vanilla sugar , and a very artificial lite version at that . Pretty disappointed with this one . I don’t need this scent . I don’t even reach for this type of scent to layer with much anymore. I was hoping for something with amber or caramel or crème . But this is the most basic one I’ve smelled from them so far . I’m stuck . I want to try the others but they are all so lite I’m almost not wanting to spend my money on anymore. Idk know what to do . I’ll try them out more .and spray more n see how I feel . after a while . Edit. I just tried some more and I can pick up the brown sugar and apricot, this smells like warm vanilla sugar mixed with radiant nectar by clean . Almost smells like superglue . I like chai spice, lait de coco , pistachio brûlée, but miel Bebe and vanilla crème and rose macron, aren’t my faves

I found a bottle at Marshall's titled "Vanilla Mousse", which appears to be the old name, which makes me wonder how old my bottle is, and I also wonder how much this has affected the scent over-all. I skimmed through the reviews and only found one that had the same issue I did, a Play-Doh like smell. I bought this for a friend who LOVES vanilla, so I really wanted this to wow her, but now I am worried she will feel this way too, but I am hoping it's just how it smells to me and against my body chemistry. Although, after it sits, you really get a good hint of that brown sugar and a fruity spritz of Apricot. If this didn't smell like Play-Doh to me, I think I might be tempted to keep it for myself. Overall, minus my obvious disagreement to the scent, 7.4/10.

This is actually a soapy vanilla. I went to Ulta with my daughter, and she's wearing this. It's truly not that creamy at all, and I struggle to see what is lactonic about it. It has a thin, transparent sweet profile, and doesn't quite smell like apricot or brown sugar, it's actually quite vague and difficult to pinpoint. It's clean, almost like a sheer shampoo, and could be classified as a "you skin, but better" type of fragrance. Definitely not overly perfume-y, I'd mistake this for someone's lotion if I smelled it in public. It's pretty, but we both agree that it's entirely forgettable. Also, it performs less than many of our body sprays.

I like how this smells but at the same time, the world of vanilla fragrances is vast and abundant with beautiful fragrances so I don't feel like this scent needs to exist and I wouldn't tell anyone to go out of their way to buy it. It's a sad beige version of Clinique Cookies & Kisses, which is already a pretty boring fragrance. If you want a cheap vanilla, literally anything at BBW is on par with this, and if you want an expensive vanilla you have almost infinite marvelous choices.

I’m a little puzzled by all the “vanilla” chatter with this one — vanilla isn’t listed as a note, and I don’t pick it up on my skin at all. The scent itself is light, clean, and quietly sweet with a soft floral touch. It’s pleasant, but doesn’t particularly stand out, and the longevity is almost non-existent. I’ll enjoy wearing it casually around the house, but I don’t see myself repurchasing once the bottle is finished.

If I could sum this fragrance up in one word, it would be "mediocre." I don't like it, but I don't hate it. It's just okay, and it's just "there"...if that makes sense. I don't know why they chose to name this "Crème Vanille" when it doesn't even include vanilla in the notes. It just smells like apricots with musk and a hint of brown sugar. I'm usually not a fan of anything musky, so that was very disappointing to me.

Really nice lovely vanilla ice cream with a touch of apricot. I don't get any jasmine in this at all. Really good scent but needs to be literally 10x stronger. Have to have my nose actually touching skin to smell it at all. Bedtime scent at best, would never hold up even for the car ride to work let alone all day there!

smells like two perfumes blended together rather than one layered cohesive scent. not a solid vanilla scent if thats what you're looking for. im not a big florals person but the floral elements of this scent aren't bothersome. not bad by any means but not really solid either. it honestly smells sort of beachy to me.

Was hoping for a vanilla scent when i bought this (mistake of not looking at the notes beforehand) & all i get is a heavy slightly sugary & fruity apricot scent. It’s not a bad scent, but when you’re expecting vanilla, especially from the name, and get fruity apricot ... it sucks lol.

this fragrance is okay. it's definitely not gourmand at all. i also don't feel like it has enough vanilla. it's more of a powdery musk scent. it doesn't last long and probably would be best for layering. it's not bad but just isn't sweet or gourmand enough for my taste.

A restrained clean fruity floral scent! its so light and fresh. Safe to overspray, it will never overwhelm or become cloying. it's actually such a lovely flormand if only stronger and last longer. I personally would spend money on something else for the price..
