Riz de Mangue

A wonderfully playful take on sticky rice with very minimal mango. There is definitely more of the milky notes and rice notes than there is mango but it's definitely there in a noticeable sense. Opens with the smell of starchy and freshly sticky rice with a creamy, almost savory buttery touch there. Then you get a cheeky touch of mango in sweetly fruity way. Dry down is muskier with a soft sandalwood touch, not very much mango left, and remnants of the sticky rice. If you're looking for a well done milky rice scent this is it, but if you're looking for prominent mango, look elsewhere.

This is amazing!!! On the open we have a photorealistic rice & mango that's soft, creamy & fruity with the rice lending an earthy cereal grain quality that's so unique. As it's drying down, the milk & rice leans a bit more vanilla and the mango skirts peach territory in such a way that it almost reminds me a little bit of a fruitier version of DedCool's Mochi Milk which is a favorite of mine. This was a blind buy and I really feel like I lucked out! It's so interesting and different while still being truly delightful, easy and approachable.

loooove this scent so much omg. i usually go for fresh scents but the mango sticky rice concept intrigued me and there was no way i could resist. this is such a cute little gourmand. at the beginning i definitely get sweet, juicy mango but it’s pretty fleeting. after the dry down i get a very sweet warm scent almost like a creamy caramel/vanilla and maybe a bit of starchiness from the rice. just a super pleasant smell and i’m obsessed with the color of the liquid <3

I hate that this is limited edition—because it’s sooo good. I’ve been on the hunt for a gourmand I enjoy (since I usually don’t like them), and I finally found it. The opening hits with a tropical, sweet, sticky, starchy mango. Although I see the mango sticky rice vision, on my skin, it leans more like vanilla cookies soaked in milk, with a hint of mango in the background. It’s not overly cloying, which I appreciate. Grabbing a backup bottle.

This is delicious, probably the best mango gourmand I’ve tried from any mainstream brand, but I’m so sad about its longevity! I should have known that a water-based formula wouldn’t last nearly as long. But the scent itself, you really can’t beat. It’s a bowl of mango sticky rice in a bottle and has a beautiful powdery clean note somewhere along the base. Strongly recommend for those who love fruity yet not overtly sweet scents.

I love the sweet creaminess of this perfume! It's lovely, but it doesn't last long. I have not found any Le Monde Gourmand fragrances to last long on me really, so i was not expecting it to. For $25 for a bottle though (and you can often find them cheaper at TJ Maxx or Marshalls) i don't care if i have to top it up after a couple of hours. it's a great summer scent

opens as described! like mango sticky rice, not overly sweet and can smell the mango but fades quickly :( very soft, lactonic, fruity scent but i have to be within a few inches to really smell it 3/5

This is such an intriguing fragrance! Upon first spray I get a sticky, juicy blend of mango, milk, and rice; but, beyond those first few minutes, the mango (and any overt fruitiness, for that matter) essentially disappears, never to be smelled again. However, the drydown is a delicious, creamy scent that sorts of melts into my skin. It's sweet, but also not sickeningly so; the level of sweetness sort of reminds me of shortbread cookie dough. That's not to say that this fragrance literally smells like cookies; however, it has a comparable lactonic, buttery, sweet-but-not-sugar quality to it. With that being said, this fragrance does gradually become more and more savory throughout the day. After a few hours, the main prevailing note is that starchy rice, which is incredibly unique and unlike anything else in my collection. Any other lingering notes combine to create a soft, surprisingly almost soapy scent. When blended with the starchy quality, it doesn't actually smell like soap itself; rather, it kinda just smells like freshly washed skin. Clean, creamy, subtly musky. By the end of the day, not much sweetness remains; however, the scent is still absolutely delicious in a totally new way!

When I first smelled this, I hadn't read the notes. My first thought was, "Wow, did someone just make a mango cheesecake perfume?" And my husband sniffed my arm, and said it smelled like sugar and graham crackers to him. Neither of us had smelled rice or milk before this perfume. A cool introduction to that. The mango is accurate. I've said before on the Yara Tous review that mango has a kind of peppery note on the tail end of it when I smell (and eat it), and this perfume managed to keep the integrity of the scent. It still doesn't read as milk and rice to me, and that's ok! It's still very pretty. If I sniff really slowly, I can kinda get it? But it's not necessary. My husband and I smell cheesecake - screw it, it's cheesecake. I just think that's funny. As far as longevity, it's one of the better performers in the Le Monde line. Just manages to clasp the Moderate title. I'd say it projects pretty well for the first few hours, but it becomes a skin scent sooner than I would like. A great bedtime scent, for sure, or easily layerable with Yara Tous.

I was hesitant to blind buy this, as I was worried about how the mango notes would play - be it too artificial or too "tropical." I only get some of the mango when it's first sprayed, but then it dries down to a yummy rice pudding scent, which is actually a plus for me. The rice really shines in this perfume and the milk isn't overly sweet, but it's just there enough to smell creamy. This has pretty intimate sillage in my opinion, but has decent lasting power and is definitely something I could wear everyday.

An easy to love gourmand that hovers between sweet and savory. The rice is the star here, with a slightly underripe mango and a splash of condensed milk playing supporting roles. Great longevity, but it sits very close to my skin. Nothing to do with the scent, but this sprays on very wet and dries down slightly sticky. Strongly recommend for folks like me who don’t love a heavy, sticky sweet gourmand. At just $25 it’s def blind buy safe so if you’re on the fence grab it before it’s gone.

im gonna drink this it looks like juice a lovely and accessible rice gourmand! heavy on the sweet creamy rice and light on the mango. the dry down is a creamy vanilla that reminds me of scented candles, with a hint of fruity freshness. even my certified gourmand hater sibling liked this one. i just wish it had a bit more mango.

why does this smell like a yankee candle?? i sprayed it for the first time and thats all i can think about. once it dries down its better but im so confused. i dont even know if i smell mango. also its a bit sticky when applying. but that goes away with time.

I’m not sure there’s a bunch of notes missing from this page, like “fuzzy peach skin.” so this is very sweet, almost like a creamsicle, but for some reason the dry down is reminding me of BO. lychee sometimes reminds me of BO the way the mango is in this dry down... screachy angel soirée (the lychee notes) gives me the same BO scratchy note to my nose as the mango in this dry down

This is a gorgeous warm very wearable scent but there is not any mango. Right in the opening there’s the tiniest bit of mango but that goes away in about 10 seconds. I will still be wearing it because it’s a beautiful scent but I was hoping for more mango!

I don’t get mango. I get something starchy, perhaps rice and strong lactonic note.

artificial buttered popcorn and juicy mango. i found this completely unbearable and highly unpleasant.

Immediately I get something nutty which, after looking at the full notes list on Le Monde Gourmand’s website, I attribute to the almond butter note. Not a lot of mango which is disappointing. Based on the advertising and color I expected more juiciness. It actually reminds me of the Beloved Pistachio Ice Cream body spray at Target, which also lists notes of almond and musk. Both perfumes have in common a scent memory I have with Vietnamese bakeries, for whatever reason, which is nice. Both are also slightly synthetic but not to the point where I feel deterred to snif my arm. That only lasts a couple minutes, and then the nuttiness (and slight mango) opens into the rice accord. Honestly I grew up in a jasmine rice household so I’m not familiar with basmati, but this does remind me of the floral, aromatic nature of warm *jasmine* rice. It is lactonic for sure too, but not so cloying that I would be unable to wear it. Blanche Bete, for reference, is one that in theory I would like but that particular milk and white floral combo is too creamy/heavy for me. This on the other hand is a milk/white floral-ish profile that I find wearable. I’ve only worn for few hours of wear but I already know the dry down is creamy and a tiny bit clean powdery musk with a hint of sweetness- just like the milk from a coconut. At the last leg (4 hours), it’s a crowd pleasing vanilla musk. All in all, I think this is a good pick for its price point if you’re looking for perfume with creamy coconut and nutty rice notes. It’s a nice summery fragrance that is just unique enough to differentiate itself from the other coconut perfumes out there. If you’re looking for a juicy mango though I’d keep looking. Longevity and projection isn’t a deal breaker at all for me so I’ll just be reapplying. I think it’s a nice lil something to look forward to; it won’t choke out people near you; and it’s a cute size to throw in your purse. Though I wish there were more mango, in fairness, the website does cite this as “nutty, milky, and salty skin” and it achieves that.

I wish there was more mango. It fades into something I don’t even know how to describe. It’s not bad, just not what I was expecting. It’s sweet milk and heavy on the rice, but the fruit should be stronger. I don’t love it, but I don’t hate it. I keep coming back to it like, “what are you?” It interests me but disinterests me. Just too weird 😰 it also lasts 3 hours so that’s cool ig

Such a let down!! To be fair this was a blind buy, I had so much hope in the name. Yes it’s super super lactonic, but not your usual musky, powdery lactonic. All I pick up is very warm coconut milk. No mango. Thinking of layering with BTSO Gold Juice since I find that one to be super mango forward!
