8 Café Josephine

This was a blind buy success! I got my bottle, sprayed it on, and im instantly reminded of cafe des delices by maison mataha. It is different, I wouldn't go as far to say a dupe, but its definitely close and a more affordable option. Cafe Josephine opens with a beautiful coffee note, not bitter, the vanilla is beautiful, and the caramel adds depth and a boozyness (i tend to get a boozy note from some caramel) so the caramel isn't a sickly sweet caramel, rather rich and deep. I love the almond in the opening, thats where its different to cafe des delices. And while cafe des delices on the dry down reminded me of Palmers cocoa butter cream, ledda cafe Josephine is not doing that, the coffee note is sticking around, keeping it from becoming just a vanilla and caramel scent. Its gorgeous, I love it. Definitely worth a try, not sure if it would be blind buy safe, especially if you not keen on coffee .

I cannot believe there are not 100's of reviews for this scent. This is beautiful. Delicate, airy yet you can smell it on yourself, it has silage and it lasts. It's sweet and lovely. The sandalwood is soft and every other note is just delicious. Perfect fall/winter. I could see this as a nice date night scent in the spring/fall. It is flawless. Finally a perfume done right.

This one is so so good. Starts out black coffee but after a little while mellows to a sweet creamy vanilla coffee. Lasts Forever on clothes. I actually had to change after about 7 hours cuz I wanted another scent. The scent lasted on my clothes through 2 washes.

This one smells so good! I love it! It smells very similar to BBW Birthday Cake Milk Bar collaboration. The coffee is not the star here as it is mainly in the opening, it's rich creamy and it smells like buttercream frosting.

What a delicious surprise! 😍 I had already Bourbon Brulee which I adore! And this one is as good! Gourmand, creamy deliciousness which is different from every coffee perfume I own. 10/10 😋

If you’ve ever had an affogato, this perfume smells exactly like that. The coffee note is prominent, but it’s softened by a creamy, lactonic vanilla. For me, it’s a definite like—but not a love—because I’m not too into smelling like a super realistic dessert, and this definitely leans that way. Still, it’s beautiful in its simplicity. It’s fairly linear: the coffee note fades after about two hours, and the overall longevity on skin (without prep like unscented lotion) is around 4 hours. On hair and clothes, it lasts longer but stays closer to the skin throughout the entire wear.

Very coffee-forward, so be sure you like that note! I'm getting a very milky, sweet (very sweet) coconut latte. The coconut isn't tropical, I think it just adds to the lactonic effect. Dries down just a touch less creamy. Too literal of a gourmand for me but it IS delicious. Suitable for colder weather.

This is a beautiful photo realistic coffee with a bit of chocolate and cream. It’s very nice and wears well on the skin. For the price, it’s a bit underwhelming at $90 for 50 mL. I have the orris22 and crème brûlée and this is definitely soft like both of those but orris be my favorite.

This smells like Replica Coffee Break without the lavender and added cream & sugar. It’s delicious and photorealistic to a creamy, sweet cappuccino. Coffee lovers will really enjoy this one but might be redundant if you have other realistic coffee scents in your collection.

On me, I get a cappuccino note (along with coffee) and both are spot-on. The caramel and brown sugar however make this far too sweet for me. Someone would truly appreciate it though; a nice fragrance regardless.

Decent. Pretty realistic coffee fragrance. It is pretty sweet, so I would not wear in the heat. I already have a couple of coffee scents, and this one just didn't make the cut.

It's a legit pretty coffee scent but I simply prefer the dry down on Amore Caffe.

This is the first coffee fragrance I’ve actually liked. It’s light and a nice balance of dark coffee and sweet, creamy caramel and almond. I don’t get much of the milk note, which in my opinion is a good thing, I’m not a huge fan of milk notes. The coffee note backs off a bit in the dry down, but the dry down is still lovely - light and sugary sweet.

I agree with the reviewer mentioning the affogato reference. I’ve been looking for a perfect coffee scent that has some milkiness and touch of sweetness and this checks all the boxes. It’s photorealistic to a sweetened milky coffee beverage and that’s what j was ultimately hoping for.

I love my coffee both on skin and as a drink but this is not what I expected. Smells like a clean but hot breath after drinking a milky coffee or an unsweetened warm latte. Letting my bottle sit for now, we try again next winter.
