Skinny Dip Lemon Cologne

I still recall the Sandy Duncan commercials for this, and I was a toddler when they were aired. Sandy is rejected by every man she sees, until she goes into a dressing room and soaks herself with Skinny Dip. Then she can't get away from a mob of tuxedo-wearing men. Somehow I knew the term "skinny dip" was slightly naughty, though I don't know why. Skinny Dip was sold absolutely everywhere. There was no mistaking it, and I absolutely adored it. I couldn't wait until I was a big girl so I could buy gallons of Skinny Dip and soak myself in it. (I was too young to care about who it attracted...I loved the smell!) This was a "typical" '70s scent, in that it had sexy musk undertones, and the aldehydic lemony aroma was completely irresistible. I remember it vividly, and I wish I could spray some right now!I wish a nose with a scent-memory would recreate this one.

Wow ... my oldest brother gave this to me as a Christmas gift when I was 11 but I purposely left about a 1/4 cup in the bottle. I don't know why, I'm thinking because I liked it so much, I wanted it to last. He passed away from heart failure when I turned 20. Through jobs, school, getting married and raising 2 sons, now I'm middle aged and still have the bottle tucked away in my dresser drawer between my cotton t-shirts for protection. I'll open it every now and then just to remember. Yes, it does of course smell like alcohol, but you can still smell the lemons and - Wow ... brings back so many memories. Love you brother, miss you. And yes Miss Tovah, I remember the commercial also; brings back so many memories.
