Just Roulette

Despite the short alcoholic-citrusy start this romantic cold mineral iris is calming like contemplating the sky-high heights. The high mountain ranges are not visible above the clouds, but the clouds are oily and saturated with wood oil and spicy vegetation. Then the iris warms up and turns into a tea party in the palace of King Xian, which he built in the clouds. I will look for this perfume or similar ones.

Classy, soapy, creamy, woodsy iris & bergamot. I do find this lipsticky, but I enjoy a good powder/makeup scent. Elegant and pleasant, like a very expensive soap or lotion. Not special enough to justify the high price tag, but absolutely lovely. I'll probably mix my little sample into some unscented body lotion so I can keep enjoying it for awhile!

Just Roulette by Len Histoire Privée is an irrepressibly elegant fragrance by Michel Almairac. It is my new favourite iris fragrance. I find iris-based fragrances such as D'infusion Iris, Dior Homme, L'Atessa, or Iris Poudre beautiful but they somehow never make the cut in my collection on the long run. Just Roulette however I have been enjoying thoroughly. Many guys do not like the iris note overall because of its powdery lipstick-vibe, however this is different. The fruity freshness of the grapefruit greets the iris in all its vivacity. Alongside the powdery yet vegetal Iris I get hints of metallic violet which flow in balanced duality, descending into a woody base of smooth cedar, moss and dark green vetiver, which give this iris fragrance its 'masculine' appeal. Remotely comparable to Terre d'Hermes and although they may have similar notes they stand out in their own way completely. I could not stop smelling my wrists. At a concentration of 28% perfume oils this extrait provides decent projection and longevity and is suitable for all seasons.
