A La Carte No. 6

Sweet delicious oud. I was looking for an Oud Bouquet type of scent but less sweet. A La Carte has a pronounced sweetness like OB but drier and a way more enhanced oud. In the heart the sweetness even disappears for a while. Lasts very long on clothes. This is very waxy, thick smelling, I feel like standing in a russian Orthodox church with the numerous illuminated long candles warming up the space. Great fragrance and bottle design.

I don ́t get why people aren ́t talkin about this fragrance. It is soooo good. It is not overly sweet at all, the pistachio note is there, you get this marzipan-amaretto vibe, with some TF Oud Wood like woods, with benzoin/styrax sweetness. The bottle looks great as well, smells of high quality.

Forget everything you see in the notes for this. It smells like a much more complex Grand Soir. Gorgeous amber scent with a hint of sweetness. I don’t know why this doesn’t get the love it deserves.

This is gorgeous! Sweet toffee, vanilla and sandalwood. The perfect gourmand. Clings on to clothes for a very long time and has impressive sillage.

I love this! It's sweet but has a strong woody, spicy, vanilla base. Why does no one talk about this house???

Artistic approach that demands respect Toffee and pistachio what kind of a crazy combination is that It was immensely sweet above normal standards but I understand hence the toffee And the pistachio note goes to a marzipan area more than normal pistachios Performance was great projection was ok Its hard to love since it’s intense But definitely something that should be tested for reference if you are a frag addict like me I think a greater way to enjoy this scent and you might call me crazy it’s to spray your hand so you can’t smell it far away and whenever you wanna smell something pleasant you give it a sniff Must try

A La Carte No.6 is my favorite among the first batch of fragrances released when the brand was just starting. The very first spray made me think immediately of pistachio toffee. It’s sweet, but not the sugary, girlish kind of sweetness. Instead, it’s slightly fatty and soft. Vanilla and nuts are wrapped together, almost coating the nose right away. It feels a bit sticky, but not yet cloying. I’m actually quite sensitive to what I call “sweet woods.” Sometimes when sweetness is paired with wood, it can feel cheap, like artificially scented shampoo. This one is fine, though. The wood here is dry, not heavy or damp. It’s not the old-style Middle Eastern oud type of woodiness. It feels more like papery sandalwood or pale woods. It’s not that the composition is trying to show off technical sophistication; it simply understands that the focus is on the sweetness and doesn’t compete with it. In the middle stage there’s a slightly strange note that genuinely reminds me of childhood modeling clay. It’s not unpleasant, just a little distracting. After a while it shifts back to the original vanilla-nut accord, now mixed with a hint of smoke and creamy richness. It isn’t strictly linear, but the transitions are smooth and not dramatic. Longevity is genuinely strong. I could still smell it on my clothes the next day. I wouldn’t describe it as particularly “high-end,” but it delivers a stable sense of satisfaction. It’s not the kind of fragrance that amazes you instantly, but it’s one you’ll find yourself reaching for again and again. Overall, if you like sweetness but don’t want something overly cloying, and you’re looking for a balance between woody dryness and sugary richness, this one is worth trying. Personally, I think it suits autumn and winter better.

A La Carte opens with a rather breathy, fluffy, perfumey nougat effect, immediately followed by a dry light wood (not much like actual oud) and an increasingly rich amber undertone. Within minutes the whole thing is aggressively buttery. Moderately sweet and vanillic, but *seriously* buttered. Next, a slightly plasticky play-doh note takes over. the sweetness is mostly gone at this point, and the play-doh blends with the dry “woody” note from before to make a fairly pleasant, light-toned, neutral scent. Over time the sweetness returns and we’re back to the vanilla-nougat effect, with a bit of abstractly floral perfumeyness. Nice enough, as sweet (but balanced) gourmands go. Not especially emotionally compelling to me. Definitely not even reminiscent of oud.

Very sweet. My first thought was bakewell tart. Very sweet dessert on me. The sweetness does ease off a bit and then it's quite nutty. Now the vanilla is quite pronounced. The oud and styrax now become more evident. I've got to admit that I am not keen on the styrax note. I don't like it here either. The sweetness, nuts and vanilla have gone and now it smells very chemically. I really get very little oud in this. It started off as a yummy gourmand and fades into something that has to be scrubbed off. Styrax has ruined it for me. I get average sillage and longevity.

This is a gourmand-oriental to my nose. Definitely unisex. Dark, smoky, resinous vanillic woods is the best way I can describe it from a quick test. Well, it's not Farah, which I was hoping for, but it's good as itself. On paper, I get printer’s ink, woody vanilla, and pale resins. Comes up dusty woods and turns seriously powdery as it dries, but it’s clearly olibanum. On skin, it’s almost entirely a sweet labdanum type blend. Resin, woody notes, sweetness and powder, but in a nice, warm cozy way. Doesn’t get overwhelming with the powder, but it’s clearly there. Might be stifling in super hot weather, but it's really really nice. My sister adores it.

This is a peculiar fragrance. On the tester strips, it's quite pleasant and extremely sweet, but not unbearable. On skin, however, when it settles down, all that I'm getting is photorealistic Play-Doh. It's almost impressive how bang-on it smells like Play-Doh. I'm not sure if this is unique to my skin chemistry or what, whether pistachio pulls this way on me or not, but that has been my experience with the fragrance as a whole. I don't hate it, but I would say sample first if you can.

It's a caramel styrax blend with hints of nuts (true, there is pistachios), bit of sandalwood, peppers, vanilla, and oud! wait... i guess i can detect every single note quite clear somehow! blended well! After a while i get the fresh grass note approaching and a salted caramel effect, as the caramel gets sharp by the help of the peppers and a bit of salts. After 15 minutes, it goes more salty and very less sweet, too sharp and more of styrax. It's kinda weird and i guess it's fair.

I ordered a sample as I'm exploring fragrances out of the most commercial ones. I've never had an oud perfume nor one with a styrax note. At first, those notes are kind of overwhelming for me, but ten minutes later À la carte No.6 develops into a delicious sweet skin scent. I can't stop sniffing my wrist! I don't like the opening at all, however the payoff is one worth waiting a few minutes for. An immensely classy gourmand.

Super cool fragrance. Symbolizes love in a perfume. Sweety spicy leathery perfume. The top notes kind of hot and spicy but once it takes its time, it becomes more calm and sweety. I loved the unique scent hidden inside the perfume. Fragrance 9 of 10 Sillage 8 of 10 Longevity 8 of 10 It is unisex and can be worn any nigh of year.

the overall scent profile is terrific, BUT it's so overwhelmingly sweet and cloying that it is impossible (for me) to wear... and i'm an oud-enthusiast, wearing natural oud almost daily. i'll perhaps keep an eye-out for the EDT

To me this is very very similar to Armani Ambre Eccentrico or Brecourt Farah. Definitely sweet and something you’d wear during the holidays. Spices, toffee and dates on a bed of amber.
