Dawn Whispers

ichor spills from my maw, custard smeared across my lips. i can sense the sweat beading at my brow and the shaking of my palms seem incessant. was this the universe's way of punishing me for my sin? i am unsure of what this sin may be. maybe it is the delectation that comes from such a horrible act of violence, or maybe it is an act of gluttony that causes my own body to collapse on itself. regardless, i am reprimanded. regret does not wash away my impurities, no matter how much i repent. this scent feels so strangely intimate. it opens in a grotesque manner, the metallic notes being the most noticeable before it settles into a lactonic essence. a perfect macabre scent that emulates the sensation of losing your tooth in a dessert. while it may seem harsh to others, it definitely dries down into a more mellow aroma that still encapsulates that original, provocative nature that it originally presents itself as. if anything, you could always layer on another vanilla scent to further mummify the metallic quality, allowing for the powdery sweetness to take priority. however, it is amazing on its own. this perfume is a wonderful use of ozonic, metallic, lactonic, and powdery notes that creates a beautifully disturbing accord. i am so proud to have this in my collection and it will continue to be a staple in my everyday wear.

I suppose I should take the artist at his or her word when they say this is a futuristic fragrance. Perhaps a sense of déjà vu or an experience of meeting your higher self; an alternative version of yourself in a previous life. I don't think I would have gotten there if it wasn't mentioned before. For those of you who are experienced independent fragrance enthusiasts, this very much reminds me of BARUTI Oh My DEER! It's either that one or hot cotton. BARUTI has a very distinct musk that is in this fragrance as well. Cannot be mistaken. It is very polarizing, but I find it fascinating. It's not going to be something that will garner compliments, but it is certain to start a conversation! DAWN WHISPERS is the most avant garde in the debut collection for sure. Futuristic is the only genre that I believe fits, if it had to go anywhere at all. It's very different. Very cold, metallic, borderline psychotic.

This is what blood must smell like to vampires. Undoubtedly metallic but also slightly sweet. And above all, delicious. I almost detect something like white cake or vanilla, but it’s as if I’m smelling the remnants of some other sweet fragrance that has faded for several hours. I keep doubling back to smell it because my brain gets confused. Do I like this or hate this? Who does this remind me of (it’s on the tip of my tongue)? What did this smell like again? I’ve made peace with liking - perhaps loving - this scent, but I don’t see myself wearing it everywhere. It’s a little too out-there for the office, but I found that it stops projecting around 2ish hours and stays on the skin the entire day (so I can have it all to myself). There are few fragrances out there that smell both nostalgic and futuristic - this is certainly one of them.

This is what the milk that is fed to Alien babies smells like. It is beautiful and sinister at the same time. It is subtle but also pervasive. When you wear Dawn Whispers it surrounds you with tendrils of blood tinged metallic musk that is also somehow sweet, a little bit floral, and vanillic. For me, this is the absolute pinnacle of niche perfume. I don’t know if I’m remembering correctly, and it actually smells like Dent de Lait, but the concept I think is very similar. That’s the first perfume I thought of when smelling this, but honestly Dawn Whispers is unique. This is one I will wear only for myself but for the right person this could be an unforgettable signature. In a world of designer fragrances that all smell alike, the person wearing this will stand out. Dawn Whispers has pretty intense sillage and decent longevity.

I just received a sample in the mail, and immediately poured almost half of the sample on my skin... Wow! It immediately started tricking my senses: one moment a milky heaven, with a similar milkiness as in Blanche Bete. The other moment a slight sweet sharpness from the musk and amber with some fruitiness that I have no idea where it comes from. It is weird, but the best way possible.
