ichor spills from my maw, custard smeared across my lips. i can sense the sweat beading at my brow and the shaking of my palms seem incessant. was this the universe's way of punishing me for my sin? i am unsure of what this sin may be. maybe it is the delectation that comes from such a horrible act of violence, or maybe it is an act of gluttony that causes my own body to collapse on itself. regardless, i am reprimanded. regret does not wash away my impurities, no matter how much i repent. this scent feels so strangely intimate. it opens in a grotesque manner, the metallic notes being the most noticeable before it settles into a lactonic essence. a perfect macabre scent that emulates the sensation of losing your tooth in a dessert. while it may seem harsh to others, it definitely dries down into a more mellow aroma that still encapsulates that original, provocative nature that it originally presents itself as. if anything, you could always layer on another vanilla scent to further mummify the metallic quality, allowing for the powdery sweetness to take priority. however, it is amazing on its own. this perfume is a wonderful use of ozonic, metallic, lactonic, and powdery notes that creates a beautifully disturbing accord. i am so proud to have this in my collection and it will continue to be a staple in my everyday wear.

I suppose I should take the artist at his or her word when they say this is a futuristic fragrance. Perhaps a sense of déjà vu or an experience of meeting your higher self; an alternative version of yourself in a previous life. I don't think I would have gotten there if it wasn't mentioned before. For those of you who are experienced independent fragrance enthusiasts, this very much reminds me of BARUTI Oh My DEER! It's either that one or hot cotton. BARUTI has a very distinct musk that is in this fragrance as well. Cannot be mistaken. It is very polarizing, but I find it fascinating. It's not going to be something that will garner compliments, but it is certain to start a conversation! DAWN WHISPERS is the most avant garde in the debut collection for sure. Futuristic is the only genre that I believe fits, if it had to go anywhere at all. It's very different. Very cold, metallic, borderline psychotic.

This is what blood must smell like to vampires. Undoubtedly metallic but also slightly sweet. And above all, delicious. I almost detect something like white cake or vanilla, but it’s as if I’m smelling the remnants of some other sweet fragrance that has faded for several hours. I keep doubling back to smell it because my brain gets confused. Do I like this or hate this? Who does this remind me of (it’s on the tip of my tongue)? What did this smell like again? I’ve made peace with liking - perhaps loving - this scent, but I don’t see myself wearing it everywhere. It’s a little too out-there for the office, but I found that it stops projecting around 2ish hours and stays on the skin the entire day (so I can have it all to myself). There are few fragrances out there that smell both nostalgic and futuristic - this is certainly one of them.

This is what the milk that is fed to Alien babies smells like. It is beautiful and sinister at the same time. It is subtle but also pervasive. When you wear Dawn Whispers it surrounds you with tendrils of blood tinged metallic musk that is also somehow sweet, a little bit floral, and vanillic. For me, this is the absolute pinnacle of niche perfume. I don’t know if I’m remembering correctly, and it actually smells like Dent de Lait, but the concept I think is very similar. That’s the first perfume I thought of when smelling this, but honestly Dawn Whispers is unique. This is one I will wear only for myself but for the right person this could be an unforgettable signature. In a world of designer fragrances that all smell alike, the person wearing this will stand out. Dawn Whispers has pretty intense sillage and decent longevity.

I just received a sample in the mail, and immediately poured almost half of the sample on my skin... Wow! It immediately started tricking my senses: one moment a milky heaven, with a similar milkiness as in Blanche Bete. The other moment a slight sweet sharpness from the musk and amber with some fruitiness that I have no idea where it comes from. It is weird, but the best way possible. Creamier on the skin, more ozonic on fabric. The sillage and strength seem to be somewhere between moderate and large. fragrance reviews on Youtube every week @dianasfragrancecloset

It is a strange fragrance. Opens up with metallic and peppery accord and transforms in musky and ambery dry down. Ozonic notes adds the airy feeling to all of this. I don't agree with comments about blood and all this scary things. I agree that this fragrance is not safe for blind buy. But it still a beautiful work and is a perfumery. Truly niche and interesting scent. For me it worth a full bottle

Milky, musty, intimate, sensual, alien. LOVE. Indoors on a rainy tepid day dreaming of the outside. Nostalgic, dreamy and almost a little vanilla. Smells sexy but maybe that's just me. It dries bloodier and a little more disconcerting.

As a recovering alcoholic, I must say this is the (next) best thing to being drunk. I thought I needed oak-cask smells like Baraonda, but this thing gets you that "flying in outer space" feeling I've been looking for.

i love this fragrance, it’s so unique and it makes me feel like a vampire lady. to me it smells like biting the inside of your mouth while having vanilla cake.

“ The bag wasn’t even full, not even half full, when he zipped it up, because his mother was coming to get him and he didn’t need anything else, and all at once the smile broke out of him like a sunrise. [...] [...] paying no attention whatsoever to his father who was anxiously tidying away the beer cans and adjusting the carpets and trying to give the false sense of a home that was happy, and clean, and safe. [...] Two knocks. Tap-tap. [...] ‘I’ll get it,’ he cried aloud, because this was his moment and he didn’t want to share it with his father. ‘I’ll get it, I’ll get it, don’t worry-’ And he went to the door and pulled aside the chain, and turned the handle to open it wide. And stood there, staring up at the thing that was not his mother. Its face was wide, and white, and clownish, as if drawn in chalk. [...] He felt his father come up behind him, placing a restraining hand on his shoulder, and say aloud, calmly, ‘You’re late. You said ten-thirty and it’s closer to eleven.’ The thing that was not his mother did not move. Its expression did not change. It did not stop staring down at him. And yet his father continued, as if to an inaudible reply, ‘Well, he’ll be glad to see the back of me, I’m sure - and I’ll have a lot less trouble on my hands as well.’ [...] And as he looked up into that monstrous, chalky, grinning face, he began to quiver and shake and cry, turning back, burying himself into his father’s stomach, sobbing, ‘No. No. Don’t let her take me. Don’t let her take me.’ [...] ‘Don’t be ridiculous, boy. She’s going to look after you. What are you crying for?’ And he shook his head and cried and shivered, clinging to his father’s reassuring sweaty shirt, refusing to look back at the thing that was not his mother, begging him not to force him to go with it, until finally, his father said, apologetically, ‘Well, if he really doesn’t want to go...I suppose we can’t force him.’ (I Am In Eskew, Ep. 4, “Culpability”) Which is a winded way to say: This feels oddly familiar but there’s something odd about it in an almost threatening way. The coldness of the metallic accord comes through time and time again and undermines the warmth of the milk and amber. Almost as if the you only get a glimmer of reality, before it’s shrouded in falsely comforting warmth again. A confusing scent for sure.

One of the strangest in my collection. Gently sweet lactonics with vanilla and the most chilling almost sour metallic aldehyde. The two things smell so wrong together that it creates this whole new experience. Something about the combination almost reminds me of lily of the valley, but like a gory version. As it dries down the aldehydes get a lot more rusty/ferrous smelling making it kind of badass. This fragrance makes me visualize handmade production of a bruise-colored dreary dewy sunrise. It has the emotional elements of a sunrise but the rawness of handmade art. Some may find this one hard to wear, which i agree. Though I feel like a good time to wear this would be to go see a horror movie, haunted house or to celebrate Halloween in. This fragrance has total scream queen vibe. The almost bloody quality of the aldehydes put me on edge while the vanilla cream keeps me intrigued. I wore this to go see Obsession in theater and I must say I feel like it definitely enhanced my experience. Its good to wear for specific occasions, and a nice strange scent to have in a collection. Would i buy a full bottle of this, well no. Very cool though

  • em inglês

This fragrance is very interesting. The initial scent is very sharp and metallic. As it started to settle, it literally smelled like a sheet of metal soaked in milk. On the dry down it smelled woody, milky, amber-y, and metallic. It’s a very strange mixture of smells and it’s almost off-putting, while somehow being comforting. At many points it smelled exactly as if you were holding a handful of pennies outside on a hot day. Strange as hell, but I like it. Would I buy full bottle? Probably not. But will I enjoy the sample from time to time? Yes. Edit- After a couple more wears, I ended up scrubbing it off lol. It’s just too much. I like metallic scents, but paired with milk it just smells rancid after awhile.

  • em inglês

Not for everybody. But I like it. It smells like what I imagine blood smells like to vampires. Sharp and metallic , almost cold. Then evolving into something sweet, milky, and lactonic. If the smells of metal turn you off, it's not for you. Funnily enough, I bought this for myself and my roommate. And we both love it while our partners dislike it. It's also hospital like in a comforting way.

  • em inglês

smells like the taste of blood at first —metallic and mineral. floral and powdery after a while. definitely has an airy ozonic quality to it, which registers as lonely and melancholic in a ghost-like way to me. interesting in a wtf way, will enjoy my sample & then forget about her because l’entropiste prices are just too crazy to want to hold onto a smell as bizarrely specific as this one

  • em inglês

I am still making up my mind about this one... It's cold and metallic yet soft and lactonic. Very interesting, and I enjoy such scents in general. Although, this one is definitely not my favorite from L'Entropiste, but it's a great scent nonetheless.

  • em inglês

This is by far the strangest fragrance from L'Entropiste, as well as the most polarizing one. I have to admit I didn't like Dawn Whispers at all when I tried it on paper, but it was better on skin and I do find the deep dry down quite enjoyable. This opens up with a wall of metallic notes, so cold and vivid but also slightly dirty, the two mental associations I made were that it smelled like the taste of a coin if you licked it, and also bad body odor. The body odor smell isn't long lived, it's only a short flash that's noticeable immediately after spraying. The metallic notes are overbearingly present during the opening, but they're nothing like a gunpowder note (think of BeauFort's Tonnerre and Pyroclasm or Toskovat's Inexcusable Evil) or mineralic at all, this is something completely different. I find the opening pungent and slightly unpalatable but not completely unwearable. As it dries this metallic note subsides very heavily and a creamy, vanillic smell starts coming through, it reminds me of Tom Ford's Eau d'Ombré Leather's vanilla note in that it's a lighter and brighter vanilla, more pale yellow than a deeper amber color. For a brief "transitional" period the metallic note becomes a smokey incense very briefly before fully disappearing and leaving only the vanilla behind. There's parts of this fragrance that appear in other fragrances from the line, specifically this metallic note reappearing in Ensang Noir in a tremendously lower dosage, as well as Jodhpur 6AM having a similar creamy sweetness to it, although much less vanillic. The way this fragrance develops is very interesting, but ultimately the opening is too unpalatable for me and it takes a few hours before it becomes likeable.

  • em inglês

Very metallic but not in the blood sense, it's an industrial smell. Imagine your dad who works as a welder and he goes out to get milk, like he always does, but he never comes back. The milk part is important since all i could smell after 10 minutes was milk and metal. It's also surprisingly nostalgic for some reason. Once it dries down it's actually pleasant and slightly sweet. It does NOT retain the weirdness at all.

  • em inglês

What a clean-girl cyborg by the pool would smell like. Also smells a bit like dried blood in your skin. Highly metallic, no milk notes whatsoever although it does dry down with a lot more body than the initial sprays. Not safe for a blind buy.

  • em inglês

Serial Experiments Lain... Suffocating! A suppressing and claustrophobic feeling that starts from the very first sniff... A sweet scent that also smells very much like a metal spoon. I usually make this comparison for this type (Dent de Lait, No Taboos): "like drinking milk from an iron cup", but instead of milk in this one, it's the bubbling and frothing form of chai tea latte. It could also be an excessively sharp liquid that reacts with the metal and creates raised stains on the inner surface of the cup. Something disturbing. Whatever's giving it the woody-musky quality is synthetic to the extreme. The metallic feeling in the drydown gets even stronger... It becomes incredibly sharp... there's a reference in the scent to past lives in another world and even another dimension. What I think is being depicted here is the scent (if there is one) of a cyberpunk dystopian world where our souls have completely turned into code. Tag(s): metallic, sweet, futuristic, dystopian, disturbing, sweet!

  • em inglês

Whatever it is here that whispers at dawn might certainly best be avoided! What a macabre little number this is. I struggle with a description to pin it down and the best I can come up with is "sour". This invention does not invite you in. It pushes you forcibly away in fact. I’ve never smelled embalming fluid but can imagine it to be just like this. No warmth. No trace of a smile. No hope. Did it appear to Bertrand Duchaufour, dark and fully formed, in a fever dream? I experienced this from a sample and will not be coming back for more.

  • em inglês

had high hopes for this one, came very close to blind buying it, but thankfully I didn’t. At first sniff, it reminded me of Ghost in the Shell, which caught my interest. But almost immediately, it shifted into a strong metallic, almost chemical note, reminiscent of blood. It ended up smelling very similar to Le Solstice by Moncler, which unfortunately makes it quite headache inducing for me. I was really hoping for the sweetness/creaminess people mentioned, but I couldn’t detect it at all.

  • em inglês

I have been wanting to try this one for a while and I finally got to, but sadly this perfume made me realise that I am not a huge fan of metallic notes... It gave me a slight headache. I don't feel anything milky about it, just a sweet metallic scent. This isn't a safe blind buy at all.

  • em inglês

I find it VERY metallic, even disturbing. For my taste it's definitely a 'beware me" scent, but sorry... I've never understood the point of metallic scents. It's an artistic exercise in perfumery, but it would be more suited to a robot than a human.

  • em inglês

with its almost invisible mothball smell, ozonic reminded me once again why i don't like laundry scents. but it's still a pretty successful perfume.

  • em inglês

Plain aldehydic bomb... no milk whatsoever. Horrific.

  • em inglês

Not a fan, this opens smack in your face with a synthetic aldehyde smell. Almost like you are in some kind of factory that produces industrial chemicals for the cosmetics industry. There are all these screechy sweet sour powdery compounds, a bit stomach churning and off putting. Settles into sweetness of some kind like a powder. This does not smell futuristic or mysterious, just unpleasant. A mix of insecticide in the there somewhere.

  • em inglês

This is very sweet, I would almost consider it a gourmand. It sits somewhere between milky and fruity - perhaps peach? It’s bright and sharp, definitely feminine leaning.

  • em inglês

absolutely revolting, i can’t even begin to place my finger on what exactly makes me feel so sick to my stomach but this is just horrific 😭

  • em inglês

A milk tooth stuck on hard, sticky candy, and you don’t know if you can get it out without drawing blood. News flash: you can’t — it stays there, and you’re left with a new empty space in your mouth to explore with your tongue. My actual right front tooth aches every time I bring my nose to the hand I sprayed while testing it. It’s mean and it’s masterful. My fantasy stays in the mouth for a third image — a pensive tooth fairy turned temporarily vile just before her time of the month. While I tried to entertain the original concept behind Dawn Whispers, my own interpretation stuck out too much, leaving space for no other. You will be noticed wearing this one — it projects mercilessly and draws in with a sticky, sharp edge. If you’re a young Berlin resident with a cutting-edge fashion sense, it can easily become your signature.

  • em inglês

This is the one that keeps you in the present moment as no note brings a memory not a single one. Ozone, metal, laxtonic notes that resemble no actual milk but so e la d of white and shiny humanoid plastic, synthetic skin, a friendly disinfectant, a musky dream. Soon enough, a soul emerges in this chemical warmth, a faint ambery glitter coming and going. Dawn whispers has just the right amount of uncanny to keep your focus on here and now. Can't just put it on and forget, there's this constant alert of something unknown although safe. (Some laconic prcedessors: Secretions Magnifiques, Dent de Lait, Ghost in the Shell, probably Sadonaso. what a sequence of names! And there's also Amour Nocturne by Duchaufour himself but this one has a clearer shape)

  • em inglês

Smells very much like Genievre by Headspace in the drydown. I get fruity, bubbly champagne-like woods with a kind of charming sudsy-soapy froth. It has a terpenic, rounded sheen that some incense perfumes exude with notes of citrus and hues of light pine, perhaps also from an unlisted juniper note. Mild aldehydic fattiness probably lends itself the soap facet. It's there it feels creamy but I wouldn't personally call it milk. Feels very dialed in with the balancing of elements, and I think I like it better than Genievre, which I own a small bottle of. Somewhat reminds me of detergent, but it is interesting for having some very pretty, delicately fresh incense-like elements juxtaposed against a creamy-fatty accord. Mild thumbs up.

  • em inglês

Genuinely one of the strangest fragrances I've ever experienced. At first the ozonic notes were so strong and it smelled like a really pleasant mix of rain and a dusty old room with big windows. Then suddenly BAM dentist's office: blood, metal, gums. I can't believe there aren't blood notes listed in this because that's all I could smell! The drydown after about an hour then suddenly became really pleasant and musky - do I even smell something sweet like vanilla? The toothy element may be a result of all the orris, apparently, as there are orris notes in the smell of tooth decay. Not necessarily something I want to purchase or wear but such a cool olfactory experience!! I can't stop thinking about it.

  • em inglês

It is an abstract modern clean thing that will smell different to everyone. I get an aquatic floral, refreshing, like white petals and green stems in ice cold water. But new aquatic, not 90s aquatic. But behold, no florals or aquatics listed in the notes. I guess I am getting floral aspects from the “incense without incense” accord. I see the slight resemblance to New Look but I prefer that one’s hardcore frankincense and overall brutalism. But I would buy this if it were a little cheaper and a tad less sweet in the drydown. Edit: I have moved on from this and I favor Altamura and Dorian’s Spleen from this line. 3 out of 5.

  • em inglês

i had a sample that i thought was nasty at first, the opening hurt my nose the same way smelling a bowl of bleach at the salon makes you feel like you are eating it. but it dries down into such a gorgeous scent, the aggressive metals and milky notes make it smell like a scene girl's profile picture looks with the blown out high exposure and "sketch" photobooth effect. this is exactly what a steel-type pokemon would smell like, and at the same time it`s soo sexy. i wish i could afford the full bottle, but i am buying another sample, i can't resist this scent!!!

  • em inglês

When the "Master of Incense" attempts to create "an incense without using any incense". (dixit one of the recent videos where he described the range). The result is a very cold incensey scent, a very, very close relative to Dior's New Look 2024, minus the ultra bright aldehydic note. It's also a relative to Altamura from the same range, but minus the warmth of the sweet orange and liquor. A very cold, transparent incense impression which I find a little too austere for my taste. It's nice, but so cold that I don't see myself wearing this often.

  • em inglês

If you like the smell of freezers, like sticking your head in the frozen dessert section door at the grocery, you will like this. A slight artificial sweetness. Your nose bleeding because it’s cold out. The ice pack numbs your skin.... What a strange scent. One of those scents that I view as an art piece rather than a scent I’d wear. It’s beautiful and strange, evokes a strong response, something I love about perfume.

  • em inglês

never have i ever smelled such a disjointed fragrance before. its truly bizzare, though not really in a good way. one second you are overwhelmed with a powdery almond sweetness, the next - youre slapped in the face with a sheet of metal. and that is the entire fragrance. it comes off as a perpetual tug of war between those two smells, and boy do they hate each other!

  • em inglês

Completely nauseating. Imagine a futuristic Chemical plant perched atop a rocky shoreline near the sea. There's a big metal air duct shooting unregulated compounds into the hot and humid morning air. It was a beautiful place once. I scrubbed my wrists and it won't go away. Christ this is just awful.

  • em inglês

Very lactonic, sweet and metallic. Have to agree with a comment below...All I smell is a piece of metal in a glass of sweetened milk. Not a perfume I prefer, but I guess it's quite interesting one to try. Definetly not suitable for a blind buy

  • em inglês

Probably the most scary perfume of L'entropiste range. Even SL De Profundis is wearable and has some niceness and hope. Dawn Whispers smells of some destruction without hope. Anti perfumery at its peak.

MINDBLOW First, I get a wet steel sheet. Second, there’s cashmere soaked in milk. And third, a veil of fresh powder. I’m in love with how it changes every minute. A true kind of masterpiece.
