Fashion de Leonard. This was sealed; a pre-1977 (no EMB code), splash version of this 1970 release. Research showed that the notes above are for the 1993 onward fruity/floral formula. To me, so far, it's mostly moss and civet; lightly floral only briefly, with a nice patchouli. Kind of woody too when I look ... More 'yellow' than 'green'. Really nice. Quite understated, and definitely unisex. A bright Chypre, with what seems to be an increasingly smooth, leathery, and slightly urinous base.

Oh MY! This one I LOVE and will save my measly 15ml-ish remains from the vintage bottle I just received. It is the square, rock-ish outside, with the burgandy/gold mixed top. Loooooovely! I will most definitely save this exquisite juice for special night occasions :o) Truly lovely. Does anyone know how different the vintage and the reformulation compares? Thanks for any information!

Review for a vintage new bottle in the frosted bottle and pink box. It had about 30% evaporation upon opening so the notes are more concentrated then they once were, but are not rancid. This is FABULOUS. This is a giant spicy tuberose with jasmine and peach. Fresh watery top notes and vanilla amber moss base. Superbly done. I rarely wear tuberose, but I’m in love.

I have also the bottle from 70-s. Not the bottle in the picture. It's dry mossy and I feel something like tobacco, not smoky but woods. It's my first real perfume. So fine, so sofisticated and fresh. Strong. In a glass and stylish bottle. Wow! And now I have some :)

The vintage version is a soft , classy and feminine lovely floral not on the sweet side and with some retro feeling : in one word , it is graceful . It can be still found for a nice price maybe because it has been undeservedly forgotten . The vintage bottle has a uniform pale gray colored box . Its glass is beautifully gilded .

Another one that really needs a separate listing for the vintage and the "modern". Neither is right or wrong but they are two different fragrances so it's just no use otherwise. I can't vote for notes that aren't there. I can't suggest Smell's Like because how does anyone make sense of something that apparently smells like both Alliage and Amariage - utter nonsense !! I have the one in the advert kindly uploaded by Alex1984 . This certainly fits this profile - Fashion DE LEONARD A spicy, woody, animal, a feminine line, a delicate fragrance(sic) its 28 secret scents are blended with the scents of Jasmine from Grasse, Bulgarian and Moroccan Roses, Iris, Lily of the Valley, Ylang from Bambao, Bergamot, Vetyver from Java, Sandalwood from Mysore, Cedar from Lebanon, Oak Moss from Yugoslavia, Patchouli from Singapore Civet, Castorum, Musk, Ambergris, Cardamom, Coriander and Frankincense It sits well within that period - think: Herbessence from HR; Coriandre; Eau de Rochas, Y YSL , Trophee, Alliage, Diorella... It's dry, bitter, woody, herby and never even winked at a 🍑

My bottle of this obscure scent is the original parfum flacon, which is shaped like a rough chunk of glass or ice. It is shown in the vintage illustration above, the one with the woman in the paisley pantsuit. Most of the notes and reviews listed here seem to refer to a later and clearly different formulation. The original version is a smoky, woody and intensely mossy Chypre, not an Oriental at all. Fashion evokes a campfire at Woodstock, with notes of cedar, sandalwood, lots and lots of moss, a little jasmine, and patchouli. Don't look for roses, iris, ylang-ylang, tuberose, or vanilla in this version of the juice--they're not here. TheRealPaloma was reviewing the original version, too, and she's absolutely right: this Fashion bears some resemblance to the original Crepe de Chine, but Fashion is drier and earthier than the Millot chypre and more leathery. The original Fashion is a tough, elegant, and uncompromising woody chypre--Cabochard's 70's daughter.

To my greatest joy, and after a 30-years-long quest, and, most of all, thanks to Fragrantica, I found my all-time favourite on E-bay. Thank God it has never been reformulated, and when I first smelled it, after so many years, it struck me how deep and warm it was. Some people recommend it for daily use, but I do not agree: in my opinion it is something to be worn sparsely, not to be worn for a big sillage. It is more a perfume for seduction... to have your partner close to you... That's all that needs to be said...

The bottle you see shown here is a totally new fragrance, with a pronounced fruity floral character completely UNLIKE the original from the 1970s, which is crisp, chypre-like, and very sophisticated. This newish (peachy-musky)scent is like many others available in the 1990s, but the original Fashion was distinctive, and much more like Crepe de Chine with a more complex floral character. I have several bottles of the original one.

This was my best perfume back in the seventies, and to my grrrrr disappointment, it's production has been discontinued. As it is slightly similar to de Givenchy's Amarige, yet with more warmth and depth, I'm going to try to make my own version... unless a miracle happens...

A well behaved fruity fragrance, I have a mini of unknown age. It does look like the bottle shown here, only smaller with a flower etching on the glass. Modest sillage/lasting power, work safe. Well suited for those who like fruity, non sweetened scents.

This is a soft, fruity and shinny fragrance. Perfect for day use.
