Dreams and Nightmares

Bravo. This is a few things. Photorealistic experience of being under a euclayptus tree during rain, your bare feet sinking into wet soil. Maybe it's Australia maybe it's Southern California. The air is charged. Somehow despite the rain it's not cold - it's warm and delightful from the coriander and lovely lovely pepper. One thing I love about existing on earth is how landscapes on this terrain mirror each other (prob from the Unfolding). I live on this tiny bend in the hills of hollywood and my street has gargantuan ancient looking eucalyptus and other trees that look terrifically jurassic. Pepper trees, in their various hues, also dot this landscape so this fragrance evokes previously described experience - ultimately feels quite unisex and is successful in that - but my oh my I love it when men smell like this. Like sexy man smell. Its not as heavy and heady as a men's cologne - but it's a complex non linear scent with a lovely combo of spice and cool....also miss Bergamot is in there but she's not making this skew citrus but just brightening things up and complimenting the euc...which I appreciate because I cannot do multiple citrus notes together .... but the balance....they wrapped this up in a bow....YALL DID THAT!!!!!! the multitudes...

Ok firstly - such cute discovery set packaging! Each dabber came in a mini, sealed envelope and tucked in a branded dust bag. We got a classic, moody rain break during the Seattle summer stretch and thought it would be a perfect day to try Dreams & Nightmares. Off the first sniff I could envision a thunderstorm. I love a petrichor scent but this is the first time I feel like I really got some darker weight to it. The opening smells ever so slightly humid and metallic like a wet chain link fence from a distance. I sprayed under my clothes and my pulse points. While the pulse points reveal the earth’s fragrant sigh following a stormy, subconscious crescendo and the remaining gusts of wind lapping up against the shivering flora, a storm still brews beneath my turtle neck. Almost like a draft whistling through the cracks of a mossy cottage who’s tenant favors French milled soap. The wind chimes dance in electric anticipation for the ozonic orchestra to begin. You can still smell the top notes popping and bursting in the outlying atmosphere. No need to be afraid - it’s all just a dream. :) Beautiful work, L’Epoque. Just beautiful.

Slightly citrusy in the opening then the eucalyptus and earthiness/woodiness pulls through. I get a tiny bit of petrichor. It is incredibly calming. This will be my rainy day, sick day, bad day fragrance.

This is a cool one! To my nose I find the opening a soft citrus which turns into a lovely wet earth scent. I’m immediately drawn to a cool misty morning in a moss covered mysterious forest floor. I do find it a lovely unisex sent with moderate projection within the first hour but drys down to a lovely intimate fresh earthy skin scent. I’ll have to try this on my husband as I do find it a bit more masculine leaning to my nose. Overall a great sample and definitely excited to try more from this brand.

Reminds me of olfactive studio "close up". I think I prefer close up but I'll use up the sample. It's weird because I feel like lime should be a note in here. It also at times can smell like pencil shavings. Over all I feel like it's one of the better samples I got in my recent samples order lol however I don't see it as a very practical perfume, but it might be nice to wear on a rainy day.

Weirdly uneasy lemons with a bit of pizzazz, some eucalyptus-pink-pepper zhuzhiness, a provocative piquance contrasted with a softly dank, earthy-woody-woolyiness. If the Misfits' prickly-sour-chartreuse neon Phyllis Gabor was also the fuzzily balsamic-herbaceous The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Freaking gorgeous.

WOW! This is definitely not something everyone wear and honestly, it’s not for everyone. A little sweet, but I really like it. The eucalyptus and cardamom really stand out here. 🔥
